Selfless Love

Chapter 50: Tears

Christina's POV:

I walk away from their apartment in shock. I can't believe something like that happened to them. They don't deserve it. Not after everything they had already been through.

They didn't even know about her.

I can't imagine ever going through something like that.

I enter the cafeteria and find Will sitting with our friends, other than Four and Tris obviously. I walk over to them and sit next to Will and Marlene.

"Christina, what's wrong?" Will asks, wiping something wet off my cheeks.

It's then that I realise I'm crying.

I can't believe my best friend went through that.

"I found out why Four and Tris have been acting weird." I tell them.

"What? Why?" Zeke.

"By the look on your face it can't be good." Shauna.

I shake my head.

I have to tell them.

I know Four and Tris probably won't be able to.

Four cried. I have never seen him cry before.

"Something happened in Amity."

"What did?" Marlene.

They're all worried.

I can tell by the looks on their faces.

"After I called them to warn them about Andrew and some factionless going to Amity they heard gunshots. After a while they heard a knock on the door and Johanna told them it was her. Natalie opened the door and was shot. Johanna was there, but so was Andrew and some factionless. They were held captive somewhere in Amity. Andrew gave them a note saying that one of them was going to die. They debated and decided that it was going to be Johanna. Andrew came in, shot Johanna, and Tris went to help her but he shot Tris as well, in the side of her stomach. When she woke up in the infirmary in Amity Four told her that she was really pregnant with twins, but the baby was against her back and was being hidden by Theo, so they didn't know... The bullet went through her uterus and hit the second baby… their little girl died and they didn't even know about her. She had to be removed by C-section… but that's why they're always jumpy when Theo cries and why they've been acting weird… they don't want to lose another child. They're terrified of losing Theo and any other child they might have."

I'm practically sobbing and as I look around the table everyone else is crying as well. Even Lynn.

"They shouldn't have had to go through that. They don't deserve it." Marlene.

"We should go and see if they're okay." Zeke says, he looks angry as well.

We all nod and stand. We leave the cafeteria and walk to their apartment.

We are standing outside the apartment and we can hear the two of them crying together.

We don't know what to do or say, we just listen for a few moments.

"I want our daughter back." Tris cries.

"I know. I do, too. But we'll have a daughter one day. I promise." Four replies, also crying but trying to help her.

"But she won't be Angel."

"I know she won't be. But she'll still be our little girl."

I look at everyone else and they're crying harder than they were earlier.

I knock on the door three times and we wait.

I hear someone walking towards the door and Four opens it.

He's wiped the tears off his cheeks but his eyes are filled with them.

"Why are you all crying?" He asks, trying to sound like his usual self but his voice cracks.

Zeke engulfs him in a hug.

"I'm sorry, man." Zeke replies sadly.

"You know?" Four.

We all nod.

A tear slips down his cheek and he lets us all in, shutting the door behind us.

Tris is sitting on the sofa, sobbing, Theo sleeps in her arms. The other girls rush over to her and embrace her in hugs, telling her soothing words. The boys focus on Four.

I just stand there.

Looking at my friends who have been through too much in their short lives.

I just hope they get to be happy.

Hey Ravens, so this is going to be the last chapter of this story but I will be doing a sequel which will be called Brave Love. It will be set two or three years after this one and that is all I'm going to say.

I will post the first chapter of that story as soon as I can.
