Author's Note: Hello, ladies and gents. Todays episode of Beta is all about Aiden. It's kind of short but only because I wanted too be. My head wasn't really into this chapter as you may or may not see. Sorry. I think I'm not going to go through with this whole twice a week thing anymore. It's not because I'm growing lazy or anything. I just don't like to write Fridays and Sundays. But it's sad because those are the only days I'm able to write. Like, Friday, I was all energetic. While today and yesterday I literally didn't feel like writing this chapter. Even today I was thinking about saving it for next friday. But I wanted to bring you guys something. So, I think I'm just going to work on Fridays. Since Saturday and Sunday is basically my only time off, I don't want to spend it in front of a laptop for several hours writing a story. I hope you guys can understand. But I will tell you this, every friday I will update, no doubt about it. And if inspiration hits and I'm excited about the next chapter, like I really can't wait to write it, I'll do it on a sunday. Basically, don't get your hopes up on Sundays about a new chapter coming out. I know there are a couple weeks up ahead where I have Monday off from school (some kind of holiday or something). So I'll spend that Monday working on a Beta chapter and give you another one on Friday. Like I used too do. So, basically, Friday is a yes. Sundays is a maybe and Mondays when there is no school, a most definitely. So you may or may not get two chapters a week. I hope you guys can understand.
Strike OOO, I forgot. Something nice you probably said. Oh yeah! You said that the Nightmare story arc was when I was at my best. So I was happy about it. (Didn't actually cry. I'm too manly to do that lol.)Hey! I know those guys as well, lmao. But yeah, girls where I'm from (NYC) Tend to be shallow and stuff. But that's not the point. Basically, I'm changing my approach so that I don't become her friend when I talk to her. Because I really don't want to go through that whole friend-zone thing over again. Never, ever again! That shit really fucks up with your mind. So yeah... me and girls... not friends. We can be acquaintances but if I like you, I'm going to flat out say it. And if you don't like me back, end of friendship it is. I'm not looking to be friends with a girl that doesn't like me how I like her. Not going through that again. Never! Anyways, What do I have to do in order to get you into the Suicide Squad? Geeze. So closed-minded about them. You need to become open, dude. I don't want you to want them to be together lol. Like I stated last chapter, I love fucking with their heads, and possibly yours, but thats different lol. Please don't say Cletch lol. It's a bad ship name lol. We all gotta come up with something for them lol. Did you not get the whole "The President is working for the Light thing" I've been setting up since like, season 2? lol. Plus, after all of the bad publicity the FIVE had created about heroes, their are alot less pro heroes in this world lol. Especially in that last battle with the FIVE where everything was getting fucked up. Buildings, cars, etc. A lot of destruction tends to make people unhappy. Especially the government.
Lia, Aww, you like Aiden. It's about time somebody openly admitted they liked him. Ever since he betrayed Beta he's been on you guys shit list lol. But I definitely liked your points. Yikes, SAT. Thank God I never took those :p Yeah, the last chapter was definitely touchy feely lol. And that was totally not intended. It sort of just came to my mind while I was writing. You guys influence me and the things you say make me write things I didn't really plan on writing in chapters. Like the whole Ethan and Lucy thing was to fuck with their minds and Strike's. Mission Accomplished! lol. What do you mean it's going to revolve around Anti-Heroes? Can you explain that? I don't see how it is lol. The President and the people of America have plenty of reasons to hate heroes. Nightmare is the great point I can give. Nightmare hates Batman because Batman led to Nightmare's father death. His father's death led to his mother becoming a drug abuser who eventually died. Basically, it was Batman's fault that Nightmare ended up in the hands of Ra's. So, Nightmare hates the shit out of Batman. Especially since he found out that Ra's wanted Batman to be heir more than he did Nightmare. Bam!
Overlord Susanno, You want Dante to comeback but not lead Beta. How would you want him to be then? lol. Also, isn't he already badass? I mean, he killed ninjas and Ra's Al Ghul. What more can you ask for? How would I make him more badass?
RtheAwesome, Is that a good wow or a bad one? lol. Help me out here.
Cheers to 400,00+ words of Beta. That's like a thousand+ pages book lol. Also, to 53 chapters! May we have 53 more! Here-Here!
Enjoy the show guys and remember to read, rate and review
Thank you!

It was lunch time in the super powered criminal facility as Aiden sat a table by himself, eating his food and looking around cautiously for anyone that wanted to mess with him. Ever since he landed in this hell hole, he had been beaten up more times than he could count. At this moment, Aiden had a bruised rib and his face was covered with bruises and cuts. Even without their powers, the bastards held up in this prison were pretty good at beating people up. Aiden tried defending himself but he was all alone in there. Nobody to help him out. At least, except for his cell mate. But he was pretty damn useless. As useless as Aiden was without his powers. How dare the Light keep him in this god forsaken place. After everything he had done for them. The people he had betrayed. People he had once called friends. How could he be such a fool to rely on a organization ran by villains. They didn't care about their foot soldiers. No! All they cared about was each other. Vandal, Lex, all a bunch of selfish assholes. Aiden wondered what they would have done in his current predicament.
Aiden heard the footsteps of someone approaching him from behind. The person slammed his tray of food onto the table making Aiden flinch, thinking they were going to attack him.
"Relax," His cellmate said. "It's just me."
Aiden sighed in relief. "Stop doing that, you idiot."
His cell mate rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Whatever, man."
"Why are you sitting with me? Shouldn't you be kissing your father's foot or something?" Aiden asked as he gave his cellmate a cold look.
"Look, just because I don't help you out when he whoops you, doesn't mean I like him. Ever since I've been stuck in here I've seen how much of a douche he is."
Aiden shook his head. "Ice Jr is so scared of daddy."
"Apparently," He pointed at Aiden's bruised face. "I'm not the only one."
"I'm not scared of him." Aiden turned his head to use the corner of his eye to observe Ice Sr as he sat with his goons.
"Then why are you shivering?"
"Because you're made out of ice, you idiot. You make me cold." Aiden said as he looked at Ice Jr in annoyance.
"Yeah, whatever. I thought you couldn't get cold."
"Without my powers I'm as useless as Batman."
"Batman would whoop anybodies ass in here."
"You seem to admire him. Maybe I should tell your father."
"After he whoops your ass?" Ice pointed out with a grin. "Yeah, I don't think so."
Aiden growled as he glared at Ice. "Your father thinks he's all big and bad because he's bigger than me. He'll get what's coming to him. You just watch. I'm tired of standing by while he kicks my ass." He poked Ice in this chest. "Because some wimp doesn't want to stand up to his father."
"Screw you, man. You try fighting your own father. It's hard to fight him. He's so…"
"Intimidating to you? You've killed many times. I don't see how you can't stand up to your father."
"If you was in my position, you would know how I feel. But, you don't. So stop pressuring me to do something I'm not. Besides, keep talking shit and he'll kill you next time. You let that mouth of yours run and it's going to lead you to a early grave."
"I'm not scared of him!" Aiden unknowingly shouted loud enough for everyone to hear.
Ice watched as his father and his friends walked over to Aiden. "Prove it."
"Speak of the devil and he shall come." Ice Sr said as he now stood in front of the seated teens. "You talking about me, water boy?"
One thing Aiden had learned from being in this place was that he couldn't back down. No matter how scared he would get, he would have to find courage from somewhere inside of him and stand up for himself. On his first day, he didn't do that because he was frightened. The Light left him for dead and he was vulnerable. Ice Sr saw that vulnerability as a weakness. So since then, Ice had been picking on and beating up Aiden. Aiden has now learned his lesson but Ice continues to pick at him. Making him want to leave this place and come back just to kill Ice Sr.
Aiden swallowed hard and found some courage in himself. He stood up and looked up at Ice Sr. "What if I am?"
Ice Sr rested a heavy hand on Aiden's shoulder and shoved downward, pushing the boy down until he was seated again. "Sit down." Ice Sr gave one of his people a nod. A big guy as tall as Ice Sr cocked back a fist and punched Aiden in the jaw, making the teen fall out of his chair and on to the floor in front of Ice Sr.
Ice Sr crouched down in front of Aiden as Aiden wiped the blood off his mouth. "I admire your courage. But sometimes," He raised Aiden's jaw so Aiden could look at him, "you need to shut your mouth." He squeezed Aiden's jaw which made Aiden wince in pain. "Because your mouth is going to lead to a accident. A accident nobody is going to be able to clean up. You understand, water boy?" When Aiden looked away, Ice held Aiden's jaw with a vice grip making Aiden hold back a scream of pain. "Look at me!" Aiden reluctantly looked up to Ice's cold eyes. "Do you understand?" Ice said slowly so Aiden could comprehend. Aiden gave Ice Sr a dirty look but nodded. Ice Sr smacked Aiden's face gently. "Good boy."
Ice stood straight as he looked down at Aiden with a smirk on his face. "Thanks for the food, kid." Ice said as he grabbed Aiden's tray of food and walked away with his goons.
Aiden's stomach growled as he watched Ice Sr walk away with his food. Since Aiden had been in that place, he didn't eat as much as he usually did. Mostly because of what just happened. This made Aiden more skinnier and crave food. Every single day at lunch time, he would get a few bites in before Ice Sr swooped in and took his food away. Aiden was tired of this bullshit.
Ice Jr waited until his father left to stand up and offer his hand to help Aiden up. Aiden smacked Ice Jr's hand away and slowly got back up to his feet.
"Thanks a lot." Aiden stated sarcastically as he stared into Ice Jr's eyes. "What use are you? Why do you exist?" Aiden's shoulder bumped into Ice Jr's as he walked away with his fists clenched.
Wanting to hurt somebody but knowing he can't without his powers. He swore that when he got out of that place he was going to start training without his powers. So people like Ice Sr never messed with him again. Prison made him realize that he couldn't always rely on his powers. Especially if their nullified like they are now. Aiden is useless and wasting his life in this place. Aiden has never felt more anger than he does now. Last time he came as close to this amount of anger was when he was living with his mother and Dave in Central City. Dave felt first hand what Aiden was capable of. Soon, Ice Sr was going to feel the same way.
A few hours later, Aiden was laying on the top bunk of the bunk bed he shared with Ice Jr. He had his fingers connected on his chest while he stared up at the ceiling. If only there was a way to get out of this damn place. Aiden would do anything to get out of this place and be away from these ignorant thugs. While deep in thought, Aiden tried thinking of ways of killing Ice Sr without his goons or Ice Jr being present. All he had to do was get his powers back and shove as much water as he could into Ice Sr's body. Making him die slowly as the water overwhelms him. Yeah, that's it. Drown him. One of the many methods Aiden had thought of for Ice and his goons.
"Hey," Ice Jr said as he got off his bed from below Aiden. He looked up at Aiden but Aiden didn't pay him any mind. "What you said earlier was uncalled for. I'm plenty useful."
"Don't expect a apology." Aiden stated coldly.
"I don't expect one." Ice started pacing back and forth. "You have no idea what it's like having that man as your father. Trying to live up to his expectations so he would be proud of you but in the end, he never is. To be in his shadow all of these years."
"That should give you the fuel to beat the crap out of him."
"I know!" Ice exclaimed. "But it's not that simple. What am I going to do? Fight him? He would kick my ass. Just like you, I'm useless without my powers. Plus, I'm going to be in here for a long time. Might as well have him as a ally then a enemy. Or else-"
"You'll end up like me: alone, constantly getting beaten up, food getting taken away from you."
"Basically. And I don't want that. You know? I'm not going to say I'm sorry but I just can't help you."
"So the point of this conversation was?" Aiden asked as he moved his head to the left to address Ice.
Ice shrugged. "I don't know. To defend my case?"
Aiden shook his head as he went back to staring at the ceiling. "Idiot."
Just as Ice Jr opened his mouth to say something, a beeping sound echoed throughout their cell. Before they knew it, the collars wrapped around their necks snapped open. Aiden's eyes widened in happiness. He finally found hope in this dump. Now it was his time to get his revenge. Aiden threw the collar to the ground practically jumped out of his bed in anticipation.
"Hey, we got our powers back." Ice Jr pointed out the obvious.
"No shit, Sherlock." Aiden grinned happily. "Not it's time for payback."
"Against who? My father? Are you crazy?"
Aiden glared at Ice Jr. "Yeah. You going to stop me? Going to tell Daddy I'm coming after him?"
Ice Jr clearly thought about it. "No."
"Then join me. With out powers back, we can put your father in place. Tell him not to mess with us."
"But what if the Justice League comes in and cleans house? He would kick our ass as soon as they leave."
"He won't have the chance to fight back. Believe me. When I get my hands on him. He'll never forget me." Aiden put his hand out for Ice to shake. "You with me."
Ice put his hand out but froze as he contemplated this. In the end he said, "Yeah."
Aiden nodded with a wide smile on his face. "Alright. Let's go get him."
A few minutes later, the two were out of their cells and walking around as prisoners ran amuck, trying to find a way to get out of the prison. As they walked, Aiden saw Ice Sr commanding a bunch of prisoners to open the door in front of him. Supposedly, it led to the way out.
"Senior!" Aiden yelled loud enough for Ice Sr and his goons to hear.
Ice Sr cursed under his breath, knowing he was no match for Aiden without his freeze guns. He looked at Mammoth who was working on a giant door for Ice Sr, "Go take care of the runt."
Mammoth nodded and charged toward Aiden while Aiden brought his arm up, palm out and blasted Mammoth square in the chest, sending the giant flying through the air until he hit one of Ice's goons.
"Don't worry, Ice. This will only take a minute." Aiden stated with a grin as he walked toward Ice Sr.
Ice Sr retreated but had nowhere to go. They hadn't open the doors like he had asked and Aiden was getting even more closer to him. "Jr! Take care of him!" Sr commanded his son.
Aiden chuckled. No way, Sr. He's on my-" Aiden was interrupted by Ice Jr freezing his legs. Aiden glared at Ice Jr as his upper body started to get frozen solid. "Jr! What the hell?!"
"Sorry, man. But I'm looking out for me." Jr replied.
"Idiot!" Aiden shouted before being shut up by Ice Jr completely freezing him.
Sr started laughing as he approached Aiden's frozen statue. "Stupid kid." He looked at Jr seriously. "You seriously was considering working with this kid?" He punched Jr in the face. "Don't ever plot to betray me again. Understand?" When Ice Jr just laid on the floor not saying anything, Sr looked at Mammoth as the giant stood up. "Shatter him."
Mammoth nodded and walked over to Aiden's frozen body. He cocked back a fist and released, shattering Aiden's body into millions of frozen little pieces.
"Well, that gets rid of him." Sr said. "Now get back to work on that door." He looked at his son as Mammoth moved toward the door. "Go help them, now!" He commanded. Jr reluctantly followed his father's command and moved toward the door.
While everyone was doing their assignments, they didn't notice that the ice Aiden was once covered in was now melting. At a extremely rapid pace, all of the ice disappeared and turned into water. As Sr stood in his current spot, commanding his troops. He didn't happen to see the water forming behind him. Aiden was now back to his original self as the water started transforming him. Aiden walked toward Sr and turned him around. He wrapped his hand around Sr's neck and squeezed as tight as he could. The sound of Sr gasping couldn't be heard by his troops due to the all the noise they were making just trying to open the door.
"I've been waiting to do this for quite some time." Aiden stated as he put a hand on Sr's open mouth. "Good riddance." Aiden said as he had water come out of his hand and into Sr's mouth.
It took a few seconds but Sr was throwing up water. Or at least, he was trying too. But Aiden didn't let the water out. He wanted it to drown him. To make his lungs shrink. It took a matter of seconds to finally kill off Sr however. The rest of his troops still hard at work, not even noticing their boss was dead. Aiden let go of Sr's dead body and was about to walk toward the door to finish of Jr and the goons before a wall on his right side blew up, engulfing the area in debris, dust and smoke. Jr and the goons were laid out while Aiden stood in his spot, wondering what the hell that was. After waving the air in front of him to clear the smoke blinding his eyes, he finally saw what, or who it was.
"Hey, my favorite people in the whole wide world. About time you guys came." Aiden said with a twisted smile.
To greet him, a long, stretched out fist crashed into Aiden's face, launching the teen backwards until he hit a pillar. Aiden felt in even more pain, with the bruised ribs and all. Aiden was going to make sure to thank the person that just hit him.
"That's not nice." Aiden said as he started to slowly get up from the ground. He wiped the dust off his orange jumpsuit and looked at the group in front of him. "That's no way to greet a former member."
"You was never one of us!" A girl's voice yelled in anger.
"You sure about that? You guys practically handed me a membership card." Aiden retorted as he narrowed his eyes on the group.
The leader of the group seemed to have taken in his surrounding. "You killed Icicle Sr?"
"Yep." Aiden said proudly which also said so on his face.
"Why?"
"Because he was a douche. Do I need more of a reason?" Aiden sighed. "Alright. Let's skip the pleasantries. What are you doing here, Beta?"
"To stop a prison riot." Alex lied.
"I can help with that." Aiden offered with a smile.
"What do you want in return?" Alex asked skeptically.
"Are we seriously considering to help this jerk?" Ethan asked the group.
"Hell no! Let's knock him out and leave him where he stands." Lucy added.
"I agree with Lucy." The twins said in unison.
"I do too." Madison said. If she had heat vision, their would be a hole in Aiden's head by now.
Aiden shook his head. "Look. I'm no longer with the Light. They left me here to rot. You let me out of here and I promise you I will never show my face around you again." Aiden looked at them sympathetically. "I just want to get home to my mother."
While the Beta members behind him started to yell into his ear about not helping the asshole in front of them, Alex actually considered it. Aiden not being around could be a good thing. But he did deserve to stay in here. Especially after all he had done to Beta. Also, it was because of his betrayal that Batman kicked Dante off the team. Which led Dante to side with the Light, and then, eventually died. Aiden was the reason why the League didn't trust Beta as much as they trusted Alpha.
"Alright." Alex spoke up. "We'll get you out of here."
"What?!" And everything else that went along with that is what came out of the mouths of his team members.
"Thank you, Alex. Very kind of you." Aiden replied. He was actually kind of shocked that Alex would agree to it. After everything he had done to all of the members of Beta. Well, except the new ones. Though the new girl, Lucy, looked pretty cute. Who knows? Maybe he'll have a chance with her.
A hour later, Beta and Aiden surprisingly worked well together to put all of the prisoners back in their cells.
"Well," Aiden said as he clapped his hands together to get the dirt off them. "That was pretty good teamwork. As If I didn't miss a beat." He chuckled to himself but that was all. Everyone from Beta except Alex was glaring at him. As if his prescence disturbed them to the point where they would kill him like he killed Ice Sr. "Now, I can go right?"
Alex nodded. "Yeah. Just follow us so the guards don't bother you."
Madison placed a hand on Alex's shoulder. "You sure about this?"
"Positive." Alex replied.
"Oh, come on, Madison. I'm not that bad." Aiden told Madison.
"Shut up, Aiden!" Madison retorted in a shout.
"Yeah!" Ethan shouted as well.
Aiden rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
Aiden followed Beta through various stair cases and tunnels until he was now in front of the group, staring out at the sunlight he so desperately craved to see again. All that stood in his way to freedom in the outside world was this metal gate door.
Aiden turned around. "Thanks, Alex. This actually means a lot to me."
"Just keep your promise and we'll be even." Alex replied with a small smile.
Aiden nodded and turned around to look at the door. He placed his hand on the metal handle to open the door. He turned it slightly before feeling a jolt throughout his body. He twitched and screamed out in pain as he was being electrocuted by some kind of force. Could it be a electrified door or did Beta betray him? Whatever it was, he wasn't going to get answers because his world turned black.
Aiden woke up several hours earlier with his butt planted on a metal chair, a collar around his neck and handcuffs connecting his legs and wrists to the chair he was sitting in. Not only was his ribs aching him, the back of his head was pounding. He must have hit the floor pretty hard. Aiden tried wiggling out his hands and feet free but he didn't have no luck. There was a metal table in front of him and the light bulb above him swung left to right. Could this be a interrogation room? Who was doing the interrogating? Beta? The Justice League? Maybe even the Light? What had happened while he was knocked out? All he knew was that he could never return to that prison. Especially after he killed Sr and basically helped Beta in putting away the remaining prisoners.
No matter how he felt about Beta or how they felt about him, for some reason he enjoyed working with them again. Like actually doing good by putting the prisoners away. Either it was nostalgia because of his old hero days or something, he kind of liked it. Of course, he would never admit it to anyone. Then again, who would he admit it too? He officially had no friends. No Light to help him out. He was all alone. All he had was just his mother. Was this the life he wanted? When he first became a villain he hadn't thought of all of this. That in the end, he was going to be all alone. No friends or anything. With the Light out of the picture it truly seemed like he was alone.
Aiden suddenly grew furious because of all the thoughts in his heads. Why did he ever trust the Light? Especially after seeing what they had done to ScareCrow. They left him in that prison to rot, knowing he couldn't defend himself without his powers. Maybe Aiden should have never betrayed Beta. They were the closest things he had to actual friends even though half of the time he was faking it. But can he seriously have doubts? One of the main reasons he joined the Light was for the money. The money he needed to get his mother out of that damn house, out of that damn city and as far away from Dave as possible. He already accomplished all of that so why did he continue working for the Light? Was it the recognition they were giving him? Because he got to be Black Manta's second in command? From what Aiden has been hearing around the prison, Manta's son, Aqualad officially took that spot. Which would make sense as to why Black Manta never came for him. Manta once promised him that wherever Manta goes in the organization, he was going to bring Aiden up with him. It looks like that was a lie as well. Aiden couldn't blame him though. Manta now had his son by his side and the two would make their way up the Light. By getting rid of Ocean Master and taking his spot as one of the heads of the Light.
Aiden slumped in his chair, feeling like a idiot. For trusting the Light, for betraying Beta, for being betrayed by Beta. He couldn't help but chuckle though. Karma was most definitely a bitch.
"Alex?! Are you out there?! Is this Beta's thing now? Taking people against their will and interrogating them? I don't think your friends in the Justice League would appreciate that." Aiden said, basically too himself as his words echoed throughout the small room. "I know you're out there! Anybody?!" Aiden started to grow worrisome. "Hello?! What the hell is this?! Somebody answer me!"
The door that led into the interrogation room opened which made Aiden laugh nervously to himself. "Kind of thought you left me here to die, Alex. Nice joke."
"This is no joke, Mr. Pierce." A woman's voice said from the entrance of the door.
Aiden raised a eyebrow. "How do you know my name?"
"We know all about you."
"That's… creepy." Aiden said, trying to remain calm and cool.
"It looks like you overstayed your visit in Belle Reve. Helping heroes to put prisoners away. What were you thinking?"
"I was thinking of prison. You have no idea what it's like in there!" Aiden roared.
"Oh, but I do, Mr. Pierce."
"Stop saying my last name!"
"As you wish, Aiden. Let's see, you killed Icicle Sr, helped heroes put prisoners away and you no longer serve the Light. It seems to me that if I put you back inside of that prison, you're a dead man."
"Screw the Light! Bunch of assholes they are!" Aiden yelled in anger, his chest lifting and falling as his anger overcame his body and pumped adrenaline into his system.
"I agree with you, Aiden. I'm trying to destroy those so called 'assholes' as you eloquently put it."
"Good for you. Can you let me go?"
"No." The woman stepped out of the shadows. "See, I want you to help me get rid of those 'assholes'."
Aiden raised a eyebrow as he looked at the woman in front of him more clearly. "Who are you?"
"My name is Amanda Waller. And you, Aiden, are a new member of my team."
"What team?"
"The Suicide Squad."
Aiden couldn't help but grin. "Sounds fun."
On the next episode of Young Justice: Beta...
Blah, blah, blah happens. Yep, I'm not giving you guys a preview. I kind of want to keep it a surprise. You'll just have to wait until next Friday :p
