Just as Jack and Bunny predicted Tooth and Sandy were just as excited about Jack's regain in memory as North. Though the through all the excitement Jack could tell there was more to their reactions than just happiness. There were several moments where Jack caught glimpse of what he could only assume was relief.

When everyone finally calmed down enough, and Tooth finally was able to sit still Jack began his explanation of how his memories had returned to him. They three remained quiet as Jack repeated to them what he had told Bunny earlier. Though he did leave the more intimate details from his tale. When at last he finished Jack waited for the questions that he knew were sure to come. He look around to his family and to his mate as he waited.

The Guardians remained silent for several moments when Jack at last finished his explanation. They knew Jack wasn't telling them everything but from what they could gather the details he was with holding were not for their ears.

After several long moments of silence they to like Bunny began to ask questions. North asked if he could recall any of what happened while they were held captive by Pitch.

Just as he had told Bunny Jack told the others that he could not. The memories of what took place passed when he was injected with the strange potion were just gone. Unlike the last few weeks while he had been trying to regain his memory when he could feel his memories just beyond his reach. Jack couldn't even feel a glimps of what had been.

It didn't go unnoticed by Jack the unmistakable look of relief that fell over his family's faces at this news. Nor the haunted look that seem to appear in their eyes as they in turn thought of what had happened. Nor did he miss the way Bunny grip tightened at the mention of it. Though Bunny had told him the jist of what had happen it was now that he finally understood how deep of an impact the events of the past month had effect his family.

"Vell let us not dwell on de matter any longer. Vhats done ees done. Let us instead celebrate having our Jack back," North stated in his usual jolly tone "lets us feast to celebrate being a family again."

And so they spent the rest of the evening enjoying themselves as they feasted and talked of what Jack had missed out on since he had woken up. There was in fact quite a bit of things that Jack had missed out on during the course of the pass month.

At on point during dinner North watched from his place at the head of the table as the other laughed and chatted. To watch the way they interacted one would never know that anything had happen to begin with. Tooth's hyper active manner causing a laugh among the the others as she switched from the topic at hand to ordering her mini fairies and back again all without missing a beat. Sandy trying to put his own two cent in on the conversation and being ignored by everyone save Jack who would draw him into the conversation. It was funny when one really though about it. Before Jack they all assumed that Sandy hardly said anything, but after he had joined their little band they realized that Sandy was in fact very talkative. They had just never taken the time to pay attention to their smallest member. Bunny sat at Jack's side sneaking glances when he though Jack wasn't looking. The brightest smile he had seen grace his old friend's face since Jack had returned from his time away. Jack well he was just as happy if not more so than Bunny or the others. His very presence seemed to lighten the mood of the room into one of fellowship and merriment.

It was for these reasons North was content to watch as his family became one again. Not that it hadn't been before, but without Jack having hardly any memories of his time as a guardian. Things just seemed off among everyone. There were things they couldn't talk about. Things that Jack would ask things that there was no real way of answering without telling him what they themselves were trying to forget. As North sat and watched his family those thoughts seemed to just fade away.

It was close to midnight when Bunny was finally able to steel Jack away from the others. An act for which Jack was grateful for because he hadn't been to sleep since the day before. Bunny walked Jack to his room just as he had when they were still courting. They walked in silence content to just be in each other's presence.

"'Ere we are," Bunny stated when they reached Jack's door. He didn't make any move to open it. Despite Jack having his memories back Bunny wasn't sure where they stood. He wasn't sure if Jack would want him to stay the night with him or not. Despite his mate's eagerness to be around him he still felt that he was unease if not nervous when he got too close.

Jack smiled as he reached for the door handle. He opened the door and pushed it open stepping into the room that was ever so familiar to him. He had only taken a few steps when he realized Bunny was still standing outside the door.

"What are you waiting for," Jack asked turning sightly so that he could see his mate.

"Oh sorry luv, guess I just wasn't payin' attention," Bunny fibbed as he entered the room closing the door softly behind him. Jack shook his head slightly not catching on the fact he had just fibbed.

Jack walked instead to the adjoining bathroom with the intent to change in to his pajamas. Bunny in turn removed his arm braces and bandolier placing them neatly by his side of the bed. He smiled at the thought. His side, it had been over a month since he had shared a bed with his Jack and yet it was with ease that he fell back into his nightly habits that he had developed.

"What are you smiling at," Jack called in his ever cheery voice as he emerged from the bathroom dressed in only a pair of sleep pants.

Bunny looked up only to have his breath catch in his throat at the site. Jack's pale skin catching the light of the moon making it appear as if his skin were glowing. The pale blue markings to appeared as if they were glowing. It was a sight he had missed dearly.

"Hello earth to Aster," Jack called now much closer to Bunny's face.

"I...ummm...was...umm...just," Bunny stuttered as he tried to find his words again.

"It okay Aster you don't have to explain," Jack said with a laugh. He knew that he was the cause of his mate's sudden lack of words. He could always make him speechless when he chose to.

Bunny glared playfully realizing he had once again fallen pray to one of his mate's oldest games.

"Aww rack off ya bloody show pony," Bunny said not really meaning it pouting as he did so.

"Sorry didn't mean to catch off your guard like that," Jack said with a guilty smile as he climb up on to the bed where Bunny was sitting. As he did so Jack couldn't help but to feel nervous. Why he wasn't sure. Maybe it had something to do with the fact of sharing a bed with his mate for the first time in so long.

Bunny watched as Jack crawled towards him. His heart almost skipping a beat. It was twice now that Jack had managed to take his breath away without even trying. It wasn't until that moment that Bunny realized just how much he'd missed the little things. Sights he wasn't sure he would ever see again beyond his memories, and to see and experience them again made such small things all the more precious to him.

Bunny manage to loses himself once more in thought to the point he didn't realize just how close Jack was until he felt him press himself against his side. He looked down just as Jack looked up to him innocently. A content smile on his lips. A smile that Bunny couldn't help but return.

"What are you thinking about," Jack asked as Bunny wrapped his arms around him drawing him closer.

"Just how much I missed this," Bunny answered softly tightening his embrace a little. His smile growing brighter.

"Me to," Jack said with a content smile.

Bunny looked at him with a confused look his eyebrow knotting as he looked down to his mate "'ow that," he asked not sure how his mate could possibly miss something he never knew he had.

Jack smile lessened "ever since I woke up in the infirmary I just had a feeling something was missing when I would go to sleep. Now I know it was because you weren't with me," Jack as explained.

Bunny nodded along with his mate's explanation. It made since considering everything he had been told earlier.

The two laid in each others embrace for several moments. Jack laid against Bunny's chest as Bunny relaxed against the pillows and head board. Both content to sleep as they were. They were both exhausted from the days events.

But sleep was the last thing on Jack's mind at the moment. He still had to tell his mate of his plans for the morning. A fact he knew wouldn't please him in the slightest.

"You know I can't stay right," Jack stated breaking the silence. He could hear Bunny's breath catch in his throat as he laid against his chest.

"What," Bunny exclaimed when he at last found his words all thoughts of sleep forgotten. He looked down at his mate in disbelief "whatch mean ya can't stay," he asked.

"I mean I have to go see Nature in the morning. Now that I have my memories back I have responsibilities I have to take care of," Jack said though it was clear that he was not at all thrilled by the idea either.

"I thought ya 'ad the fall off this year," Bunny asked. He was confused yet relieved by Jack's answer.

"I so long as my memories were missing I did but now that they are back I have to see Nature about my duties for this year. I wish I could stay though," Jack said curling closer into Bunny's side "but Rin knows that my memories have returned and I seriously doubt she hasn't told Nature by now. In which case she will be expecting me..." Jack said trailing off.

Bunny tighten his arms around his mate. He didn't like the idea of Jack being away from him now more than ever. However there was nothing he could do about it and he knew it. They had responsibilities that had to be fulfilled and he knew better than any what would happen if they weren't. Letting out a heavy sigh he rested his check against the top of Jack's snowy white locks.

"Well if ya gotta go then I suppose theirs nothin' I can do ta stop ya," he let out a heavy sigh before looking down to his mate "though could ya at least take the mornin'," Bunny asked trying to make the time they had together a little longer.

"I don't see why I can't," Jack said looking up a him as he smiled lovingly back up at Bunny before resting his head against his chest. He close his eye meaning only to rest them for a few moments only to fall asleep.

Bunny could tell by the slow even breathing that Jack had fallen asleep. He smile to himself. He move his head slightly so that he could kiss the top of his mate's head.

"I love ya Jackie," Bunny said under his breath before he too closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Author's Note:

I am so sorry it has taken so long for me to update. I promise you I haven't forgotten I have just been super busy. It has been a mad house at work. By the time I got off and got home all I really wanted to do was sleep. Add on top of that writes block I couldn't figure out how to write this chapter. Anyways the next chapter I will promise will be out by Christmas. I have a special short plan for then. It may or may not fit into what has been going on but please bear with me. With any luck I will update a lot more because I finally got my new computer and am no longer writing on my iPad. Maybe with a little more luck my grammar and spelling will improve. Don't hold your breaths on that one though. Anyways please review and tell me what you think of the chapter it really helps to write new chapters when I get reviews. Until next time...
