ok so this chapter Grovyle does confront Eve
But Eve doesn't really want to talk about how her father's gonna die
Who would?
Nothing to do
"Okay" said Grovyle stepping in front of Eve "Time to tell me what's up" he said crossing his arms and looking at Eve. "What are you talking about" Eve said flustered looking away. She knew exactly what Grovyle was talking about but there was no need to tell him, there's nothing he could do. "You know something I don't and you won't tell me" Grovyle said crossly narrowing his eyes "You don't trust me". "That's not true and you know it" Eve snapped "You're the only one I trust" she stated clearly. "Then why won't you tell me" Grovyle asked irritated. "Cause there's nothing you can do" Eve said simply crossing her arms and turning to the side. "Of course I can't do anything when you won't tell me what's wrong" Grovyle reasoned.
"I know for a fact you can't do anything" Eve tilted her head up "Unless your one to break promises" Eve said eyeballing him. "I don't remember making a promise that said you have to be miserable" Grovyle argued. "No, but you did promise you'd do anything to change the world and that means sac-ri-fice" Eve yelled anger blazing in her eyes. "What does that have to do with this" Grovyle asked puzzled. "It has everything to do with it" Eve said turning so her back faced Grovyle. Grovyle calmed himself down before speaking again "You know I don't understand so why don't you just explain" he asked. Eve tilted her head toward the ground and thought for a moment.
Grovyle was her partner and they had agreed to have no secrets when they became partners. Still Eve was a bit more than reluctant to tell Grovyle why she was sad but there was also no reason not to tell him. Eve sighed before turning around to face Grovyle who was waiting patiently for her decision. "Fine" Eve mumbled under her breath but she could already feel tears welling up in her eyes. "They're gonna kill him" Eve said plainly but when she saw the confused look on Grovyle's face she decided to elaborate further. "My father, Dusknoir has him and when we find the last Time Gear and we will, they'll kill him" she explained trying her best not to brake down. "How do you know this" Grovyle asked curiously "Did Dusknoir tell you, you know he can't be trusted".
"Yes I know that" said Eve crossing her arms once more. To think that she would believe that lying, deceitful devil is downright rude. "It just so happens my father told me himself" Eve told him. "Whaaaaaa" Grovyle almost fell over from shock Eve hadn't seen her father for Arceus knows how long. "How could your father of told you if he's locked up" Grovyle reasoned looks like Eve's going crazy again. "It just so happens that my father can use a special type of telepathy that only works when the person you're communicating with is asleep" Eve explained. Grovyle was shocked by all this he hadn't known there was such a thing as this dream telepathy, well now he knew why Eve cried in her sleep sometimes.
Eve leaned forward so her face was right in front of Grovyle's "you don't believe me" it was more a statement than a question. "I-I um" Grovyle stuttered he didn't know what to tell her. Eve rolled her eyes "Seeing is believing for some" she said as she moved Grovyle out of her path with her arm and stalked off down the trail. Grovyle knew Eve wouldn't lie to him but it was hard to believe none the less. Grovyle ran after Eve "Eve wait" Grovyle called but Eve didn't slow down. "I'm sorry" he tried to sound comforting but he wasn't usually one to comfort people. "It doesn't matter" Eve sighed "I expect you to fight your best and my father expects me not to hold back so I will" she finished.
Eve and Grovyle didn't notice as they walked along that the tress were gradually becoming thinner with every stride. The brown rocky trail beneath them was become less rocky and a lot more fine and slowing becoming a lighter shade. Then the trees stopped altogether and a wide spread desert was laid out before the two. "Looks like we're here" Eve said "The Northern Desert". "We better be careful" Grovyle warned "I've heard there's quicksand in this desert". Eve nodded in recognition "Let's hurry" she moved toward the dungeon entrance. The desert dungeon was open to the sky but rock walls closed in around Eve ensuring that you couldn't walk anywhere you wanted.
Grovyle and Eve searched through each level for the stairs that lead further underground or so it seemed and on each the sky was as visible as it had been before. Dungeons are weird like that; Eve found apples in different rooms and some Oran and Pecha berries too. Eve had forgotten to eat that morning and she and Grovyle quickly became hungry thanks to the dungeons affects. Grovyle found a secluded spot where he and Eve rested for a short time and shared two big apples each. Eve never ate more than Grovyle even though she was bigger than he was by almost two times. Eve was quite happy to eat the same as Grovyle she thought it unfair for the bigger person to get more than the smaller person why should they, it just unfair plain and simple. Soon Eve and Grovyle carried on their way through the dungeon keeping a steady yet fast pace due to their impatience and excitement to find the last Time Gear.
