A/N: Two updates in one week, how are you all going to deal with this? It's been snowing a lot in my neck of the woods so aside for the Canada Woman's Hockey Gold Medal Game today - I had plenty of time to write. Being a proud Canadian and Productivity, that's how I roll in these blizzard conditions.

Prompts 521 to 530

In my mind, Danny is a jack of all trades – he has to be when he needs to deal with boring situations like court.

521. Describe in detail the most boring thing imaginable.

Steve sat listening to the defense attorney drone on and on about something or other, while his words started to blur together.

Danny sat next to him and he stared straight ahead - not really listening but pretending to be present and attentive in the court room. His hands, however, were busy with a grouping of coloured strings that Danny had clipped to his knee with a safety pin.

Steve recognized the strings because Grace has made him a bracelet with almost the same colours - he was wearing it now - but as Danny got to the end of the strings he started to work in reverse to undo all of the work he'd already completed.

"What are you doing?" Steve asked his partner as the court went into recess.

"Practicing," Danny said still in his trance-like state.

"Danny snap out of it!" Steve stated and snapped his fingers very close to Danny's nose. "We're in recess - we can get up and walk around. You need a break."

"What?" Danny asked and jumped.

"With the strings, what are you doing?" Steve asked and pointed at the safety pin.

"Practicing." Danny insisted.

"Practicing for what?" Steve asked.

"I can braid my daughter's hair perfectly." Danny boasted.

"So why do you need to practice that?" Steve asked with a shake of his head.

Danny shrugged, "to keep my sanity while sitting here in this courtroom. You know me well enough to know that if I really pay attention, if I really listen to what's going on, I'll start yelling and then I'll get kicked out and that could damage the case we've brought forward, so if I sit here quietly, and in a vague trance like state, doing something to keep my hands busy and my mind focused, I should be fine. I'd knit a scarf if I didn't live in Hawaii."

"You knit?" Steve asked as Danny unclipped the threads from his knee, stood and followed him out of the court room to stretch their legs.

"Oh yeah, scarves, hats, mitts, you name it, I can make them." Danny admitted nonchalantly. "Although, I'm probably out of practice because I really haven't picked up a set of needles since I left Jersey."

"So what you are saying is that you turn into an old woman when you're in court so that you behave yourself?" Steve asked mockingly.

"At least I'm not as bored as you are."

"True." Steve nodded. "So why not keep knitting and just sell the stuff you make online. We spend enough time in the courtrooms - you could probably make some good money."

"With shipping do you really think it's worth it?" Danny asked intrigued by the idea.

"I don't know, I'm no math wizard, but I'm sure we know someone that could figure it out for you." Steve stated.

"It would be better than braiding and then un-braiding these strings all the time. It gets to be almost as boring as the court proceedings." Danny admitted. "So we've solved my boredom issues, but what are we going to do about you?"

"I plot crazy antics that will piss you off, I'm good." Steve said and made his way back into the courtroom.

I had two ideas for this prompt. I decided to go with anxiety because the second was a little too embarrassing.

522. Describe your last visit to a doctor's office or hospital.

"I don't want to talk about it, Steve." Danny stated grumpily as they drove through the streets of Honolulu.

"It was just a doctor's appointment." Steve insisted.

"If it was just a regular doctor's appointment, why do you care so much?"

"Usually you blame me for bad appointments."

"And prolonged hospital stays, what's your point?"

"Well, if it was just a routine doctor's appointment, you wouldn't be so grumpy, and if it was all about me landing you in these situations then you'd be ranting my ear off, but your not doing either of those things, so what is it then? Are you dying?" Steve asked seriously.

"I'm not dying!"

"Was it a prostrate exam? That's nothing to be ashamed of. The first step to fighting cancer is an early diagnosis."

"I'd really be grumpy if it was a prostate exam, but it wasn't that."

"Then what was it?"

"My doctor says I'm physically healthy as can be, but he has referred me to a specialist." Danny spat and then sulked.

"A specialists, for what?"

"For anxiety."

Steve burst with laughter.

"It's not funny, and yes, it is your fault!"

I so much write a knock-knock joke, but it's not a cop out either.

523. Write a "knock0 knock" joke. Then use it in a story.

"Knock-knock," Steve said aloud with Danny at his back and poised for retaliation.

"Who's there?" A voice responded from behind the door.

"Five-O."

"Five-O who?"

"This isn't a joke, and if you don't open this door right now, I'm going to kick it in and arrest you!" Steve spat.

"Learn to have a little fun!" The young man stated as he opened the door and then put his hands up as he saw Steve's weapon.

"Where is Ian Wright?" Steve asked angrily when he realized that the adolescent before him wasn't the man they'd been looking for.

"He's gone, long gone, brah," The young man stated with a shake of his head.

"Where did he go?" Danny asked from behind Steve.

The young man shrugged. "I'm not his mother, I didn't ask. All he told me was that he had to skip town because Five-O was after him and that I should expect a visit from you. He took all of his electronics with him but his room is just as he left it, if you want to check it out."

"Why are you being so cooperative?" Steve asked suspiciously.

"Because I have nothing to do with this, nothing to hide, and only stupid people don't cooperate with police."

"So you would say that your roommate was stupid?" Steve asked.

"Stupid to think he wouldn't get caught. Stupid to think he was so much smarter than everyone else and to get so cocky, yes, I'd say he was a stupid individual but he paid his rent and that's really all I asked for when I advertised for a roommate. He's payed up till next September and said that if he didn't come back for his stuff that I was just to sell it and find a new roommate. More work for me, but he paid and was upfront about most of what was going on up until he just wasn't."

"Do you mind if we call in some of our friends from CSU?" Danny asked.

"Go to town - just have a better sense of humour about it." The young man stated and lowered his hands. "Do I need to stay or can I go?"

"We'll need you to stay in the event that we do find something." Danny answered.

The young man shrugged and sighed, "whatever you need officer," he said and lead Danny and Steve inside.

This is basically a summary of my dogs – Max – life. He's a spoiled rotten Australian Shepherd, but we love him to bits.

524. Summarize your dog's life in fewer than four paragraphs.

Steve and Danny sat out behind a police precinct - not their usual one - and watched as officers worked with the K-9 unit members.

"Do you really think this is necessary?" Steve asked and watched the police dogs and their handlers. Some of them ran through courses searching for things, others were in pens with men in thick suits that made them look more like zombies than trainers, but all together they put on a good show and the dogs worked hard.

"In this case, yes. A K-9 unit is just what we need." Danny answered. "Unless you want to sniff out the goods and the victims on your own - which I believe is another one of the many skills they did teach you in SEAL school." Danny mocked. "But wouldn't you find that degrading?"

Steve shook his head in disbelief.

"I know, its classified information," Danny said dismissively. "So I won't press the matter."

"They did not train me to be a bomb sniffing dog!" Steve huffed.

Danny chuckled.

"Whatever, Daniel, why can't we just use your dog. Isn't that the purpose of having one?" Steve asked grumpily.

"My dog, my prissy, 60 pound ball of fir who currently has bright pink claws and a crystal studded collar? Oh yeah, my dog may have a keen ability to sniff out cupcakes and pizza scraps, but my spoiled rotten household pet, can't sniff out drugs, or in our case, human beings held captive in shipping containers. I may be a cop, but I do not have a cop dog. I don't have a working dog, oh no, I have a twelve-year-old's best friend and princess puppy dog - who is a boy, by the way, he is a male dog and Grace knows that."

"What is the point in having a dog if you can't use it for anything?" Steve asked with a huff.

"Oh Trigger has a purpose. He does all the prewash before we load all of our dishes into our dishwasher. That's his job, as well as cuddles, and best friend when Grace is home without a human friend to hang out with. He also barks at people to scare them away from my house - mind you as soon as they get to the door the barking stops and he thinks they are his best friends so if it were a burglar, he'd show them all the best stuff in the house." Danny explained.

Steve rolled his eyes.

"You just wouldn't understand. You're not a dog person."

"I think I'd like one of those dogs." Steve stated and pointed across the field at the dog that has latched into one of the trainers padded arms and wasn't letting go.

"Of course you would, because it's just like you."

Sometimes you just need to take a minute to get away from everything and watch the world move on around you – except when its super cold and you can't actually go outside and it's been that way for six months. Someone people stop winter…I'm going crazy…make it stop!

525. Sit for 15 minutes in a tranquil place - the edge of a stream, the courtyard of a church, and empty field - opening all your senses. Write down what you notice.

Danny sat alone on a park bench looking out at the ocean and breathing in the salty sea air. It was a quiet, peaceful, place. Around him people moved about or stopped to sunbathe on the grass of the park, while others road bicycles or skateboards along the paths.

Many people recognized Danny as they moved about - he'd become something of a household name on the island of Oahu, and as long as people weren't bothering him on this morning – transitioning into afternoon - Danny didn't mind a smile and a wave from a stranger.

Danny had parked his car three blocks away and walked to this place, knowing that if his partner wanted to find him, he'd just track the car. But this moment of peacefulness had nothing to do with work. It was as far from work as Danny could get on a small island in a limited timeframe.

"Why are you avoiding me?" Steve asked as he sat down on the bench beside Danny and Danny sighed to himself.

"Because I'm on a break and I wanted some me time." Danny answered. "Can't a guy have forty five minutes to himself? How did you find me?"

"I tracked the car and when I found it empty I came to the park to see if anyone had seen you." Steve answered.

"I knew you would."

"There aren't many places that you could go, and why, all of a sudden, do you want alone time?"

"Because sometimes I just want some time to myself. There is very little peace and quiet in our line of work and sometimes it's just hard to deal with, but out here alone, with people moving about and recognizing me for the good that I do, has been nice. I get a wave or a thank you, and it makes the long days of stakeouts and car chases worth it. I just need time to put some things into perspective."

"I get that." Steve said with a nod and looked out at the water as a group of young girls from Grace's school walked by and greeted Mr. Williams.

"Hello girls, where's Grace?" Danny asked.

"She's getting extra help on her math homework." One young girl answered.

"That's my girl." Danny smiled and waved the girls onward.

"So that's why you come to this place." Steve laughed.

"I'm not guaranteed to see my Grace on my break but if I can, it's going to lighten my mood." Danny said as he stood. "Breaks over, are you coming?" He asked.

"I just started mine. I knew where to find you and now I think I'm going to take a little time to myself." Steve answered.

"Suit yourself. If you haven't eaten there is another really good food truck just on the other side of the visitor centre, just don't tell Kamekona about he competition."

"Thanks, I'll keep your secret." Steve said and waved his partner away.

This is me going of on a tangent. I'm sorry. You've been warned.

526. Complete the following sentence and then keep writing: "My First _."

"My first major arrest, as a detective, was a woman. Everyone thought she was a guy, at least that was the profile before I came along, but as I got deeper into the case, the profile started to fall apart, until I said 'I bet it's a woman' and low and behold I was right." Danny explained to Steve who had asked him the question in the first place.

"It's so rare to find a woman serial killer." Chin added in shock.

"I know, that's why she was so hard to catch. She'd been killing women, mutilating the bodies, but there was no sign of sexual trauma - just a complete hatred for the woman form." Danny explained. "At first the mutilations of the bodies didn't make sense to us. The killer wasn't taking trophies. She never went for the organs but she would peel back the skin, shave out parts of the body and then put the skin back. She'd break the ribs and reshape the torso. She'd cut the hair, paint the nails, and pose the bodies. Later, once we'd caught her, we found photographs of the bodies put together in books - like in photo shoots - and the media started calling her the Photoshop Killer." Danny explained.

"That's just gruesome." Kono said with a shake of her head.

Danny shrugged, "It really was a terrible string of murders but the media is just as bad with all their photos and photo-shopping otherwise gorgeous women. This woman went to the extreme and killed those girls, but it all had to do with body image. She was removing fat, slimming down legs, arms, tummy, and then pinning and folding the skin so that it would fit into this media image of what women should look like. Later in interviews with detectives, the killer confessed to her psychoses. She was just trying to give those women the unobtainable perfection that the magazines portray to young women. After that I wouldn't allow those fashion magazines in my house. Grace isn't even allowed to look at them now. It's unhealthy."

"I don't blame you," Steve said with a shake of his head.

"Even though the media got on board with the killings, and eventual the capture of the killer, we tried to keep the case as hush-hush as possible because people believe that the bad publicity would adversely affect the companies that were guilty of allowing that kind of manipulation to sell their products. I realize then just how corrupt the world really is. Protect the money, not the young women whose self esteem and body image will be affected by them being allowed to continue on as if nothing had happened." Danny huffed. "It was my first major arrest, and almost my last. I almost changed my whole career path after that, but then I realized that at least I'd been able to find that killer and take her off the streets. I can't even imagine how many women we saved by finding her, and that had to be enough to carry on. In the time since, I've saved many a life, and dealt with many cases that have made me question humanity, but I keep telling myself that I am working for the greater good - whether they appreciate it or not."

"The world won't change over night," Steve said sympathetically.

"But we have made positive change in Hawaii, so you have to take the good with the bad, I guess." Chin added.

Danny nodded.

"I'll never look at another magazine the same way again." Kono said and crossed her arms.

"Then some good has come out of this whole thing." Danny said optimistically.

This was just a terrible prompt. Not my favourite, but I did try to bring it around to be good in the end.

527. That time you peed your pants.

"It was a New Years Eve. We were in Time Square for the ball drop and then we got so drunk we didn't make it home. We made it back to New Jersey - barely. I woke up under the Hoboken overpass just as your exit the Lincoln tunnel and that's when I realized I'd messed myself." Danny explained as he sat wearing a miss matched assortment of party favours and not really caring about the embarrassing story he was currently telling. "I was 21, it was New Years. What a way to start a year. I've calmed down considerably since."

"I'll say. You don't even have a buzz going." Steve teased.

"Like I said, I've learned my lesson. I'm not that kid anymore, and I have vowed not to let any of my friends get that drunk ever again."

"What did your mother say when you finally did make it home?" Kono asked as she sat next to Adam on the sofa in Steve's living room.

"I got home just in time, she was about to report me as a missing person. I was in so much trouble for not calling her or anyone in my family that she swore up and down that I was dead." Danny explained and smiled. "She was too busy scolding me to notice the filth, and I was able to escape her fast enough to shower, change, vomit, shower again and run the cloths through a wash cycle before she asked what was going on."

"And when you told her she proceeded to burn the clothing you were trying to wash?" Steve asked mockingly.

"No, but she did run them through the wash a second time. I think she'd though that she could wash away my want, or need, to get that drunk ever again. It worked. I never got that drunk ever again, and I always had a way to get home, or I called to tell my mom where I was, even when I'd moved out."

"So is that the reason for her ranting when she comes to visit and you call her less then I do?" Steve asked.

"Yes," Danny nodded, "she needs to have me check in - often - and I figure that I call enough considering I live thousands of miles away, but clearly, in my mother's mind, I'm wrong."

Don't do it Chin! This is going to be another tangent and I'm sorry if I offend anyone with it.

528. Second Marriage.

"Don't do it!" Steve and Danny stated – ordered – together.

"What, guys, I'm ready!" Chin protested. "Really, Malia would have wanted me to move on and Leilani is a wonderful woman!"

"That's fine and good, and we totally approve of Leilani." Steve stated.

"Just don't marry her Chin!" Danny added with an overly exaggerated shake of his head.

"I agree with Danny. Don't do it!"

"Why not?" Chin asked. "My last marriage lasted less than a year, and then my wife was murdered. There wasn't even time to get over the honeymoon period. This isn't going to be like a second marriage."

"Oh yes it is!" Danny said and nodded.

"Because every bit about this second marriage will have to stack up to your first, and if it doesn't it will turn to disaster." Steve explained. "Because you and Malia were so happy together and so good for each other, and that life you were supposed to have together was robbed from you. You don't know what it's like to have a marriage fall apart because yours didn't."

"How would you know, you've never been married!" Chin accused.

"Steve's right, and because of that, a second marriage wouldn't be fair to Leilani." Danny stated.

"You don't know that for sure because you haven't married again."

"Why do you have to marry her? Why can't you just be with her and be happy?" Steve asked.

"Because I believe in the marriage, and I don't think just living with Leilani is fair to Leilani."

"So did I, I really did believe in marriage, and I tried it once, and it failed." Danny said.

"I'm happy with my relationship, and Catherine and I have talked about it and we don't see why it's so important to have a piece of paper to tell us that we belong to one another when other people in this world love each other and can't get married. Marriage isn't fair." Steve added.

"It's the twenty first century. You can live with a woman and not be judged." Danny added.

"So you won't support me if I told you that it was settled and I'm marrying Leilani?" Chin asked.

"We'd support you," Danny and Steve answered. "But we will continue to try and talk you out of it."

"I think this is the right thing for me and Leilani."

"Just be sure, Chin," Danny said, "and whatever you choose we're support you."

"Is it settled, are you marrying her?" Steve asked seriously.

"I haven't asked her." Chin admitted.

"Think about it." Steve added and he and Danny walked out of the office.

I didn't know what to pick so I filled a room with trash and let Charlie have fun. I was thinking of making this into a story about hoarders but then I realized that no one is going to do a better hoarder story than Chicago Fire and the Hoarder's house that collapsed.

529. Describe in detail an everyday object - a piece of fruit, a water bottle, or your beat-up old wallet.

"There's nothing here!" Steve said and Danny backed him up. "Nothing but garbage."

"You say garbage, be we say evidence." Max stated as he treed lightly through the old, abandoned, warehouse with Charlie Fong at his side.

"Take this water bottle for example." Charlie said and with a gloved hand he picked it up carefully. "It still has liquid and condensation in it. It's clean. The label isn't worn out or scratched. It hasn't been here long. I bet it belonged to our victim or our murderer. We may get DNA off of the bottle spout. We may get finger prints off the bottle itself."

"So you're going to comb through all of this trash, run down every finger print you can find and send us on wild goose chases?" Danny asked. "Is there ever such a thing as too much evidence?"

"Too much evidence will help us narrow it down." Charlie stated. "You go off and see if you can find any better leads and leave us to this puzzle. We'll see who catches your killer first."

"Is that a challenge, Charlie Fong?" Steve asked playfully.

"It is," Charlie stated.

"Challenge accepted! Let's go Danny."

"Whatever it takes to get me out of this trash heap," Danny stated and followed his partner out.

So this is the last one for this round and yes, it could be a stand alone story, but I stopped it where I did because the show already dealt with Kono and Adam – in a terrible way if you ask me and I was really disappointed but it's over and I don't need another mega story on my hands. Sorry.

530. Start a story with the line "Everyone whispered about _, but no on had the courage to talk to her."

Everyone whispered about Kono but no one had the courage to talk to her, expect for the friends who had been waiting and praying for her safe return, and now here she was just not in the way they'd thought she'd return.

A month prior to this encounter, they'd lost contact with Kono. She became a ghost - even to her friends who'd been in contact with her through the whole Adam debacle. Then suddenly, and without warning the news broke and every news media outlet jumped on board to paint Kono Kalakaua in a dangerously dark light once more.

"Kono what happened?" Steve asked as he pushed his way through the crowd and up to the woman in handcuffs.

"They think I killed him and helped Wo Fat escape!" Kono yelled over the noise of the crowd and the men leading her away.

"Wo Fat escaped?" Steve gasped.

"Again!" Danny was just as shocked.

"You guys have to get me out of this. Adam is still alive - not dead - but they think I'm working with the Yakuza now!"

"Shut your mouth!" one of the marshals stated as he pushed Kono toward an unmarked vehicle and away from her friends. "Five-O can't save you this time!"

"But I can!" A man stated as he stepped out of the crowd.

"Adam!" Kono cried.

"She's not the one you're looking for." Adam stated. "I am. I helped Wo Fat escape prison, and not because of the Yakuza. I did it for the CIA."

A hush, like a wave, fell over the crowd as people from all around them spread away from Kono and Adam, and the members of Five-O who rushed forward.

Steve punched out two US marshals to free Kono from their grip. Danny knocked another two to the ground as he followed his partner's lead.

"Move, now!" Steve yelled, grabbed Kono by the handcuffs and ran.

Danny did the same, only he grabbed Adam by the wrist and bolted in another direction. People started to scatter. Sirens began to wail, but the wave had receded and the Five-Os were gone.

Well that's all for now, folks. Hope you liked a second update this week. I've had a bunch of these prompts semi finished so now I'm working through them to get them done. I will run out soon and you will all have to wait for more, but for now, I'll do my best to keep them rolling in. Ciao!
