Winter

"Trunks!" Bulla hissed, storming into his study with a glowering glare.

The young Saiyan Prince glanced up from his paper work, raising an eyebrow. What had his sister in such a bad mood, and why was it directed at him?

"You need to do something!" Bulla finally seethed, her hands balling into fists as she placed them on her hips.

"About what?" Trunks blinked, confused.

"I just had to try on a dress!" She huffed, rolling her blue eyes.

"You poor thing," Trunks commented blandly. "It must have been traumatizing."

"A dress that I'll have to wear at your wedding!" Trunks froze, and Bulla smiled slightly. "Got your attention now?" She sighed, her anger fading a little as she walked closer to her brother's desk. "You need to say something... You know just as well as I that you don't plan on marrying Marron. It's almost spring, Trunks... Your 21st birthday-"

"I know," he cut her off with a hiss. "It's getting closer, I know."

"Then what are you planning? Winter is almost over!" Bulla practically cried.

"I know!" He sighed, running a hand through his shirt lavender hair. "Bulla, I honestly don't know. I can't marry Marron... And Pan, she's being forced to marry Uub. What am I going to do? I can't leave her... How could I ever leave her?" He asked, his tone soft and gentle as he looked at the table in front of him.

Bulla frowned, walking around her brother's desk and placing an arm on his shoulder. "Whatever you decide to do, you know I have your back."

Trunks looked up at her, "I have a feeling it's not going to be pretty..." he sighed. Honestly, he wasn't too worried about their father, Trunks knew that he would eventually get over it. What he was worried about was Eighteen declaring a war on them...

Bulla smirked, knowing just what he was thinking. She wasn't scared of that android- hell she had slapped her just a few months ago... "Bring it on..."

"And, Videl was acting extremely weird today," Pan mumbled, continuing her story.

"How so?" Trunks asked, playing with their entwined fingers as she leaned against him.

"I don't know," Pan shrugged. "She just was..." she trailed off slightly, frowning. Videl had been strangely kind, and Pan knew there had to be a reason behind it. "We had to go into town today to have me and her measured for the spring ball," she rolled her eyes. "I'm going to hate it."

"Spring starts in two weeks," Trunks whispered, his stomach sinking slightly.

"Yeah," Pan whispered back, nodding her head.

Trunks sighed, he had a few weeks to decide on what to do. He wrapped his arms around Pan, resting his forehead against her back. Maybe they should just runaway- that would be better than nothing, right? He could steal a ship, and they could go to some planet. Of course, they would disguise themselves, but it could work! Once things finally settled down, they could come back...

"I want to show you something," Pan spoke softly.

"What?" He asked, letting go of her slightly.

She stood up, helping him up as well. Holding his hand, she walked past Camelot, patting his nose twice. She led him through the trees until they reached a line to enter the garden. They cut in through the garden, going down a path Pan seemed to know well. Finally, they stopped at a grey tombstone.

"It's my father's memorial," Pan told him softly. "His birthday was in the spring, too..."

Trunks looked at her before kneeling down, and she followed his actions. She bowed her head, saying her own silent prayer to him. Trunks bowed his head, too, paying his respects. This man... His people didn't kill him- he was sure of it. He had a lot to thank this man for. For this man gave him Pan- his Pandora...

"What's wrong dear?" Lottie asked Pan one night as she picked up a few of the Princess' clothes off the ground.

"Nothing," Pan shook her head, setting down her brush. Lottie gave her a look that claimed she wasn't buying it.

Pan sighed, "Trunks is arranged to get married in a few weeks..."

"Oh Dear..." Lottie began gentle, placing a hand on Pan's shoulder.

"And it's only a matter of time before Videl announces that I'll have to marry Uub," Pan said, remembering how her sister-in-law said it would be sometime in the spring. "Trunks is thinking of a way for us to stop the weddings..."

"Princess..."

"You're not going to tell, are you?" Pan looked up at her with wide, dark eyes.

"No," Lottie shook her head as she wrapped Pan up in a hug. "I just want you to be happy... And Trunks," she said, pulling away slightly. "Makes you very happy, that much is obvious. I will help out in any way I possibly can."

"Thanks Lottie," Pan smiled.

"Alright dear, I'll see you in the morning, okay?" Lottie told her before taking the Princesses dirty clothes out for her.

Pan let out a heavy sigh as she turned off her lights and walked over to her bed. She turned on the flashlight Trunks had gotten for her. She looked up at the stars with a small sigh. She hoped more than anything that Trunks would find a solution to their problem and both of her would be able to be together...

"No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is because death is very likely the best invention of life. It's life's chance agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new."
