Lupin held the small girl softly; she now looked at her brother. "Harry..." Harry stared at her, "Sidney...what happened?" He was staring at her stomach; she gasped and bowed her head. Lupin set her down; she shifted from foot to foot nervously. Draco looked up, "Sidney..." She looked up, starting to smile. She walked up to him and Draco hugged Sidney as tight as he would allow himself.
Sidney kissed Draco's cheek; she stared into his eyes. He melted right there; tears fell from his eyes, "Sidney, I'm so, so sorry we left you! I thought you were behind us!" He fell to his knees, tears streaming down his cheeks like rain on metal. He muttered to his hands, "It's all my fault."
Sidney stared down at Draco, broken down on the ground, crying. She let tears escape from her eyes, "It's okay Draco. You were brave to leave like that." Snape looked at the two, faces close, tears glistening on both of their cheeks. They looked so happy.
Harry could only watch as the two made up. He still disapproved of their relationship, but after living with Draco, was a little bit more comfortable.
Snape briskly said, "Let's go!" They all walked back to the school. Sidney looked up, and sighed a little bit. She smiled softly, "It's good to be back." Draco snaked his hand into hers and she looked at it, then at him. He smiled at her. Snape looked over at Lupin. He wasn't so bad.
Sidney stared at the doors, now scared. She didn't deserve this place; she was a freak. She turned around, hugging Draco. Draco gasped, "Sidney?" Tears fell down her cheeks, "I shouldn't be here." Draco looked down at her; she looked beautiful still, but lacked the confidence she used to have.
She lost all color in her face. Her eyes were wide and scared; she saw Snape moving towards them. She flinched away from him. She hid behind Draco. Her eyes were barely peeking Draco's shoulder.
The doors opened with a loud bang. Sidney flinched and jumped at the same time. Pomfrey stood there with McGonagall; Sidney had fallen and was now trying to stay low. (Which isn't easy when your pregnant.)
Pomfrey said, "Where's she?" McGonagall saw Sidney's tear stained face, "Sidney!" She then noticed Sidney's stomach, "Poppy!" Pomfrey looked and when she saw Sidney, she gasped, "Oh no."
Sidney couldn't feel anything; she started to cry hard. She felt someone touch her; she flinched away again. She wouldn't let herself feel; Draco helped her sit up. She leaned into him, crying into his shirt. He covered her face by his own hand and stroked her back. McGonagall stood the two up and led them into the castle. The two witches led the two teenagers to the infirmary.
Draco softly lay Sidney in the back bed, as she whimpered, "Don't let go...please." He moved one of his hands from her head, to her right hand. He sat beside her bed and leaned over her to give her a peck on the cheek.
Pomfrey looked at the two, eyes tearing up. She'd never seen anything like it; these two were meant for each other. Sidney's eyes closed as she started to try to relax. She sucked in a sudden breath; Poppy looked at her stomach, knowing she probably hadn't eaten for either herself or the baby or babies.
Poppy went to the Great Hall and asked the elves to make a meal for two on one plate. She returned to the wing with the food in her hands. Sidney was talking weakly to Draco, "...best friend I've ever had." Then she looked up; she got some color back into her face as she saw the food.
Draco looked behind him; Madame Pomfrey was holding a piece of chocolate and some fish. Sidney was staring at the chocolate. She reached out slightly, holding out her hands. Draco reached with her; he didn't trust her strength yet.
Sidney and Draco worked together to get the tray on her lap. Sidney stared at the food, and started to eat slowly, then faster and faster. Draco smiled as it played out; Sidney looked like a snake, eating a meal. She lunged at the food and gulped it down. She then picked up the chocolate and stuffed it into her mouth. She sighed as the burst of flavor oozed into her mouth.
Draco murmured to Madame Pomfrey, "Can she have any more chocolate?" Poppy nodded, "If she wants it." He looked over at Sidney, who was licking her fingers of the melted excess of chocolate. He chuckled, "I think she wants more." Poppy went to the corner of the room and snapped another piece of chocolate off a small bar. She turned to Sidney and gave it to her. Sidney looked wary at first to eat it because of the presence of the school nurse.
Draco watched as she ate it. He smiled as she sighed.
Draco hadn't left the hospital wing, or Sidney's side, until it was midnight. Pomfrey had to bustle him off to his bed. Sidney had fallen asleep at 9:00. She wore the night gown girls had to wear in the hospital wing. She cradled the pillows in her hands.
Pomfrey smiled, "Good night..." She turned out the lights.
