Walk With An Angel
Chapter 54: Valentine's Day
The bruise on her cheek was fading and her lip was nearly all healed. Beth was glad Daryl could finally look at her without all that hurt and anger in his eyes. She wanted to make this a very special day for the both of them, since it was their first Valentine's together.
Eric and Aaron were going out of town, to a fancy little resort Aaron found online. Since the incident with Len, they hadn't been out of the house much. Eric's ankle was healing nicely but that wasn't stopping Aaron from worrying.
Rick had put Len and Joe both on notice after Len was bailed out that they better keep their noses clean until the trial. Joe promised there wouldn't be any trouble, but Daryl doubted that.
Merle was like a caged animal, ready to pounce at any moment. He wanted to pay Joe and Len back for what they did. They had hurt Beth, hurt a Dixon and he didn't take that lightly.
The tension between the brothers was like dynamite ready to blow. Beth felt that tension every night when Daryl came home and they fell asleep in each other's arms instead of making love. They both needed some time alone, away from all the stress that had become their lives.
The church Sweetheart's Fair was that weekend and come hell or high water, Beth was going to make sure Daryl Dixon was going.
Maggie came over early that morning, bringing her tackle box of girly goodness. Daryl greeted her as he walked out the door, grumbling about being dragged to some stupid fair. He wasn't in the mood for people, but his wife was. She needed this and he could feel it, feel them drifting apart.
"Daryl Dixon… turn that frown upside down. I'm sick of seeing you looking like a raging bull all the time. If you can't man up for your wife, your pregnant wife, then Len wins. You're letting him take this from you. He hasn't made a move or said one damn word since Joe locked his ass up in that shack of theirs. Get a shower and put on your best and you better have Beth one hell of a Valentine's present." Maggie crossed her arms over her chest as her hazel eyes burned back at him.
He started to roll his eyes, but from the look on Maggie's face caused him to think better of it. "I got her that rockin' chair she wanted. For the nursery. I had Rick pick it up yesterday."
Maggie's eyes became a little softer and Daryl let out a held breath. "Okay… you did good."
He chuckled at her and she winked at him. "You ain't off the hook yet. Carol and I are making this place a second honeymoon for you two and dammit Dixon… you best deliver."
"What has Beth been tellin' ya?" Daryl leaned back against the doorway, feeling like an ass.
"That little drought in the bedroom. That ends tonight. She's pregnant, not dead. She still wants you. I know this ain't exactly a conversation you want to be having with me, but you're having it. If I have to listen to her cry on the phone one more time because you're letting the redneck prick in you out, I'm gonna cut your balls off." She gave him a smile that chilled him to the bone. Maggie had never talked to him like that before and to see that look in her eyes now, the body language she was giving him, he knew she was serious as fuck.
"I got it." He shoved his hands in his pockets, knowing Maggie was right. He had let this hatred for Len and the bruise on her face get in the way of loving his wife.
He could hear Maggie and Beth chatting in the bedroom as he turned on the shower water. He had missed the sound of her laughter, the way it made his heart smile.
All thoughts of Len and Joe would be banished from his mind tonight. Tonight was all about Beth, tonight was all about them.
He took a quick shower, making sure to use that musky body wash Beth loved so much. Beth tapped on the bathroom door as she walked in.
"Daryl… oh my… you smell so damn good." He poked his head out from the shower curtain, smiling at her.
"Glad you like it. Thought I'd spice thangs up a bit tonight." The shampoo was starting to run down in his eyes as he squinted them. Beth gave him a quick kiss before she took her bottle of perfume and left.
With a towel hanging around his hips, he looked at the clothes laying over the stool and wondered if he should wear something nicer. Beth had made several comments about his ass in those jeans and that navy blue dress shirt was her favorite. He tossed them on and place the thin black necktie around his neck. Tonight was special, so he was pulling out all the stops.
After drying his hair and combing it out the best he could, he rolled up his sleeves and slid on his boots. This was it, Daryl Dixon at his best.
When he walked out of the bathroom, he got a whistle from Maggie. "Nice."
Daryl's cheeks turned a faint red as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Maggie… thank you."
"My pleasure." She said as she gave him a quick wink.
Beth had dark circles under her eyes, the kind you get from not sleeping much and crying a lot. Lori had told her to call if she needed someone to talk to, but she'd shed enough tears with Maggie. Sasha had noticed the change in her as well and tried to lift her spirits. The only medicine Beth needed was her husband, the way he used to be.
Maggie placed her makeup kit on the vanity and stroked the back of her head. "That shampoo is really working. Your hair is getting thicker and longer. How do you want to wear it tonight?"
Beth rubbed her face, not sure about anything, anymore. "It doesn't matter. Maggie, what did you say to Daryl just now?"
"Don't you worry about it. Let's just say, he knows tonight is important. Daddy said to make sure you get a sweetheart tart before you leave tonight. The smell coming out of the kitchen last night was to die for." Maggie let her fingers comb through Beth's shoulder length blonde hair, remembering how long and soft it used to be.
"I will. What are you and Glenn doing tonight?" Beth asked as she applied some lotion to her face.
"Glenn is helping with the horse carriage rides and I'm helping Carol with… none of your business." Maggie giggled as she did a braid on each side of Beth's hair.
Beth looked in the mirror as Maggie pinned the braids back and curled her hair into a wavy waterfall. Her hair hadn't looked that good since she lost it. The wig was nice, but honestly, she was done with that part of her life.
Maggie worked with makeup the way an artist works with clay or paint and when she was done, Beth didn't recognize the woman looking back at her. The bruise was gone, the pink scar on her lips was nowhere to be seen. She was a different woman and she was going to use it to get what she wanted, her husband between the sheets.
The black leggings she'd picked out were going to be a challenge. She pulled and tugged until she was out of breath. Maggie smiled at her when she saw the sexy little panties she'd put on.
"What? Pretty soon I'll be bigger than a damn house and I want to be sexy while I can." Beth's cheeks were a pale pink as she smiled back at her sister.
With the first challenge out of the way, she was on to the second. She lifted her arms and Maggie helped her slip on her red sweater dress. It slid on easily and showed off the baby bump she was very proud of. The cow neck, long sleeved dress looked amazing on her, showing off the curves she had, while accenting the full hips she was getting.
Maggie helped her pulled on her knee high black leather boots. The dress hit her just above the knee and the boots completed the look.
She took one last look in the mirror, admiring her sister's handy work when Maggie handed her the silver heart shaped earrings Hershel had bought her for her sixteenth birthday.
"There… you're beautiful." Maggie had her twirl around, letting her sister have this moment.
"Can you go check on Daryl while I grab my jacket?" Beth opened the closet door, hoping Daryl wasn't going to let his surly disposition ruin this tonight.
Daryl looked at the beauty walking out of the bedroom and felt all the blood leave his face, racing right towards his crotch.
"Daryl?" Beth asked him with a puzzled look on her face.
"I am one lucky bastard." He said to her as he closed the distance between them. He wrapped his arms around her as her bump pressed into his stomach.
"You don't look so bad yourself." Beth smiled up at him and his heart thumped against his chest.
"I'm sorry. I can be a real dick sometimes." He kissed her cheek, not feeling worthy to kiss her lips at that moment.
"Yes, you can. You've got all night to make it up to me. The last week is all forgiven, as long as you keep that handsome smile on your face." She kissed him, giving him the touch he was craving.
With is fingers laced with his angels, he walked her out to the truck. He opened her door, helping her in and moved quickly to his side. She leaned over, giving him another kiss before they pulled out.
The distance between them faded away with each mile they traveled down the road. Beth was scooted up close to him, with her head on his shoulder. He rested his arm over the back of the truck seat, letting his fingers lazily stroke on her arm. This was nice and very much needed.
Glenn's big goofy grin was the first thing they saw when they pulled into the church parking lot. Hearts dangled from every tree, while pink and red decorations adorned all the booths.
Sasha ran to Beth as soon as she got out of the truck. "You look amazing."
"Thanks, so do you." Sasha smiled at her as if she had a secret.
"Sasha… what is that smile about?" Beth looked over at Daryl when Bob walked up with little Bobby.
"We're having another baby!" Sasha squealed out loudly. Beth hugged her back as Daryl congratulated Bob.
Glenn walked up behind Daryl, handing him a ticket for a horse carriage ride. "Maggie told me to make sure you get this."
Daryl looked down at it and nodded back to Glenn. "Thanks."
Beth turned from Sasha and saw the look on Daryl's and Glenn's faces. "I know that look. What are you two up to?"
Without a word, Daryl grabbed her hand. They walked over to the carriage and he lifted her up, placing her inside. She smiled down at him, her eyes sparkling with the love he remembered.
As they sat down, Glenn handed them two cups of hot chocolate and a blanket. "Have fun you two."
Otis looked back at them as he pulled the reigns. Daryl pulled Beth close to him, sitting the hot chocolate beside him. He leaned over, taking her lips. "You know I love ya, but I forget to show it sometimes."
Beth kissed him back, letting her hand rest on his neck. "You do show me, but it's good to know you want more for the both of us. I got you a little something, but its back at the house."
"I got you somethang too." The smile creeping on her face did him in and he let her surprise slip off his tongue. "That rockin' chair you wanted is in Rick's garage. He's bringin' it over right now."
She wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him over and over. "I got those new field tipped bolts you wanted. The ones with the green fletching."
He palmed her face, staring back into her impossible blue eyes. "What did I do to ever deserve you?"
"You loved me." She said back as tears filled her eyes.
The carriage ride was over too soon for them as they had to untangle themselves from each other. Glenn helped Beth down as he wiggled his eyebrows at Daryl.
They headed over to the tarts table to see Annette and Hershel. Ann had two very special cherry tarts put back for them. Daryl looked into the box at the heart shaped tarts and smiled back at his mother in law.
"I can't wait to dig into this." Daryl dipped his finger into the tart and licked the fruity goodness from his finger.
Beth wasn't waiting. She picked up the tart and took a large bite. "Mom… you have really out done yourself." She said with her cheeks full of tart.
Daryl wiped the crumbs from her lips, smiling back at her. He wanted to lick her lips clean, plunge his tongue into her mouth and taste how sweet she was. As he pondered that thought, Hershel clapped his hand on his shoulder.
"Are you having a good time?" The look on Hershel's face made Daryl wonder if he was up to something.
"Yeah." Daryl answered him back slowly, trying to figure out his father in law's angle.
"Good. Beth looks good, better than she did when she came by yesterday." Hershel kept his hand on Daryl's shoulder and it finally hit him. Hershel was being the overprotective father.
"About that… I'm sorry." Daryl didn't know what else to say. He'd had a feeling Hershel was upset with him over the fact his daughter had been so unhappy lately.
"That smile on her face, I want it to stay there." Hershel said his peace and walked away, leaving Daryl feeling like an even bigger jackass.
He let the bruise and split lip on his wife's face eat a hole in him. It grew into a festering sore that he wouldn't let heal. Not being able to take his anger out on Len or Joe only made matters worse. He kept all his emotions bottled up and had hurt the one person he loved more than life itself.
Maggie was right, he needed to get his shit together or Len would win. What he did to Beth couldn't be undone, but Len spending a few months in jail would help calm his anger. Punching Joe had helped quell the need to get revenge,, but if he ever saw Len again, he was going to settle the score.
Beth saw a cotton candy booth and pulled him towards it. She got a large bag of the pink fluff and pinched off some for him. "Remember?"
He took the sugary fluff in his mouth, licking it off her fingers. Things went from sweet to heated and he needed to get her home. "I'll never ferget."
They shared a heated stare and Beth got the message. He wrapped the cotton candy back up as her blue eyes flashed a dark shade of want. "Let's go home."
People tried to stop them to chat but they ignored them as they race back to the truck. Daryl could feel his want, his need for his wife burning in his belly. He hadn't felt that fire in so long he'd forgotten how intoxicating it could be.
Their clothing was starting to peel off when they walked in the house. Beth was holding Daryl's tie as she pulled him to her. Her lips were taking their time tasting him. Daryl began to unbutton his shirt as she watched. After he loosened his tie, he slowly pulled the shirt off his shoulders and her core clenched.
Daryl wanted to jerk her sweater dress off, but he owed this to her. She was in control, her every wish was his command. Once his pants were at his feet, he watched as her hand slipped into his boxers. Her small hand slowly moved to his cock, making the tip of it jerk.
"Beth… please." He was begging and she loved it. Her blue eyes lifted up to his and she smiled.
Her hand had barely grazed his dick when she pulled it back out and grabbed his tie again. She pulled him behind her as they walked into the bedroom. She placed Daryl by the bed and pulled on the tie to make him sit. He watched as she removed her boots and tights. His cock sprang up hard when she wiggled her panties off. She kicked them at him and he caught them, putting them to his nose.
"God… I can't wait to be inside you." He dropped her panties to the floor and moved to take the tie off. Beth's eyes snapped up to him as she pointed her finger.
"Do not take that off." Her blue eyes locked on his and he dropped his hands to his side.
She hiked the dress up to the top of her thighs and straddled him. He placed his hands on her hips, feeling how hot she was against his erection.
"Lay back." Beth's inner sex goddess had come out to play and Daryl was ready for whatever she had in mind.
Daryl laid back, feeling her slide his boxers down. She lifted up, then lowered her hot, wet core down over his throbbing manhood. He let out a growl as she took all of him, her hand wrapping around his tie. Daryl sat up slightly as she pulled him up for a kiss.
"Baby, what do you want?" His hands held her to him as she wiggled her hips.
Her lips rested at his ear, letting her teeth nibble at his lobe. "I want you to be a good boy and do what I say."
Daryl pulled back from her, seeing the want dripping from her eyes. She pushed him back down on the bed and continued to ride him with the tie still in her hand. She moved her hips in such a languid pace and with such perfection that Daryl could feel his self-control all but gone.
He gritted his teeth, trying to hold back the orgasm that was surging from the depths of his desire. "Beth!"
The feel of her hands on his chest, the soft fabric of her dress teasing his stomach and sides, the constant pressure of her core milking him and the sounds rolling from her perfect pink lips finally did him in.
"Daryl… don't you cum… not yet." Her command was a stern one as she increased the speed of her gyrations.
His climax was on him, causing his balls to tighten up and his fingers to dig into her hips. "Fuck… Beth… I need to cum."
She let out a loud, passionate scream as her body quivered in his arms. "Daryl… now."
They came together and at that moment, Daryl thought he would surely die. His delayed satisfaction had not only allowed him to share his bliss with his wife, but also get him off so good he could feel his body prickling with electric jolts.
Beth bent down to him, pulling the tie from around his neck. She hung it over the post on the bed, smiling back at him. Daryl looked up at it, then back to her.
"There are a few things I could think of to do with that tie." Daryl looked back to his wife and that beautiful, devious smile of hers. He loved her, loved making love to her, but most of all, he loved being hers.
She slipped off the bed, taking her dress off. She unclasped her bra, letting it fall to the floor. Daryl lifted up on his elbows as she purposely swayed her hips. That sweet little ass disappeared out the door and he could hear the water in the bathroom come on.
"Beth. What ya doin'?" He asked her as he eased out of the bed. He made his way to the bathroom in all his naked glory. Beth was sitting on the edge of the tub, pouring some jasmine scented bubble bath in.
"You ready to clean up?" She slipped down into the tub, letting the suds cover her up to her chin. Daryl smirked at her as he slid in behind her, her body coming to rest between his parted legs.
His hands traveled over her breast, down her stomach and came to rest on her bump. "Happy Valentine's Day." He said softly to her, causing her to shiver.
"Best one I ever had." She laced her fingers into his, feeling a tiny kick.
Daryl's face lit up as he felt his babies move, rolling over to one side of Beth's belly. Beth pressed his hand into the left side of her bump as their tiny little feet pressed against her.
"Guess our night is over." Daryl kissed her neck as he continued to stroke her belly.
Beth turned her face up to him, her smile so mischievous it sent chills down his spine. "Oh no, husband. The night has just begun."
