Normal POV
General Yang was still holding on to his 'sore goods' and crumpled onto the ground.
"Damn brat, she's gonna pay for this." He tried to stand up but he paused as he saw that the shadows were moving, crawling as a figure came from the corner. A figure cloaked in darkness and wearing a mask with a sad face on it, and a tear drop hanging under one eye.
"It's you," He fell back in sheer terrible at this figure.
"You've failed...you let the Goddess go, you let the Dragon Knight go..." It was a female voice, "That's so...very sad, General Yang. Don't you think?"
"Now wait, I can fix it, I can...just give me the chance." Yang begged and pleaded.
"Nothing more sad...don't you think?" She repeated, "And there was someone in the shadows...but they're gone, they're all gone."
"Please...please..."
The female just removed her mask, and General Yang jumped back, seeing its face as it laughed. It's laughed with a mechanical madness, as it removed its cloak. That's when another figure came from the shadows, holding a wooden peg and attached to it were strings. The 2nd figure was the one that was actually wearing a mask.
"You're...you're not even-" General Yang stood back, "So...so...the rumors are true. What are you?"
General Yang looked with fear as he saw the female who was always by Vulcan's side...her face always covered by a mask when she suddenly removed it, to remove a scary grin and her eyes wide and dark purple eyes shined and her pupils dilated to the light of the room into a scary diamond shape.
"Oh my," the female tilted her head, "Oh that's correct, you've never seen my face before...Well Dark Lord Vulcanie said it was ok."
General Yang's hair started to turn white from the pure madness on her face. The female just chuckled.
"What? What the hell is she? This isn't a person, she's...she'a a monster!"
"Now...then," She seemed to have been thinking, "General, I'm think it's time for you to retire, don't you?"
General Yang froze in complete fear.
"Excellent, oh my...you're such an obedient listener...I'll tell you what? I'll make it quick and painless." She just lifted up her hand, and the first figure lifted it's razor sharp claws that seemed to glistened in the sun.
"No...please...please...I've been faithful...I've worked so hard...please no." Yang whimpered and was on hands and knees.
"Oh my...maybe-" She brought her hand to her chin, in deep thought.
Suddenly there was a flesh sickening sound and Yang's head rolled on the floor, both mouths dropped but both slowly chuckled, "Oops, sorry it seems my 'friend' didn't think so." The female chuckled wildly and the first figure copied her in its mad mechanical laughter as both disappeared into the shadows.
Butch's POV
This was bad, as I rushed into a room...it was so hot...I was sweating the second I stood in and I swear my nose was gonna bleed from inhaling this heat. Blossom was in tears, holding Brick who was gasping, growling fangs and couldn't see his eyes, he was jerking again. Each step closer was ten degrees hotter, Blossom must have been dehydrated by now.
"It's not working! His elixir isn't working!" Blossom sounded raspy.
"Get her out of here!" I ordered Scholar Utonium but Blossom just held Brick tighter to her lap, shaking her head.
"Listen, you gotta let go-"
"No! He has to make it, and I'll be right here," Blossom held him as Brick's body jerked again, he was gasping, smoke was coming out of his mouth, "I can't leave him like this...I can't."
"Angela...at least get us some water, please...there's a well outside...and don't tell anyone." Scholar Utonium advised, if the people knew...just how weak and sick...it could scare them away. Blossom just nodded and barely made it out. We opened a window, because it was hotter in here than it was in the desert.
"Its like the closer to the castle we get, the worse the attacks are.
Brick's body jolted up again and we ya to hold him down. He was struggling, I could see it in his eyes. He was struggling to get in control, "Why the hell is this happening?"
"It must be the throne, it could be calling him but he's not a full blooded Cynderian and it's too much."
These attacks were always too much for us except Blitz...Brick's temperature, my hind sight, Beast's transformation and Boomer's gills. And now this, our attacks will increase the closer we got to our thrones. I took a deep breath, this was bad...my attacks were already pretty bad...all those nightmares, I never can escape the guilt...of how I let my father died, how I let my beloved Bella die in my arms...how I felt constantly split in two...until Buttercup came along. I was slowly getting better...I did have weird dreams about...about lights...or maybe stars falling through the sky and she was there...crying. Why do I think about something like this, could it be my future.
I snapped out of my thoughts, in time to hold Brick down still, the bed was dripping in his sweat, it was pretty...nasty but I held on still because I knew he would have done the same for me. But Laxus, he would never let anyone know how much he was suffering and in pain, he was the eldest...he had an image. I guess to keep us going, it worked for Boomer and the rebel soldiers but of course Beast and me, could see right through it. The burn marks, smoke coming from his lungs, coughing and sweating.
"X...X...Xaldin..."Laxus' voice was raspy.
"Shut up, "I glared at him, as his eyes finally rolled back so that I could see him. Scholar Utonium sighed in relief, "Just shut up and take it easy."
"Angel...Angela?" He coughed and smoke started coming out of his nostrils, and puff of fire was blown from his mouth.
"Didn't I say shut the hell up?" I snapped which wasn't like me, but I couldn't bare to really lose any more people, especially family. I couldn't stand being stabbed in the chest again, "She's fine. Probably drinking the well dry about now." Just as I said that, Angela or Blossom came in with a bucket. She gave Brick some water and he was fighting his hardest to drink it.
Scholar Utonium pulled me aside, "This isn't good, not even Brick could handle this attack. If we don't get him on that Throne soon, I'm afraid...he'll not survive another attack like this."
I was trying to keep myself calm and control about this, but considering that there was a small tornado inside the hall way, wasn't convincing anyway.
"Blitz...Blitz could take the heat away."'I said.
"Only for a moment maybe...but I'm telling you, we have to get him on that Throne fast...his attacks are too extreme, his body will give out at this rate.
I stepped outside for a second and watched as our army were arrivin, slowly...part if the rebel army, desert knights and civilians, I could guess, coming to fight if the rumors of the Goddess was true.
That's when I saw...That the ground was coming alive...everyone was gasping as the desery was getting its color and the ground around the estate seem to glisten and glowed as the small green fireflies came out of the ground and floating around.
Slowly over the horizon, there were two figures...wait...three, someone was holding someone else. I don't know what came over me, I jumped out of the friggin' window and somehow met them at the gate. Blitz was carrying Buttercup, who was...I was hoping she was ok.
"She's just a little out of it."
Thats when Buttercup finally woke up, Blitz placed her down, he looked really worried.
"What the hell-" She stumbled but I could hardly keep myself back, as I hugged her.
"You're safe," She was burning up but I held on, and I was surprise that she actually hugged me back, "You're ok right?"
Blitz just sighed, "Just say you miss her and get on with it."
That's when I noticed that we were hugging for a pretty long time, and people were kinda looking, it was crazy how we separated at the same time, well this was embarrassing.
I breathed in, my face feeling hot, "Well...glad to see your back..."
"Oh yeah, me too...Oh thanks Blitz."
"And Dusk..." Blitz was hinting.
"Where is Dusk?"
Brianna's POV
Damn, this was pretty bad, all that heat and that pain. I hid behind the house and touched the sand...the warm desert sand...I pulled my hand out from crossing it, that whole time, hiding it from Blitz's eyes. It was glass...if I had held on any longer, it could have been worst. I buried it in the sand and pulled it right back out. It was only a cover up, my hand was still glass...until the desert's cold night air can remove the heat from my hand.
That wasn't what was hurting me though...it was my back. Something must have happened during the fight. I went into a room and shut the door. The constant reminder of home...of what happened in Duskia...and how...Any other Fey who saw me...pitied me.
I sighed as I painful removed my strips, there was a mirror in the room, I was able to see the deep scar that was in the middle of my back, it was glowing red...
"Damn. Damn."
Thats when Blitz, just as I was putting my top back on.
"Trying to sneak a peek, Perv. " I covered my mouth, I was trying to be nicer.
Blitz just closed the door, "Oh c'mon, not like I haven't seen them before...now what's going on? Let me see."
I just turned around and removed the strips, "It's no big deal, just..."
"They used a heat toxin dagger on you, so...of course it would hurt...when you're too close to fire...and Buttercup nearly burned my jacket."
"It's no big deal, I just need the night air. Funny huh? A Desert Muse Fey who can't stand the heat too much."
"Now then...lay on your stomach."
I was in so much pain that I just did it, and braced for it. Blitz laid something cool on my back...it was just as painful as when a soldier stabbed me in the back and ripping my wings off. I tried so hard but I just cried...I could hear the sizzle as Blitz was sucking the heat away but there was nothing to do about the poison part. It wasn't deadly, it just that...Intense Fire was already out kind's weakness, if we didn't get away from those flames...we would turn to glass...but if we shatter...then we died.
In my case, even if I did get away from the flames...it was worst because the poison would heat my body up...and it would start turning into glass.
I clenched my fists tightly, barely able to breathe at the pain. It was like...Lava was inside my whole body. All of those painful memories...
"Princess...Princess...it's ok. It's over, now...it's over." He was shushing me, holding my hand, slowly drain the heat from it...it was slowly turning back to normal, "Now then...what's been going on with my Princess, huh? You havent slapped me all day."
"I was trying to be nice."
"C'mon now-"
"Admit it, I'm mean, ice cold bitch."
"Where did that come from?"
"Just that...when you dump me, I thought...for sure it was because I was really that awful to you...and I tried to prank you and look what happened. I don't know anymore...it doesn't make sense." I was slowly pulling the strips back on my shoulder, "How are you feeling?" I noticed that Blitz was strangely quiet. I had almost forgotten that...this was his father's house.
"Lots of memories...lots of memories."He just sadly smiled at me, "To be honest, I don't know why I even care, my Dad despised me so much, I don't know why I want to avenge him especially when he was cruel to you. That was unacceptable. Then disowning me, telling everyone I died."
"Oh shut up, we both know it's hard to hate you, just like its easy to hate me."
"I don't hate you...and Buttercup wanted to say thank you, which must have been hard. I wish you would tell me what happened...in Duskia...and your wings...I wish you would tell me who did this to you."
I was silence, as the flashes came back to my head.
"Ok, I'll still be waiting when you're ready. And no more of that fake nice mess, you're gonna explode holding all that anger in." There was a knock at the door. I could hear it was Butch.
"Well...thanks to Buttercup's appearance and Fang's...people want to fight...but there is a problem...Laxus...we'll have to fight...soon."
"Brianna, I'll be back." Blitz closed the door.
I hated wars...I...
"We're gonna have to fight." I remembered those words...I stood up.
