"Sorry about the lack of warning before we sort of just stormed your garden," Nicole explains to the Blacks as they sit spread out on their enormous, leather sofa. The entire thing wraps around the comfy, boxed in lounge that serves as the group's quiet meeting room. Token's parents sit on one side. Nicole and Wendy along with Craig and Tweek sit opposite them. A shiny, cherry-wood coffee table sits in the middle dugout, mugs of hot chocolate from each person there placed atop its mirrored surface.

"Oh, it's perfectly acceptable," Token's mother places her steaming mug back onto the table. "Honestly, we're surprised that no one even came to us sooner. I heard from Bebe that a few buildings downtown have been knocked over. But nothing's come over here yet. Every part of this house- even the gardens- are still perfectly intact. We have plenty of room, as you can see and have been expecting visitors to come over and beg us for shelter ever since the sky turned red. We'd invite more people in, but the internet and cellular signals were cut off and it is far too dangerous to leave the house. Look at you all. It looks as if you got into some sort of fight. What happened? Were you attacked? Is that why Token and some of the other boys aren't here? When you all arrived here, many of you had minor injuries but all of you were exhausted." She then motions to the blond, ratty-haired boy at the end of the line of children next to Craig. Loose and poorly-wrapped gauze sits around his left calf. "Tweek here could barely walk when he first arrived at our doorstep and he still has trouble!"

"I know, Mrs. Black. Of course I know we were all in very bad shape when you were so kind as to let us in," Nicole insists. "There was no time to get out the whole story then. But you helped patch us up and give us a place to rest up. And for that, we will remain eternally grateful. I promise you both that I will explain everything. You're right about the attack. I don't suppose you've noticed those glowing, multicolored eyes watching all of us from outside of your mansion. The red sky brought with it creatures from another dimension! We were all taking refuge in the community center a little ways down the road when a whole hoard of them ambushed us. Some of the boys from our class including Token stayed back to fight them. We couldn't risk being separated a second time. The community center has been completely dismantled and..." He voice trails off and her eyes brim with tears. The room is quiet for a good thirty seconds. Wendy looks up to observe the people around her for the first time. At first, she kept her eyes downward, not facing anybody while Nicole talked. Now she forces herself to look both of Token's parents in the eyes as Nicole softly begins to sob beside her. The Black's expressions go from confused, to a bit worried and then dumbfounded. Wendy feels her heartbeat palpitate in her chest and she loses control of her breathing.

"...We lost sight of all of them," Craig takes over for Nicole, but it doesn't do much good with his voice trembling just as badly as hers. "I'm sorry, but we were hurt and we had to get away from there while we still could. We couldn't afford to get hurt even more badly than we already were. We had no choice but to leave. I'm sorry. We don't know what happened to your son..."

The room is tense again and there is another pause. Tears begin to well at Mrs. Black's eyes as well. She looks up at the ceiling and sighs, "Once the sky started changing color and these horrible abominations were let loose, I knew there was a chance we would never see Token again."

"When we were still able to," Token's father explains in a faint voice. "We talked to all of your guys' parents. They were just as w-worried about you. Token is most likely gone. Your parents believe that is what you are too. To think that you are dead, but you actually aren't. That isn't the truth."

Wendy shakes her head, "But that isn't how it is. And I don't think that you should give up hope on ever seeing your son again. That may be very well what our parents are thinking to themselves right now, you're right. But we are alive and want to find them."

"Yes. That is the reason that we disappeared a week ago," Nicole regains her posture, though she still sniffs before that last statement. "We thought we could prevent was what happening, all of those accidents. But then we just ended up speeding up the process and making it even worse. Our intentions have always been for the greater good, I think however. Token and the others, all we really wanted to do was protect you guys. And that stayed with your son when he fought for us to escape. I know he would want us to come here and seek refuge. And I know that because I loved him just like you do. We all cared about him and understand what it was that he did for us and the town. But that is why we need to carry on his legacy whether he is alive or dead. This is what our resistance was creative to revolve around."

The speech does nothing to dry either of Token's loving and once wealthy parents of their tears. Mr. Black speaks up between sobs, "It doesn't matter what your intentions, you shouldn't have left this town at all because had you not, Token would still be here with us."
