To all my readers down south hope you had a great Thanksgiving My gift to you is Chapter 89, enjoy!

Chapter 89

The next morning, John woke up extra early to make some breakfast for Randy and Cody. He knew he didn't have to and he was sure Randy was gonna tease him about it but John wanted to make sure how much he cared for both of his friends.

He was in the kitchen, making some eggs and talking to Phil on the phone. Resting it between his head and shoulder while stirring, they were talking about how the weekend was going for both.

"So have you spoken to Colt yet?" John asked.

"Yup. He didn't say anything to anyone but I now I feel guilty that Eve doesn't know. I want to tell her John."

"Well do you wanna wait until I get back? We can tell her together."

"No, it's okay. It's probably better if I tell her alone. I don't you to get hurt."

"Oh come on. I won't cry."

"Well you might. She does have a pretty mean punch."

John chuckled. "I don't think Eve is gonna punch you."

"You'll be surprised! She may be petite but she's strong. Believe me!"

The two talked some more until John heard a door open. He quickly said good-bye to Phil and placed the phone on the counter. He smiled when he saw Randy walking in.

"Hey, thought I would make some breakfast." John replied, lifting the pan and scooping up the eggs on a plate, along with bacon and pancakes.

"Only you would drive four hours here to make breakfast. You're a guest! We should be making breakfast for you." Randy teased, as he picked up a stripe of bacon and popped it into his mouth.

"Well you know me. I'm a wonderful host and guest. Now grab a plate and eat. Is Cody coming soon?"

"Ummm…nah. He's still sleeping." Randy said. John knew something was up but didn't press on. Instead he got a plate and began to grab some food. The two men ate in the kitchen, making small talk here and there but not much. John looked over at Randy. The man seemed like he was lost in space as he stared down at the plate of food.

"So…what do you wanna do today?" John asked, trying to engage with his friend. Randy just shrugged his shoulders.

"I dunno. Whatever you want I guess."

John furrowed his brow. He knew Randy was hiding something but wasn't sure what it was. Before John could ask though, the other man quickly got up.

"Hey, I'm gonna take this plate and see if Cody is up. I'll be back in a few okay?"

"Uhh..sure." John smiled as he watched Randy get up and leave the room. What was going on? John thought to himself. He stayed in the kitchen as he continued to finish up his meal wondering about Randy and Cody.

Randy has been in the room for 20 twenty minutes now and John was slightly annoyed. He really didn't want to say anything, especially with Cody being so delicate right now. Instead he cleaned up his plate and went towards his room to change. As he was walking by, he noticed that Randy's and Cody's room was slightly ajar. Not wanting to pry but unable to resist, he silently walked over to see if they were up. He could hear Randy's voice whispering to Cody.

"Cody? Please…please eat something. John made this for us. For you. Please."

"No. I don't anything. I'll get fat and then you'll leave me." Cody said, crying.

"I'm not gonna leave you. I just want you to get better. Here, have some bacon." Randy pleaded, grabbing a slice and handing it over to his boyfriend. The young man slapped it away.

"I said NO! I don't want anything! I'll just starve to death, then all of this will be over!" Cody spat back, turning away from Randy. The other man let out a shaky sigh as tears fell down his face.

"I'm not giving up on you. I know you'll get through this. I love you Cody. I'll do anything for you."

No response was given by Cody and Randy slowly got up from the bed. John quickly side-stepped and went towards his room. He closed the door lightly and sat down on the bed.

This was worse than what he imagined. John was truly scared for both of them.

John stayed in his room for quite some time afterwards. He needed time to think. What could he do? How would be able help his friends? He wasn't so sure if he could anything at all, except be there for them. But was that enough?

Looking at his watch, John opened the door and walked into the living room. He saw Randy there, watching TV.

"Hey. How's it going?" John asked cheerfully.

Randy let out a sigh not bothering to look in John's direction.

"Fine. Cody isn't feeling very well. He's gonna stay in bed for the bit. If you want, we can hang here or go to a movie or something. Doesn't matter." Randy's voice was cold and far away. John was heartbroken seeing his two best friends like this. He sat down beside Randy, grabbed the remote and turned off the television.

"Randy. I know something is wrong. Cody isn't sick. Please talk to me."

Hanging his head low, the other man stared down as he began to speak.

"My heart wants to stay but my mind tells me to let him go. I can't let him go but I don't what to do. He won't go to a therapist and I'm afraid that one day…I'll see him on the floor…not breathing…." Tears fell as Randy broke down before John's eyes. The larger man quickly wrapped his arm around him as he consoled his friend.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know it was this bad. I should have been there for both of you."

"It's not your fault John. I know you had to deal with your own issues. I just thought that Cody would be able to bounce back. You know how he is. But…this thing with Paul and now the fucking trial….I don't know if Cody can handle it…if I can handle it."

The two men held onto one another. John soothed Randy, rubbing his back and doing his best to assure him that things will eventually work out. They stayed like that for a while until they heard a cough from behind. John and Randy turned their heads to see Cody staring at them.

"So, this is why John is here. You're leaving me for him again." Cody stated, looking at John with accusing eyes.

Randy quickly removed himself from John's embrace and went to his boyfriend.

"No…it's not that. We were just talking."

"Really? About what? Me? How much of a screw up I am? That you can't stand me and that you're leaving me!"

"NO! Please Cody, for the last time…I am NOT leaving you!" Randy half pleaded, half yelled at Cody. John got up and went to the couple, placing himself between them.

"Cody listen to me. Randy isn't gonna leave you. He loves you."

"He loves you to. I know he does. That's why he wants you here. So you two can run away."

"That can't happen. I'm with Phil and I love being with him." John replied.

"So? It's not like you guys are married or anything!" Cody huffed out, crossing his arms as he glared at John.

Both Randy and John looked at one another before responding.

"Ummmm…Cody…I gotta tell you something. Me and Phil…we're married. We got married a while ago and didn't tell anyone yet. We were afraid that people would get angry at us." John saw Cody's face soften from the secret and let out a sigh of relief.

"You got married?"

"Yeah. Surprise!"

"Oh…well…congratulations. I'm…happy for you."

"I'm sorry we didn't tell you guys sooner. I promise once we get this settled, we'll invite everyone over for a party."

Randy smiled, stepping closer to Cody.

"See? John is only here because he wants to be with his friends. I'm not leaving you."

"Well, at least there's someone I know who's happily married. It will never happy to me. No one will ever want me to be their husband." Cody replied, casting his eyes downward.

"Don't say that."

"Why? You know it's true. I know you're being nice right now Randy, but I'm not stupid. You'll find someone nicer and younger and then…I'll go back to wherever I need to be."

Randy breathed out several times, closing his eyes in the process before opening them up again. Very slowly, he lowered himself down to the ground, bending his one knee as he looked up to Cody.

"What…what are you doing?" Cody asked, nervously.

"I'm asking you to marry me."

John stood there, wide-eyed and shocked at this moment.

"Uhhh…I'm just gonna go to the other side of the room now." John replied, as he tipped toed away from the situation.

Cody looked down at Randy's face, unable to believe this situation.

"What?"

"Please Cody. I'm asking you to marry me."

"Why?"

"Because I love you." Randy smiled, tears streaming his face as he waited for Cody's response. The young boy could see how genuine Randy was and for the first in a long time, he smiled.

"Yes."

"Yes?"

"Yes Randy. I'll marry you."

The man got up and lifted Cody up the air. The two kissed, holding each other tightly. John watched from the other side and couldn't help but smile at his two friends.

"Are you guys done now?" John asked.

The two men looked over at their friend.

"Yeah. This wasn't supposed to be like this though. I had it all planned out."

Cody looked over at Randy puzzled.

"Planned out? You mean….you were planning to ask me to marry you?"

"Of course. That's why I was late after work. I was looking at rings…for you."

Cody's face beamed. He wrapped his arms around Randy's neck and kissed several times on the face.

"Oh Ran, Ran! I can't believe you would do that!"

Randy chuckled, his heart filled with joy that Cody's demeanour was somewhat back.

"Well, we can still buy the ring. Why don't we do it today?" Randy asked, looking over at John for approval.

The larger man smiled and nodded his head.

"Let's get ready then. And Cody, make sure you buy something big and expensive." John replied, happy that at least for now, things were looking good for his two friends.

They searched for a while at the engagements rings. Cody tried almost every one at the store; staring at his hand, looking at himself in the mirror, smiling and giggling all the way through. Randy was elated and John was to. Finally, after trying over 30 rings, Cody picked the one he liked. It wasn't too big but large enough that he was able to show it off to anyone who noticed. Randy didn't ask for the price. He just handed over his credit card to the cashier and told her to charge it.

"But hide the amount. I might change my mind if I see it." The woman smiled, circling the area where Randy had to sign and gave him the little box over to him.

The man opened it up and placed it on Cody's finger.

"Perfect." The two kissed as they set off for lunch.

All three decided to eat by the park. It was a pretty warm day and they wanted to stay outside as much as they could before the weather started to change. Cody was by the fountain, looking at the water while John and Randy were sitting on a bench nearby.

"Cody looks like he's change. I think asking him was the right thing to do." John stated.

"Yeah. I just wished it was more….I dunno…romantic."

"You? The romance guy? I can't picture you being romantic. Maybe horny but not romantic."

The two laughed as they continued their conversation.

"Well, I've changed. This relationship has helped me a lot. I wanna be a better person cause now I got someone in my life that I care about."

John fluttered his eyelids, placing a hand by his heart.

"Awwwwwwwwww! Little Ran, Ran is in loooove!"

The other man rolled his eyes, elbowing John.

"Don't be an idiot and don't make fun of me. This is serious. I want him to be happy."

"Well, he's happy now. Just look at him."

The two looked over at Cody who was sitting by the fountain. His hand was in the water, his face peering up at the sky.

Both men were silent afterwards, enjoying the sounds of the outside and being in each other's company.

"John?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask you a personal question?"

"Sure."

Randy waited for a moment before continuing.

"Sooooo, when you and Phil are together…how do you know…who's gonna do what?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean….do you guys flip a coin or is it just the heat of the moment or….oh never mind." Randy stopped, waving away any questions that John had in his head.

"No, come on. I wanna help. Are you talking about sex?"

"Well duh."

"Okay…so what's the question?"

Randy looked down on the ground, a small blush forming on his face.

"What's it like being a bottom?"

John was slightly aback. He can't picture Randy being like that.

"Well, do you want the nice answer or the truth?"

"The truth."

"At first, it hurts…a lot. But after a while when you get use to it, it feels great. Especially if you like the person."

Randy nodded his head. He looked straight ahead towards Cody who was still by the water fountain.

"You've never done that have you Randy?"

Randy shook his head no, blushing at the same time.

"Well, I'm sure if you talk to Cody, he would want to be the first for you."

"I'm just nervous. What if he says no."

"He might at first. But if you talk to him about it, he'll understand."

Randy turned his head to John.

"I hope so. I just everything to be right."

"It will trust me. Just one tip. Buy lots and lots of lube."

Both men smiled, getting up and joining Cody near the fountain.

The next day, John was preparing his stuff for the ride back home. He went over to the front door where he was greeted by Cody and Randy.

"So you got everything?" Randy asked, wrapping his arm around Cody's small frame.

"Yup. I just want to say that it fun being here and hanging out with you two. You guys should come up and visit us again."

"Yeah we will. I wanna see Eve to. We haven't had time to talk much." Randy replied.

All three hugged it out as John slung his bag over his shoulder.

"You guys take care. I'll text you when I'm back home."

Cody reached over and gave his friend another hug.

"Thank you John." The young boy whispered as he slowly let go and watched his friend leave.

John climbed into the car and waved good-bye to his friends. He smiled most of the way home, knowing that his husband will be there waiting for him.
