Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight.

"You are so wrong," Edward half whispered and half growled in anger as I found myself flinching in pain over how tight he held me. "Rose didn't do it, not that you ever listened to me."

"Stop," I hissed to him causing Edward to jump in surprise while Emmett mirrored his actions from across the table.

"He says it wasn't her," I managed to say over Edward's ramblings.

"But it was his kid," Emmett replied in a loud voice to drown me out. "Everyone knew it was his kid so this only makes sense."

"It wasn't my kid. How many times do I have to say it? She was screwing that asshole, Paul Lahote," Edward countered back in a loud voice that hurt to hear. "His ex-wife found out and told her parents about her banging her douche bag boss at The Dairy Queen. That's why she was cut off, you fucking idiot."

"He says it wasn't his… It was Paul Lahote," I tried to say, but my words were lost in the screaming match between two brothers who not only couldn't listen, but refused to listen to each other.

"Yeah, sure it was that's why Rosalie told everyone it was his," Emmett scoffed as he waved his hands at me in a dismissive manner.

"That's a fucking lie," Edward shot back as I struggled to find my voice again. "Rose never said a word about me except that she knew what happened."

"If you know all of this then why do you need me?" I asked him as I tried to seek out my escape from the madness that I had stumbled into surrounding the Cullen brothers.

"You said that you can solve this. You told me that you talk to Edward," Emmett explained as Edward continued to roar with injustice dealt out to Rosalie Hale. He was a lost cause to his own anger and it was growing by the moment as the lights flickered around us.

"And he said it wasn't her," I breathed out in a rush as I watched the lights flicker around us. "Listen, I don't know what magic you expected me to do here, but I think we're done."

"You need to talk to him…" Emmett began, but I waved him off once more.

"He's not in the mood to talk," I sputtered as I turned to look at the boy at my side. He was still gritting his teeth as he glared at his brother from across the table. "And he's already told you that it's not her si I don't know what else you need to hear."

"I need to hear how I can prove it," Emmett replied, ignoring what I was saying as I struggled to break free from the hold Edward had upon me so I could leave this place behind.

"Where is my ring?" Edward demanded out of the blue after a long bout of rage filled silence. "I was wearing my class ring that night. I always wore my class ring. Where is it?"

"I don't know how you can prove it when he said she didn't do it," I shot back as I stood up, taking Edward with me.

"You want to prove something, then find my ring, until then leave Bella alone," Edward barked at Emmett, not that he could hear him.

"What happened to Edward's class ring?" I asked, giving Edward the voice he needed.

"His ring?" Emmett asked dumbfounded as Tanya whispered something about the lights flickering.

"Yes, he's asking about it," I continued on as I looked towards Edward who was standing beside me with his hand firmly in mine once more. "Where is it?"

"I was wearing it the night I died," Edward stated again in a soft voice that was raspy with emotion.

"Find the ring and find your killer," I commented in a breathless manner as I tried to keep it together just long enough to make my way out of the shop.

"Where are you going?" Emmett called after me as I walked past him with short steps that were more confident than what I what I felt.

"I'm leaving here," I mumbled as I stopped just long enough to look back at him. It was amazing what a person could see when they actually took the time to look at a person.

The man Emmett Cullen could have grown into was gone. In his place was a shell of a person who was clinging to rage and an over whelming grief that robbed him of his ability to live. I had witness this once or twice before when dealing with spirits, but it never stopped being painful to see.

"What are you doing?" he asked of me as I felt Edward pulling me towards the door. His hand was steady in mine as he guided me out of the room. I wondered how many Sunday afternoons he spent like this with his brother. I counted back in my mind the Sundays that he would come back to me silent and needy. What I had once thought was lazy Sunday nights with a clingy Edward I now could see were actually something completely different. He needed the connection we shared and the peace that came with it after dealing with Tanya and Emmet. It all made some sort of sense now even if nothing else truly did.

"I'm going to do as I said I would without your help," I explained as I felt the slight tug on my hand reminding me it was time to leave this place behind.
