I barley left my bedroom until the day I would start at Ouran. I haven't heard a word from Keri, who I was extremely anxious to see again.
I skipped breakfast and asked one of the drivers to take me there before granny woke up. She'd ruin my happy mood in an instant.
The driver thankfully agreed and took me to the school which was empty as it was only seven in the morning. School doesn't start until eight, so I roamed the halls.
The school was freakishly huge. The walls were painted pink and the ceiling had spiraling golden designs. I got dizzy from trying to follow one with my eyes.
I pulled out a slip from the weightless backpack on my shoulder that had my classroom number and a map. Since I'm here early, I might as well figure out where I'll be for the rest of the year.
I followed the directions on the map to get to class 1-A. The door was open which surprised me a bit.
"She's not going to be here now."
"I know. What's the point of being at home though?"
That voice sounded a lot like Keri's.
I slowly walked into the room to see Keri sitting with two redheaded girls.
"Is that her?" one of the girls asked.
Keri's eyes widened. "I didn't think you'd be here this early!" She said.
"Well, here I am," I said.
"How have you been?" Keri asked in a whisper.
"Good I suppose. I just wanted to see you again," I said.
"Really? I wanted to see you, too," she said. She didn't seem as happy as her words.
"Oi, you two take your petty reunion to some other class," a redhead said.
"Hailey, say that a bit more politely," the other said.
Hailey clicked her tongue and turned away. "Why should I be nice to someone else's friend?" She put a lot of emphasis on friend.
"Hailey, Kaylee, don't fight now," Keri interrupted.
"Who are they?" I asked Keri.
"That's Hailey and Kaylee Necker. They're twins in our class," she said.
"Oh. My name is Tammy Soroh. It's nice to meet you," I bowed.
"We didn't ask for your name," Hailey said. I know it's early in the morning, but she could have been a bit nicer.
"Alright then. Why are you here so early?" I asked, trying to start a conversation.
"None of your business."
"We thought our friend would be here."
"Mina isn't our friend anymore."
"Who's Mina?" I asked.
The twins glared at me for interrupting them with stupid questions. "A girl who's dead to us," Hailey said.
That's a bit harsh.
"Mina was their friend, but she sort of abandoned them," Keri whispered.
Immediately, I looked at them and thought of my parents.
"We didn't need her anyway," Hailey scowled.
"You may say that, but it's an obvious lie," I said.
They glared at me again. "How can you say that when you don't even know her or us?" Kaylee asked.
"I know because I'm just like you."
Their eyebrows furrowed and they looked at each other. Hailey opened her mouth to say something, but a few students entered the room. It was time for school to start.
I took my seat next to Keri in the front of the room away from the twins. "What a strange girl," I heard Hailey say.
"Perhaps this will be a more interesting year than we thought," Kaylee said.
