"No…" Philippines knelt on the ground and examined the rubbles on the ground. "This…..this can't be…" She looked at the surroundings and saw everything was in pieces. A lot of people were hurt. A lot of houses were destroyed. Everything was in commotion.

"I….I have to be strong…." Philippines said and tried to stop her tears from falling. "I need to be strong! Visayas is sick, Mindanao is always a wreck and even Luzon is having a hard time. For them, I need to be strong." She took a deep breath and wiped the tears in her eyes.

"But how could I fix this? This is all the things he left for me. But now it is too late. Everything is broken."

"I build this church for you Philippines!" Spain extended his arms and showed a church on the back of his head. "It's great isn't it? Spanish architecture at its finest!"

"You sure love building churches." Philippines remarked and admired the church behind them. "How many have you built already? I lost count already."

Spain smiled awkwardly and scratched the back of his head. "Well… this is the only thing I can give to you after all the things I took from you and your people."

"It's really beautiful."

"Isn't it?" Spain knelt down and patted her head. "Better take care of it then."

"I will. I promise!"

"I promised to take care of them. But I failed… I'm sorry Spain." Philippines can't hold it any longer and broke into tears, memories from memories flashback from her head. The time she spent with Spain on the churches. The smile from Spain's face when he works to build the churches, the smile he puts on while showing all the hard work he put on. The smile they both have while spending each other's company.

"Spain….."

"Philippines! Philippines are you okay?" Spain exclaimed and went to her side. "Is everything fine? Are you hurt?"

"Spain…Spain!" Philippines jumped out of excitement and hugged the Spaniard, causing them to both fall on the ground.

"Woah, is everything okay?"

"It just did. I'm sorry Papa… I'm very sorry."

"Philippines are you really okay?" Spain raised his brow and looked over to Philippines. She was hugging him so tight and was continuously sobbing. She kept muttering Papa over and over again.

Spain sighed and smiled as he brushed the hair of his daughter. "You never changed. You still cry yourself to sleep. Don't worry, Papa can still fix it. Papa is not angry. Papa is relieved that you are safe."

Spain sat right up and hummed Philippines to sleep. He shed a little tear as familiar memory rushed into his mind. He bitterly smiled and cried, "I missed this kind of feeling."

Yes, Spain and Philippines relationship is not always one-sided. It is not always Spain hugging and doting Philippines like crazy. There are times that they really do act like a father and daughter. It's not that very often though.

After the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that happened from the Visayan region, almost every church that was built in the area was destroyed. Upon hearing this, the Spanish embassy expressed sadness and offered to help Philippines with everything they got. It is even said that they are already surveying the damage that has been dealt by the earthquake and is already exploring ways to help reconstructing the churches.

Isn't that nice?
