A/N: I have skipped forward a little in time.

Alex leaned against the wall and smiled as she watched Olivia interact with Jonathan. Her cast had been removed the week before and since then every chance she had she was playing with him. In the past she had several friends who had children that always told her there was nothing sexier than watching their spouse with their children. She always laughed at them not understanding what they meant and would say if you say so, until now. Now, as she watched Olivia tickle Jon and make faces she finally understood what they meant. Because, to her, watching Olivia interact with Jon was sexier than any outfit she could wear or anything she could do.

"Looky there" Olivia said as she raised Jon up and turned him toward Alex "It's your momma."

Jon began to kick his legs and flail his arms as Alex walked toward him. He may have been born under duress and a very unhappy situation but you would never know it to look at him.

"Hey handsome" Alex said as she picked him up and placed kisses on each of his cheeks before leaning down and kissing Olivia "You have no clue what a turn on it is to see you with him."

Olivia inhaled and exhaled slowly as she felt the familiar warmth flow through her and a smile crossed her face "Actually, I think I do because I get the pleasure of watching you with him."

"How about I go and lay him down and then we cuddle on the couch and watch a movie." Alex said as she pulled Jon tighter against him.

Olivia studied Alex's face as she held Jon. She could tell by the darkness in her eyes that she had had a rough day and the only thing that ever helped her was holding her in her arms. She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief realizing that even though she was wheelchair bound she was still able to bring comfort to her.

"You ready for me…" Alex said stopping mid sentence when she realized that Olivia was already on the couch "How did you?"

Olivia smiled at Alex as she patted the seat next to her "Kathleen has been helping me become more independent during the days you're at the office. One of things we have been working on is me being able to transfer myself from the wheel chair to anything else. You're working longer days now and the last thing you need to do is to have to come home to care for your disabled wife. I figure it's the least I can do to help you out."

"You help me everyday just by being in my life" Alex said as she stretched out on the couch and laid her head on Olivia's lap.

"Want to talk about it?"

"Not really."

"You know I'm here when you are ready to." Olivia answered as she ran her fingers through Alex's long blonde hair.

Alex only nodded as she stared off into space. After a few minutes she rolled over so she could look up at Olivia.

"What?" Olivia said looking down and seeing that familiar twinkle in Alex's eyes. She used to love it when she saw that look in her eyes but now it just brought her heartache and pain.

"Let's go away on a vacation." Alex finally said "Just the three of us. What do you say? Just pack up and take off."

"Where do you suppose we take off too?'

"Our beach house" Alex said with a smile on her face "The weather is turning warmer and you use to love going there."

"That was back when I could go on the beach." Olivia stated looking away. How could Alex bring that up?

"You still can." Alex stated sitting up and twisting so she could look at Olivia "When I discovered that the chances of you walking again were slim to none I had a contractor go out to the beach house."

"What?"

"I had the beach house completely redone. It's a hundred percent wheelchair accessible now and I had them build a platform out onto the beach so you can still go on the beach. Once you reach the end all I need to do place you on your beach towel. Not that it matters because I would gladly carry you wherever you want to go on that beach."

"Thought of everything didn't you."

Alex stood and began to pace the living room "I try. I want to make it so easy for you and I'm willing to do anything to help you. Since the accident and everything that happened I don't feel like we are connected like we once were. I don't know" Alex ran her fingers through her hair as she continued to pace "I guess in my mind a weekend away will help us reconnect." Alex turned and started to head toward the stairs "Just forget I said anything."

"You know our anniversary is coming up." Olivia said as she transferred herself from the couch and back to her wheel chair so she could go to Alex.

"Next week." Alex answered turning around and dropping to her knees so she could look Olivia in the eyes "They have been the best four years of my life."

"Mine to" Olivia whispered as she reached out and connected her hands with Alex's "I know I haven't made it easy for you since the accident and you still fear me leaving. Don't deny it I see the fear and worry in your eyes when you open the door and then the relief that floods them when you realize I'm still here."

Alex hung her head in shame,

"Hey don't hide." Olivia said lifting her head so she could look into her eyes "I don't blame you. I would probably feel the same way. Which is why, I think spending the weekend at the beach house is perfect."

"Really?" Alex asked her whole face lighting up.

"Yeah really" Olivia said with laughter "But do you think you could make it a week instead and bring Kathleen along. There are a few nights I want my beautiful wife to take me out on the town and we'll need a sitter."

"I'll make it a month if you want." Alex said as a huge smile crossed her face "Hell we can sell this place and move there."

Olivia threw her head back and laughed. This was probably the happiest she had seen Alex in well over a month and she just realized how much she had missed it. "Slow down tiger I think a week will be a nice beginning."

"Yes ma'am" Alex answered jumping up and kissing Olivia before reaching for the phone "I'll call Elliot and see if he doesn't mind if Kathleen comes along."

"I'll get your son" Olivia said as Jonathan started to cry. She was beginning to realize he had an internal clock to when they were trying to have a moment.

"Hey" Alex whispered as she reached out and stopped Olivia from turning away "I love you."

Olivia bit her bottom lip as she looked into those crystal blue eyes with a hint of gray in them. Less than thirty minutes prior when Alex came home they were dark and distant. Now they held that steady twinkle and happiness that always made her heart speed up. That was the look she was so grateful that she was going to spend the rest of her life seeing.
