2.11 Merry Christmas

Ace yawned as he looked out the window from his bed, Luffy sleeping softly on his lap. A soft smile came to Ace's lips as he watched his little brother mumble in his sleep. A small tap made him look up and rolled his eyes as he saw the worried look on Sabo's face. He lifted his wand and flicked it. The glass disappeared and Sabo crawled through with a small sheepish grin. "Hey."

"Hey." Ace grinned back.

And then Sabo looked at their brother and sighed. "Well, at least he's sleeping."

"Yeah."

"Why do you think he hasn't been sleeping lately? Did he get your disease?"

Ace rolled his eyes again. "It's not a disease! It's a-"

"Yeah, yeah. I know, I know." Sabo dismissed his brother's glare with a wave of his hand before the teen sat down on the floor. "But seriously, what do you think is wrong with Luffy? I mean, he's never had trouble with sleep before." At that, Ace frowned.

He was unsure himself...it was true. Their little brother never had trouble with sleep...and really, nothing seemed to truly faze the twelve year old boy, despite the many disturbing things he had seen in his short life such as the dead unicorn the year before, the weird videos like he had seen on the internet back when Luffy was ten that Christmas, courtesy of Shanks...the idiot...or even worse, that one day when Luffy managed to stumble upon these two stupid older teens who decided that trying to hump each other in an empty park behind some bushes...well, at least Luffy didn't know what they were doing.

Ace and Sabo did have a hard time trying to avoid Luffy when he kept asking them what the two teens were doing...

Sabo sighed before rubbing his temples. "There's something going on. And it can't just be the whole Chamber of Secrets thing that going on." The teen muttered in annoyance. "Obviously, whatever this thing is, it's really bothering Luffy."

"...Say..." Sabo looked at Ace questionably. "Yeah?"

Ace just stared out the window, his eyes narrowed and his lips set to a thin line. "...Nothing...It's...nothing." The older brother muttered before he focused his attention on their little brother who leaned into Ace's hand as the older weaved his fingers through the boy's hair. "I'm just glad Luffy's sleeping."

Sabo grinned slightly. "Yeah. He needs the sleep."

"Say, what time is it?"

"Past midnight." Sabo said before grinning cheekily. He suddenly pulled up his bag that Ace swore wasn't there before and then took out two wrapped packages. "Merry Christmas twat."

Ace only stuck out his tongue. "Just for that, I won't give you your gift, bloody jerk."

"Aww, I'm hurt. I'm really hurt right here, Ace." Sabo gave a mocking pout as he clutched at his clothes, his hand right above his heart before he laughed softly. "Come on, bro. Let's just sleep. We'll need it. Luffy's probably gunna be all jumpy come tomorrow."

"True." Ace said with a grin before he shuffled to the right, Luffy now seated on his right and his head still on his lap. "Sit by Luffy." He said and Sabo stood up, making a move to sit right besides Luffy. Then he reached over and ruffled the younger boy's hair. At that, Luffy mumbled in his sleep before smacking his lips in contentment.

Sabo shuffled around on his seat, trying to get comfortable. "Man, the last time we slept like this was when?"

"Over three years ago."

Sabo grinned sleepily before yawning. "We're going to be sore tomorrow."

"Meh. Who cares?"

Zoro yawned and looked up at the early morning sun. It's been a long time since he had really stopped and thought to do...nothing really. Behind him, Kuina and Tashigi were talking as they sat on the snow-covered ground. Zoro didn't really bother to see what they were doing.

"Oi, Zoro! Try dodge this!"

The green haired Slytherin turned, confused before a snowball smacked him on the face and he fell backwards. A laugh made his sit up, his eyes narrowed to a glare as the two sisters giggled for where they stood.

"DAMN IT! I'LL GET YOU FOR THAT!" Zoro roared while Tashigi and Kuina childishly stuck out their tongues.

"Merry Christmas, bloody idiot!" Tashigi yelled while Kuina rolled her eyes and smirked at her friend before the two dashed away with Zoro chasing after them, yelling out curses after curses.

Nami giggled as she poked her sister's cheeks. The girl mumble in her sleep before turning around. Nami giggled once more when a flick against the back of her head made her look up and childishly pout at her mother. "Mum!"

Her mother only grinned. "Come on, Nami. Let your sister sleep. And we can eat without her." Her mother said with a wink, instantly making her youngest adoptive daughter laugh before the two scurried away to the kitchen as a sleepy Nojiko slowly sat up, sleeping yelling, "I can hear you all!" Before groaning and plopping back onto her shared bed with Nami.

"Just get up or we're eating everything! Including mum's amazing tangerine shortbread and scones!"

"HEY!" Nojiko immediately shot out of the bed, her eyes wide before she ran out of the room, scurrying after her family. "Don't just eat them all! Save some for me!"

"Hahaha!"

"Jerks!"

"Gosh, don't worry, sweetie, here's yours. Merry Christmas."

"Hahahaha!"

"Shut up, Nami!"

"Merry Christmas, silly Nojiko~"

A small grumble was heard. "...Merry Christmas, little twat."

Usopp gave a small blush as he saw Kaya hold onto her new white scarf with gentle care. His blush seemed to have deepened when the girl looked at him and smiled brightly. "Thank you so much Usopp." She said, her voice still weak but despite that, it held hidden energy and happiness.

And at that, the young wizard boy laughed. "No problem Kaya! I...j-just saw it...and thought it would suit you..." His cheeks were reddening again.

Kaya herself had a small blush on her cheeks as she wrapped the scarf around her neck. It was large and it covered her mouth. But her eyes expressed joy so Usopp could only sigh in relief. Kaya looked at him before turning around and grabbing something. "I almost forgot! Merry Christmas, Usopp." Kaya handed him a wrapped package and Usopp stared at it, his face now completely red.

"Y-You d-d-didn't have t-t-to-!"

"I wanted to." Kaya tilted her head to the side as she waited for her friend to open it up.

Usopp gulped before he shakily tried to unwrap the small box. But due to his hands shaking, it was rather difficult for the boy but soon he unwrapped it. And when he opened it, his mouth fell to a gape before he reached inside and brought up the necklace inside. "...I-It's...it's..."

It was Kaya's turn to blush deeply as she looked down. "I hope you like it. Your mother showed me some of your jolly roger drawings and this one seemed very you. I-I made several more, just in case you wanted the entire set." Usopp gaped at the girl as she reached down and held up another box, open, and inside, were eight other necklaces, shimmering in the winter sunlight. He shakily reached forward and daintily took one in his hands, a smiling jolly roger, solid silver with a straw hat atop its head

"N-No...I-I love...I love it." Usopp muttered, staring in wonder at the two necklaces in his hands. Then he gave a shy smile to his friend and whispered, "M-Merry Christmas, Kaya..."

Kaya only gave a shy smile back.

"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart..." Sanji started humming instead as he pulled the apple pie out of the oven, determined to wrap it up and send it to Hogwarts to the three idiotic brothers. He had already sent pies to his precious girls when he remembered Luffy's tired and exhausted body all month.

He decided to make a pie for the boy and his brothers as well.

"This year, to save me from tears...hmm hm hmmm hm hmmm hmmmmm..." The blonde gave a small smile as he sniffed at the pleasant, sweet aroma of the apple pie and he sighed. He was a little annoyed that this one seemed more mouthwatering than the ones he sent the girls...but oh well. He already sent the girls their pies...the blonde French boy sighed again before he set the pie down, letting it cool.

He walked out of the kitchen and looked around the now empty bakery. His grandfather had reluctantly lent him the keys for just that day after their Christmas breakfast with the rest of the stupid chefs and he couldn't help but wonder why the old man even lent him the keys.

Most of the time, the old fart just kicked him away, yelling at Sanji and asking if his brain was dead...or something like that.

The blonde stretched his arms up to the air and hummed in appreciation. He truly loved cooking and baking. And he aspired to be a chef one day. One of the top in France and around the entire world, topping even his old man! A dream that equaled to the ones in his dream where he was a pirate, traveling with his friends, his family, all aiming for their own dreams. At that thought, Sanji grinned again before humming a song once more.

"Deck the halls with boughs of holly, falalalalaaaaa lalaaalaaalaaaa~"

Chopper giggled as he looked out the window of his room. He rested his chin on top his hooves and stared up into the blue skies before he looked down at the isolated yard. His smile dropped a bit as he stared around his father's lonely estate and despite the beauty the snow held, he felt as though there should be something down there...

A knock on the door made him turn and he smiled brightly at seeing a teen standing there, her long hair tied to two pigtails, trailing down her back. Her smile was a bit weak and it made Chopper's little heart break a bit. But then behind her stood Law and then Chopper understood why Lami was up and about.

She wanted to be energetic around her brother. She wanted her brother not to worry. Just like she never wanted Chopper to worry so much and instead always read books with him, drew on paper and talked stories.

"Chopper, why don't we go downstairs?" Lami asked. Her voice seemed a bit drained but if anything, she seemed more sleepy, yet somehow excited. "We should go see if Santa visited!"

Law rolled his eyes but there was a fond look in them. "Santa doesn't exist, Lami."

"He does!" Chopper piped happily as he skipped over to the two taller and older her considered his best friends...and brother and sister. "I saw him last night! He was so big and he really wore a red coat! His beard was so white!" Chopper squealed happily and he felt his grin widen as he saw Lami's own eyes twinkled in excitement, proof that her childish wonder never truly left.

"Oh, wow! Really?" Lami asked, looking more young than she actually is.

"Yeah!"

Law only sighed. "Stop encouraging him, Lami." He muttered but then stopped when Lami turned to him, her face set to a mock anger.

"Trafalgar Water D. Law! Don't take away our childhood wonder!" She scolded but the other two could see the humor in her eyes and at that, Chopper laughed happily, his hoodie slipping off his head and revealing just a bit more of his antlers while Law groaned. Lami then turned into a giggling mess along with Chopper before the two scurried down to the living room.

"Hey! Don't run! Lami! Chopper!"

The younger two only laughed out loud before screaming as loud as they could, their voices echoing in the house and surely waking up Doctor by now: "MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

Robin looked at the grinning face of one Monkey D. Luffy. The boy finally seemed to have had a good amount of sleep for he was running around the Great Hall, giggling, laughing, and wishing everybody he could see a very Merry Christmas. He even went up to Dumbledore and pouted, declaring that Dumbledore should replace his wizard hat with a Santa hat just for today.

The other staff members tried to stop the boy but only gaped when Dumbledore then magically changed his hat to a Santa hat, just as Luffy demanded. Instantly, Luffy grinned and gave a loud boisterous laugh, saying that it suited the headmaster very much before skipping over to the Potions Master who looked annoyed but his expression softened as Luffy bounded up to him.

"Merry Christmas, Robin!" Robin blinked as she suddenly saw Luffy right in front of her, a bright grin on his face. Before she could say a Merry Christmas back, much less return his smile, the boy had suddenly grabbed her and gave her a tight hug. Robin gave a small gasp before looking down at the messy mop of head belonging to the boy. "We still haven't found everybody, but I'm sure we will soon." Luffy said softly, as though assuring the woman. "I'll make sure we'll find the rest of our family."

Robin didn't really have time to wonder what the boy meant before he pulled away, still flashing that bright smile before he leaned forward and kissed her cheek gently. "Merry Christmas." He said happily once more before bounding away, running into Sabo's arms as he ruffled the boy's messy hair.

The History professor only stared after the boy.

She then reached up and placed her palm against her cheek. There were still times where the boy surprised her, dropping a surprise attack every now and then. A small smile came to her lips and she giggled a bit before whispering, "Merry Christmas, Luffy."
