two days later

"How are we doing, sir?" Alfred asked as Bruce took off his cowl and sat it beside the suit chamber, taking a moment before going out on patrol.

"Okay, Alfred. I just... just got a call from Julie." he replied.

"Oh." Alfred said softly.

"She told me that she knows I'm a busy person but she feels that I pay more attention to my work sometimes rather than her. She still wants to see me but says the relationship is now mutual. Mutual only." Bruce said with a deep sigh.

"And how do you feel about that, Master Bruce?"

"It's for the best. I wish the terms could've been under me but I know that she's safe now. That's what matters the most. I still have some things to learn on this people and friends dynamic but I promise that I'll work at it." Bruce said with a smirk.

"Very good, sir. I'll be sitting here. Want a list of crimes reported tonight?"

"Not at the moment. I have something to deal with first. Bruce said, putting on the cowl and walking towards the car that had been refitted with a new painted chassis.

"Oh, sir." Alfred said, spinning around in the chair as he booted up the computer.

"Yes, I'm keeping Firefly's jetpack. Me and Lucius are going to study more about his propulsion research." Batman said, about to walk away again before Alfred cleared his throat.

"No, not that. It's... it's about the faun that Ms. Thompkins has been caring for."

Batman turned his head in an acknowledging manner.

"The faun is doing quiet well, sir." Alfred said with a smile.

With that, Batman walked over to the car and fired the engine up, giving a deep breath as he punched in the address he needed to go to into the GPS.

"Be very careful around him, Ms. Quinzel. He's dangerous." Dr. Poe said as he led the young and pretty intern to the Joker's room at Blackgate Prison's psychiatric ward.

"Okay, doctor. I'll be fine." Harleen Quinzel replied as she waited for the security guard to open the room door as he stepped in first and the doctor waved goodbye.

She was somewhat startled by his presence at first as he gave a look at her and smiled. She found him handsome despite the scars and saw something dark yet attractive in his green eyes. She sat down across from him at the collapsible table and got out her tablet as she cleared her throat.

"Hello, Joker. My name is Harleen Quinzel and I'm going to be getting all your information down for your transfer out of state, okay?" Quinzel said with a pretty smile.

The Joker observed her with one good eye as the other was black and swollen and found her the perfect fit for someone like him. She had shoulder length blonde hair that was tightly put in a ponytail, polished nails, and just a hint of eyeliner to increase her beauty.

"Okay. Just give me a second while I record all of the evidence shown right here." she said as she grabbed the police custody photos and said her observations into the speech-to-text app on the tablet.

"Patient's real name is unknown, fingerprints were taken at police headquarters and no match for criminal record was found, skin color originally caucasian but now pure white, hair most likely brown but now green, and multiple bruises across the body. Patient claims to have lost memory of previous life before incident at Ace Chemical Plant in Gotham. Dozens charges of murder, one count of robbery, multiple threatening officer, multiple charges of illegal weapon ownership. Among other things." Quinzel said, taking a deep breath after stopping the app for a moment.

"Alrighty. I'll continue the observations later but now... I just want to know about you, Joker. Is that all alright?" she asked as she started the app once again.

"Yes, ma'am. May... may I call you Harley?" Joker asked with a smile.
