"What's that supposed to mean?" Lauren asked as she sat up. Kai frowned deeper, and pinned her wrists down.
"I have learned paralysis in the last month," he said between clenched teeth. "Which means you have to choose; get dressed, or be paralyzed for the rest of the night."
Lauren grinned, and she flipped the two over, so now Lauren was pinning Kai's wrists.
"I learned that a year or so ago," she sneered. "So I could do the same to you." Kai's eyes showed defeat, but he fought on as silently as he could.
"Get... dressed!" he half-yelled. Lauren just laughed as Kai struggled beneath her.
"And they say that men are stronger!" she said. When he stopped squirming, Lauren sighed and let him up.
"Well then, I think we've proven something today," the kunoichi said. "Never mess with me!" She relaxed, and sat back a bit. Kai stood up, and walked over to the closet. Eh, Lauren didn't care. It would be a busy day afterwards.
Suddenly, she saw Kai standing above her, cover-up in hand.
"If you won't get dressed yourself, then I'll make you!" he said as he jumped back on top of her. It was Lauren's turn to struggle as Kai slipped the garment over her head. With speed and agility Lauren never saw that he had, he grabbed the lower end of the cover-up, and leaped up, pulling it down to her knees. When he landed, Lauren took a deep intake, seeing as though Kai had sat on her lungs.
"Geez, you were uptight," Lauren said.
"Geez, were you drunk?" Kai mocked her. Lauren giggled, and rolled her eyes.
"No, just pushing your limits," she replied. "Now I know mine." Kai sighed, and turned back to face her.
"I love you," he said. "But you have to understand that I'm uncomfortable around stuff like that."
"Well maybe I'll just have to teach you," Lauren said right away. She put her hand on the newly draped cover-up, and Kai rushed for her hand.
"No no no no no!" he blushed. "As your boyfriend I will protect your purity, and-"
"Woah!" Lauren laughed. "My what?! Purity?! Wow, my knight in shining armor right here!" Kai realized that Lauren was being too loud, and he cupped his hand over her mouth.
"At least I'm not the one laughing my head off," he mumbled. Lauren stopped laughing, and she moved Kai's hand away.
"Alright, alright," she replied. "I'll get dressed." Lauren went into the bathroom to change, and came back out wearing her pajamas. Kai had lost the red in his cheeks, and Lauren sat down next to him.
"Thank you," he whispered.
"Wasn't much," Lauren said back. She took his hand in hers.
"Oh, lighten up," she told him, resting her head on his shoulder. Kai gave a silent chuckle.
"Yeah, well... I was thinking a little too much about it. However I'm pretty sure it was because you looked too dang hot." He clapped a hand over his mouth.
"I-I mean..." Lauren pushed the hand away from his mouth.
"Hey, he speaks Ninjagan!" she smiled. "Wow, he was just speaking gibberish before! This is amazing!" Lauren scooted closer, and whispered in his ear.
"I wonder... if the specimen is... edible," she sighed on the last word, and she turned his head to kiss her. She felt Kai's uneasiness at first, but soon he relaxed, and he kissed her back.
"Hmm. Spicy," Lauren said with a smirk.
"That's my specialty," Kai replied. Lauren let out a breath, and she spoke up with a sweet voice.
"I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable earlier," she said before planting another kiss on his lips.
"Well I'm sorry for complaining so much," he replied, placing one arm around her, and his free hand on the back of her head. Lauren gladly accepted it. She was always so warm near Kai, even when he was down, she couldn't resist being around him. Now that they were official, they could be together a lot more.
For now, she just wanted to kiss him until she couldn't anymore. Lauren was hopelessly in love, and she wasn't going to fall out of it any time soon.
She didn't realize that she'd been lost in her thoughts for so long. She hardly felt the ninja's lips on her cheek.
"You've been silent," Kai commented. Lauren knew she had been a fool lately, playing with his love, with their love. That was something she did not take as seriously as she should have. Life had been nothing but fast-paced adventure, and Kai had been there with her through the ups and downs every step of the way.
Then again, she loved Kai more than anyone, and she intended to keep it that way. Never before had she ever experienced anything like what she had with Kai. He didn't need to worry about her purity. He handled it just fine. Luckily.
She hugged him, and softly cried into his shoulder. It took hardly any time at all before she felt the hand return to her head. He placed his forehead on hers, letting Lauren sob.
"What's wrong?" he asked. She looked at her ring. Perhaps she shouldn't have accepted it. She didn't deserve it. Kai whispered, "Its okay." over and over in her ear.
"I love you," Lauren finally said.
"I love you too," Kai said, he helped her sit up.
"I don't deserve you," Lauren told him.
"Yes, you do. I love you, and you know that."
"But-"
"But nothing!" Kai interrupted her. "Just breathe." Lauren did, slowly inhaling and exhaling until she calmed down.
"I-" she started.
"Ssh." Lauren stayed quiet, and realized he was right. Her tears dried, and she stayed wrapped in his arms.
And eventually, she fell asleep.
