Here is the next chapter! I hope you enjoy it! Nothing else to say really, sooooo by now! DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN TWILIGHT!
After the party almost everyone came back to our house to hang out, even though our little Mia was passed out about two minutes into our ride home. Zach and Graham we pretty worn out too so they were in their room watching a movie.
So, really it was just us adults hanging out. I was currently making fun of Quil. I enjoy making him blush, especially since it is so hard to do usually. "Aw come on Quil, we all know you'd make a good boyfriend. And she knows it too, obviously."
"Shut up Bells. Mia doesn't have a crush on me. She has everyone wrapped around her finger." He pouted back.
Megan laughed and grabbed his face by his cheeks, "Oh Quil, Quil, Quil. You should feel honored to be Mia's first crush."
He rolled his eyes in reply. My poor Emmett was grumbling under his breath. "What's up Em?" I asked with a smile.
"Five years old, first crush, first day of school. Why is she growing up?" He groaned.
"Well, just think about it this way. Her first crush could have been on someone worse… you know like JAKE." I fake shuddered. "Yuck."
Jake glared at me from across the table, "I believe that I was YOUR first crush, ya know."
"Yea." I laughed. "Maybe that's why I'm so screwed up."
"Oh whatever!" Jake protested. "You were messed up before I even met you."
We both fell into a fit of giggles. Maybe we had a little too much wine.
"You know, I think my first crush was on Jake too." Angela piped up.
"Well it seems like my baby daddy here is a hot commodity around here." Nessie laughed.
"Pssssh." Megan snorted. "The only reason Angela had a crush on Jake is he because he was always hanging out with Embry. She totally though Embry's name was Jake."
Angela blushed. "I forgot about that."
Embry looked over at Angela, "So you had a little crush on me did ya?" he teased.
"Shut up. And anyway, it worked out for me didn't it?" Angela replied, pulling his face to hers giving him a quick kiss."
This caused me to choke on my wine. "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?!"
"Umm. We went on our first date last month… he finally convinced me after we made out at a party. Ever since he has been relentless." Angela smirked.
Embry laughed. "Oh, so it was all me. You didn't want any of this, huh?" he motioned to his whole body; doing a little wiggle.
"What about you two? Are you together yet?" I asked pointing to Megan and Quil.
"Mhmm. Just last week. She wore me down." Quil smirked.
Em, Jake, and I rose our eyebrows. "She wore YOU down?" Jake asked. "Last I knew, you were smitten with her and she had no idea. What changed?"
Quil's Smirked stayed firmly in place. "I decided to use a different tactic than Embry and his persistence. I decided to play hard to get. I stopped calling and asking her out; I even hung out with another chick. Ugh. That was the hardest part. Rose and Jasper set me up, that chick was crazy. But anyway it worked eventually. She started calling me to hang out instead of the other way around. I even said I had plans the first time she asked me out just to make sure she really wanted me."
"Yes, yea. I fell for it. Whatever, don't get a big head." Megan said; rolling her eyes. "Now, I'm just worried that I have some competition."
"Ugh." Emmett grumbled. "Do we have to be back on this topic?" he whined.
"Em, man calm down. She's only five. There are worse years to come. Just wait until she has her first boyfriend and she enters her teenage years." Jake said. I'm assuming he was trying to help, but I mean really? Is he drunk?
"UGH!" Emmett groaned louder. "That's it. She isn't ever leaving this house!"
"Oh, Emmett. Stop it!" I said. "And you, you do realize that you are having a daughter as well. You have the same things to look forward to." The last part directed at Jake.
"UGH!" that one was Jake. They both had their heads on the table; whining and complaining.
Nessie laughed, "And on that note I think this party is over. Let's go Jake."
Everyone else left as well. And Em and I went to bed after checking on the boys (who were both passed out on their bedroom floor).
The next day was our last one with the kids before school started. We didn't really do anything besides hang around the house. The kids played a lot outside on the playset while Em and I sat on a blanket and watched them.
The day went by too fast for my liking and before I knew it I was helping the kids (and Emmett) lay out their clothes for the next day. The boys were easy, they didn't care what they wore. Mia on the other hand was taking a while.
"Well, honey, do you want to wear a dress? Pants? Shorts? A skirt?" I asked; sitting with her on her bedroom floor.
Mia groaned (sounding a lot like her dad the other night), "I don't knoooowwwww. What makes me look the smartest?"
"You always look smart. How about this; what's your favorite outfit? Or what about your favorite color?" I asked.
"I like purple… and I like my purple dress with the white flowers on them… but I might want to wear pants or shorts so I can wear my purple tennis shoes… Ugh. I don't know Bella!"
I giggle a little, "Mia, if that is your only problem why don't you just wear your purple shoes with your purple dress?"
"Really?" She asked. "But aren't you supposed to wear pretty shoes with dresses?" She had an adorable little crease in between her eyebrows.
I rubbed my finger over the little crease; making her giggle and making the crease disappear. "Yes, I'm sure hun. We talked about this, remember? You can wear whatever you think looks good. It's all up to you."
"Yay! Ok! That's what I'll wear." She paused for a minute. "You know… don't tell anyone… but I'm a little scared."
"Oh baby. That's normal. But let me tell you a secret; school is great. You are going to make so many friends! And sometimes you'll get to bring them over here to play after school. And you love it when I teach you things here, you're so smart. You're going to have so much fun, I just know it."
"You think I'll make a lot of friends?" She asked timidly. This wasn't something I was used to from her. Zach? Yes. Mia? No.
"I sure do. But you'll never know if you don't go." I said poking her gently in her side causing her to giggle.
"Ok."
"Good." I said. "Let's get you to bed so you're not all tired on you first day."
The next morning was a little… ok a lot chaotic. Everyone except for me was running around trying to get ready for their day. Looking for missing shoes (I have no idea how they lost them from last night to now), finding back packs, finishing breakfast, and so on. I was trying to do Mia's hair and get lunches made. Where is Emmett?
"Em! I'm gunna need your help. We only have a few minutes until their bus gets here and I don't have time to fix everyone's lunch."
No answer.
"Em! Come on I need some help!" I yelled; still doing Mia's hair.
"I'm coming. Sorry. I almost chocked myself with my tie. I panicked a bit. Ok. What am I making?" he said barreling down the stairs.
"Just do sandwiches and carrots with ranch for today. We're too busy to do anything else today." I told him.
He gave me a mock salute. "Yes Ma'am."
Five minutes later, all shoes and backpacks were found, hair was done, lunches were made, and the kids were out the door and on the bus heading to school. Mia was peering out the window on the bus waving at us. We waved back and I gave her a thumbs up, which she returned with a smile.
When the bus was out of sight I turned to Em; his eyes were watery. My poor guy.
"Let's head in and get you ready for work." I said.
"She's on a bus, going to school. I'm sad." He stated as we walked inside.
"I know. It'll be ok." I said patting his head trying not to giggle.
"I know." He sighed. "When I get back from work she'll be here… I'll have to live."
"That's right. Now go help some sick kids." I demanded playfully handing him his brief case.
"Alright, alright. Pushy." He grumbled with a smile.
"You love it." I giggled.
He laughed too, "I sure do." He said, then leaned down to give me a kiss. "Love you."
"Love you too. And the kids and I will see you when you get home. Have a good day; don't worry so much."
"I'll try." Was his reply.
"That's all I ask."
Once he was gone I cleaned up the house a little bit. But, that didn't take long and now I was bored. With the kids and Em gone I already realized that I needed to figure out something to do with myself while their gone. Maybe I should get a job, since I don't have one anymore. I stopped that nonsense soon after Em and I got serious. I didn't like him paying me… it was weird. Anyway, I'll figure it out.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. It scared me out of my thoughts, causing me to laugh at myself. I walked to the door. However, when I opened it I was a little confused.
"Um, hello. Can I help you…" I trialed off hoping this woman would fill in the blank for me.
"Yes, I'm looking for Emmett Cullen. I'm Lauren Mallory. Is he here?"
