"So you're telling me that this kid is a prophet?" Dean asked as he paced the floor of the cabin. "And he has the weapon to kill Dick?"

"It would seem so." Alex rubbed her eyes. She had explained this to Sam and Dean a few dozen times while Kevin translated the tablet.

"Where in the hell are we supposed to get a—a 'righteous bone washed in the three bloods of the fallen'?" Dean grumbled.

"We start with the blood of a fallen angel." Alex said, picking up the small vial of Castiel's blood. "Check. As far as I know, the blood of the King of fallen man is Crowley."

"What about the third?" Sam asked, preparing the summoning spell for Crowley.

"It's the ruler of fallen beasts...so maybe an Alpha?" Dean offered.

"Yeah but you guys killed every Alpha there was." Alex said.

"Not quite, sweetheart." Crowley's voice said. "The Alpha vampire got away before Cas nuked the place."

"Where is he?" Alex asked.

"What's in it for me?" Crowley asked.

"How about I don't kill you yet?" Dean offered, brandishing his knife.

"Charming." Crowley mocked.

"Listen, we need your blood too." Sam said before the others could speak. "We need it to stop Dick. Will you help us?"

"Mmmmm...yes. But you get my blood last." Crowley smiled.

"Why?" Sam asked.

"Do you have any idea what my enemies could do with a vial of my blood?" Crowley said.

Alex crossed the small space between her and the demon and grabbed the front of his coat before slamming him into a wall. "Dick killed my mother. My children and my family are in danger. I could give a rat's ass about what your enemies will do with your blood because right now, you should be worried about me."

"It tickles me in places my bathing suit touches when you get all feisty, love." Crowley taunted. Alex tightened her grip on his coat and for a brief second, her eyes flashed yellow before returning to normal. "You'll get what you want all in good time."

"Cas, can you find the Alpha?" Alex asked, not taking her eyes off Crowley.

"Yes." Castiel's answer was quick.

"Then we don't need you." Alex growled. She pulled her knife from her pocket and pinned Crowley's arm down, bringing the sharp blade across his skin. Sam hesitated for a moment before placing a vial under the cut and allowing the blood to drip in. When they had enough, Alex released the King of Hell. "Get out of my sight before I kill you myself."

"What the hell was that?" Sam asked.

"I got what we needed." Alex wiped her knife clean on her jeans and put it back in her pocket. "I'm done trying to bargain with him. It's his fault that Cas even brought those things here so by extension it's his fault my mother is dead."

"Okay." Dean said after a moment of silence. "Sam and I will work on the righteous bone and you and Cas go get the Alpha blood."

"Let's go, Cas." Alex said. He brought them to a wooded area with a large house in the distance.

"Are you okay?" Castiel asked, watching her expression carefully.

"I will be as soon as Dick is dead." Alex didn't look at him as she started walking. It was hard to see the vampires guarding the house but when they were attacked, Castiel put the monsters to sleep. The Alpha was in his dining room, seated at a large table.

"Alex, what a pleasure to see you." The Alpha said. "Or do you prefer Alice?"

"You know why we're here." Alex said.

"For my blood."

"You promised me your allegiance once before."

"Yes, but you were to provide protection to myself and my children."

"If you want protection for your children now, then give me your blood." Alex walked closer to the Alpha.

"You're weaker now that both halves have been made whole." The Alpha looked bored.

"I'm still strong enough to kill you." Alex sat on the edge of the table and dangled a syringe of dead man's blood in his face. "I'm done playing, Alpha. Give me your help and I'll see to it that your children are safe from the Leviathans."

"What makes you think we need your protection?" The Alpha eyed Castiel as he stood near the back of the room, ready to strike if need be.

"What do you think will happen to you when the Leviathan kill all the humans?" Alex asked. "Dick Roman sees all things as roaches to be exterminated. He won't react well to sharing his food supply with others."

The Alpha considered this for a moment. "Dick Roman and I have an understanding."

Alex paused to sweeten the deal. "I can deliver Crowley to you. Do what you want to him."

"Are you offering me a deal?" The Alpha laughed while holding Alex's gaze. "I have no soul to barter with."

"I don't deal in the traditional sense of the word. Give me your blood and Crowley is yours."

The Alpha sighed and sliced his wrist with his fingernail, letting the blood pour into a crystal goblet before handing it to Alex. "Make good on your deal or I'll come for you."

"I don't break my deals." Alex promised and slid off the table, returning to Castiel. He took them back to the cabin and now all they had to do was wait for Sam and Dean.

"Are you really going to deliver Crowley to the Alpha?" Castiel asked.

"Don't you think he deserves it?" Alex fired back.

"I think that you're dangerously close to going too far in your demonic nature." Castiel grabbed her as she tried to walk past him. "Is killing Dick really worth becoming something Sam is going to have to kill?"

Alex stared at Castiel, unresponsive, as Sam and Dean returned with the bone. They prepared the weapon and made their plans. Castiel had tracked down the Impala and took Dean there so he could drive it back to the cabin. Their plan was to announce their arrival loud and proud. Castiel would go with Alex in the Impala while Sam and Dean snuck their way in. Before they left, Sam pulled Alex aside.

"Listen, if this doesn't go the way we planned you need to take the twins and run." Sam spoke quickly before Alex could interrupt. "You have to give them a chance for a normal life."

"It won't be normal if Leviathan are eating their friends." Alex countered. "We're going to kill Dick and then we are going to pick up our children and be a family for a while."

"And if we don't both make it?" Sam held her gaze.

"We will." Alex promised. She put her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, which he gladly returned, putting his arms around her and keeping her as close for as long as he could. Castiel cleared his voice which signaled that it was time to go. "I'll see you on the flip side, Winchester."

"Take care of my Baby." Dean warned Alex before hugging her. Alex nodded and then she and Castiel were gone.

"You know where you're going?" Castiel asked.

"I'm sure. It's his main office at his new business, Sucrocorp." Alex glanced at the angel and offered a smile. "Don't worry, Cas. We're going to stop him."

"Yes, but at what cost?" Castiel sighed.

"I'm not going darkside, Cas. I promise." Alex said. "I'll keep it in check."

"I am sorry about your mother." Castiel said. "And your step father. It's all my fault."

"It's okay." Alex cleared her throat. "If you would have known that it would happen, you never would have opened Purgatory."

Dick wasn't surprised when he heard the Impala coming down the highway. He had business to finish and wouldn't let those idiotic Winchesters and their pet angel get in the way of his food source. Besides, they'd be here soon enough. He had assumed Alex would be with the Winchesters when they arrived in his office, but she wasn't.

"Hello boys." Dick didn't look up from his paperwork. "You know, I'm going to have to make you boys pay for the sign that Alex just ruined."

"You can take it out of our asses." Dean growled.

"Oooh. Hold on to that bravado, Dean." Dick chuckled. "It's going to get you in trouble one of these days."

"I'm counting on it." Dean said.

Dick got up and walked in front of his desk as Alex and Castiel joined them. "Hello Castiel, Alex. It's always a pleasure to see you."

"Bite me." Alex said.

Dean walked closer to Dick with slow steps. "See, we've got a problem Dick. Your people are eating my people."

"Well, they are food." Dick smiled evilly, noticing Dean coming closer. Dean pulled the bone from his jacket. "Good for you. I'm assuming the prophet helped you with that."

"They are chatterboxes." Dean said. In a swift motion he shoved the bone into Dick's stomach. Dick pulled the bone from his body and grabbed Dean's throat, lifting him into the air.

"You're going to pay for that. All of you." Dick growled.

"Sam...now." Dean choked out.

Sam ran forward and shoved a second bone into Dick's neck. They had decided they'd have to take him in surprise to stop him and they were right. Dick didn't relinquish his hold on Dean's neck and a loud thrumming sound vibrated from him. Sam tried to pull his brother free before Dick died but to no avail. Dick Roman exploded in a spray of black good. Alex and Castiel shielded themselves from the spray and when they looked back, the Winchesters were gone.

"Sam?" Alex said to the room. "Dean? Cas, where did they go?"

"I...don't know." Castiel admitted. "We need to protect Kevin."

"They're-j-j-just gone...where did they go?" Alex stammered.

"Alex, we have to go." Castiel took her hand and flew them to Kevin before taking them both to Ellen's house. Ellen put up discreet angel and demon warding and waited for Alex to tell her what happened to the boys.

"Are they dead?" Ellen asked.

"I don't know." Alex admitted. "I'm going to find them."

"What about this Leviathan thing?" Ellen said. "Are they dead?"

"I don't know." Alex repeated.

"This was your stepfather's mess. It needs to be cleaned up." Ellen said.

"I need to find Sam and Dean." Alex said.

"Sam wanted you to let him go." Castiel interrupted. "He wants you and your children to have a normal life."

"Cas is right, Alex. It ain't about you anymore. It's about them kids." Ellen handed Alex a beer. "Once they find out Dick Roman is dead, you're the one to inherit all that money. Why not use it for something good?"

One year after defeating Dick Roman

"Where have you been?" Castiel asked Alex as she snuck into her bedroom. He was perched on the edge of the bed.

"Looking for Sam and Dean." Alex put down her machete, gun, and pulled the angel blade from her boot.

"Did you have any luck?" Castiel knew the answer.

"Not yet. But my next trip to Purgatory should be more fruitful." Alex flinched as she moved her arm, finally paying attention to the large gash in it.

"You can no longer go to Purgatory." Castiel stood and healed her arm. "Your children need you."

"You were here." Alex pulled her shirt over her head and discarded the dirty fabric on the floor.

"Sam is gone. You need to let him go."

"I can't, Cas."

"You have to. You've cleaned up your stepfather's mess. Let yourself be happy; start over." Castiel held her shoulders so she would have to face him. "Sam wanted that for you."

Alex had this conversation with Castiel several times since she found out that Sam and Dean were taken to Purgatory when Dick was killed. She stared at him with tears in her eyes. "I don't know how to anymore."

Castiel pulled her close and spoke into her hair. "I'll help you."

"Thanks." Alex moved away from him and wiped her eyes before dressing. She clicked on the baby monitor and crawled into the magnificent bed that came with her new house. "You can stay tonight, if you want."

"I'll watch over you." Castiel promised.

"No...I mean if you want to be part of my life, you can. But if you are, no angel mojo. We are a nice, normal family. The kids have playdates, they go to school. We go sit in the audience for their plays." Alex fingered the comforter uneasily.

"Are you sure?" Castiel asked, watching her face as she responded.

"Yeah." Alex cleared her throat. "It's killing me to go looking for Sam and Dean and then come home without them. I can't do it anymore."

Castiel nodded and even though he didn't sleep, he took off his coat, jacket, and shoes and then crawled into bed next to Alex. She smiled at him before rolling over away from him and started to cry softly. Castiel watched her shoulders shake before scooting closer to her and pulling her to him. He pressed a kiss to her hair and sang softly to her until she fell asleep.

The next morning, Alex was awoken by the smell of pancakes. When she went downstairs she found Levi and Madison in their respective high chairs, covered in chocolate chips. They laughed loudly as Castiel flipped the pancake.

"What's all this?" Alex took in the angel's appearance. He was dressed in jeans and a button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

"Starting over." Castiel said, handing her a plate.

"Did you do all this?" Alex asked with a bewildered smile.

"No, the maid did it. I'm only turning this last...pancake." Castiel remembered the word and smiled at her before wiping some chocolate out of Levi's hair.

"Starting over." Alex repeated the idea softly to herself as she watched him.
