Disclaimer: I don't own Narnia or any characters you may recognize from the books or the movies, I wish I did but I don't... I also don't own the Narnian Calendar. It belongs to Elecktrum who was kind enough to let me borrow it for my story. Her own stories are awesome and you should go read them too.
Summary: A sorcerer challenged by Aslan. Love and friendship alike are tested by his presence. And the Gentle Queen faces her own challenge when the sorcerer's true colors are unveiled.
A/N: If you have not read the first eight stories in the A Light in the Darkness main story arc (Awakened, Shadowed, Revealed, Concealed, Rekindled, Refracted, Reflected, and Veiled), I highly recommend you do so for the full experience. However, I have included a quick summary of the previous stories so if you want to give this one a whirl on its own, you can.
Epilogue: Farewell
The wind was light and carried the fresh breath of spring as it danced around her, darting through the memorial garden to the fallen soldiers of Narnia and moving her skirts and causing her dark hair to cover her face. She was glad. It concealed the tears that burned her eyes. Markus was dead. The one man in the worlds who had seen her, not the Gentle, not a beautiful woman to paraded as a trophy. He had seen her. Susan.
And now he was gone.
"Aslan?"
She couldn't continue. She didn't know what to say or how to give voice or thought to the anger and hurt burning in her heart. Why would Aslan bring Markus into her life? Why did He let him touch her heart? Only so he would die.
Susan closed her eyes then swiped away the tears. "No more tears. No more sadness."
She would not forget Markus, though. And she would not dishonor his memory by listening to the empty flatteries of petty, selfish men. She would not let her loneliness make her foolish. She would not accept any suitor who was not like Markus, who did not see beyond appearances.
Susan opened her eyes and then touched a kiss to her fingers before pressing them to the plaque bearing Markus' name. "Goodbye, Markus. I will not forget what you taught me."

A/N: Please Read and Review! So ends A Light in the Darkness: Unveiled. I hope you have enjoyed (for the most part at least) this story and the journey the characters have been on this time. I would like to thank everyone who has reviewed, favorited, and followed this story since y'all keep me inspired. This is officially my longest and most reviewed story to date. A huge thank you to WillowDryad as always for her wonderful help in brainstorming, cheering on my evil cliffhangers and plot twists, and all around greatness! Not to mention letting me borrow her Tigers, Bast and Babur, primarily to be annoyed by Remus and Romulus. ;) Shout out to Jaygee for making an awesome trailer for Unveiled and giving Markus the proper looks. And special thanks once again to M.M. Chris who provided the French translations for Susan and Kat. :) Leave a review and let me know what y'all thought about this chapter and the story as a whole.
A/N2: It will be a while before I post the next long story due to Real Life. However, I can tell you it will involve Giants and the boys in a lot of trouble. ;) I will still be posting stories, though, at least finishing up a few and more of One Hundred Years of Winter. Maybe a few oneshots. If you haven't already voted in my current poll, please do. I love hearing my readers' opinions. In the words of Tigger, "TTFN. Ta-Ta For Now!"
