College is kicking my butt for updates. Sorry guys. So we're back with the Jaegers in this one, it's not the big battle that I promised you guys...but that will be soon, I promise. So, here's 55.

I own nothing.

Chapter 55

Gipsy shot up with a scream, only to have two strong arms wrap around her.

"Hey…easy, Gips, it's ok," Yancy reassured her, "You're safe, they're not going to hurt you I promise,"

"It was a dream…" she whispered, "Just a dream…"

"More like a nightmare, but yeah,"

Gipsy gave a groan and leaned back, closing her eyes.

"Where are we?" she finally asked, "Last thing I remember was leaving the Shatterdome,"

"You kinda fell asleep," he told her, "Striker carried you all the way here,"

"Where is here?"

"The Encampment," Yancy explained, "Where my forces are stationed. The Jaegers, the pilots, the…others…"

"'Others?'"

"You'll see," Yancy said uncomfortably, "You see, Gips, this enemy, he's older than the world itself and these guys have been fighting him for just as long. He's…pretty much the father of evil,"

He put a hand on her knee.

"And these guys know what they're doing. I was very surprised when I got assigned to lead them…I'm like a baby compared to them,"

"So what are we supposed to do?" Gipsy asked, "If you're like the baby, then I'm worse off than you!"

"We'll figure it out," Yancy said with a smile, "Get some rest, you'll have a long day ahead of you,"

Later, Gipsy woke up to light streaming into her quarters…room…tent…she wasn't sure what exactly it was. But what she did know…was that Yancy was gone and she was alone. The female Jaeger got out of bed and started towards the front of the space, opening the door…

"Gipsy!" a male voice called and dark arms wrapped around the female Jaeger as she stepped out of the building where she had been resting.

"Ow! Romeo!" Gipsy yelped, "Easy! Can't breathe!"

"Oh…sorry," the red-amber eyed Jaeger said sheepishly, "It's just good to see you up. Everyone's waiting on you,"

"And…Striker?" Gipsy asked.

"Getting his can kicked by one of the Guard,"

"The what?!" Gipsy sputtered and Romeo Blue gave a bright smirk, grabbing her arm.

"C'mon!"

The two made their way through the camp until they reached an open area in the middle. The Mark III found Striker easy enough…but Gipsy's jaw dropped as she saw the easily seven (maybe eight) foot person sparring with him.

Whatever it was, it was very evident it wasn't human. He was covered in silver armor that flashed like lightning when he moved, his head was hidden behind an intricate helm, showing only the blue and gold eyes in the slit. What skin could be seen was an even bronze color and he was very well toned in muscular structure.

But what really struck him as not human was the fact that his head area was wreathed in some sort of fiery aura…and these huge wings that flared from his back. They looked like molten metal, a rippling silver…and they looked soft to the touch.

"I wouldn't advise touching the wings," Romeo advised, "They look soft…but they can be razor sharp when one of the Guard don't want you touching them,"

Gipsy gave a mute nod just as Striker gave a yelp, hitting the ground while the Guard put a wickedly sharp blade to his throat.

"Dead," the Guard rumbled, a deep baritone that shook Gipsy's bones.

"Thirteen outta fifteen!" Striker protested as the Guard offered a massive, gauntleted hand to the Jaeger.

Striker took it, his hand engulfed in the silver metal as the Guard picked him up like he was feather-light.

"And you would lose…thirteen out of seventeen times," the Guard laughed, warm and deep and smooth.

"I'm just getting' warmed up, Elyon," Striker huffed.

The Guard's eye sparked in mirth before flicking towards Gipsy.

"It seems that our sparring will have to continue some other day," Elyon said with a slight bow, "The Huntress has awakened,"

Striker's head whipped towards Gipsy and his gold gaze lit up happily.

"You're awake!" he beamed, coming over to Gipsy and kissing her lightly on the cheek.

"Striker…who…?" Gipsy stuttered, watching as Elyon's massive form moved farther into the encampment.

"Elyon is one of the Guard," Striker explained, "Um…I think most of the humans call his kind Messengers…or Angels,"

"Angels?!"

"Yeah…and Elyon is one of the nice ones, a lot of 'em are formal with ya, but there's a whole bunch of 'em that are really warm,"

"Nice ones…"

"There are a bunch that aren't very friendly…the enemy has 'is own army of bad ones. The Guard are taking 'em out…along with some of our kind," Striker explained.

"So…what does that mean we're going to do?" Gipsy asked.

"Y' might have to go see Yancy for that one,"

"He's in the middle of the Encampment," Romeo piped up helpfully, "Probably talkin' with some of the head Guard,"

"Can you lead us there?" Gipsy asked.

"Sure!" Romeo beamed, "The rest of your team are already there, so you'll all be together for your debriefing,"

"And Sleeping Beauty is awake," Yancy beamed as Gipsy, Striker and Romeo came into the room.

"You've got a lot of explaining to do, angel boy," Gipsy growled.

"Technically I'm not one," Yancy smirked, "But…these guys…"

Gipsy's gaze lit on two figures that dwarfed Elyon. Their armor was almost molten white, so bright that Gipsy couldn't look at it for long for fear of going blind. They, unlike Elyon, bore no helms, so their longish locks flowed down their shoulders, raven black and shining gold. Their wings, equally massive and impressive as the two Guard themselves, seemed made of living fire while their aura encircling their heads nearly blurred out their facial features.

"Gipsy, these are Michael and Gabriel, my co-commanders," Yancy said softly.

"It is a pleasure to meet one which the Father views so highly," the raven-haired Guard said with a curt bow, "You and your five siblings are an inspiration to our cause,"

"You have been very brave, Gipsy Danger, something that we wish to commend you on," the other replied.

"Um…thanks?" Gipsy squeaked.

"She handled it better than you did, Roni," came a familiar snicker.

Gipsy turned to face her family, four Jaegers who were standing towards the back.

"At least I didn't keel over, Crimson," Tacit snapped, whacking the three-armed Jaeger upside the head.

"Guys, stop fighting, please?" Coyote asked.

"I stop it…" Cherno offered, "But comrades might not want way I do it,"

"Enough, all of you," Gipsy growled, and the others fell silent while Gipsy nodded and turned back to Yancy.

"So…what are you wanting us to do?" she asked.

"You six and the Kaiju on our side are going to be snuck into the enemy's fortress," Yancy replied, touching the countertop and pulling up a hologram of a tower, "Once inside, we need you to grab the power-core,"

A smooth-looking globe appeared in the air.

"And we need you to set it to detonate," Yancy continued, "Once detonated, the resulting explosion will close the Breach for good and cut off their way to influence the Living world,"

"As long as one or more of us doesn't have to blow up…I think we'll be good," Gipsy nodded.

"You need to get to a certain spot to detonate the core," Gabriel explained, "Yancy Beckett will give you a tracker that will be able to tell you when you are in the correct spot,"

"Once you activate the core, you will have exactly five minutes to retreat," Michael rumbled, "There is no stopping it once it starts,"

"Sneak in, find the bomb, put it in position, activate it, then book it outta there…" Striker nodded, "Sounds like a plan,"

"What about you?" Gipsy asked, "What are you all going to do?"

"We're going to draw the bulk of their forces away from the tower," Yancy replied, "Give you guys a shot at the core,"

Gipsy was silent for a moment before looking up at her eldest brother.

"When do we leave?"

"You'll have a few minutes," Yancy told her, "Elyon will get you in and then rejoin us,"

After the group had left, Romeo Blue had just started towards the front lines when Yancy grabbed his arm.

"Romeo, I need you to get five other Jaegers and go to the Shatterdome," Yancy instructed.

"Me? Why?" the red-amber eyed Jaeger blinked.

"I don't think that the enemy is going to just let my brother and his team get off scott-free,"

"You think he might send a Kaiju or two?"

"Possibly,"

"Alright then, I'll get Nova, Brawler, Horizon, Matador, and Eden and we'll take those sucka's out,"

"Be careful!" Yancy called as the Jaeger dashed away, "and good luck!"

He looked over at his troops one last time.

"We're all gonna need it,"

Now before a bunch of you nail me on this, I guess you can guess who the enemy and El are. I picked them because what more perfect a villain? And in my mind, you can't have a little divine intervention without a little divinity. I am not trying to shove my belief down your throat and if having those two in here makes you not want to read it anymore, so be it. I did it for the sake of writing and remember, I originally wasn't going to go past the first chapter (therefore avoiding it all) but you guys wanted a story...here it is. *rant over*

I really do hope you liked it, it's taken me so long because I've been trying to juggle college and free-time and it's been kinda crazy.

Anyway, hope you liked it. If you did, please let me know!
