"Alright. Now, team seven, would you like me to pick the next chore for us or do you want to pick one yourself?" Kakashi asked.

"Well, I think that catching the cat would be cool." Naruto suggested.

"Really, dobe? The sempais complain about that fiercely." Sasuke countered.

"Wouldn't that make it a great way to test how much more amazing we are?" Sakura asked. "Oh, and Naruto just learned a technique that might work here, and that would be a good way to test it." She added, contemplating the exact odds that it would work.

"Fine. I'm not doing anything but the writeup if it scratches." Sasuke said.

"Good. Now, I don't think that we'll need weapons for retrieving a cat, so let's go take that mission now please, sensei." Sakura coordinated.

"You guys want to catch that crazy cat? Fine, but I'm telling the other teachers about how crazy you are." Kakashi said. He was impressed with the teamwork that was building, but sometimes that group of his seemed crazy. "Let's go in. I'll request the mission so other teachers can gossip about me being sadistic." He volunteered, leading the group in. "We'll take the cat retrieval mission." He said, and the mission distributor played along and pretended that he hadn't already heard them debate about it.

"Well, you've just saved us the hassle of forcing it on the next team to arrive." They said. "It's technically Gai's turn for that creature, but you can swap with him."

"Great!" Kakashi said cheerily. Taking the scroll, he walked back out. "Mission description: safe retrieval of the cat. Any damage to the cat can and will be penalized with up to a fine equal to the cost of this mission. A tip will be made available to whoever can beat the record for capturing the cat. Note that sensei's are prohibited from helping on this mission at all.' I suppose that I'll have to leave actually capturing the cat in your hands. You're the one with the plan, Sakura. Share it." he ordered.

"Well, Naruto's been learning a technique that finds out information with a startling degree of accuracy. Naruto, can you activate your flame now?" Sakura asked.

"I still can't do it on command, Sakura!" Naruto complained, but he got whacked by an irate teammate.

"You really should know the difference between the two techniques, Naruto. I didn't actually learn either of them, but I could tell just by watching you!" Sakura scolded.

"But I'm not smart as you!" Naruto defended. He got another glare.

"You never will be if you keep telling yourself that. I'll just tell you what to do, and I expect you to do it perfectly. You are going to open up just the mind gate. Don't even think about anything, just open the mind gate and listen for any further instructions that I give you." She listed, watching for the physical tell. When Naruto's eyes glowed orange, Sakura knew that he was doing it. "Now, teammate, where is the cat we're looking for?"

"Sitting on the third window to the left of the school." Naruto said, eyes glazed.

"Now, you can snap out of it while we go to the point where we all can see it." Sakura said, and Naruto fell over with a thunk. "Sasuke, if you could wake our melodramatic teammate up, I would be very grateful." She added, frowning at the undignified posture that Naruto had assumed.

Sasuke didn't actually answer, he just sent a low-level lightning attack at the fallen teammate, jolting them awake.

"Come on, is that necessary?" Naruto asked, frowning as he got back up.

"When you've managed to snap into and out of that technique without making a fool of yourself, I will learn the corresponding technique and you can consider yourself amazing when I pass out before mastering the technique." Sakura said, frowning at him.

"I'm gonna kick that technique out of impossibility!" Naruto cheered, restored to a good mood.

Sakuke had already started walking to the building where his teammates claimed that the cat was. When the rest of the group caught up to him, he was already staring at the cat from the outside of the gates to the school. "Who has a plan to get that creature?" he asked, not letting his gaze stray from the cat.

"Do you, Sakura? I've heard of a technique to inspire docility, but I haven't even gotten close to doing anything with it." Naruto asked.

"I know a paralysis justu." Sasuke offered, "But that would go against mission parameters."

"Well, I don't really have any ideas. We could ask Kakashi, but then again-"

"Outside mission parameters." Both boys recited.

"If this was any other mission, I'd be telling you a great hint, but if you look up now, you'll see something really cool in the making." Kakashi interjected, using a loophole. He wasn't helping them; he was just pointing out how cool Rose was being.

"Is she really approaching that cat?" Sakura asked.

"Well, I don't think that anyone's put us all under a gentsu of her doing glaring at it."

"Alpha?" Sasuke asked, watching as the cat started to submit after Rose yelled something at it. He wasn't sure what it was that she was doing, but it wasn't anything new to her.

"Let's go see her and find out." Naruto suggested. Leading the group walk to her, they all watched as she picked up the cat and started petting its fur, glaring at it all the while. "Hi, sis!" he called, frightening the cat away.

"Naruto, baka!" Sakura hissed and Sasuke just rolled his eyes. They continued fallowing him to go meet with her, however.

"Nice to see you, bro. Are you on the cat catching catastrophe?" Rose asked, looking very pleased with herself.

"No, we're just looking for the cat, not making any cat-astrophies." Naruto said.

"Baka, she was just using alliteration." Sakura sniped, pleased when she received a wince in response. She was less pleased when Rose started glaring at her.

"Mabey you shouldn't destroy my student's chakera systems, Rose?" Kakashi spoke up, spooking his students. They hadn't heard him approach.

"Fine. I'm going to need to spar with someone fast, though." Rose said, frowning at herself.

"Hey, how were you getting that cat to stay still?" Naruto asked.

"Simple. I was focusing on how much more adept at being master than it was, and I convened it that I was to strong for it to disagree with." Rose said, smiling. "It's all about mastering intent, tuning your will so that others must obey and give you what you deserve." She added, a creepy grin forming.

"Mabey you should try doing that to the cat, dobe." Sasuke suggested.

"I think that it would be a good idea for you all to practice it, actually. Killing intent, the more refined version of what she just described, is a good tactic for communicating with enemy shinobi or holding prey in place for a few seconds while hunting. I don't know anyone who uses the technique so crudely or flippantly as Rose does, but it's still a good thing for every ninja to understand." Kakashi added.

"I thought that you couldn't help us for the mission." Sakura said.

"What on earth does me recommending a hunting technique have to do with catching someone's pet?" Kakashi asked.

"Cool. Let's do the tracking technique again, Sakura!" Naruto said, leading them back to the fence so they wouldn't be as blatantly overheard. While they were off with their mission, Rose got a little while to speak with Kakashi herself.

"Do you want to come over for dinner tonight? I'm going to have some more of that snail pie." She baited, smirking.

"I get the feeling that you want to discus something more than that with me." Kakashi guessed.

"Is that agreement I hear?" Rose asked, smirking as she interlaced her arm in his.

"It's certainly not protests." Kakashi responded, holding his breath as Rose used a replacement technique on both of them. "Now that we're in your nice, soundproof home, what is it that you wanted to ask me about?" he asked.

"Well, it's about my side project." Rose started, but then she frowned. "I've managed a way to flood her with my power over there, but there's still one thing in the way of me managing to get it perfect. I don't know any way that I could link her specifically to the summoning array that I found."

"Well, other than the issue of creating something that would link her to your location from you're other, have you tried using blood or something that would have all of the same properties in both places?" Kakashi asked.

"Well, there's a number of ways that I could link her to the intent of summoning, and I'll learn about them soon. Right now, however, I'm more concerned about how to infuse exactly what I want into her over here without reacting badly to her personality over there." Rose said, frowning.

"Well, listing the desired characteristics in their most basic form and out of order would be the first big step. If you could just get the least amount of characters to describe what you want her to be, it would be a bit help in elimination after the brainstorming prosses." Kakashi said.

"Well, even the brainstorming is a bit beyond me right now. I know that I want her to be smarter, but how to I add that without giving her the inclination to question me or decide that she wants something different than me?" Rose said.

"Consider the difference between wisdom and intellect. Do you want her to understand how to obey your orders better, possibly letting her question if they are the right course of action? Would you prefer granting her intellect to understand what exactly you want her to do and risk her taking an order out of context?" Kakashi asked. "The most obvious way to get rid of one risk is to only include characters describing the other possible disagreement."

"Well, I certainly don't want her questioning my morality or learning about excuses, so I think that intellect would be the better way to go." Rose said, smiling. "If I could train her to comprehend specific orders, enough for her to understand when I say no to something and when I say yes, that would be nearly perfect."

"So you don't care about what she does in your absence?" Kakashi asked. "No dragon-sitters to worry about?"

"Dragon sitters? Where I'm from, dragons are considered dumb beasts and wild animals. There's whole carriers dedicated to culling the beasts or keeping them quarantined! No one would be willing to babysit a bear, and I wouldn't ask anyone to dragon-sit at all!"

"Then I guess you don't want her to have any ability to act autonomously?" Kakashi asked.

"Not really that either. I want her to be able to hunt game animals without me, but other than that I don't see any need for her to understand such things."

"You're really set on becoming a dragon-rider, aren't you?" Kakashi asked.

"You'd be right about that. I want to ride my dragon and for everyone to see how powerful and majestic I am. People won't dare to attack someone of my power!"

"Yet everyone will see how little you control that power?" Kakashi asked.

"Oh, that was never really possible. If I have to sacrifice power, it will be the power of how much I can keep myself in check. No one's going to call me untalented!" Rose said, and the actual killing part of her killing intent rose.

"Do you really need to spar now, or can I get back to my students?" Kakashi asked.

"Oh, as long as I can do something with this power… would you be opposed to me giving you a round of blank chakera so that I can minimalize what I need to do with this power?" She asked.

"Well, I could take one of those and possibly end up in the hospital or I could spar with you and end up in the hospital." Kakashi said. "All in all, not a great situation to be in."

"Fine, but I really need to do something. If you could give me a list of Justu to master, I could be out of your way and just learn that." Rose bargained.

"Alright. I'm not giving you any secrets, but just hand me some paper and I can write you a list, provided that you burn it afterwards." Kakashi agreed, rolling his eyes.

"Good. Here you go, and I'll take my lesson." Rose said, smirking. "Also, thanks for the tips."

"I'm glad to be of help. I am a certified genius, after all." Kakashi said, shrugging.

"Well, I would have been considered one two if it wasn't for the company that I was surrounded with." Rose said, shrugging.

"By the way, where is Sakumo?" Kakashi asked.

"Well, he managed to talk someone into showing him senbon today, so I'm kind of obsolete." Rose said, frowning.
"Hey, you'll never be obsolete in his eyes. You're job's just going to get easier." Kakashi cheered. "Well, here's your list."

"Thanks. I'll look forward to testing it out. I might even get some more meat to cook." Rose said.

"Well, if you do get some, could you leave one of whatever it is intact so that Sakura can learn how to do it? She promised to take care of meals, and I don't think you want your brother getting sub-standard fare." Kakashi suggested.

"Sure, just invite her over once she's done catching that kitty and I'll give her a quick lesson." Rose said.

"Nice. Well, I'd better get back to my students." Kakashi said, sunshining off.
