Ready for the 50th chapter?! Well, here it is~ SQUEE~
I don't own Kingdom Hearts~!
I sat up at the sound of that voice, struggling to not fall on my back, seeing as my hands were tied. Roxas was searching around in the semi-darkness, his eyes narrowed.
"I swear…you dare show your face, and I'll…I'll bite it off." my brother snarled.
"Oh, come now. Even if I'm willing to help out you and your dear gypsy friends?" A tall figure stepped towards us, donning a black coat. His face was still concealed in the dark, but I could see glittering eyes looking at my brother. "Shouldn't you be a bit kinder to your savior?"
"Leave us be, nasty pirate. We can figure out our own means to escape." Roxas hissed in reply.
"Normally I would say, 'Suit yourself'. But, this time, Blondie, I'll make an expectation. Just for you."
I watched as a silver knife was taken from the coat, glinting in the soft lantern light. The figure walked forward and bent down, and I stared at a handsome profile with red hair, emerald eyes and small tattoos underneath them. A memory stirred inside me, and I tilted my head to the side, trying to figure out why this stranger seemed so familiar to me. He glanced up at me as he worked on cutting Roxas' bindings, giving me a small grin…and it hit me.
"You!" I gasped. "You're that pirate! Yo-"
"Shut it, alright? Yeah, I'm a pirate; so what? You're a gypsy, but you don't see me gawking at you. Besides," He leaned in and nuzzled Roxas. "Your brother is the only one I wouldn't mind gawking at. Right, Blondie?"
Roxas said nothing, but I could tell he was livid. I waited until he had cut through the rope, setting my twin free. However, the moment Roxas could move his hands, he lunged for the pirate, wrapping his hands around his throat. I stared, wondering what had gotten into my brother…and why this odd pirate got under his skin so easily.
My hands tightened around Axel's neck, ignoring the fact that my own brother was watching all this. Axel chuckled at the look on my face, clearly amused by my actions.
"Do I annoy you that much?" he muttered quietly, still grinning.
"Yes. Why do you keep insisting that you be a part of my life? Stay out of it!" I replied in a whisper so that Sora wouldn't hear.
"No can do, Blondie; you're going to become mine, no matter what." He winked. "And, seeing as you have your hands on me, I seem to be succeeding so far, right?"
I groaned in annoyance and tightened my hold. "Knock it off and tell me why you're here, Axel. I haven't see you since the party…you weren't taken prisoner, too…were you?"
"Nah. I stowed away in the rum cellar they have. I may or may not have indulged myself while I waited for the right opportunity, too." He smirked. "So who knows what I might do to you while I'm drunk, Blondie." he whispered.
I flinched as a large hand ran up my waist, gliding down to my hip. Glaring up at him, my hands tightened even more around his neck. He gave a slight winch, and I gave him a sweetened smile.
"Oops." I said, batting my eyes. "Too much?"
Instead of getting angry, his smirk widened. "You're super feisty, as always. I like that."
I didn't expect him to suddenly lean in for a quick kiss.
Rai hadn't stopped laughing at me since I had tossed all of my stomach into the sea, practically rolling on the floor with tears running down his face. I was ready to punch the laughter right out of him…if I didn't feel so damn awful. I groaned and leaned heavily on the railing of the ship for support, my head and stomach still swimming. I would be staying far from any sort of alcohol for a while…unless I had needed to forget about…everything.
"Man, it felt good to laugh, ya know?" Rai chuckled.
"You're so dead when I feel better, Raijin." I growled.
"Sure, Almasy."
I sighed, shutting my eyes and listening to the ocean waves as they continuously crashed around us. Despite how the sound made my head pound, it still soothed me in a way.
"Hey, Rai." He grunted in reply. "I've been thinking-"
"That's not a good sign." he interrupted, but shut up when I gave him a look.
"I got these innocent people into this situation, and now I need to get them out." I glanced over to him. "You willing to join me?"
"…it'll be dangerous." he commented, a grin coming onto his face.
"I know."
"And we'll be considered traitors throughout all the kingdoms." he added on.
I smirked. "So what?"
"But…" Rai's smile vanished. "The gypsies will do the same…won't they?" he murmured.
"…yes. But I'm willing to let that happen if they're set free."
Rai gave me a sympathetic look, but I didn't return it. Gazing back out to sea, I sighed heavily and let the wind play with my hair. I had a lot to think about.
My hand reached up and made contact with Axel's cheek, forcing him to break the kiss. He stumbled back against the wall, a red mark already beginning to form on his face. He snickered slightly and straightened up. My face burned as he licked his lips, a predatory glimmer in his green eyes.
"So full of spirit, aren't you?" he asked playfully.
"Do that again and I'll grab that knife from you and stab you in the groin." I warned.
He laughed and wiped the mark on his cheek, clearly unaffected by my threat. Damn him and his cocky attitude.
"You'll be mine soon enough. Got that memorized, Blondie?"
"It's Roxas, damnit. Get that memorized?!" I replied as quietly as I could.
Axel's face seemed to change, taking a soft expression. I blinked as he leaned forward again, touching my chin with his fingers. Even in the dark, his eyes shone like a cat.
"Roxas…" He murmured, then chuckled. "Guess I'd better let your brother free, huh?"
I followed his movements as he walked around me to get to Sora, who was staring at me with wide blue eyes. I sighed; I had some explaining to do.
I yawned, but my eyes didn't close; I didn't feel tired. My stomach had been growling for the last couple of hours, but, seeing as they weren't feeding us, so was everyone else's. Leon had taken to sitting in the middle of his cage, refusing to speak to anyone now. It certainly made it easier for me.
I had not left from the corner of my own prison, my body cramped from staying in the same position for so long. I wondered how many days had passed, how many we all had left until we reached our destination. I didn't care what happened to me, but my mind had blanked out on what to do to safe my family and friends. I was losing time, and I hadn't even thought of a single idea. I groaned silently and pressed my forehead to my knees.
"Well, well. What do we have here?"
I didn't bother turning to see who it was, though the voice wasn't familiar to me in any way. Footsteps came closer, then there was the sound of my cell door being shaken slightly. It was another damn soldier looking for some entertainment, who was probably going to throw some food or liquid on me…it hadn't been the first time since this trip.
"You're Hayner Divenity…hmmm…" Footsteps started up and walked closer to where I was. "You aren't what I was expecting. You're rather cute from the back." My eyes widened at the sound of my cage being opened, then footsteps echoing as they stepped inside. "It would seem my soldiers were a bit too rough with you and your comrades. I'll have to change that, won't I?"
"Leave." I finally said, my body wanting to jump up and run for freedom. "Now."
"I believe you're the one that's in chains, am I right?" A hand grabbed a fistful of my hair and pulled me to my feet. "I'd like to see the face that's enraptured Almasy so much. Indulge me, won't you?"
I was forced to turn, and met face to face with dark purple eyes framed by long, silver hair. I winced as the hand in my hair tightened pulling me a bit too close for comfort. Who was this guy?
"Hayner….you aren't what I expected. You're quite the troublesome thief, you know." He framed my chin with his free hand. "Very pretty. I hate to say it, but Almasy chose a good one." He chuckled darkly. "Makes me sort of wish I got to you first, gypsy. I bet you're more sexy and submissive than you look." he smirked.
"Let me go, damnit." I said in return, wincing when he yanked on my hair.
He brought his face close to mine and hummed in thoughtfulness. "You…I think I'll take you to my room before you meet your demise at the castle. That shall be quite fun, don't you agree?" He let go and dropped me onto the floor. "I'll be anticipating it, gypsy." he said, and left the cell, making sure to lock it back up.
Leon's eyes were on me, but I only crawled back into my corner and curled back into a ball….I hoped that time with him never came.
Man, what an asshole. Poor Hayner...
I love you, Axel! Gah, Roxas and him are so cute. I love how Sora was just watching. XD
And Seifer and Rai are now beginning to plan. Let's hope this goes well.
