Author Note: Here's the epilogue so now the story is complete. In total, excluding author notes, the story comes out to be 107 pages. I am amazed with how long it is.
Epilogue
A young girl ran down a grassy hill, her long blonde hair billowing out behind her. She laughed as a boy a bit older than her chased after her. The boy managed to wrap his arms around the girl when they reached the bottom of the hill. The girl laughed in delight as the boy playfully ruffled her hair. She returned the favor by tugging playfully on a long strand of his red hair. The boy smiled fondly at the little girl as he laughed along with her.
"Sam! Mia! Time to come in!" Both stopped playing as a woman's voice cut through their laughter. The two untangled themselves and raced each other back up the hill with the boy slowing down just enough for the girl to get there first. A white and green house quickly came into view. A woman with red hair like the boy's was waiting for them outside the back door. The little girl ran up and hugged the woman around her knees then smiled up at her. The woman smiled down at the girl as she patted the girl's head. The three entered the house and began setting the table for dinner. They all stopped when someone knocked on the front door. The girl placed the plate she had been carrying down on the table before she ran to the door. She eagerly threw open the door to reveal the man behind it. Seeing who it was, the girl leapt into the man's arms. The man smiled as he picked the girl up. He entered the house while carrying the girl. He greeted the other two when he saw them waiting in the hallway. The man smiled at the boy as he ruffled the boy's hair. The boy pretended to be bothered that his hair was now messed up but the man knew that it was just the boy's pride making him act that way. The man smiled lovingly when his eyes landed on the woman. He walked up to her and kissed her softly on the lips. When they separated they gazed lovingly into each other's eyes. The two kids smiled at the display of affection; unlike other kids their age they weren't grossed out by the sight of their parents kissing. The man put the girl down so he could remove his coat. After hanging it up the man followed his family into the kitchen. They finished setting the table then sat down to eat. They all joked and talked as they ate, the image of the perfect family. After dinner the woman washed the dishes while the man put the kids to bed.
Edward and Sarah smiled as they checked on their sleeping children. They couldn't help but see the resemblance between them and themselves. Their daughter had Edward's golden hair and Sarah's dark eyes that most found unnerving but also captivating. They had decided to name her Mia after Sarah's best friend. Mia's brother Sam, in honor of Sarah's alter ego, had Sarah's rare hair color and Edward's striking gold eyes that burned with the same fire and determination. After they returned from their journey they had rebuilt Edward's childhood home in Resembool and there they lived happily. Edward still worked for the military but no longer as a state alchemist; he had asked Mustang who had become the Fuhrer after he had used Marcoh's Philosopher's stone to regain his eyesight, to let him have a different position. Sarah still had a bit of her monstrous strength and speed but, thankfully, never really needed to use it. She still couldn't believe that she now had a normal life. A normal life had always seemed out of her reach due to the fact that she wasn't normal by any means. Then again their life wasn't exactly normal, even so…she wouldn't trade it for anything.
As Sarah watched her daughter sleep her hand unconsciously drifted down to her stomach where she knew a large scar was from Father piercing her stomach. It was the only mark on her body and she looked at it with fondness as it reminded her that she was now human. The scar will always be there and for that she was grateful.
End
Author Note: I really like the part with the scar at the end; the scar symbolizes her humanity.
