Wayle simply stared at the utterly confused and exceptionally aggravated blonde before him.
"My, oh my. Yang, whatever is the matter?" He asked with a smug smirk as he sat there cross-legged.
"That-You-That was-HOW?!" Yang sputtered indignantly.
"You will have to be a little clearer Yang. How what?" He questioned, well aware of the truth.
"I-"She sighed deeply and rubbed her head. "You know what? Never mind."
"Ah, but I do mind. You see, how am I supposed to help you if you will not explain the problem?" He tilted his head in feigned confusion.
"It's just- You somehow perfectly mimicked HER fighting style… Minus the parasol." The busty blonde shook her head in resignation. "Not to mention several of her mannerisms."
She shuddered slightly.
"Actually, don't ever do that again. It's creepy." Yang added unhappily, turning her head away from him. "At least she's cute…"
The last was but a murmur, but even so Wayle managed to hear her. He couldn't help but chuckle inwardly.
If she only knew. If she only knew…
He schooled his features into something more serious. Playtime was over, he had had his fun.
"Yang." Said gal's attention snapped back towards him as he rose from his seat. "Do you know why you cannot win against her?"
A scowl crossed the brawler's normally smiling visage.
"It is because you rely too heavily on instinct, and let yourself get riled up too easily." He said as he walked towards her. "You quite frankly become too easy to read, to predict."
He spoke both from his own observations, and from the memories of a certain multi-coloured woman.
"What's that supposed-"Yang began, but was cut off as Wayle's fist suddenly connected with her sternum.
The unexpected blow sent her staggering.
"Hey! What's-!" The blonde began. But was cut short as she barely evaded another punch.
Her eyes lit up in understanding as she was forced to receive a kick towards her side.
She might be rough and one who enjoyed life, but she wasn't stupid. The spar wasn't over, and Wayle intended to teach her. The hard way.
She gave a ferocious grin and tried to repay the favour.
Tried.

Latune watched with satisfaction as the Paladin pilots she had trained managed to navigate the small obstacle course she had set up for them.
She had literally been appalled to find that the White Fang had no real training in the use of the machines, even as they were one of the only groups to have any in use. There should have been a limit to how stupid they could get.
Here she had some of the finest the White Fang once had, and none of them had more than a cursory knowledge of how to use one, even as some of them actually had experience using them.
She really had to resist the urge to smash her head against a hard surface as she was told.
Then she went to work, choosing those she deemed most suited, both amongst the former White Fang members and the others that had joined them since the Army of Union's conception.
There had been some grumbling over her actions, but she had silenced them by demonstrating how to really use an Atlesian Paladin.
And anyone else where simply chucked into a reservoir with a flick of her hand.
Oh the wonders of the Force. She really couldn't blame the Sith for being tyrants when they could so easily kill anyone without access to the Force themselves.
And she wasn't even actually channelling the power of the Dark Side. With that she could electrocute people, choke them from afar or any number of less than pleasant things.
She would like to claim that she had no real idea how to do any of those things, but the Dark Side was far too easy to use, and even without any training from her Master, she had still stumbled upon some of it.
Although Lightning was pretty much just directing your anger at something and then electricity sprung forth, and was, according to her Master, so easy that even some Jedi knew how to use it, while Grip wasn't exactly Rocket Science.
If you knew even the most basic of Telekinesis, chances were you could pull it off. It was like that urge you sometimes got to strangle someone, except this time you used some unseen power to do it from afar.
She knew full well that her Master could do so much worse than just those. The advanced form of Grip, Crush, was a technique she had seen him perform more than once, and she knew for certain that he could do some rather unbelievable things using the Force and Sorcery.
After all, why target the throat when you could target the windpipe. Or why bother to press something together when you could push it apart.
She had seen him use Blast once, on a Deathstalker, and she didn't even want to consider what that would do to a person. For what defence were there against an explosion centred inside of you?
Seeing the monstrous beings head just explode was one of the most disturbing things she had seen.
As far as she understood it was an explosion of pure Kinetic energy. No fire, no electricity, just pure force.
Truly, her Master was so far beyond her even now, and she would probably never truly catch up, as he was unwilling to teach her Sorcery at all. He said it was because it was dangerous, because to use it one needed to be strongly attuned to the Dark Side.
She had brought up how little he seemed attuned to the Dark Side, but he had simply smiled wryly and said:
"I could only wish that was the case."
It had made her wonder, and even now she was uncertain just how deeply attuned he was to the Dark Side. And just how strong his being actually was to withstand that dark temptation.
Even with her small brushes with that power she could feel its Siren call. Whenever she became frustrated or annoyed it whispered to her. Tempting her to use it, to hurt the object of her aggravation.
Yeah, no. She-
A disturbance in the Force caught her attention.
Ouka, her fellow Apprentice, had intentionally caused it.
She knew, because it had been done in the specific pattern they had agreed upon.
That was, after they had come to terms with the other's existence.
Well, more like after Latune herself had come to terms with Ouka being an Apprentice under Wayle.
It was something akin to a warning. It meant that Ouka though something might be coming.
And Ouka was far more likely to see events yet to come, although as their Master had told them, visions like that were very unreliable, and sometimes just showed what might happen.
And often when it did so, trying to act to prevent those events were exactly what set them off in the first place.
Basically, he didn't put much stock in Prophecies. Especially since sometimes they actually showed events past…
He did on the other hand also tell them not to ignore them either. They might still be useful even if they didn't actually show any events that were about to happen.
Latune tensed up slightly, widening her senses as best she could.
She debated whatever to get the Paladins back in their hangar, or to keep them out so that they were ready to greet any attackers, be they Grimm or otherwise.
In the end she decided to keep them about. If anyone was going to attack them chances were they would already have seen them.
She felt them, it was faint, but the hostility was clear, even if the exact target was unknown, no one in the town harboured such hostility.
If she were to guess, it was the White Fang, and these guys weren't here to join them.
She made a gesture, seemingly without reason.
Yet in reality, she had just given a signal to one of their scouts to check their perimeter.
Soon after her communicator beeped three times, and she could see several of the Paladins stall up as they received the same signal.
She gestured subtly for them to continue as normal, and, while some were hesitant, they all did so, much to her satisfaction.
The change in atmosphere was noticeable, at least to her. Suddenly people were moving into positions around their base, closer to entrances or important structures.
Sure, if their 'friends' catches on then they'll probably leave, but a fight avoided is a fight won.
And their scouts had already identified them. If they left, the Army of Union could pay a visit and demonstrate why they were called the Army of Union.
As it turned out. The hostiles either didn't notice, or didn't care, as they approached carefully.
Latune smirked.
It would seem she had guests to welcome.
She made a gesture for the pilots in training to continue what they were doing and walked away.
She intended to greet the largest group personally.

A group of White Fang members approached the headquarters of the so called Army of Union.
Their leaders had told them that this group was responsible for many of their most recent setbacks, and that it consisted of both Humans and Faunus, including suspicions that some of them were White Fang traitors.
Any Faunus willing to cooperate with Humans were traitors in these men and women's eyes.
And their disgust only doubled if they were once fellow White Fang.
There had yet to be any indication that their prey had noticed their approach, and as such they grinned ferociously as they neared the perimeter.
It would be a slaughter.
They quickly yet silently scaled the walls, ready to slay any sentries.
Yet were there previously had been at least a few, there were suddenly none.
Caught up in their momentum they entered the compound behind before they actually put any thought into their situation.
It was only as they gathered behind the wall that they realised the fact that no one had encountered anyone…
Yet they couldn't stop now, even if it was a trap, it was already sprung.
And so they advanced cautiously…
And finally, as they entered a wide open space, they saw someone.
A small girl, with light purple hair.
They stopped in wonder, some staring at the lone girl before them, others looking around wildly trying to figure out if there wasn't someone else hiding around.
And yet it seemed it was only this lone girl standing against all of them.
She smiled sweetly. "Hello members of the White Fang. Can I help you with something?" She said with a friendly tone and a sweet voice.
They grinned as they started approaching. Did she not understand the implications?
This might be easier than they thought.
But when they had covered half the distance, the sweet smile was replaced with a dark smirk.
And suddenly the girl was amongst them, a dark purple blade of pure energy suddenly flaring to life from a cylinder she now held in her hand.
Four of them fell instantly, their meagre Aura reserves and armour having been cut through with contemptuous ease.
The group started reacting, readying their weapons and trying to strike her down in retaliation.
And yet she simply weaved through their attacks, performing seemingly impossible dodges.
And when too many of them tried at once, they instead found their weapons piercing their comrades, a problem with too many people trying to attack one person, and the reason no one with proper training tried to.
They tried to shoot her, yet the blade in her hand somehow formed an impenetrable barrier, protecting her more assuredly than any shield, from attacks from all directions.
Faced with this impossible sight, some of them tried to flee. Only to find themselves face to face with Atlesian Paladins.
Some tried to break through, yet their efforts were met with explosive death by plasma.
Faced with mechanized armour at the back, and an impossibly skilled girl at the front, the intruders struggled desperately…
Their only solace being that they were at least distracting the strongest fighting force…
Author's notes: Right, poor sods. Didn't know what they were getting into. So, how was the chapter? Feedback is still the most important thing for us authors. It really helps us find motivation to continue writing. I'm also kind of debating making some kind of side story, a what if type thing, but I don't know what about yet. So if you want to give suggestions that would be nice. Although don't give only suggestions in a review, if that's all you want to do then PMs work better.
You know, it would be really damn neat if this story could have a TV Tropes page. Just saying. Oh, and if there are any artistically talented individuals reading this, do you think you could try your hand at creating an image based on this story, that would also be really nice, and I would be quite grateful.
I hope you enjoyed and that you have a nice day.
