After the two dragons had gained a reasonable height above the ground and all present company had adjusted to the phenomenon of their current travel method, the five Pokémon scanned the scenery below as they passed.

For a while, the team traveled in silence, content with the rush of the wind past them and the expanse of trees below. Eventually, the silence became a bit too much for Luke, prompting the young Pokémon to strike up a conversation.

"Hey, Zekrom," he said.

"Yeah, Luke?" the Pokémon in question replied.

"What gave you the idea of you and Reshiram carrying the three of us to where we were headed next?" Luke asked.

"First off, you guys don't have all the time in the world to spend hiking such a great distance," Zekrom noted.

"That's true," Luke admitted. "Thanks for looking out for us, guys."

"Another reason for my idea," Zekrom continued, "was my memory of that first visit to Reshiram; although it was just the two of us at first. You had a similar flight with Kyurem, if I'm not mistaken."

"Yeah, I did…" Luke replied, a hint of sadness present in his voice. "…but in any case, I appreciate the thought, Zekrom. This will save us a significant amount of time, just as you said before."

Blaze and Kinesis echoed Luke's gratitude, then the travelers fell silent once again, continuing their northbound flight with a view of the scenery below and the sky above. However, in response to the breathtaking view, Luke and his teammates struck a conversation about the world around them.

After a long while of Team Fireheart's lightened exchange, Reshiram cut in with a question of her own.

"Where were you three heading?" she asked.

"Out exact destination is the Iceberg Tundra, where Regice lives," Luke answered. "Although, it would probably be better to drop us off at Northwind Village so we can prepare for what's ahead of us and also see if we can get some more information about where we're going."

"Not a bad idea," Blaze admitted.

I agree, Kinesis added. We should stop and learn more about what lies along our path toward Regice, and a good night's sleep does go a long way in boosting a team's morale.

"So Northwind Village then?" Reshiram asked.

"Yes," Luke confirmed.

"Alright, then," Zekrom began, "hold on tight."

With that, the two dragons altered their flight path as needed, still heading north, but now following a course that would take them to Northwind Village. A while later, the travelers took a break, allowing Reshiram and Zekrom to rest their wings a bit while Luke, Blaze, and Kinesis studied the map and discussed where they needed to go.

"After we finish things with Regice," Luke began as he took note of his team's current location, we have to find our way up here…" He lightly tapped the mark on the map indicating the location of the Iron Ruins. "…and make our way to wherever Registeel's hiding."

"We've got a tough fight ahead of us once we get there," Blaze said, tensing up.

"I'm aware," Luke replied. "With what I went through against Regirock, I don't expect the other two…meetings…to go any easier."

It's not just the confrontation with Registeel you have to worry about, Luke, Kinesis cut in. That place is a maze, and true to its name, it's gone unused by anyone for a very long time. Getting to it might go well, but navigating those ruins to get to Registeel is the real obstacle, once we get to that point.

"So we have some caves to search through," Luke noted. "Dad and I have navigated a few of those; we'll be fine as long as we don't fall apart."

"Son, anything can go wrong," Blaze said, calmly. "We have no way of knowing if those tunnels really are empty. But before we worry ourselves over this too much, we still have Regice to deal with first."

"I know," Luke admitted. "The Iceberg Tundra—more than likely just a field of snow and ice with Regice's cave somewhere along the way."

I don't mean to jump too far ahead here, Kinesis suddenly began, but after we get past Regice and Registeel, we head for Regigigas, correct?

"That's the plan," Luke replied. "Get the other two keys, then get to Regigigas. Hopefully, we don't have to much more running around to do after that…"

"I know what you mean," Blaze began, "we're all feeling a bit exhausted from all of this traveling back and forth. Maybe finding Regigigas is the last thing we'll need to do, but then again, maybe it's not. We won't actually know that until that day comes."

"Yeah, I got that," Luke sighed.

After the discussion, Luke and the others enjoyed a satisfying lunch, then gathering their things and continued the journey toward Northwind Village. As the village grew closer and closer, Luke's mind returned to his initial visit, back when he was searching for Kyurem. Naturally, with those memories flooding his mind, Luke broke down and cried, worrying the others.
"Luke?" Reshiram asked. "What's wrong?"

"I-I'm sorry, guys," Luke cried. "I— I just— I've been to Northwind Village before, a little while back…"

"Your sadness doesn't come from what you experienced within that village," Zekrom noted. "Your sudden grief comes from…something else from that time, right?"

"Yeah," Luke admitted.

I don't intend to intrude, Kinesis began, but what was it from your first visit to Northwind Village that has you so upset?

"When I came here before," Luke softly began, "It was after I'd visited Reshiram back when the mess regarding her home was the current issue we had to deal with. Let's just say some complications forced a bit of a detour, and Northwind Village was one of the places I'd stopped along the way."

What exactly were you searching for? Kinesis asked. Where did these complications send you?

"To Kyurem's lair way up north," Luke answered.

"There's more to it than that," Zekrom said. "In a way, I was with Luke during that part of his journey, so I remember the difficulty he faced in finding Kyurem."

"Luke…" Reshiram softly cut in. "They have a right to know the full story; they are your teammates, after all."

"I know," Luke admitted with a sigh.

After regaining his composure, Luke described the chain of events from the first visit with Reshiram to the meeting with Kyurem. Once finished, he fell silent to give the others a chance to add any of their own comments.

"I may not have said anything before," Blaze began, "but I'm really proud of you for handling things so well, considering the tough circumstances you had to face. You were in good hands, no doubt."

She was definitely watching over you…in more ways than one, Kinesis added; the reverent tone of voice he used was evidence of the lingering sense of respect he still held for the Pokémon in question.

"Thanks, everyone," Luke said with a sigh of contentment. "I didn't mean to fall apart like that, but with teammates as great as all of you, I shouldn't worry as much as I have."

With everything resolved, the team had made significant progress toward Northwind Village, and by nightfall, they had reached their destination.

"Good luck, guys," Zekrom said.

"Yes," Reshiram added, "and be careful on your journey. We'll be sure to help you as much as we can, but even if we aren't able to reach you, we'll at least be thinking of you."

"Thank you, Reshiram," Blaze replied. "We'll certainly do our best."

"Zekrom, before you leave," Luke cut in, "I need an explanation for something."

"Certainly," the black dragon replied. "What's the concern?"

"Back at Regirock's cave, you'd stayed outside, correct?" Luke asked.

"Yes, though I'd left to patrol the area," Zekrom explained. "I made it back as soon as I could, but by then, you and your teammates had already finished your business with Regirock. I truly wanted to assist you, but there was something…interfering with that desire, I suppose."

"I'm not mad at you for flying away, or anything like that," Luke calmly explained, "I was just wondering what you did while we were inside the cave."

"I see," Zekrom replied.

After some words of encouragement, Reshiram and Zekrom flew away, leaving Team Fireheart on its own again.

"Well, here we are," Luke noted.

"And it'll likely just be the three of us for quite some time," Blaze added, "which means that we'll have to make sure we're absolutely ready to go before setting off toward the Iceberg Tundra."

Then we have our arrangements, Kinesis noted.

With their spirits restored, Luke and the others entered Northwind Village.
