Sakamaki Sister

It's not that different from other days in the Sakamaki abode, it's like the usual: soft, cool breezes with the chirping of few birds, and sometimes, the cheerful sound of the triplets happily catching bats. Like today, the three sons of Cordelia are running around and chasing bats.

"Oh! There it goes!" Ayato yells out as he points to a small bat.

His two younger brothers chase after it while the redhead himself targets another one. Looking behind him, he sees one peacefully hanging upside-down on a low tree branch. With a grin, he motions closer to it quietly.

"You're mine!" he says quietly as he lunges at it.

Sadly for him, the bat reacts first and flies away, leaving a frustrated Ayato. His green eyes follow where it's going, and his gaze ends up meeting red ones that belongs to Aria.

"Did Ayato scare you?" she says kindly to the bat while petting its head.

"I was just gonna catch it, that's not scary at all!" his voice sound a bit irritated.

The little bat flies away as Raito's and Kanato's voices are heard, sounding a tiny bit tired from their own chase.

"I didn't know you like doing this; I thought that you prefer staying indoors" Raito looks at his sister with a smile.

"Mama told me to go outside today, actually. She told me that I need some fresh air since I've been spending too much time reading" she looks at the window of her room; where her mother is currently at.

"There's another one!" Kanato exclaims as he runs off to chase another bat.

"You wanna join us?" Raito asks his sister before going after the middle triplet.

"Ah, no, thank you. I don't think I can keep up".

"Well… okay then, but you can go ahead and join in whenever!" he exclaims before running off.

Right at that moment, Cordelia steps out into the garden with a cold yet annoyed face. Her expression grows more unpleasant as she walks closer to the oldest triplet.

"Ayato" she calls him sternly. "Who told you to play? You're supposed to be studying!" she scolds him harshly.

"But I've been studying all day! And yesterday, and the day before that! I study every day, I need a break! Why do they get to play while I only study?" Ayato's voice grows louder with each sentence.

"How dare you talk back?" Cordelia snaps and slaps her son's cheek. "Why can't you be more like your sister? She studies all day long and never complains; she likes it! And she doesn't talk back to her mother like a worthless child!".

Teary-eyed, Ayato runs to his room. Unknown to him, Aria follows right behind; obviously worried. Upon reaching his room, he throws himself onto his bed while holding in his voice to not shout any more than he did. A soft knock on the door makes him look up.

"What do you want? Mother likes you more than me… How can you like studying all day long…?" he asks her.

Walking closer to him, she closes the door and smiles. "Not really, I read storybooks, so it's not exactly studying. But if you want, I'll stay here so you won't get lonely".

She sits herself next to him and kisses his red cheek, "but promise me that you won't look down upon yourself, alright?".

The room stays quiet aside from the ticking of the clock and Ayato's soft breathing. Mother Cordelia was… No word can describe about how she feels towards that woman. Slowly, she places the music box back into its place and sighs sadly. She's then taken by surprise as a pair of hands holds hers' tightly, also by Ayato's looming figure.

"What's with that face? Though, Yours' Truly doesn't mind it" he asks her quietly.

"Oh, it's nothing, I'm fine" she forces a smile.

Knowing that she told a lie, he presses her against him even more; making her cheeks tint pink. "Tell Yours' Truly what's wrong" his voice deeper than before.

She shakes her head a little to show him that she doesn't want to say whatever is making her like this, but Ayato doesn't want to back down, so he pulls himself more onto her. And little by little, he pushes her closer to the shelf. Now trapped between the shelf and him, she can't escape easily unless she tells him.

"I told you, it's nothing… I'm alright" she keeps on coaxing him to that he'll let her go.

Having enough of this, he decides that it's finally time to quench his thirst. Actually, he was already very thirsty and wanted Yui' blood. But since he cannot find the human anywhere, he took a little walk while wondering where his prey is. He met Aria in the hallway and lingered around with her for a bit. But now, all he cares about is to drink his sister's blood; not as sweet as Yui's, but it'll do.

Ayato's hand holds hers' firmly and brings it up to his face, his lips brushing lightly against the side of her uninjured wrist. The next seconds tick by so slowly for her as she feels his fangs ready to painfully stab themselves into her skin and flesh for him to suck the velvet red liquid from her veins.

Fear displays on her face, making him smirk with amusement.

"Putting on a face like that will only make me want to drink your blood more" he whispers to her ear.

Right as he's about to bite, the door creaks open. With his moment disturbed, Ayato glares annoyed at the door. Using this moment, the younger vampire runs away from him and closer to the door. It finally opens to reveal Yui.

"Ayato-Kun, we have a quiz today, did you forget? We should hurry…" she says, almost scolding.

"Who cares about that, Pancake? Yours' Truly was having a good time with Shorty until you interrupted" he complains and leaves the room.

Yui realizes what she had done and a light blush appears on her pale cheek, "S-Sorry! Did I interrupt you? I didn't mean to- I-" her words pause in panic.

"Ah, no! I'm actually relieved that you barged in, thank you. I also need to prepare for school, excuse me".

She gives her a quick hug before going upstairs to get ready. Yui can only stand there a bit confused but with a smile.
