A little while later Abraham walked into the kitchen, Beth sitting at the counter talking to Maggie.

"Beth, where is Daryl? I would like to get this conversation started about leaving for DC. Maggie, where is Glenn?" he asked. Beth and Maggie raised their eyebrows at each other.

"Good morning to you too Abraham" Maggie said, a snide tone to her voice. She was still not happy with the way he spoke to Beth last night either. She would have stepped up herself if Daryl didn't handle it.

"Daryl is not here" Beth said as she placed her hand on Maggie's knee. Abraham sighed loudly.

"People around here do not seem to understand the severity of the mission we have here" he bellowed as he started to storm out of the room.

"Rick and I both know what Daryl wants, so one of us can answer for him" Beth stated clearly and firmly as she followed Abraham out of the kitchen, Maggie following close behind.

"And we do understand that you seem to think this mission tops everything, but for us, family tops everything, and whatever Rick decides we will do" Beth continued as they made it to the living room. The rest of the groups faces looked up as they entered. Abraham turned to face her, his eyes glaring but Beth stood firm, her hands folded across her chest.

"Nothing is more important than the mission. To get that man to Washington so he can save the world" Abraham said as he pointed toward Eugene.

"We understand that Abraham" Glenn started as he moved to stand beside of Maggie. Beth was still in front of her, hands folded, staring at Abraham.

"We are leaving in the morning. Are you all are coming with us?" he asked as he glanced around the room.

"Like I said, we are not going anywhere unless Rick decides it is the best decision. We are a family, but he is the leader" Beth stated matter of factly. She knew the rest of the group felt the same way.

"Where is Rick then? Get him in here?" Abraham demanded.

"He's on watch. Daryl and Michonne are on a run. Why can't you wait a few hours till they get back and we can all discuss this" Glenn asked, getting in the middle of Beth and Abraham.

"We have wasted enough time" Abraham stated.

"Well if you don't wait, you won't be taking one of the cars" Beth stated angrily as she glared at him. She knew she didn't really have the right to say he couldn't take them but who the hell was this guy. She had thought he was really nice, and she understood that he thought he had a mission, but come on, waiting a few hours was not going to kill him.

"Who do you think you are telling me what I will or won't be taking?" he asked, moving a little closer to her. Glenn got further in between them and she saw Tyrese and Carol both stand up out of the corner of her eye.

"Back off Abraham. We can wait a few hours" Rosita stated calmly as she saw Carl place his hand on his gun. She knew from experience how good of a shot the boy was.

"I will not! We will be leaving tomorrow. And we will be taking a car. Glenn, you and Maggie will be coming too" he stated. Beth laughed as she looked at Maggie.

"If you calm down and wait, we will go with you" Glenn said with a nod, not looking back at Beth or Maggie.

"Excuse me? You don't speak for me Glenn! I'm not leaving my family. We have lost enough already" Maggie stated angrily. Beth backed up a little and placed her hand in her sisters, flashing Abraham a little smirk.

"I don't get you people" Abraham screamed and with that, everybody started screaming. Glenn and Maggie, and Abraham and Rosita were all screaming back and forth. Beth was just about to scream at them to shut up when they all heard…

"I lied…..there is no cure. I lied" Eugene said loudly from his seat on the couch. All of them stopped, mid scream and looked at him. Eugene's eyes got big and his cheeks flushed.

"What did you just say?" Rosita asked. Beth could see Abraham's veins popping out of his forehead and his eyes flaring.

"It was all a lie. I am weak and I needed protecting and you all would not have protected me without this lie. I am smart, smarter than most and I think that if I get there I could do something. But the closer and closer we got, the more nervous I got. And now that I consider these people my family too, I don't want to lie anymore" he said as he looked down at his hands.

"Do you know how many people died on this mission?" Rosita asked, her voice cracking a little at the memory. Eugene nodded and then looked up at Abraham.

"I am smarter than you" he started and in that instant everybody saw the flash in Abraham. He was on Eugene in an instant, picking him up off of the couch and punching him in the face over and over again. Glenn, Rosita and Bob tried pulling him off and made no affect, he just kept hitting him. Beth went to pull Maggie away and as she did, Abraham pulled his arm back to hit Eugene again and elbowed Beth in the face. She grabbed her face and fell to the ground. In that instant Tyrese lunged for Abraham and Maggie got on the floor, taking Beth's face in her hands. Tyrese had pulled Abraham off of the now unconscious Eugene when a gun shot rang out. They all looked toward the door to see Carl standing there, his gun moving from pointing outside to Abraham, Tyrese let go of him and backed up. Rick followed behind Carl, totally unaware of what was going on until he head Carl fire into the sky and turn back into the house.

"Beth, are you ok?" Carl asked, causing Rick to look in the direction of Carl to Beth on the floor. Beth could see his eyes go dark with anger and she placed a smile on her face.

"I'm ok, really" she said as she started to stand, Maggie helping her up.

"What in the hell is going on in here?" Rick demanded. Carl turned to him and started filling him in as Maggie moved Beth toward the couch.

"Move the hell out of my way" Maggie growled at Glenn and Abraham. Beth could see the range of emotions flowing in Abraham's face. She wanted to hate him…..hate him for his rudeness, for his anger, and for the bruise she could already feel forming on her face but she couldn't. This man had been lied too for who knows how long and now his mission, his reason for going on was taken. She saw Bob and Tyrese picking Eugene up and lying him on the other couch and then turned her attention back to Abraham. When Carl got to the part of Abraham elbowing Beth, he turned to look at her, the realization of his actions setting in.

"My sincere apologies Beth" he said sadly. Beth held out her hand to him, causing him to look up in surprise. When he took her hand, she squeezed it and gave him a small smile.

"Abraham, can we talk outside" Rick asked, but his tone stated that it was not a request. Abraham nodded and let go of Beth's hand. Rosita looked up as he walked out and shook her head as she turned back to Eugene.

"If he had just told us the truth, we would have helped him anyway. Now I don't know if Abraham will ever trust him" Rosita said as she ran her hand softly over Eugene's forming bruises.

"You are way too nice to him" Maggie said as she looked over at Beth and ran her finger gently over the bruise on Beth's cheek.

"No I wasn't Maggie. He believed with everything he had on this mission and even if we all kinda suspected that Eugene was lying, he didn't. He believed with his whole heart and he just had that ripped away by lies. I don't agree with him beating Eugene the way he did, but he didn't mean to hit me and I forgive him." Beth said sweetly as she grabbed Maggie's hand and squeezed. Maggie smiled and then looked over and saw Glenn watching them both. Maggie narrowed her eyes at him, causing him to look at the ground and walk out.

"You should go talk to him" Beth said softly.

"He has no right to state what I am going to do. He should know I would never leave you" Maggie said back just as softly, but with anger in her voice.

"He was just trying to calm the situation. I don't think he meant it. Go talk to him, I'm ok really" she said as she let go of Maggie's hand.

"And anyway, I have my other brave protector watching over me" she said as Carl walked up beside of her and smiled.

"Ok, I will go find him. Stay out of the path of swinging arms" Maggie said with a chuckle. Beth laughed back as she watched Maggie stand and walk in the direction that Glenn had went. She then smiled as Carl sat down beside of her.

"You sure you are ok?" He asked, concern on his face.

"I'm fine, really. You broke everything up, that was good thinking" she said with a smile, remembering when she broke up a similar fight by firing a gun in the air as well.

"Well it was probably a good thing that Daryl was not here, because Abraham would be dead" Carl stated as he turned to look toward the door. Beth sighed at the thought, she had not actually thought about what Daryl would do when he got back and saw the bruise on her face. He was not going to take it well.

Beth checked her reflection in the mirror as she walked down the hallway. The bruise was forming right under her eye. It had puffed up a bit and was turning black and blue. She sighed, knowing that when Daryl got there, there would be nothing she could say to calm him down. There was only two people in this place that could possibly do that before he saw her, so when she saw Abraham walk off of the steps and start going around the house she walked over to Carol.

"Can I talk to you and Rick outside for a second?" Beth asked as she leaned over and whispered in Carol's ear. Carol looked up and nodded, her eyes looking at the bruise on her cheek.

Beth and Carol walked outside, causing Rick to look up from his perch on the step. He smiled when he saw them both.

"Are you sure your ok Beth?" he asked as she sat down beside of him on the step.

"Yes, I'm fine. But that is kinda what I wanted to talk to you two about" she said as she looked from him to Carol and back again.

"Your worried about Daryl and what he is going to do" Carol asked, knowing how her friend was going to react when he saw Beth and found out what happened.

"Yes. I don't think I would be able to calm him down myself if he just walks in and sees me. I was hoping that either one of you, or both of you could explain to him what happened before he comes in the house. If it comes from you two, he might take it better." She said as she looked down at her hands. She was so worried of what he would do. His protectiveness was one of the things she loved about him most, but she knew his history and knew how he felt about somebody hitting a woman.

"You both know his history, you know how he feels about…." Her voice trailed off, but luckily she didn't have to finish.

"He isn't going to take it well Beth, he loves you" Carol said sweetly. Beth looked up with a sigh, knowing Carol was right. The pit in her stomach just got bigger and bigger.

"We will talk to him though. You should go rest a little. I will send him up to your room after we are done talking to him" Rick said as he placed his hand on her knee.

"Please don't let him do anything he will live to regret" Beth said as she grabbed Rick's hand. Rick nodded, understanding what Beth was asking.

Beth smiled and stood, a wave of dizziness overtaking her. She held out her hand, stopping Carol from grabbing her.

"I'm really fine." She said as the dizziness faded away. Carol and Rick both watched her as she walked up the steps.

"I will send Bob to check you out when he is done patching Eugene." Rick stated. Beth turned and nodded with a smile.

"Thank you both" Beth said as she opened the door and walked in. Carol sighed, and sat down beside Rick, in the spot that Beth had just vacated.

"You know this is not going to go well" she said as she looked out toward the gravel road. Rick chuckled and turned to look at her.

"I think that is the understatement of the year" he said with a slight smile, worry in his eyes.
