Chapter 50

Seventeen days later, it was Christmas Eve. Allison smiled contently. She sat stretched out on the bed at her parents' house watching TV. The bedroom door opened and Colby walked into the room. Allison smiled at him.

"Did you have a good shower?" She asked.

"Would have been better with you in it," Colby replied with a smirk and wink.

Allison chuckled as Colby closed the door. He walked over to the bed. He threw his stuff in his bag. He threw his bag on the floor with a plop. He then climbed onto the bed. He moved over toward his wife. He kissed her lightly on the lips. He then leaned down and kissed her pregnant belly.

Allison smiled. She was twenty weeks pregnant (five months). She was showing and she loved it.

"Is our girl sleeping?" Colby asked.

Allison nodded her head. "Yes, she is. Mommy is ready to go to sleep too. She was just waiting for Daddy to join her, because she prefers to go to sleep first thing with him next to her."

Colby smiled. "Well, Daddy's here now so Mommy can go to sleep."

"Good."

Colby got up from the bed. Allison adjusted her pillows so she could lay down flat. Colby turned the light off. He then climbed into bed next to Allison. She snuggled up against him. He wrapped his arms around her.

"Good night, baby doll," He said kissing her cheek.

"Night," Allison replied. "Love you."

"Love you too."

Colby kissed her cheek one more time.

The next day, Christmas Day, Allison and Colby with her parents, her siblings and their significant others went to Grandma Jana's to celebrate with Denise's side of the family. The evening before on Christmas Eve, they all had gathered at Grandpa Robby's and Grandma Sarah's to celebrate Christmas with Ethan's side of the family. That had also included Samantha, Jonathan, her parents, her siblings, and their significant others. Now Samantha, Jonathan, her parents, her siblings, and their significant others were going to celebrate Christmas with Jeremiah's side of the family.

Samantha was very happy to spend Christmas Eve with her mom's side of the family. But she was very happy to spend Christmas Day with her dad's side of the family. She had not seen most of her family since Thanksgiving. She had told everyone that she was pregnant soon after she told Jonathan. Everyone had been super excited for them, especially Allison and Colby.

Allison was so happy when she arrived at her grandmother's. She was so happy to see Jana, Corey, Courtney, Andy, Monica, their sons, Austin and Aaron, Lauren, Henry, and their children, Patrick, Vanessa and Megan. Her other two uncles, Nick and Alan were spending Christmas elsewhere with their girlfriend and wife.

The first thing that they did at Jana's was eat their Christmas meal. Their Christmas meal contained platter sandwiches with chips, Spanish dip with pumpernickel bread, regular dip with carrots and celery sticks, some fruit, and dressing (stuffing). It was a little quieter at Jana's that year for a holiday because Denise's cousins, Liz, Stacie, Anna, and their families were not there. The three were spending Christmas with Liz, Stacie, and Anna's father. That was where Justin and Amber were with their ten month old son. However, they all planned on stopping by a little later or getting together with everyone somewhere a little later.

After everyone was finished eating and putting food away, they all opened presents. They were all letting their food digest a little before they had some dessert. Andy's sons and Lauren's kids of course very excited to open presents. They received toys and games.

"And just think a few years from now your little one will be added to this chaos," Andy said to Allison and Colby.

Allison and Colby were in the living room with the kids, Andy, Monica, Lauren, and Henry. Allison's siblings and their significant others were in another room of the house. Jana, Denise, and Courtney were in the kitchen getting the desserts ready. Ethan and Corey were out on the patio talking.

"Yes, it'll be great," Allison said. "She'll have a lot of fun!"

"She'll?!" Lauren questioned. "Is the baby a girl?!"

"Dessert's ready," Courtney shouted.

Allison smiled. She got up from her spot. She took Colby's hand and pulled him with her.

Everyone headed from the different rooms of the house and into the dining room where the desserts were set up on the table.

"Allison Elizabeth Lopez!" Lauren said.

"Why are you full naming me?" Allison asked looking at her cousin.

"What's going on?" Denise asked.

"Aunt Dee, your daughter knows something about her baby and she isn't sharing!" Lauren said. "Make her share!"

Everyone looked at Allison. Allison smiled. She looked at her husband. "Should we tell them?" She asked.

"Sure, why not," Colby said.

Allison's smile widened. She looked at everyone else again. "We found out the sex of the baby," She said.

"What is it?!" Jana asked. "I must know what my new great grandbaby is going to be."

"It's a girl!" Allison said

Denise smiled. She went over to her daughter and hugged her. "Congratulations, sweetheart."

"Thanks, Mom."

Everyone finally grabbed their desserts and then settled to eat them.

A few hours later, Samantha and Jonathan with her parents, along with Justin and Amber with their son arrived at Jana's. Denise made Allison tell all of them the news about her baby as soon as they arrived.

"It's so exciting that you're having a baby girl," Amber said. She sat out on the patio with Justin, Allison, Colby, Samantha, Jonathan, Lauren, Henry, Andy, and Monica. She had her son, Travis Anthony Humphrey sitting on her lap.

"I know I'm super excited," Allison said as she sat on Colby's lap. There had not been enough chairs for everyone so she and Samantha happily sat down in their husbands' laps.

"Have you started the name game?" Monica asked.

"Well, there is one name we were thinking about," Colby said. "But Allison wants to consider other names before we decide."

"What name did you have in mind?" Jonathan asked.

"Danielle Melissa Lopez," Allison said.

"How'd you come up with that?"

"Danielle is my mom's middle name and I love the name Melissa."

"The night I proposed to Alli," Colby said. "She told me there is a name she would like to name her son or would consider for her son. She said it was Anthony Joseph Mitchell and then I asked what names she would consider for her daughter."

"Yes, that was a lot of fun," Allison said. "Now we're actually having a baby and we get to pick names."

"Mommy, Daddy," A sweet little voice said.

Everyone turned and looked to the doorway leading into the house. Vanessa stood there. She had been in the house playing with her new toys. Patrick, Austin and Aaron were in the backyard with Corey, Ethan and Jeremiah playing with their new outside toys. Everyone else was in the house.

"What's up, my little angel?" Henry asked.

"Nothing. I was just wondering what you were doing," Vanessa said.

"Well, we're just sitting out here, talking," Lauren said. "Do you want to sit with us?"

"Yeah."

"Okay, come here," Henry said.

Vanessa walked over to her dad. He grabbed hold of her and placed her on his lap.

"I thought you were playing with Megan, Nessa?" Monica said.

"I was, but I got bored, Auntie," Vanessa said. "I think Grandma Courtney has her."

"Mommy's going to make sure," Lauren said. She got up from her seat and then headed into the house to check on her youngest.

"Did you have a good Christmas, Nessa?" Allison asked.

"Yes," Vanessa said. "Thank you for my new toys."

"You're very welcome."

Lauren walked back out onto the patio then. She had fifteen month old Megan in her arms. She took her original spot.

"Megan," Allison said.

Megan looked toward Allison at the sound of her name. Allison waved at her. Megan smiled. "Who's that?" Lauren asked. "Who's that, that has your attention?"

"Al-Al," Megan said.

"Yes, it's Al-Al," Allison said.

"Do you want to go see Al-Al?" Lauren asked. "Do you want to see Al-Al?"

"Al-Al," Megan said, reaching toward Allison.

Allison smiled. She got up from her spot on Colby's lap. She then went over to her cousin. She picked Megan up and held her on her hip. "Oh, you are such a big girl. You are going to be as big as your big sister one day." She gave her a kiss on the cheek. She then gave Megan back to Lauren and sat back on Colby's lap.

"I want to go swing on the swings," Vanessa said. "Will you push me, Daddy?"

"Sure," Henry said. He placed Vanessa down on her feet. He then stood up. They walked over to the screen door. He opened it and then the two stepped out into the yard.

"That'll be you with your daughter someday soon, Colby," Amber said.

"Looking forward to that," Colby said.

Allison smiled.
