Ch. 54: It's Friday, Friday!
Friday. It was finally there. If you had no idea what was special about Friday, just walk into Hetalia High and you'd find out. Banners advertising the last dance were strung up everywhere and spring colors were littering everything.
Maddie looked around in shock next to Alfred. "They really do go all out for the last dance, it seems," she said.
"Nah. It's not only the last dance. I guess you could say we're really celebrative people. We always go all out for things. You should see it when it's someone's birthday. Their homeroom class has cake, ice cream, and anything normal party would," Alfred explained shrugging it off. "You get used to it soon enough. By next school year, you should be used to it like everyone else."
"...Yeah..." She still needed to tell him about moving. She had to. She was running out of time. She was dreading every second of it.
"Yup! So, let's go to class, Mad, and see everyone freak out because of the last dance."
"Alright."
Let's just say, everyone at Hetalia loved to be festive. As soon as Maddie and Alfred walked into the gym (that's where Mr. Honda's class was located that day), they were showered with glitter, paper, laughter, and everything else in between.
Maddie laughed pulling streamers out of her hair, watching as Feli swung the petite teacher all over the place in a hug. Even Mr. Ludwig seemed to be having fun. Feli, Ludwig, and Kiku often celebrated with their classes together in the same room. Try to imagine sixty or so teenagers running around the gym in many different directions having the time of their life.
"Wow," she said laughing.
"See? We go all out for celebrations as little as a dance. It's pretty cool and stuff when you think about it."
"Yeah."
"So what do you want to do?"
"What do you usually do when things are like this?"
"Um... Nothing really. I usually sit on the stage and watch everyone else. Sometimes, I'd play a few games of b-ball with some old team mates if they'd ask."
"Huh. Let's sit on the stage then."
"Okay~!" Alfred grabbed her hand and lead her to the stage and both sat on the edge of it watching everyone mingle with one another very carefree.
"It's cool how everyone can be so laid back like this, you know?" Alfred said after a while of silence.
"Oui. Everyone seems so happy." She leaned her head on his shoulder. His response was to wrap and arm around her, pulling her a fuzz closer.
"We are usually a happy school, both students and teachers. That's why Mr. Aulus is so smooth going. He likes for everyone to be happy. Everyone considers him a grandpa and the named just stuck."
"I wish my principal was like that. He was strict and stuff."
"You said you went to Pasta Middle, right?" She nodded. "Was your principal Mr..."
"Mr. Avila."
"Ah, yeah. Mr. Aulus and he often argued and stuff."
"Yeah. When that happened, he was even more strict."
"Huh. Well, all that is in the past now. We just need to look forward to the future, together!"
"Yeah." She didn't want to tell him. Not at all.
After school, around five that evening, Maddie was sitting on her bed, watching Feliks as he pulled the dress out of its bag. It was gorgeous, and she could only imagine how it would look on her.
"I can see it in your eyes. You love it," Feliks said smiling. "I'll leave and you can try it on, okay?"
"Please?" she asked smiling brightly. Feliks nodded once and walked out of her room, closing the door behind him.
Maddie fingered the pink dress before quickly undressing herself. She slipped it on and examined herself in the mirror. What she saw took her breath away.
The dress was light pink, but with the ruffles at the end, it gave it a darker look. There were sparkles aligning the bottom of the dress with a silky lacy fabric running up to her mid stomach. Separating that from the top were maple red ribbons tied in little bows around her body. The top also had glitter sprinkled on it giving the dress an elegant look. The spaghetti straps were lined with white ribbon. The cut was low, but not low enough to show off anything not worth showing off to a high school dance. It showed off her curves in a very flattering way, also.
"Do you like it?" Feliks asked walking back into the room again.
"Omigosh! Yes! I love it! You are amazing, Feliks! Simply amazing," she said crushing him in a hug. He chuckled and hugged her back.
"We still need the shoes, make-up, and gloves," he said. "I plan on making this your best night ever. To remember me by for when you leave tomorrow. Now sit on a chair and I'll get to work."
Ten minutes later found Maddie's desk covered in make-up brought to the show-case by Feliks. Madde was sitting near the desk watching as Feliks chose out the right colors for Maddie.
"Close your eyes," he ordered. Maddie complied. He began applying eyeliner. "So, did you enjoy your stay here at Hetalia?"
"I've fallen in love with the small town," she answered. "I don't want to leave."
"Everyone falls in love with this place. Everyone knows each other and everyone is kind."
"Who lives next door to me? I haven't met them."
"There's two guys on the left. Their names are Tino and Berwald. Berwald's the school's secretary. You might've seen him behind the office desk. Open your eyes. Tino works at the vet's office more into town. They have a dog. The name is so long so everyone just calls her Hana.
"On the other side- close your eyes again- are two teens about our age. Lilli and Vash Zwingli with their mom and dad. Vash is in our grade and Lilli is a grade under us. Nice people. If you weren't leaving, I'd suggest- smile, thanks- you meet them." He was now putting blush on Maddie.
"Hmm. I wish I could," she said still smiling.
"Yeah. What was your favorite part of this whole thing?"
"You mean being here?"
"Yeah."
"Probably just meeting the new people I've met. Everyone is so nice, like you said. And I'm glad justice was served with Gilbert. I think he is in juvy or something now."
"Well that's good. Blink."
"Yeah. I can't help but wonder what life'll be like down south."
"Only God knows, Maddie. You just have to take it one step at a time. Speaking of that, I want to exchange numbers. I need to stay in contact with you while your down there."
"But my number will change. How about you give me yours, and as soon as I can, I'll contact you."
"Sounds like a date." He smiled.
He finished with her make-up and quickly moved onto her hair. He pulled it half up into two side pony tails on the top of her head with just enough bangs in her face to give her a childlike look. He curled the tails inward to give it some flare. The rest of her hair had a wave to it. All that needed to be done to it was add big curls to it, but not too noticeable curls, just enough to make it look natural.
And soon enough, the maple red shoes were on along with the snow white gloves completing her formal look. Now all that was needed was her date.
Heyo! I just want to say I love all of your nice reviews! They make my day every time I see a new one! So, thanks gummy bears! Now, I need to say this now. This story will be ending soon. I'd say ten more chapters until the end. I know, I know. I can hear you yelling profanities at me now, but it must end some time. DTKIH and I have decided there WILL be a sequel with them in the future, so yay for that! Um, if you want a link to the dress, just tell me and I'll PM it to you. Also, Mr. Avila is Germania. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have an official name, so I created one for him. If he does, tell me so I can fix it. Anywho, we hoped you liked the chapter and until next time, peace! ~Love-Peace-Anime
Cardfighter By Heart: Glad you liked it! She will... Eventually. ^^" DTKIH wanted me to wait before telling it. If it were my idea, I would've made Maddie tell a LONG time ago. But, alas, it's not mine, it's hers. Anywho! Thanks for the review!
Blood-Stained BallGowns: I don't know if you want me to reply to all at once or not, so I'll do it all at one time! Thank you! The chapters will always be here if you missed any. That is, if this story stays up, 'cuz you know, it could get deleted. I hope it doesn't though! ... It seems everyone has weird stories from school! Once, my principal said if our school team won the football game against the other school, he'd be duck taped to a pole in the library. We won and he got taped down. My friends got a picture of it, and it was hilarious. :) She'll tell him. But I won't say when :D Thanks for your reviews!
Sapphire7777: D'aww thanks! We are both really glad you like the story! I'm glad I added enough humor, drama, and suspense to keep you interested! I agree, but if you look around hard enough, you'll find something :) THAT IS A TERRIFIC IDEA! WHY DIDN'T WE THINK OF THAT?! But, I'm sorry to say that can't happen. We already decided what's going to happen at the end, but thanks for the suggestion! Who knows, maybe I'll write a spin-off about it and credit you. I guess time will only tell :3 I try to update every other day when I can (which is most of the time). Thank you for reviewing!
Aurora Chen: Yup! Thanks! I came up with it myself~ Yes, that WOULD make sense but, Feli and Lovi are already working at Hetalia along with Grandpa Rome. I wanted to keep the school names somewhat tied to the anime/manga and what's a better way to describe Hetalia than pasta? XD Thank you for the review!
Me: Thanks! As I said, there should be only ten more chapters left. Thank you for your review!
