Secret Report

It is said that the blood of the Crystal Guardians of the Citadel is Life itself, able to keep any prisoners alive for all of eternity so as long as they remained suspended in the crystal prisons. However it has also been proven that their blood has the greatest potential for healing, creating new cells along with regrowing nerves and skin but unable to restore bones. A curious feature but one not inconvenient as I believe these abilities can be used for something greater.

The Keyblade's power lies in its ability to lock or unlock almost anything, including the powers and abilities of others. It can remove or seal the specific powers of its targets, including living beings. Thus I believe it is possible to utilize the life blood of the Crystal Guardians by removing their healing abilities from their blood ans transferring it into a new vessel, thus not only creating a new form of healing but even creating a body capable of regeneration. And if this is possible I can create a way to extend my lifespan enough to carry out my plans.

It is a curious venture but like forging the X-Blade, one worth exploring.

I have already approached someone who looked to be promising for helping me reach the Citadel but unfortunately his capture was too premature for me to fully make use of. I need a way to ensure that balance of power is in my favor before risking a confrontation with the Cosmic Guard. Fortunately this time I have my apprentice Mal and the temporary assistance of the Lich whose power is easily a match for the Cosmic Guard. I need only to prepare for the right time to make my move.

"Wishes can be so helpful at times." Chris said, looking over the place that had been created by his wish.

The Mirage Arena.

A series of battle arenas for the greatest of heroes and villains.

It would be the greatest show in the universe.

"Now let's see what Xehanort is up to." Chris said, bringing up the image of the Citadel. "So the old man's restored himself. Now things are going to get really interesting."

"Where is he?!" Zoey shouted, slashing at Mal who somersaulted back to avoid her strikes.

Just as Mal landed on the edge of the island there was on someone appeared next to him, holding a dark Keyblade.

Gwen stopped when she saw the man, recognizing him but saw how different he was. "Xehanort!"

But it wasn't the elderly Xehanort she had met before. This was a young man with long hair and now showing the great power he held just by the mere sight of his physical appearance.

"Young Gwendolyn, I see your eyes are as sharp as they were the last time we met. You suspected me, on the very day I brought young Michael to the Land of Depature, didn't you? And you spent all that time with Mike, believing you were protecting him. Fortunately my apprentice was able to lure Michael away from your sight." Xehanort remarked, casually strolling around the edge. "But I must congratulate you on your vigilance. You were able to see what my old friend, Eraqus could not. And now you have made it here to the Citadel, near the center of the Multi-verse."

"What did you do?" Gwen questioned.

Xehanort smirked, holding up a hand. "I showed the universe my resolve."

"Where is Mike?" Zoey demanded, looking just ready to attack.

"He's safe. He's needed alsewhere." Xehanort answered cryptically as Mal disappeared into a portal of Darkness. "Just as the both of you are."

"Bring…Him…Back…NOW!" Zoey shouted before lunging at Xehanort.

"Zoey wait!" Gwen called out, trying to calm her friend down.

Zoey paid no attention to Gwen as she swung both blades at Xehanort's head, only for Xehanort to raise his Keyblade in defense, blocking both Zoey's Keyblade and Sensei Jack's sword.

Xehanort's smirk widened slightly as a dark pulse erupted from his Keyblade, knocking Zoey back. "At long last it begins again. The Keyblades of Light and Darkness shall battle out in the open, as it was always meant to be."

Zoey jumped back onto her feet and took an offensive stance.

"Zoey!" Gwen ran up to Zoey and stood next to her. "You can't attack him head on! He's a Keyblade Master and has been one for over half a century! You got to be careful going up against him! One mistake and you are dead."

"I am going to make him bring Mike back!" Zoey said, not showing that she heard any of Gwen's words at all.

Zoey lunged again, this jumping through the air and aiming at kick at Xehanort's head. Xehanort however ducked and allowed Zoey land behind him. He spun around and blocked Zoey's follow up attack then slashed back at her, pushing her back with an astounding amount of strength even though he was only holding his Keyblade with one hand. Zoey fell back, using aerobatics dodge his strikes and flipped back at Xehanort pursued her.

Gwen could only watch in stunned silence as Zoey, a person she knew to be extremely skilled was being pushed back and Xehanort was only using one hand. And what was worse is that he didn't even look like he was trying as he used basic combos but they all had enough power that if Zoey hadn't dodged or parried they would have been killing blows. She wasn't lying when she said Xehanort was an experienced Keyblade Master while she hadn't been one for even a month yet. Xehanort not only had years of experience ahead of her but he was also smarter then her and more skilled in magic.

She knew they couldn't win this fight.

And yet she knew if she didn't do something Xehanort would seriously hurt or kill Zoey.

"GAH!"

Gwen's eyes widened as she watched Xehanort deliver a powerful blow that knocked Zoey down. "Zoey!"

Xehanort glanced up as Gwen leapt up and swung her Keyblade down at his head. The Keyblade Master stepped back, easily dodging the slash while smirking at Gwen's attack.

"Welcome, young master. So glad of you to join us." Xehanort greet casually.

Gwen pointed her Keyblade at Xehanort. "Stay back. You are not harming a single hair on my friend's head."

"On the contrary, young master. I have no intention of harming her so as long as she continues to be of use to me." Xehanort stated calmly.

Zoey got back up, picking up her Keyblade and Sensei Jack's sword. "I am not your puppet."

"Puppet? That would imply that you have no control in your life. My intention is not to control but to ensure that you all reach your full potential." Xehanort replied, grinning. "But let's save the accusations for later. Now is the time…" He pointed his Keyblade at the two heroes. "To see who can survive."

From the tip of his Keyblade came a barrage of Dark Bolts that shot towards Gwen and Zoey who quickly jumped out of the way of the attacks. Zoey leapt at Xehanort again who amusedly blocked her strike consisting of both swords. Gwen moved in, aiming her Keyblade at Xehanort's chest but he quickly deflected her attack easily and held out one hand, unleashing a blast of wind that slammed into Gwen, knocking her back. He followed up by teleporting behind Gwen, aiming to strike her but Gwen ducked under his slash and rolled forward, jumping back onto her feet and spinning around to point her Keyblade at Xehanort.

"Thunder!"

Xehanort smirked and held up one hand, easily catching the bolt of lightning Gwen had summoned with his own bare hand. Zoey jumped in as both she and Gwen went on the offensive, attacking Xehanort as one. It was duel that had not been witnessed in a millennia as all three warriors united their hearts with their weapons. Zoey was quick and agile, dancing through the air as she danced and twirled, slashing against Xehanort's Keyblade.

Gwen relied on coordination and magic, using a Reflega to create an absolute defense in front of her while working in tandem with Zoey. However Xehanort used a style that utilized strength, speed, and coordination as one, blocking every strike easily with the mere flick of a wrist and launching a blow that would have perhaps broken an arm or leg if it wasn't properly deflected or parried. Xehanort held his Keyblade in one hand, using his free hand to conjure spells to keep to keep Gwen and Zoey off balance. He teleported without anticipation, appearing in their blind spots and launching quick combos that Gwen and Zoey barely had time to dodge or block.

They even suspected that Xehanort was holding back and was simply playing with them.

Zoey leapt up, delivering a heavy with both her swords that Xehanort blocked. Zoey somersaulted over Xehanort, landing behind him. Xehanort spun around and clashed his Keyblade with both of Zoey's swords, pushing her back. Zoey used her dancing and agility moves to dodge Xehanort's blows but she was being pushed back and overwhelmed by Xehanort's impossible strength until finally Xehanort unleashed a wind spell that knocked Zoey off the small island and into the water. Xehanort waved a single hand and as Zoey swam back up to the surface a whirlpool suddenly appeared, pulling her back under.

"Zoey!" Gwen shouted in horror and pointed her Keyblade at the water. "Collision Magnet!"

A beam of yellow light shot from Gwen's Keyblade and into the water. A second later Zoey was pulled out of the water and towards Gwen who released her from the spell, along Zoey was to brought down to the ground.

Gwen knelt down next to Zoey who coughed and spat out water. "Are you okay?"

Zoey looked up with partially dazed eyes. "Yeah, thanks Gwen."

Xehanort faced Gwen. "Do not worry. She is needed elsewhere."

Gwen raised her Keyblade. "You're not taking her."

"Taking her? She has already been sent by the portal I summoned." Xehanort replied, raising his Keyblade. "Now it's only you and me, young master. You've proven to be a skilled with your Keyblade but let's see if you are a match for this."

He pointed his Keyblade up into the sky and a beam of a darkness shot up, creating a black orb in the sky. Suddenly pieces of the Citadel were pulled up from the ground along with the water up towards the orb, attracted to it like it was a black hole. Gwen and Zoey watched in shock and horror as the small orb attracted enough mass to become a giant boulder, shaped like a miniature moon the size of a large house in the sky. Xehanort snapped his fingers and a blast of fired light the floating mass became a literaly large meteor that fell towards the stunned Keybladers.

"Starburst!" Gwen shouted, firing a barrage of star shaped bolts at the falling meteor but they did very little damage to it as it continued to fall.

"We got to run!" Zoey shouted.

"Yes. You should." Xehanort raised one clenched hand and opened it, releasing a gust of wind that slammed into Zoey as a portal appeared behind her.

Zoey was knocked off her feet and sent into the portal.

"ZOEY!" Gwen shouted but had no time to go after her friend as the portal vanished, leaving her with Xehanort and the meteor.

She quickly conjured a barrier but it was no match for the meteor as it slammed into her barrier, engulfing her in an explosion.

Xehanort lowered his Keyblade and approached the crash site, watching as the water filled the crash site. He raised his hand and out of the water came Gwen's body, lifted by Xehanort's telekinetic powers.

"You survived."

Gwen was badly burned head to toe and barely clinging to life based on what Xehanort had sensed from her rapidly fading life force. Even her hair was burning away. She had used her magic to protect herself but it wasn't enough.

"Do not worry. Your life does not end here. In fact, it has only begun. Eraqus trained you well but his method is tame compared to the old ways of training a Keyblader." Xehanort held out his hand and Gwen's body was lifted off the ground. "No doubt to erase the shame and sins of our brothers who fought in the Keyblade War. Unfortunately when one refuses to learn from history you only doom yourself to repeat it. Fortunately I chose to question and change what I saw wrong with the methods my brother apprentice chose."

Xehanort stepped onto the water, using ice magic to created a path from the water to the corpse of the Crystal Guardian whose blood he had used to rejuvenate his body.

"In the old days when the Keyblade Order was first formed an apprentice had to complete the five trials. The Trial Skill that tests your skills, techniques, and stamina in battle in war or perhaps even in the temple against fellow apprentices or even a master. The Trial of Courage is when you show tremendous bravery in the face of overwhelming and impossible odds . The Trial of Flesh, when you must overcome great physical pain or hardship, perhaps even losing something such as a limb but managing to endure." Xehanort began. "The Trial of Spirit, for when you face what you fear the most, going on a quest of self-discovery. And the last test, the Trial of Insight when an apprentice's true persona is tested through facing illusions born from inside your own heart and mind. When an apprentice passes all these trials, they become master. A master born of skill, endurance and the the strength with the power of the heart to guide the Keyblade."

He placed Gwen inside the guardian's head and submerged her in its blood.

"Of course the Keyblade Apprentices who followed the Darkness had a similiar test with one key different. The Trial of Sacrifice. It is expected for them to be trained to take lives but their first life is the most important. To truly be prepared to face the emotional pain of taking a single life or many and thus they were tested by being ordered to kill the ones who are closest to them." Xehanort stated, watching Gwen vanished into the blood. "It could have been a close friend, a family member or even the master who trained them. In the end it did not matter for if the apprentice failed he was too weak and if he succeeded he would have killed the weak and culled the small. The first significant death that showed they served the Darkness, devoting their hearts and bodies completely to the path they have been trained to follow."

He waved a single hand that pulsed with Darkness.

"Ironically I have yet to pass that test and the same can be said for my apprentice and disciples. You are the first true Keyblade Master and I offer you my sincere congratulations. You fell as an apprentice but you will emerge as a master. You have passed all your trials that I have laid out before you. " Xehanort said, pointing his Keyblade down at Gwen. "Now you shall be reborn as a true Keyblade Master like our brothers."

A beam of light shot from the tip of his Keyblade, touching Gwen's heart and creating a flash of white and green light as Xehanort used a healing spell to repair the bones that been damaged by the meteor since the guardian blood cannot repair bones.

"The apprentice Gwendolyn died in the fire. Rise Keyblade Master Aqua." Xehanort said, grinning as he vanished into a portal of Darkness.

A moment later Gwen sat up in the pool of Guardian blood, gasping for breath. Her hair was now completely restored and blue at medium length while her skin was still pale but not pale white as before while her eyes were ocean blue.

"Wh-Where am I?" Gwen or rather Aqua whispered as she looked around. "What happened? I can't…I was with someone and…"

She could barely remember anything about herself.

"Aqua…Is that my name?" She wondered out loud. "I guess it is."

She held our her hand and summoned her Keyblade, holding it up and remembering something. Images of her training with the weapon in her hand flashed in her mind.

"Keyblade. I have a Keyblade…I travel to places…Looking for someone." Aqua whispered as she stood up, her body healed and her clothes repaired.

She remembers a few faces.

A girl with red hair and a yellow flower in it.

A tanned skinned boy with black hair, dressed in green.

Another dark skinned boy wearing glasses.

A tall dark haired young man with a kind face.

She emerged from the corpse of the Crystal Guardian and looked around, seeing no one else here with her.

"No one here." Aqua said before transforming her Keyblade into its glider form. "I'll just have to find someone to help me."

She touched the armor on her arms, summoning her armor and stepped onto her glider, leaving the remains of the Citadel behind.

"Wow that was just brutal." Chris laughed as he watched the ending of the battle in the Citadel. "And I loved it! And thus ends the Citadel Arc. What will happen next? Who will almost die? Find out next time on Total…Drama…Birth by Sleep!"
