"Have a nice little stroll?" Cesar asked, eyeing Glenn and Katie with annoyance. Katie frowned; since when was he the boss? Nikolai raised an eyebrow at him, but did not reprimand him. Scout thumped his tail at sight of her, huffing and nudging her hand so she would pet him.

"Hershel told us you storm off." Nikolai said. Katie looked past him toward Hershel's cell.

"We haven't cleared out enough of the prison yet for you to be wandering around." Cesar continued. He snorted. "Especially in your condition."

Katie's frown deepened into a scowl. She didn't need reminders of her injuries; she could feel them well enough as it was. Glenn looked from Katie to Cesar; he squeezed past them back into the cellblock.

"I'm gonna go check on Hershel." He said, nodding at Katie. Nikolai lit a cigarette, puffing slowly before speaking.

"Cesar and I will clear more of the prison out. Stay here with Scout in case anything happens."

"Did you find Rick?" Katie asked. Nikolai sighed.

"I did. He is in room where his wife die."

Katie bit the inside of her cheek, looking down. Poor Rick, she thought, that was the last thing he needed to see. She hoped he would come back soon. Nikolai clapped a hand on her shoulder, gently pushing her into the cellblock. Cesar unsheathed a rather uncomfortable looking serrated knife, and clicked on a light at his shoulder. They were professional, if nothing else.

"Be careful." She said, waving. Nikolai waved back cheerfully, and they disappeared down the corner and out of sight. Katie clicked on Scout's radio, walking a distance away from the gate before sitting down and sighing. Katie put her face in her hands, rubbing vigorously. Everyone is so on edge. We need something to help everyone relax.

"What did they say to you?"

Katie looked up and saw Maggie, holding the baby in her arms. Glenn was behind her, looking a little nervous.

"Not much; just that they were going to clear more of the prison." She replied, shrugging. Maggie sat down across from her, as did Glenn.

"That man, he's the only one with enough medical experience to help Dad. Clearing the prison could wait until everyone is back." Maggie chided, knitting her brow. Katie shrugged again.

"Rick didn't seem to think so."

All three of them grew somber at the memory of Rick tearing off into the depths of the prison. The baby gurgled sleepily, and Maggie got back on her feet.

"I'm gonna go put the baby down for a nap." She said, without pausing in her stride back to Hershel's cell. As she walked past the steps Carl walked down them, looking as gray and lifeless and the walls surrounding them. Katie's heart lurched. He's only twelve years old. Sometimes it was easy to forget that, with the way things were. She glanced at Glenn as he walked past; both of them shared an awkward look. Carl went to the gate, pulling out the ring of keys.

"Heyy, where are you going?" Katie asked, jumping to her feet and heading over to him.

"I'm going to find my dad." Carl replied, not stopping as he fiddled with the lock. Katie grabbed the keys from him.

"I don't think so, dude. Why don't you just wait for him to come back with the rest of us?"

"WHO ARE YOU TO TELL ME! SHUT UP!" Carl roared, making Katie take a step back. He ran off, back up the stairs to his cell. Glenn watched him go, then turned back to Katie. He opened his mouth, and she held up a finger.

"Don't." she warned. Glenn shrugged.

"That could've gone better." He said. Katie's eyes widened, and he took off laughing. She chased him, swearing at his back. Glenn ducked into a cell and closed the door, holding it shut as she pulled on it.

"Open…this…door!" she demanded, feet sliding as she pulled. Glenn laughed and shook his head, pulling the opposite direction. Katie released it, and instead rapped his fingers. Scout barked and wagged his tail, standing at the gate. He whined and scratched at the door with his paw.

"Aw, do you need to go out buddy?" Katie asked, striding over to him.

"I think we could all use a little sunshine." Hershel said, hobbling out of his cell on his crutches. Even Carl peeked out from his cell.

"Sounds like a good idea to me. Let's go."

The air was warm, and the brightness of the setting sun seemed to make everyone feel a little better. Katie stretched her arms over her head, watching Scout race around the yard. Maggie and Hershel sat with the baby, who was still sleeping, though she was making unhappy sounds. Hershel shook his head.

"I hope they get back soon. She won't last much longer without formula."

Katie made a face. Way to ruin the mood. However, as if on cue, the distinct rumble of a motorcycle could be heard. Her face lit up.

"There they are! C'mon!" she exclaimed happily, pointing some distance down the road. Coming up the drive were Daryl and Carol, Walkers shambling after them with outstretched arms. Katie and Glenn ran to the gate, yanking it open just wide enough for the bike to get through. Daryl drove it up to the table, and Carol swung off it, slinging her backpack from her shoulder. Glenn handed Daryl a bottle of water, and Katie watched as Carol mixed the formula into a baby bottle. Daryl took the infant from Maggie and held the bottle to her lips. When she started to drinking, he looked around at everyone with a huge grin plastered on his face. Katie folded her arms across her chest, feeling a little weight lift off her shoulders.

Nikolai and Cesar approached from the cellblock. They were followed by Rick, who looked, if nothing else, worn. Katie moved aside as they approached, Rick heading straight for Daryl. Katie thought he seemed a little reluctant to give her up, but Carol smiled and said something to Rick she couldn't quite hear. He gave a half-hearted grin, looking straight into his baby's face. Katie sighed, smiling herself at the sight. It was good he was finally acknowledging his child.
