"Victor, we shouldn't be this close," Evelyn whispered, pulling on Victor's hand. "The police station is a few minutes away, we'll be caught."

"Evelyn, we'll be fine," Victor mumbled.

"I don't want to be sent to Arkham so soon after our wedding, Victor," Evelyn pulled on his hand again.

Victor sighed and put his knives away before turning to look at his wife. "Dear, are you truly so worried we'll be caught?" He asked.

Evelyn nodded, staring down at their feet. Victor reached out and gently tilted her head up. She had no choice but to look at him. Tears welled up in her eyes.

"I don't want to be taken away from you so soon, Victor," She whispered, her voice thick. Victor smiled slightly and gently wiped away the tears that spilled over.

"I don't either, love," He mumbled, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Just one, I promise, and then we'll stick closer to home."

"You promise?" Evelyn asked.

"Of course."

"Say it."

"Say what, love?"

"Say that you promise."

Victor sighed before nodding. "Alright. I promise that we'll stay closer to home, love."

"Good. Now, let's find a zombie."

Evelyn sighed, slowly dipping herself into the hot water of the bathtub.

"Mmm," She leaned back against Victor who wrapped his arms around her. "The perfect way to relax."

Victor smiled and nodded, tilting his head back. "I used to think moments like these were a waste of time," He muttered. "But you've shown me that I was wrong."

"Mmm," Evelyn hummed, her eyes slipping closed.

"Are you falling asleep, my Evelyn?" Victor teased, tilting his head so he could see her face.

"Hm, uh-uh," She shook her head slowly.

"Are you sure?"

"Mmhmm."

"Alright," Victor said.

A few moments later he heard her snoring and chuckled quietly to himself.

His brow furrowed.

Was that- yes, he could hear a faint knocking on the door.

Victor groaned.

It was two in the morning. Who would be coming around at such a time?

No matter, he couldn't get up and check, not with Evelyn laying on top of him in the tub.

"Open up!" He heard a gruff voice demand.

Victor froze. That almost sounded like-

"Zsasz, open the fucking door!"

"Evelyn," Victor hissed.

"Mmm...wus wrong?" She mumbled sleepily.

"The police are at the door."

"What?!" Evelyn shot up causing the water to slosh and jostle around in the tub.

"We need to leave," Victor hissed. The two got up out of the tub and quickly hunted for any clothes left in the bathroom.

"Window?" Evelyn asked.

"Wind-"

CRASH

"Freeze, you sick fuck!" Bullock growled, his gun aimed on Victor. "Hands above your head!"

"Well, Officer Bullock. We weren't expecting you," Victor muttered, raising his hands above his head. He'd luckily found a pair of boxers. "You'll excuse us for our lack of dress, won't you? We were just taking a bath."

"Raise your hands, criminal," Another officer snapped, their gun trained on Evelyn. She, unfortunately, had only been able to wrap a towel around herself before the officers had burst in. The only reason the towel was staying up was because she was holding it up.

"Do you mind if I don't?" Evelyn asked. "I'd rather stay covered."

"Well, ain't that a fucking shame? Hands up," The officer spat.

"Christ, Jacobs, let 'er hold the towel up," Bullock snapped, shooting a look at his partner. "Montoya!" He yelled.

"What now, Bullock?" Montoya yelled from the other room.

"Go in the bedroom and grab some fuckin' clothes for Zsasz and Lennox."

"Didn't you hear, Officer?" Evelyn asked sweetly.

"What?" He snapped.

"It's Mrs. Zsasz, now."

Evelyn shivered, still slightly damp from their bath.

The van that they'd been shoved into had no insulation, leaving the inmates to freeze.

"I told you we should've kept as far away from the police station as we could, Victor," She mumbled petulantly.

Victor sighed from his seat across from her.

"I'm sorry, my love."

The man that she'd been sat down across from was creepy. He was bald on top of his head, and he was wearing gloves that you'd find on an evil scientist in the movies.

"You must be Evelyn Byrd-Lennox," He murmured. His voice set her on edge, giving her goosebumps.

"It's Evelyn Zsasz now, Doctor," She snapped irritably.

"Ah yes, of course. I read about your wedding in the paper. A shame I couldn't come. My name is Dr. Hugo Strange," There was this glint in his eyes that made her want to take a spoon or a fork and carve them out. He paused for a moment, looking up at the clock on the wall, and sighed. "They're late."

Evelyn furrowed her brow.

"Who is late?" She asked.

"The other patient, of course, Mrs. Zsasz."

"What other patient?"

"Why, your husband of course, Mrs. Zsasz."

"My husband?"

"Of course. In light of recent events, I thought it might be best to have a session with the two of you at the same time."

"Couples counseling?" Evelyn rolled her eyes. "I'm sorry, Dr. Strange, but if you wanted to do couples counseling, you should've taken on Harley and Joker."

"Oh, no no, of course not. I just wanted to get to know the two of you. I thought this would give me an interesting...insight into what exactly draws you to each other."

"Right," Evelyn looked at him skeptically.

KnockKnockKnock

"Hey, Dr. Strange, I've got your patient right here," A guard yelled through the door.

"Of course. Bring him in," Strange called.

The door opened and in walked a guard, pushing Victor along before him.

"Please, Victor, take a seat," Strange said, gesturing to the empty seat beside Evelyn.

Victor glared at him while the guard shoved him into the chair.

"Hello again, Dr. Strange," He muttered, his glare never wavering in intensity.

"Again? He was your doctor before, Victor?" Evelyn asked.

"Yes. Before I broke free and found you."

"Now that everyone has been caught up, let's get started, shall we?"
