They were all in the middle of the forest. Mother Nature was there as well. Not that anyone cared about what people were next to them tough. No, they were far too shocked for that…

Lily was walking through the woods of Switzerland while humming along with the birds. Every step she took was followed by the blossom of beautiful daisies and newborn grass. The trees breathed along with the morning breeze and nature itself could be felt in the very air.

It was such an amazing feeling. It was freedom itself, it was beauty itself… it was life itself…

She would never understand how humans… no… this was way too perfect… she wouldn't think about humans while enjoying nature, not now….

Suddenly the currents changed and a moan was heard from earth itself.

Danger.

Lily stopped and looked around. Clouds started to cover the sky up and the atmosphere seemed to harden.

"Hello…" she heard a voice and turned around. Only shadows, no one there.

She narrowed her eyes and straightened. Hands open at both sides ready to command the earth to follow her thoughts. Trees made low sounds while making their way towards the Spirit of Spring to protect her.

They wouldn't go without a fight.

They were all just standing there in silence. Seraphina lifted her head and glanced at each of the seasons who looked at her as soon as they felt her gaze.

"Fly" she said.

Sunny and Maeve looked at the bunch of flowers with hurt expressions before looking away and were gone the second after. Jack did the same, but before going he looked at Bunny. He was about to put his hand on the Pooka's shoulder before wincing under Gaia's eyes.

"I'm so sorry…" he whispered, his eyes shut. And he was off.

"Mr. Black" said Lily politely once she saw Pitch standing behind some trees around shadows "Hi, I don't believe I've had the pleasure before, what brings you here?"

Pitch let out an easy laugh before disappearing again.

"Pleasure, you say?" he snickered heartlessly "I guess not…"

Lily turned around trying to follow the direction of the voice and staying calm. Something was telling her Pitch wasn't there just to chat. But she couldn't jump into conclusions… yet.

"As to what brings me here" she heard Pitch standing right behind her "I don't think you'd like to know…"

"Why wouldn't I?" she asked innocently while readying the roots. Without moving she managed to get some rays of sun to fall upon her to which Pitch took a few steps back with a huff. Lily smirked while making a flower appear in her hand.

"Well… " he said with a smirk while looking back to the shadows between the trees from where lots of yellow eyes appeared. Pitch started to walk around her not stepping into the sunlight "Let's just say my little pets here are not so fond of flowers…"

Lily stepped back making the trees open so more light could get to the ground around her.

"Well, flowers are not so fond of rottenness either" she said with anger. Pitch hummed.

"What a pretty little fighter we got here, huh?" he said while getting closer to her. He then looked towards the shadows "Ladies…"

And the nightmares attacked.

Glen knew the guardians were already there. He knew the seasons had already fled away. And he knew he should be moving too.

He knew he had to go find them and talk to them. He knew he at least had to go to talk to the guardians along with Seraphina…

But how could he? The-they hadn't… They hadn't been the ones to be there… to be there during… during those last few seconds…

A little wood mouse came closer to him and whined.

"Yeah…" he sighed with a sniff "I know…"

Roots blocked the nightmares while Lily jumped into the air only for her ankle to be grabbed by black sand.

"Ahg!" Lily yelled as she lifted her hand and trees hurried to destroy the substance holding their master. She fell to the floor with a bump and hit the grass with his fist. Whips of spiked roots fled towards Pitch who was barely able to dodge them.

She used that time to fly away. She needed to get to a clearing or something where easier to fight. The woods were perfect, but she needed a place with no shadows for Pitch to use against her. But she needed help. She was about to put the flower she had created earlier on the ground to call Glen when she remembered the greenish stone hanging from her hip.

Bunny.

She would need them both. And Sunny probably. She grasped the stone before being hit from behind. She hit the ground, a black horse all over her, Pitch getting closer while laughing.

A big Oak sent the nightmare flying and two animals appeared behind her. Pitch could only gasp as a big goat (a Valais Black-neck goat to be right) jumped over him while Lily jumped to the sky again.

The goat itself became a mess of spiked roots that surrounded Pitch like a cage. A few horses run towards him to free him.

"Get her!" he spat while destroying the cage-like structure with his sand.

Lily was finally getting away. Time to think things straight. She needed to call for help first, but most importantly, she needed Bunny. He could stand up to Pitch… Glen, she wasn't so sure… But… did Bunny know about this? Did he know Pitch was around again? He had to!

But what if he didn't? She needed to warn him.

The stone had been thrown feet away from her when hitting the ground before, but Ran was already on it.

But then…

Grass against her face again.

"Uhg…" she moaned. She felt herself being lifted from the floor.

"Now…" he said while grabbing her by the neck and pushing her against a tree "Enough games young girl…"

Lily grabbed his wrist with one hand and touched the tree with the other. Pitch dropped her as branches attacked him.

Lily started running away. The same goat appeared next to her and she climbed on its back.

"Thanks, Gal!" she breathed and the goat made a sound. She dropped the flower she had been holding which sank to the earth as soon as it touched the ground.

Good, now she needed to call Bunny, he would be able t-

And she was rolling on the ground only to be stopped by a big rock. The goat stepped in front of her while more roots made their way from the ground towards the closer-by-minute nightmares.

"Wind!" she was able to scream before Pitch grabbed her by her hair not to fly away "Let me go!" she kicked making Pitch laugh evilly.

"Now why would I do that?" he asked two inches away from her face "You see, you're the perfect bait" he sang.

Lily's eyes widened.

A bait.

No.

"Ohh" he said with a pout "Have you already asked for help?" and he laughed. Ropes of sand grabbed her hands behind her back and held her against the rock which she had been hit against before. Lily searched for her surroundings. There, a few feet away from Pitch was a little wood mouse holding the green stone.

Ran.

Thank Bees, he had heard everything and Pitch hadn't seen him yet. Ran looked at her in the eye. She nodded. Go. She though. Tell them everything.

And the little thing was gone.

"So" Pitch continued "Who was it? Cause you're flower back there wasn't so subtle…" he smiled.

Lily stared at Pitch in front of her with fear. Her hair was all over her face in a very messy way; she was sweating and was covered in cuts. Her left wrist hurt and a little blood was seeping from a deep cut down her right knee.

But worst of all, the poor flowers along her body were all crunched and her dress was a mess.

"No…" she spoke, dirty golden eyes in front of her "That wasn't a call for help…"

"Oh, really…" he said not at the very least amused "Well…" he suddenly smirked. Lily looked at him "Guess that could work out for both of us…" Lily's eyes widened.

"I had planned to use you as bait… No one knows I'm back… So it would have been easy to catch at least that rabbit by surprise when coming to save you… But now… I get to have a little chat with you and then catch them by surprise…"

"Gal!" she cried while wind made its way around her to get the horses next to her away. Pitch yelped as the goat attacked him along with trees around them.

Carnivorous flowers came out of the ground and started eating the sand holding her wrists. Once she was free Lily grabbed one of them and tossed it to Gal who run away from Pitch to catch it.

"Go to Mother!" she screamed earning a growl from Pitch "Wind! Go to Jack!"

"No!" Pitch yelled but it was too late. They were gone "You…"

Lily couldn't help it to smile. Wind had finally gone to Jack. That was the most important thing.

So she could wait… for a while, but once Mother saw the sand and listened to Gal she would come, Jack would know what was happening and be alerted, plus if he came (which wasn't the idea, but if he did) he would most certainly bring the rest of the guardians. And Ran must have had already reached Glen or Bunny by now… so yeah… she could wait…

"That's what happens when you get too cocky" she said. She just needed to buy them some time.

But Pitch was having none of that.

"To think you would have been more of a wise spirit… when it turns out you're no better than Frost or the rabbit" he started.

"Well that rabbit and Frost were the ones who defeated you last time" she said while backing off "You didn't think things right… Attacking a seasonal is attacking Mother Nature… You're getting you're self into something bigger than you can manage"

Flowers and roots started to climb up Pitch's and the nightmares legs. The trees kept growling as they surrounded the enemy.

But then Pitch's eyes were in front of her.

"Now, now…" he started with anger "I've been doing my homework young one…" and he grabbed her necklace.

Lily's eyes widened in terror and she gasped.

"Ah…" he sang "May this be what I think it is…?"

No.

Jack. She thought. Everyone… don't come...!

And it started.

Glen was near Australia when Ran appeared in front of him. The little mouse was gasping for air and holding back tears. Glen didn't have to wait long for the little creature to start yelling about stones and lilies and weird guys and black horses. But the point?

Lily was in danger.

He run and run and run even more through his holes towards Switzerland.

But once he got there…

He wished he hadn't.

He found Lily lying in the grass. There were burn marks all over the place as if she had had a fight with Sunny or something.

He hurried towards her and gasped.

"Lil! Lil!" he held her and shook her. Lily's eyes opened tiredly while moaning lowly.

She was sweaty. Lots of scratches and burns all over her body. Her hair was messy and her clothes were ragged and dirty. There were red marks near her neck. Her necklace was gone.

Glen's breath hitched as he saw the wooden piece of jewelry a few feet away. Completely broken, burnt. No more.

He grabbed the rests of the necklace and grabbed Lily between his arm before glancing back to the clearing once more.

The earth was crying…

And so the others found her.

Glen had hurried towards Sera's as soon as he had managed to. She was already aware of course. Gal was there too. He placed Lily on the ground as she let a tiered breath out of her body before closing her eyes.

But Glen couldn't stay. No. He just couldn't… couldn't stay and watch as earth itself took his little flower away… He couldn't… he just…

The rest of them arrived only a second after his departure along with Gal and Ran. And so did they found her.

She was lying on the ground expressionless as flowers started to surround her ever so slowly. None of them noticed the necklace next to her, nor the crushed flowers in her hair. No… they only had eyes to watch the show before them. The show of flowers and grass growing and growing until starting to cover her completely, as if swallowing her to the depths of nowhere…

And she was gone; no trace of a body under those flowers… which kept growing along with an Oak placed exactly where she was supposed to be...

And they just knew…

They just knew… that she was no longer there… neither under the roots of the still growing Oak… nor anywhere for them to find…
