Octachel II
"So, dude? When are you asking this 'mysterious chick' out?" My best friend Kyler teased me about my crush. I rolled my eyes and faced him, while shutting my locker.
"As soon as you're not around, because I seriously don't need pressure and embarrass myself by you" I half lied to him. The only reason why I didn't want him around was because I didn't want him seeing me asking out his sister.
Yep, I'm helplessly in love with my best friend's sister.
Kinda of cliche, doesn't?
"Aww... Is wittwe Jewemy-poo embarrassed by me?" Kyler pouted at me. I whacked his head "Ouch, man!"
"Stop mocking me, God!" I shrugged my shoulders and started to walk to Music class.
"Anyway, I'm really glad this chick isn't my sister, or I'd feel bad about kicking your podex" he confessed, patting my shoulder, carefree.
I'm in deep, am I?
Next class in my list was Art and, luckily, Kyler wasn't in that class. But Aria was.
Aria was already sit behind her canvas and analyzing her drawing, her head slightly tilt to the left, her eyebrows crutching a bit and the tip of her tongue outside her mouth. Her blonde curly hair was tied up in a bun, hold in place by a paintbrush. I smirked and gathered all my courage, taking the advantage we were alone.
"Hey, Ari" I greeted her, trying not to startled. Last time I did that, she covered me in paint, head to toe, pink. Never making the same mistake again.
"Hey, Jer!" she smiled at me, ignoring her painting for a second "What's up?"
"Nothing much... I just wanted to ask you something" I admitted, sitting next to her. Her eyes shoot back at me.
"If it's math homework, you're not getting it because I didn't do it" she joked to me. I smirked.
"No, is not about math... Is about something a little more serious" I confessed. She was serious, giving me her full attention "Ari, we know each other for years and, I always thought of you like a little sister-"
"Aww, thanks, Jer! I think the same way!" she cut me, smiling. I froze in my place. This is not how I imagined this confession.
"Aria, let me finish" I ask. Aria nodded and she made the gesture of zipping her mouth. I sighed "What I'm trying to say is that, I don't anymore" Now, it was Aria's turn to froze. She gasped and covered her mouth with her hands, her blue eyes widen big.
"Oh, Gods, Jer... I'm so sorry" she apologized "But, I can't..."
"You don't even want to find out?" I pushed a little, hopeful "I know you always say 'no' to guys, but-"
"No, Jer. You don't understand" she insisted, grabbing my hands to stop my rambling "I can't date"
"Wait, your parents don't let you date?" I figured out. Who else wouldn't allow their kids to date? "But, they let Kyler-"
"Kyler's situation is, um, different, than mine" she explained "Jer, is not about you. Is really not" she emphasized "I can't date any guy" I sighed, nodding in understanding.
"I'm sorry I wasted your time. Please, don't tell Kyler" I mumbled, before students came into the classroom.
I didn't speak to Aria the rest of the day.
"OK, what the Hell went down?!" Kyler pushed, once we finished lunch. I got slightly depress of Aria's rejection, and I was doing my best into avoiding the subject and her, so much, I went to have lunch in the library. Alone. But Kyler found me on my way to Chemestry.
"Stop saying those weird phrases, man" I tried to distract him. Plus, he always say those weird phrases and those actually drive me insane.
"I can't help it!" he complained. I simply rolled my eyes "My Uncles say them, my Aunts say them, my cousins- Hey!" Shoot, he figured it out! "Don't try to distract me!" he scolded me "Is this about the 'mystery chick'?" he asked, worry. I groaned and smacked my head against the desk.
"She said no" I summarized. I didn't want to get into details that I was a lousy best friend and ask his sister out behind his back, and she broke my heart into tiny pieces.
"I'm sorry, bro... Wanna go to my place to play video games?" he suggested. I shook my head. I didn't want to be close to Aria in any way "C'mon! We'll have the house for ourselves! Aria is going to this paint convention or something with Dad, across town! And Mom is gonna be a couple of hours late..." he tempted me. I glanced at him and sighed.
"Eh, why not?" I agreed. I surely hope I didn't regret it.
After school, Kyler and I went to his house. It's been a while since I've been to his house. It was this white two-store house, with a big garage and garden. Inside the house, the walls were covered in paintings (some were famous, some were from his Mom, some were from Aria).
"C'mon, we got here faster than Mom!" Kyler beamed "We can snatch some chocolate-"
"That explains the missing chocolate" a feminine voice was heard, making Kyler freeze in panic. From the kitchen, a woman with curly red hair, piercing green eyes and pale skin was smirking at us. She was wearing an apron over her skirt and shirt. She was barefoot and her hands were in her hips.
"Hey, Mom..." Kyler trailed out, making her roll her eyes.
"Nice try, young man. Hi, Jeremy, it's been a while" she greeted me. I gave her a small smile.
"Nice to see you too, Mrs. Dare" You see, Kyler and Aria's parents aren't married. Also, Aria and Kyler are adopted, which explains why everyone in the house has a different last name.
"Jer, you can call me Rachel by now" she waved it off "So, what bring you here and why is Kyler in the search for chocolate?"
"Well-"
"Jeremy was rejected. We need a boy's night!" Kyler cut me, embarrassing me. I face palmed myself. God, can this guy get more weird?
"I'm sorry to hear that, Jer. Why don't you boys go play video games and I'll bring you some snacks?" she offered.
"What about the chocolate?" Kyler whined.
"The chocolate is for your sister and she called me at lunch saying she need it because she was down" Rachel scolded her son. Kyler frowned.
"Why would Aria need the chocolate? Jeremy needs it more!" Kyler complained. I stopped him.
"Kyler, it's fine! Let's go play video games" I pushed him to the stairs up to his room.
After three hours of playing video games, I was exhausted and depressed again. Luckily, Aria hasn't come home yet and I could avoid it all the time in the world. But how I'm suppose to ignore her the next three years of high school?!
"May I come in?" Rachel's voice made me look away from the screen, that I was staring at it for the past ten minutes.
"Yeah, sure..." I replied, not really paying attention to her. When I actually turned around to her, I saw she wasn't alone: next to her was a man of 35 years, dressed in a simple suit. His blonde hair was straight and slightly long. His skin was pale and his eyes were sparkling blue.
He was Kyler and Aria's Dad.
"Mr. Simmons, I haven't seen you in-"
"Let's cut the formalities, Willows" he cut me, very impolite. I was taken aback and Rachel rolled her eyes, before shaking her head.
"Octavian, we agreed to be polite to the kid. Not scar him for life!" Rachel argued with him. He simply glared at her, but she brushed it off, like if it was a normal thing "Jeremy, we want to walk you about your relationship with Aria" I paled when she said those words to me.
"W-what relationship? She's my best friend's sister, nothing else. Nothing more..." I managed to say, without stuttering. Rachel gave me an understanding smile and kneeled next to me.
"Aria told me everything" Crap, now in deep! "Is true we don't allow her to date, because we were waiting for someone like you..." I turned my head to her confused.
"Let me put it clear to you" Mr. Simmons interrupted Rachel "If you ever push Aria into doing something she doesn't want to, if I find out she's not pure anymore, Kyler won't be your problem" he threaten me. I swallowed and nodded.
"Crystal" I squeaked out. Mr. Simmons walked out, leaving me alone with Rachel.
"He'll never admit it, but he's Papa bear with Aria" she joked. I gave her a smirk.
"Do I really have a shot with her?" I asked, hopeful.
"Yes"
Hello, guys!
First of all, I wanna apologize to the ones who believed that my Easter shot was offensive last week. You must understand that it was never my intention to offend anyone, and I'm deeply sorry if some of you did. I just wanted you guys knew that.
From the same chapter, I wanna congratulate Turquoise Crystal, pjoluver, Guest, Cynder2013, silverwolvesarecool, MyLittleBigBangSwitchAtOlympus and Finwitch1 for guessing Wisdom correctly (Peace and Victory simbolize the white dove, sacred animal of Aphrodite [Goddess of Love] and the Olive crown, symbol of Nike [Goddess of Victory]). Congrats to all who comment!
Next chapter would be Malcolm/Nyssa and, since this two are extremely inteligents (in each way) I decided to write it about an escape room. But, I'm bad at riddles and puzzle making. So, if you could give me any web site, any riddle you know, or puzzle (with the answers, please), comment and let me know!
On other stuff... TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF THE POLL! Yeah, starting tomorrow, I'll count down all the votes of all the options and, on the next chapter, I'll post the amount of votes and who's the winner! (there won't be a second round, sorry). Keep in mind, I'll count votes from here and Wattpad. The new story would be uploaded near June/July! I'll keep you update on that!
So, last time! This are the options to vote for
a- How I Met Your Father (How I Met Your Mother, genderbent. If I do this one, I'll need help on the script and who's playing who)
b- Chaos story (not Percy/anyone-else-but-Annabeth, it's PERCABETH. It'll take place a 3 years after BoO)
c- Pirates (warning! It's Octachel centric. And a little OOC)
d- Future Genderbent (like I've been doig in my 'Mortals Meet...' chapters)
e- Caleo return from Ogygia
