A/N - in this story Anne was born in 1507. - Not the greatest execution of a plot bunny but it was something stuck in my head.

The Spring of 1528

"Pregnant, the Queen is with child." Anne looked at Henry her eyes conveying how betrayed she felt, Henry had not only slept with Katherine after declaring his love for her but got her pregnant.

"Anne, sweetheart, I..." Henry watched as Anne ran out of the room crying. She had refused to be his mistress, but he promised to love only her and now Katherine was pregnant. It was impossible, how could she be with child her monthly bleeding had ceased years ago. Henry was sure that once again Katherine would fail to carry to term, much less give birth to a healthy child. But seven months later a miracle happened, Katherine gave birth to healthy twins. A Prince and Princess for England, but her victory was very short lived. Henry was angry, Katherine destroyed his happiness with Anne. He had a son, but at the loss of his precious Anne. Katherine had been forbidden to see the twins, Henry claimed it was to protect them from illness.

"Your Majesty, by orders of the King, you are to travel to Kimbolton Castle immediatley." Katherine looked at Charles in utter shock.

"Why is the King sending me away? I gave him a son." Charles did not answer her question, looking at Katherine with pity.

"You have but a few hours to pack." Katherine did not know why the King was sending her away, nor would she get an answer upon arrival at Kimbolton. Instead she was given a letter from the King, and more pitiful looks from her household. It was like everyone but her knew what had transpired that ended with her basically banished from court. She opened the letter and began to read, her face slowly stained with tears.

Katherine,

Until further command, you are to remain at Kimbolton away from court and my children. My son, Prince Anthony, and daughter Princess Anne, have a household set up for them already in an undisclosed location. Any correspondence to you about their well being will come from their governess, the Lady Mary Carey. By now, our oldest daughter will be far away from your influence.

Katherine dropped the paper as she could not bear to read more. She looked up at Charles her eyes pleading.

"What does he mean Mary is far away from my influence." Charles hated that he was tasked to tell Katherine, but it was part of Henry's revenge on the woman he used to love. Charles had his orders, no matter how much he hated them.

"The Princess Mary is to marry the King of France's eldest son. The King and Lady Anne Boleyn, the newly vested, Duchess of Lancaster and Kent have already set sail for France with your daughter."

"I gave him a son, and he still flaunts is whore in front of me." Katherine said defeated, could she have been wrong to think Anne was just another in a long line of mistresses. "Charles, does he truly love her?"

"I believe so, your majesty. But your are the Queen of England, you can never be replaced." As long as Prince Anthony lived she would remain his Queen. England's Queen. It did not escape her that not only was her daughter named after the whore, but her son's name clearly was in reference to her as well. Anne had loved France, and now her daughter was being used as a way to punish Katherine more by marrying her to the enemy of her people.

It had been four years since Henry had looked upon Katherine, he had spent all of his time with Anne who still would not become his mistress. She held firm that she would never be the King's mistress, and even though most did not want to accept that Anne was virtuous out of deep loyalty to the Queen they knew it was true. She was innocent, and most did feel ashamed of calling her names and some began to pity her as much as poor Queen Katherine. She was trapped by the King, who refused to let her go to allow her any happiness. Many believed she would not be able to hold out much longer, and would soon have to give the King what he desired the most. The young prince and princess often called her mama, something that broke everyone's heart but Henry. It was like he was encouraging them to see Anne as their mother.

Anne looked down at the children playing and began to cry, as she placed her hand on her still growing belly. She was once more with child, the King's bastard child. This was potentially her fifth child with Henry.

"Your Grace, the carriage awaits." Charles looked at her, she was ever so beautiful and against his initial dislike for her came to care deeply for the King's mistress. The journey to Kimbolton was long, and in her delicate condition took even longer than normal but she has insisted she be the one to deliver the news.

"Your Majesty, the Duke of Suffolk." Katherine wondered what news he would bring her today, she rarely saw anyone and heard nothing from Lady Carey in months about her children. She had gotten a letter six months ago from the Lady Anne informing her of the birth of her grandson, Prince Francis.

"Your Majesty" Anne looked at Katherine, who was shocked as ever to see her rival standing before her.

"Mistress Anne, why are you here?" She commanded.

"To inform you of your husband's death. Your son has been declared King Anthony I, and you are free from your banishment imposed so cruelly by your husband." Anne never referred to him by his name or even as the late King, Katherine could see in her eyes she had no love for Henry. Anne requested a room to rest, and told Charles to answer any question Katherine had about Henry's death.

"Charles, Mistress Anne, I see is carrying my husband's bastard. How many other little bastards did she give him?" Katherine was angry that she had lost so many years with her children and never once did her nephew try to intercede in her behalf.

"Four sons, Your Majesty. The Lady Anne did not wish to be the King's mistress, and it was five years after the birth of your twins that her eldest son, Henry was born." Katherine was shocked that Charles was defending that whore.

"Of course she named him Henry..."

"Katherine, stop acting so hateful. Henry hated you for ruining his happiness with Lady Anne, it was his decision to destroy your happiness. It was only because of Lady Anne, that you knew your daughter had a son. She tried to leave him, but he would not let her go. After the birth of Henry, he tried to have his marriage to you annulled on grounds of abandonment." Katherine had not seen her children for 15 years, they had grown up only knowing Anne as their mother. Princess Anne was betrothed to Prince Philip of Spain months before Henry's death and had already set sail to Spain. Anthony went on to marry Lady Catherine Howard in 1539, against his mother's wishes. It took over five years for Anthony to warm up to his true mother, he would write to Anne often and visited her and his siblings when he could. Katherine never forgave Anne, as in her heart she knew it was all her fault that her life was ruined. Nothing could convince her that Henry had destroyed not only her life but that of Anne's as well. Anne Boleyn retired from court shortly after Henry's death with her children, Henry, Arthur, Charles, George and Elizabeth. Only after Katherine's death was she seen back in court at the request of the King. She never married, and she was buried at Westminster Abbey upon her death. Katherine had never seen her daughters again, but she was overjoyed to receive their many letters.

A/N : - Catherine Howard was born in 1529 in this story, I wanted her to be younger than her husband. This was just a take on how evil Henry could be regardless of Katherine giving him a son.
