Chapter 47: Let's hear the applause

"Lunch was so delicious." I commented. "Thanks for everything, Jerome. It really means a lot."

"No problem." He gave me a soft kiss. "Taxi!"

Later, I was ranting on about how great Jerome was to amber and Nina.

"And he even rented an apartment! We looked at the stars, he took me to Fifteen, and he insisted on paying for everything!"

"That's so cute!" Nina gushed.

"He rented an apartment?" Amber questioned.

"Yes!"

"Did you guys-?"

"Amber!"

"But if they-"

"Amber, I will tell you right now that would not do that at this age." She paused to look over at me. "Right, Patricia?"

I felt my face go red. I wasn't going to say yes, but I couldn't say no, either.

"Oh my God. You did!" Amber exclaimed. "Was it the greatest experience of your life?"

"Can we not talk about this?" I coughed awkwardly.

"No! Come on! Answer the question!"

I sighed. "Yes. It was great, okay? Are you satisfied?"

Amber shrugged. "I can get more details later."

"Good... I guess." I stood up. "Because we need to have a Sibuna meeting. Right now. Jerome and I thought of where the clue could lead." I winked at Nina.

"Definitely. I'll get the guys. Amber, go get Joy."

"Fine." She huffed. I laughed and went down to the cellar.

"Go ahead, Jerome." I said when Sibuna had gathered.

He pulled out the book, and the shelf moved.

"What do you know, Jerome was actually right!" I heard Joy comment.

I shot her a glare. "Cut it out." I mouthed.

"Should we go in?" Amber asked.

"You guys can. I'd... Rather stay out here." Amber looked at me. She knew something was up.

"Alright... We'll go look for the sistrum I guess..."

"Patricia, I know you're probably scared to go back in there, considering what happened last time, but you have to. Please do this, for me? For us?" Jerome whispered.

"Ok. Fine, but only for you." He opened his mouth to speak, but I knew what he was going to say. "Don't even ask for a good luck kiss like Alfie." I said, and he sighed, and I gave him one anyway.

"Guys, I think I found something." Nina called.

"What? What did you find?" Fabian asked Nina.

"There's something carved into the wall. It looks like... It's been painted over."

"Oh! That's an easy one!" Amber said, took her nails, and scratched the paint off the wall.

"Oh my God... This can't be possible."
