Chapter 52
Jason was sitting at the breakfast table, reaching for his apple juice when he noticed his cup missing. Turning around he found Piper walking towards him, a cup in her hand.
"Here you go sweat heart. I made you your juice this morning. I hope you don't mind." She smiled at him, handing him the cup which he gratefully took and drank down. Finishing the cup in one drink as he was finished with his breakfast and needing to go.
"It's perfect love. Thanks. I'll see you. I'm supposed to spend the day with Theseus learning about the flag ship today. So I'll see you later. Love you! Bye!" He finished with a shout. Running from the massive cafeteria of the capital ship to head upstairs.
"Well girls. Mine's done. All up to you now." Piper whispered to herself, turning to clean up hers and Jason's breakfast mess. Looking at the empty cup with both worry, and a deep gratefulness that he'd just drunk it without question.
/-/-/
Nico was sitting in the one of the crow's nest atop the masts on the Flag ship. He had a great view of everything about him. He loved it. It was late at night, almost midnight, he guessed. The sky was black and calm, the stars shining down brightly from above.
Reaching into one of the small pouches on his belt, he pulled out the small bag of dried apple strips that Reyna had gotten for him the other day. Apparently she'd found one of the shops in the ship selling them and thought he'd like them.
He had indeed liked them. They were the best dried apples he'd ever eaten. He was down to the last few pieces, and up here. On this beautiful night at sea, he figured would be a fine time to finish such a tasty treat.
/-/-/
Percy was excited. Tonight was to be a date night with Annabeth. They'd been on the flag ship for almost a week and a half now. And Annabeth had mentioned she'd made a very special treat for tonight. And the words pie were always welcome to Percy.
He walked into her room, to find a table with a small roast on it, along with carrots and potatoes, a bowl of flat bread, and what looked like a small apple pie.
"Hello love." Her voice instantly captivated him, as he turned to face her. She walked over, giving him a kiss on the mouth as they hugged. "Glad you could make it."
"For you, I'd go anywhere. Even the Depths of Tartarus himself." He smirked.
"Good, now it's time to eat. So let's get to it. I want to go dancing over the water tonight, and some mermaids in a nearby underwater cave have agreed to play music for their, and I'll use their words, "Handsome prince and his beautiful princess." It was quiet endearing really." Annabeth laughed, as Percy pulled a chair out for her, pushing it in as she sat so that it was comfortable.
"Shall we start with the pie?"
/-/-/
"Did they do it?"
"Yes. They did indeed. Behind our backs, all six of them."
"Funny they do not realize know. All the better for our own plans. This works perfectly."
"Indeed it does bode well for the three of us. But not a word to anyone of this. If anyone finds out, and word gets out, it will ruin everything."
"Agreed. So long. Let us prepare for the final battle."
"Indeed."
/-/-/
They met in the same room. Two weeks after they had that first night.
"So, they've now all three eaten their apple right?"
"Yeah Piper. You got Jason the juice the day after, and Reyna got Nico the dried apple pieces a few days after that and he finished them off two nights before Percy and I had our date. Where I got him to eat the small pie I baked for him. He luckily didn't question that I never had a bite, or that he ate all of it. Now all we need to do, is ensure they never bleed out until the right time."
"That shouldn't be too hard, there isn't a person who could wound them that much without us being able to get to them and heal them some until… well that day." Reyna darkly spoke, her eyes boring holes into the table as she leaned back in her chair, twiddling a dagger in her hand as she did so.
"Yeah. We just have to be careful. Theseus says that Luke's ship has been seen nearby, along with the Titan's Flag ship. We could be looking at an all-out battle soon. So we must be prepared. We must."
/-/-/
Percy was up early that morning. He was to be working with the two hundred men and women aboard the ship that were blessed by Poseidon. They had some work to do in their control of their gift. So he was going to help them.
He arrived top deck and saw a large group gathered near the middle of the ship. Walking that direction he was stopped by Theseus on his way.
"Percy, just a heads up. These people will be very… shall we say, skeptical when they see you're so young. Most of them are seasoned sailors and warriors, and all of them are in their thirty's at least. So having someone as young as you trying to teach them… Well they won't take it well. Just a heads up.
"You got it cap'n. I'll get them on my side soon enough." With a smirk Percy was gone, heading off towards, what he saw, as the fun.
"Hello everyone. My names Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, and here to help you all improve your control."
The dark looks were almost immediate, only a few were actually looking like they'd listen.
Chuckling to himself, Percy opened his arms wide. "How about a challenge to start us off. You all try and make a wave. And if you can get me wet, even a little, or move the boat some, I'll convince my mother to bless you." Percy's eyes looked into theirs, one at a time, the challenge and mocking tone evident as several growled their anger, gesturing to the ocean as a wave the size of the side of the boat began rising from the water and making its way towards the ship.
With a sneeze from Percy, the wave sank into the ocean, not even making it halfway to the ship.
Now the glove was dropped, almost half those gathered now worked together, gesturing towards the ocean, as a wave almost twice the size of the side of the ship made its way towards them.
With a simple wave of his hand Percy sank the wave into the water with ease. The boat still dry, and still in its same position. "Come on now. It's going to take all of you if you even want a chance at getting this boat wet." He smirked again, knowing it was infuriating them as the whole group turned towards the ocean, drawing on the strength of his father's blessing, and trident's on arms, necks, backs, everywhere, glowing as they pulled all the strength from it they could.
A massive wave, taller than their middle mast rose from the ocean, blocking out the sun as everyone on the ship stopped to stare at the massive wave, many beginning to brace for impact as Theseus' laughter rang out over the deck.
Smiling as the wave made its way towards them, Percy slowly took off his shirt, showing how he was a child of both Amphitrite and Poseidon, as well as blessed by them, and many other gods. The group of two hundred was torn between staring at the massive wave they'd created, or the boy in front of them, who was veritably the most powerful mortal they'd ever, and would ever, encounter in their lives.
With a fluid motion, mimicking that of his Father's domain, He cast out both arms, both of his fathers and mothers marks and blessing flaring to light as he drew from them and his innate power. The wave began slowing, smiles growing on the two hundred gathered as they thought he couldn't stop it. With one final smirk, Percy shouted his triumph as his tattoo's glowed with even more power, the wave coming to a dead stop, just meters from the ship. Then with a slow release of breath, Percy began pushing the wave backwards, then let it begin sinking into the ocean till there was nothing left of it, but the calm ocean around them.
"Now. Are you ready to listen?" Percy questioned, turning to face the group of amazed, angered, or impressed sailors before him. With a nod of assent from several of them. He began.
/-/-/
It was time. They'd sited the Titan's flag ship, with almost every other ship in their armada on their way towards the Greeks. One week out, they were on a course straight at the Greek Flagship, Luke and his crew leading the charge.
Apparently they decided they'd waited long enough, it was time to end the Greek. Or at least maim them beyond return. This was the battle that would decide all Rachel had announced after one of her visions. But that's all she'd been able to see, other than death was on the horizon.
So here they were, the full Greek Armada, every ship under Greek influence, missing only ten ships that were stationed around the Greeks land in case of a surprise attack. Inside the captains meeting room aboard the Dynami, Theseus at the head of the table, with Percy, Jason, Nico, Reyna, Piper, and Annabeth on his right and left, followed by the head of Athena's blessed aboard the ship, and the captain of every other vessel there for the battle. It was time for a strategy to defeat the Titan menace.
"Alright. Quiet everyone! I think a plan has been discussed and approved by Annabeth and those aboard this ship that are blessed by Athena. Annabeth, if you would."
"Thank you Captain Theseus. Our plan will be fairly simple. Their biggest powerhouse will be aboard Luke's ship. And most of our powerhouses are aboard the Argo II. So we will be the ones to take on that ship. Everyone is to leave them to us. It's both personal, and part of the plan. Their other big hitters will be aboard their flag ship as usual. We are fairly certain that our own captain is stronger than there, and the gods know he's smarter." Annabeth joked, causing Theseus to blush as the table erupted in shouts of affirmation. "So the goal is this, try to spread out and take down their ships as quickly and speedily as you can, we have around ten more ships than them. Thanks to the Argo II's killing spree in their search for Luke right before we took a few months leave. And they weren't able to replace all the ships they lost, which gives us an advantage. We'd like to have three ships that stay with the Dynami to protect it and help fight their flag ship. The other seven extras are to form up into pairs, with one group of three, and start on either side of the Dynami to begin helping our ships to end their targets quickly. Once all other small ships are eliminated you are to turn your fire on the Titan's Flag ship. Once it is effectively crippled, we shall board and kill everyone aboard. Don't spare anyone unless they are obviously a slave, or captive of some sort. Otherwise. Wipe them out. We're now sure how long our battle will last with Luke, nor how long it will take. But if we finish fast enough we will go and help with Flag ship as well. Lastly is this. The Titans and Gods have agreed to stay out of this battle, and leave it all up to us. Both will be nearby and watching, and should either side break this promise, the rest of the others will be there, making the battle that much harder and difficult. So hopefully each side keeps its promise."
"I've also been given word that both sides will be preventing teleportation out. So we don't need to worry about gold and silver members disappearing. If they are here, they can die. The gods will keep them from escaping."
"Thank you captain, that's new information for me. Thank you. That will be all. From here on you need anything fixed or made have the blacksmiths aboard the Flag ship take care of it for you. Make sure everyone on your ships gear is ready and up to par. This is the final battle folks. We do this right and this battle ends. For all of us."
"You heard the lady. Prepare for war everyone. I personally shall be taking control of the Dynami until we prepare to board the flag ship. May the tides flow our way, and with these two right here," He gestured towards a blushing Percy and Annabeth, "I know they will be. Thank you all. Dismissed."
/-/-/
She'd decided tonight was the night. They'd fought it for so long. On the ship, while they were on Olympus, and then once again on the Flag ship. She'd not given her full self to him yet. But now was the time. What could be the final battle was fast approaching. And if it is, then this was perhaps, her last chance to see him and be with him. Death for one or the other could be fast approaching. And she wanted to give all of herself to him, and have all of him for her.
She'd bathed early that day, cleansing her body of all dirt and grime, finishing off cleaning every inch of her beautiful, long, blonde hair. Deciding to let it dry and curl naturally into its princess curls. As she exited the bath she found a new set of undergarments waiting for her, along with a new necklace. The undergarments were pure white lace, with sea green designs patterned into them. The necklace being a special gem, only found on the ocean bottom in caves mined by the cyclops. It was beautifully set on a thin silver chain, surrounded by tiny white and blue diamonds, looking like frothy waves coming of the gem. Which was itself a see through light green, swirled with blue, while at the center was what looked like a trapped wave of water, eternally washing up on the sides of the gem, and reforming. It was beautiful. With a look heavenward she thanked Amphitrite for her blessing and the gifts.
Reverently she put them on, she then went to her closet and pulled out the dress from their dance when the Argo II was finished and put it on. Noticing that it still fit perfectly. There was a note on the hanger from Amphitrite and Aphrodite.
We fixed the size for you, including a little more length and bust size since you've grown.
Knock him dead sweet heart.
AM. AP.
P.S. I've prepared the cave for you. No worries darling. AM.
Once again giving thanks she then began doing her hair, braiding a side braid that ended with her hair cascading down the other side of her head and at the back. Adding a light amount of make-up, and a spritz of perfume. She was ready. She'd told him to meet her in the underwater cave beneath them.
She was once again thankful that with Hydros, and Amphitrite's blessing she couldn't get wet in water unless she wanted to.
With a deep breath, she opened the window on the side of the ship, and dropped into the ocean with a smile.
/-/-/
He was rather confused, Annabeth had left him a note saying to meet her tonight on the ocean floor beneath the ship, and near an underwater cave they'd both found while scouting ahead the other day.
He arrived in his room aboard the Argo and stepped into the shower, preparing to clean off all the grime from the days training with Jason and Nico.
When he stepped out, he found his suit from the Dance for the Argo waiting for him, cleaned and pressed, along with a new silver-grey tie and handkerchief that almost perfectly matched Annabeth's eyes.
Finding a note from his mother that told him to wear this, and just trust her. He put it on, hopeful that it meant a dance was in store tonight.
Changing into the suit after towel drying, he left his hair to its natural look. Spraying on the cologne he knew Annabeth loved. And with a smile, dove out the window and into the ocean below him.
/-/-/
He arrived near the cave to find her waiting for him. Beautiful as she was every day. The sort of beautiful that stole his breath. He briefly wondered if this was what it felt like to be unable to breath underwater.
Then his mind was once again on her, and how lucky he was she was with him. "Hello my love."
"Sshh. Just dance."
The music came floating from all around them, the ocean seeming to be alive with it as they began. Percy's favorite song playing. It was their dance. The dance only him, his mother, and Annabeth knew.
They flowed like the water that was their domain. The moved with a grace that would seem unearthly to another mortal. It was beautiful to watch as they moved. All around the ocean floor, at times Percy solidifying the water so they danced up and into middle of the deep ocean. Their only light coming from the moon above as it shown through the ocean water.
Her smile was breathtaking as the danced. Her eyes never leaving his, as if this was their last dance. It confused him for a moment, but put it aside. He knew this was but one of the many dances they would have. He had no plans for dying, and he would never let her be harmed, let alone die.
So pushing aside those thoughts he leaned forward, captured her lips in a searing kiss. Before pulling away as they began the hard steps of their dance. The part that was special.
For them time stopped as they danced. Moving about with their unearthly grace, eyes solely on the other's as they danced, smiles permanent upon their face as they danced.
Soon the dance ended, as the music kept playing. The music fading to a soft and soothing melody. Just enough for them to keep time and sway too.
She lay her head on his shoulder for a moment, just keeping close to him as they danced.
Slowly she pulled away, holding onto one hand she led him away. Straight towards the cave they'd found.
When the entered he was momentarily distracted by the room. There was a bed in one corner of the room, with special candles from Atlantis lighting the cave. As they entered, the entrance to the cave was covered by sea green drapes that covered the entire entrance so none would enter.
Turning around confused, he found himself looking at Annabeth as she stood with her back to him, letting her dress slide from her body. Revealing her tanned and toned body to him, dressed only in beautiful white lace underwear, with his favorite color of sea green trimming on it.
"Annabeth Yo—"
"I want to. Now sh. No more words. Tell me with your body Percy. With your eyes. Come. I wish to give all of myself to you. Will you give me all of you?"
He was silenced by her finger on his mouth, her eyes searching his as they seared his with the flames of love and desire in her eyes.
Without another thought he leaned forward. Capturing her lips with his own as she began pulling off his tie and unbuttoning his shirt. Pushing both them and his jacket to the ocean floor, pulling him towards the bed in the corner.
Tonight they would come together. Tonight they became one.
/-/-/
The cannon fire began at four am that morning. Both sides firing volleys of flaming hot shrapnel at the other. Each trying to do as much damage as possible.
The Titan's side took the brunt of it. As Theseus, Percy, Annabeth, and any other blessed by Poseidon or Amphitrite brought up walls of water to intercept the enemies cannon fire.
Their superior number of water users meant they could block more than the Titans side could.
Many ships were damaged, but none sunk as the fighting began. The far right side of the Greeks meeting their enemies first.
The Argo II met the Luke's Black ship in the middle, circling the other as they exchanged cannon fire. Once again the Greeks got the better exchange, as Annabeth focused on blocking the Cannon balls, and Percy just focused on negating those aboard Luke's Ship that tried to do the same.
/-/-/
The Flag ship's attack on each other was devastating. Wood, Bodies, and flames were sent flying in all directions on both ships as they onslaught to cripple the other occurred.
The Titan's began landing more blows without Percy and Annabeth there to help. Both ships feeling the pain, as one of the Dynami's front masts took a hit that almost knocked it off.
But that worry was ended as Theseus suddenly spun the ship right as they fired port side cannon's, landing two hits upon the middle mast of their enemies ship. Effectively cutting their movement speed in half by its loss.
They continued circling and firing upon the other. Both sides giving and getting good. Until the tides turned.
Suddenly Greek ships from either side began turning their fire upon the Titan's Flag ship as they sank and killed those floating from the Titan's armada. Their superior numbers giving them the advantage they needed to get in the lead.
Soon they were boarding the Titan Flag ship, and the true battle began.
/-/-/
The decision was a silent and joint one, as both ships, Percy piloting the Argo, and Luke Piloting his own, turned towards the other. Preparing to board and finish the battle.
They met in the middle, both ships crashing into the other, the Argo's celestial bronze enforced hull winning the battle as the other ship cracked and broke upon impact. Letting water in to the large hole it had.
With a cry of joy and victory the crew of the Argo began leaping aboard the other ship, Percy, Jason, and Nico leading the charge.
He slew any in front of him as he made for the ship's steering wheel where Luke and the other's awaited him. Nico and Jason on his left and right, doing the same. One thought on all their minds.
"I'll end this. For her!"
The enemy soon fell to the left or right as they charged, fearing their blade and the trail of death they'd left behind them. The trail of dust and bleeding bodies.
"So. Come to die have we Jackson!"
His voice drew their attention, looking up to the higher deck where Luke waited in full battle armor, sword drawn, Ethan and Octavian on either side of him, sadistic grins worn all around as the ship went silent. The only sound being that of the distant battles occurring around them.
"Come to deal death perhaps. Especially yours coward. Come face your fear. My blade aches for you blood, sings with joy at the prospect of tasting it. Come. Meet Anaklusmos!"
With a growl he leapt, sword leading to impale the impudent sea spawn below him. Ethan and Octavian joining the dive.
Battle erupted once again around the deck as the six leaders blades met. Their battles starting immediately.
/-/-/
Annabeth had just impaled a hell hound on her blade when she felt a breath of wind at her back, spinning quickly and barely blocking the dagger that was meant for her back. Coming face to face with Nosiri, noticing out of the corner of her eye that two other Gold cloaked members of the Titan's watch were facing off with Reyna and Piper.
"Come to die Whore!?" Nosiri laughed, drawing his other blade as they began exchanging blows.
She was calm as she faced him, calm as the sea before a storm. She battled with the strength of a hurricane. Her blows suprising the man before her, who thought that surely the one blessing hadn't made her this much stronger than him.
But he, being unloved as he was, did not know the strength that love would lend someone, whose other half was battling for her. She refused to let him do all the work. Today her sword would gorge itself on those who would take her love from her. Today blood would be spilt, enough to dye the waters red with blood for a week.
She increased her attack, adding in attacks from behind with water as Nosiri began using his own gift. Time slowing down for her.
But every attack he attempted as he froze time for a brief moment was met by a wall of water. It was as if she knew what he was planning, and planed ahead on her own. Foiling him before he could begin, wasting his gift's time limit little by little.
He saw red, as his anger boiled over at this insignificant child getting in his way. Some insolent girl!
"DIE!" His scream was horrible, spittle flying from his lips as he increased his attack, losing any semblance of a defense as he attacked.
With a smile Annabeth knew she'd won. With a simple counter, followed up by a kick and another stab. She impaled her enemy upon her blade, smiling as all life left his eyes.
"Give my regards to Hades you son of a bitch!"
His final words would stay in her mind forever. He chuckled darkly as his blood spilled upon the deck. "At least I see the fall of your precious lover."
Turning in fear, she watched as Percy impaled Luke through the chest, just as Nico practically split Octavian from shoulder to hip. Jason spilling Ethan's insides over the deck from sternum to naval. Only for Nico to suddenly fall, clutching the dagger buried in his stomach. Ethan to return the favor before he fell dead, slicing open Jason's neck as he left himself exposed, thinking he'd one.
Her eyes went back to Percy as he began to pull his sword out from Luke. Only to have look grab hold of his hands and pull himself up the blade, impaling himself further on Percy's sword, only to stab his own into Percy. Percy's eyes widening in surprise as his focus had been upon his brother's and their falling to the deck, bleeding out.
Some would say the scream of the three girls was heard by every soul in that battle.
/-/-/
Percy was focused, he was there. His sword was but an extension of his arm, this battle but another thing he must complete to be with Annabeth forever. His sword flashed in front of him, it's speed a marvel to behold. But he didn't see it. He was in the zone. He was death itself, he was the warrior of legend. He was his sword and his sword was him.
Up, down, stab, stab, Parry, knock his blade left. Strike. Blood was drawn! Back up, leap forward again. Back and forth, blade meeting blade. Draw him out. There! Strike! Blood again. Dodge back, careful. Wound opened. His own blood has been spilt. Focus, there is no pain, only this battle.
Slide left. Strike high, now low. Stab forward. He's over extended! Slice arm, teach him the price of not paying attention.
As he fought a hurricane erupted around him, keeping other enemies and ally's at bay. His focus solely upon the man in front of him, who was doing his best to use his powers to keep the water from his eyes and mouth. Which he could barely accomplish as Percy's power over water dwarfed his own.
Back, forth, slide, strike high! Now chest. Back towards face. Down low, force him into the air.
As Luke jumped up to avoid Percy's low strike, he was struck in the chest by a fist of water, knocking him to the ground in a fit of rage.
"I WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD!"
His voice raged across the water as he leapt to his feet, charging Percy with the only intent of killing the bastard before him.
Left, left, Spin and Kick! Turn, back. Now!
Percy moved with fluid grace as his blade impaled itself through Luke's chest, stopping the man's movement dead in his tracks.
But he became distracted by Nico's agonized cry. Turning to see his brother pull a dagger from his stomach and fall to his knees. Barely hearing his exclamation of "poison." As he fell to the deck. Then Jason's cry of pain as he turned to the other side of him. Watching in horror as Jason held the large cut on his neck, his blood pouring out between his fingers. Slowly falling to his knees. Then falling over, his blood wetting the deck of the ship.
It was then he felt pain. Looking back to his enemy, he realized that he'd dragged himself up the length of Percy's sword, then impaled Percy upon his own sword.
"So we die. Together then." Luke coughed before the light left his eyes and he fell dead to the deck. Dragging Percy with him as Percy held tight to his sword.
"Annabeth. I'm so… Sorry."
/-/-/
As she ran to her love, Thunder boomed and the oceans raged as suddenly the gods were aboard the ship, each near their child. Poseidon and Amphitrite holding Percy's body and crying out in a rage.
Hades and Persephone quietly crying as a circle of flames erupted around them and Nico. The god of the Dead's anger blazing in his eyes as he held both his dead child and his weeping wife.
Zeus and Hera were kneeling over their fallen child. Their tears wetting his corpse as lighting stormed and Thunder boomed above them.
Everything aboard the ship ended as they watched what was occurring.
Only for their moment of mourning to be interrupted as Kronos and his titan's appeared around the ship in full battle regalia.
"You've broken the promise. Now you die!" Kronos' voice urged everyone in to action, as the rest of the Olympians' appeared out of thin air, the battle renewing itself as Annabeth could only run to Percy and hold his head. Wondering why the apple wasn't working. Why he hadn't lived!
/-/-/
Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus fought like monsters, slaying moral and immortal alike as they blazed a trail towards Kronos.
They met in battle, a battle decided quickly as the three brothers worked in a beautiful tandem not seen for millennia. Only briefly in their children.
They moved as one, blocking and striking for the other.
Kronos soon found himself impaled upon Poseidon's Trident, lifting him into the sky as Hades sword pierced cut his head from his body, falling with a sickening plop to the ground.
Right as the largest bolt of lightning Zeus could summon began coursing in to the corpse as Poseidon held it aloft, the body twitching and spasming till it was burned away. Leaving nothing but ash and head.
Picking up the head, Hades opened a hole straight to Tartarus, dropping it within and striding on to the next battle. His child would be avenged. No titan would live this day.
/-/-/
The battle raged on for another hour, the loss of life on either side immense. But it was the Greeks who were left standing at the end of the day.
But no one could think of joy as every eye was upon the Argo II at the center of all the wreckage. Where man and god alike had gathered round three body's in the arms of three weeping girls who held them close. Kissing their dead lips, hoping they'd awaken.
"Child. Child. You must stop. They are gone. Nothing is left." Zeus sadly spoke, putting a hand upon Piper. "It was foretold by the fates that they would pass on the final battle against the Titans. There was nothing you could d—"
But his words were silenced by a gasp from the crowd.
Glancing down at his sons body he watched as what had once been red blood leaking and beginning to dry from his sons throat, now poured golden blood. Ichor.
Then he coughed, his body slowly healing. Not at the speed of a true god, but that of being fed Ambrosia. Percy was next to follow suit, his wounds bleeding no red blood, but instead the golden Ichor of the gods. Nico being the last as golden ichor gushed from his wound for a moment before it sealed itself tight.
As one they gasped in air, eyes shooting open as they gazed up into the sky and the eyes of their lovers.
"What… What happened?" Percy questioned, worry in his eyes as he found his father and uncles, each with rage on their face.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!"
Zeus' words split the heavens as thunder boomed and lighting struck all around. He turned to face his wife, Poseidon and Hades doing the same, their eyes searching that of their guilty, yet pleased wives.
"What we had to my lord." Hera bowed, lowering her head as Amphitrite and Persephone followed suit.
"It wasn't them my lord…"
Her voice silenced everything as Annabeth stepped forward, Piper and Reyna doing the same on either side of her.
"It was us. We retrieved apples from Hera's garden while on Olympus after reading in the Great Library of Olympus what was to happen to them. We searched for a way to save them and found it. They are not gods, for they didn't eat the apple in its purest form. We simply made them, from my understanding, close to immortal. But not fully. They will not age, and have increased healing, but they can be killed if the wound were grievous enough."
"Annabeth. Why wou—"
"Because I cannot see you dead. Ever. Even should I gain death from this act, I could not see you dead. This world and I need you too much for you to die."
"Then you know the price of interfering and going against the gods decree. For we had declared that this must occur. Their deaths to keep the world and all of the gods from perishing. And you went around this, and though it seems you have not doomed us all. You went against the king of the gods and his brothers. No mortal may do that and live." Zeus' voice was like a dagger in the heart of everyone present.
"Dad! You can't mean that! Look nothing bad happened. Surely you ca—"
"SILENCE! I WILL NOT BE COWED. I WILL BE OBEYED!" His voice shook the boat and everyone aboard.
"Zeus. Husband. Let the child live. Has she not proven herself to us?" Hera questioned, hopeful her husband would listen to her.
"If you think I believe that they snuck into your garden and got an apple without you knowing and your permission. You are a bigger fool than I am for thinking you would let fate run its course as we must and risk all our lives and that of the world for our son. Be quiet."
"For your insolence there is but one punishment. Death."
"If you do this father. You will know longer know the sound of my voice. I swear it. She is my life. If you take her from me. If you…" Jason's voice caught in his throat as tears began falling from his eyes, his sword drawn, preparing for a fight. Even should it be against the god of gods.
"If you don't protect my lover, and that of my brother's dad. Do not expect to see my face again. I will fight to the death for her should you go against me!" Percy shouted, facing his father who gazed upon him with steely resolve.
"The same for me Father. I will fight for her. I will fight all who are dead or alive for her. Stop your mad brother now." Nico's voice joined his brothers, all of them swords drawn and stepping in front of their fearful, yet, accepting loves.
"I'm sorry my son. But Zeus did not decree you three must die without out won permission. They've gone against the big Three. And no one who does that may go unpunished. I am sorry."
"Then you've chosen this fight." Percy's voice was low and dark as he hefted his sword, looking back once towards Annabeth, before he leapt towards his father, sword prepared to strike.
It was a blinding flash of lighting that stopped everything on deck, as three individual blasts struck each of the girls. When it finally cleared and all could see, there wasn't even a body left where they'd stood.
"I'm sorry my son. But fate would have punished us, had we not punished them."
With these words, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades disappeared from sight. Leaving their sons to fall, defeated into the arms of their mother's, who cried with them. Pulling their heads tight to their chest as they wept.
