I do not any of the characters or the ideas created by Tite Kubo, however my OC and original storyline belong to me.
This is my first Bleach fic, so PLEASE REVIEW!
Thank you all for your reviews, many of your seem to be Zaraki fans so I'll see how I can use that to my advantage!
Thank you Galasia Kidd for your review, even though the only proper kid Zaraki interacted with was Yachiru, I'll take your word for it.
Thank you Windblade67 for your review. I am surprised to see that you are also a Zaraki fan(I knew you were a Tōshirō fan from your profile). As for captains and zanpakutos, well Delilah will be going through zanpakuto training soon enough. Even though I wouldn't specify in which order, Delilah will benefit from both types of training.
Thank you Sirenightsparrow for your review. Your idea about Delilah and Yachiru being rivals sounds interesting and I may incorporate it depending on whether or not it fits into the storyline. I'm glad you enjoyed the last chapter.
Thank you YandereOtakuSatori for your review. Zaraki has always been outspoken about the laws of nobles and he will be one of the greatest advocates for Delilah's rise to independence from the Ukitakes. I have many ideas going on but I need to plan before they run out of control.
It was roughly half an hour after Delilah had entered the dining room with the captain of squad ten, she had found herself following Byakuya Kuchiki into one of the meeting rooms. She found it quite strange how easily he managed to find his way around Ugendō, but then she realised that he had many decades to learn his way around Jūshirō Ukitake's family home as she was convinced that he must have thrown parties in the past. Yet the one thing which she worried about the most was if her secret relationship with her daddy and Gin had been discovered and also if her third favourite captain or Byakuya would accept her bond with them, as she was sure that he would be one of the first ones to find out.
And from the moment that they entered one of the side rooms, she came face to face with probably the most intriguing captain she had ever lain her eyes upon. He wore the traditional captain's haori of the same styles as both Jūshirō's and Shunsui's. His appeared to be almost skeletal with a skull-like visage. His face was painted white with an inner portion being adorned in black. His eyes were of the colour of gold and his grin seemed to widen just as the two of them had entered the room. His ears seemed to be replace with stubbed golden cones. His fingernails were painted blue. And Delilah was sure that this was that scientist captain which Gin who been almost scared to talk about in detail and the one captain who she had always been incredibly curious about.
"Delilah…I would like to introduce you to…"
Yet before Byakuya could fully finish the introductions, this peculiar looking captain hurried forward and gripped onto her hands, and unlike the urge she had had had with Captain Zaraki, she stayed still and waited.
"At last…after so long…I get to me the lovely Delilah"
His raspy voice and praises caused an embarrassed blush to appear on her face and she remained temporarily tongue tied.
She turned towards Byakuya and saw his calculating face.
"This is…"
But before the black haired captain could respond, the strange looking captain injected once more:
"I am Mayuri Kurotsuchi, the captain of the twelfth division"
He then slowly released her hands and Mayuri turned to Byakuya.
"You can leave us now"
Byakuya frowned and just before he left the room, he turned around and looked at Delilah almost questioning her if she was really comfortable being along with this captain.
For the next few minutes, Delilah noticed that this peculiar looking captain was eyeing her most meticulously and she wondered what exactly was going through his mind. Many of the captains had made their positions on whether or not they believed her to be Jūshirō's property or an individual who deserved to discover the world for herself. She rather hoped that this captain would be one of her allies and not one of those who would disapprove of her eventually breaking away from the Ukitake influence. And her daddy slight indications to gaining the favour of as many captains as possible made her realise that she would be able to enter into the thirteen court guard squads without Jūshirō Ukitake being able to interfere as much as he may have liked.
"So have you tried to sneak out yet?'
Delilah frowned not fully comprehending what this non-human looking captain was asking her.
And then he leaned forward and came very close to her face, repeating his question in a lower tone.
"Have you been successful in sneaking out of the Ukitake compound yet?"
Delilah was evidently tongue tied as she wasn't sure whether answering truthfully would gain his trust or if divulging it would mean that she would get in trouble with her father.
So she chose to stay silent but she was sure that a faint blush had appeared on her face.
Yet the question which he eventually whispered into his ear had made her realise that Mayuri Kurotsuchi was indeed an ally. And her blush had caused her entire face to turn crimson in embarrassment.
"So who is your real daddy?"
….
"Ah…Sōsuke…Gin…come in…come in…"
Even though the entrance the Ukitake compound was on the other side of where the party was being held, Jūshirō's voice has been so incredibly loud that Delilah immediately stopped in her tracks.
"…at last you've arrived…I thought you wouldn't make it in time"
She then saw Captain Kurotsuchi's seemingly lit up and for a brief moment it was almost as if he had read her mind.
"A captain's job is long and tedious…so come in and join the others…"
Delilah's heartbeat was increasing as she couldn't believe that they were actually here.
Then without the slightest hesitation, Delilah turned her back to the squad twelve captain and she left the side room. Meeting the captains had suddenly become irrelevant as she was more concerned with actually seeing her daddy and Gin face to face and make sure that their secret had most defiantly not been discovered. And as she hurried along the corridor, she wasn't aware of the other pair of feet which was following after her. It seemed as if Mayuri Kurotsuchi had followed after her and whether she had given him an answer, he would learn what he wanted to learn, whether she wanted him to or not…
After five minutes of rushing past the servant of Ugendō and seeing a couple of the captains, she found herself crossing into the entrance hall. And once she was close enough, she felt two familiar spiritual pressure signatures and her initial confusion was slowing turning to worry, as she wondered how her two confidants would hid their relationship with her, without alerting Jūshirō.
So she came up to the door and looked through the key hole, as her heart swelled in deep fondness for the two of them, but she waited and soon realised that Mayuri Kurotsuchi was also close by and watching…
"DELILAH…! DELILAH…!"
Delilah suddenly snapped out of daydream, and pushed the door open, contemplating on the possibility that her father had known that she was there all along. And once she had crossed the threshold, she was meet with the warm grinning faces of none other then her daddy and Gin.
She remained as calm as she was able and discreetly, very discreetly, her eyes moved from her father to her daddy and Gin, and through their meek smiles, she was trying to deduce whether or not Jūshirō was still as oblivious as he had always been.
"Delilah…" her father called to her in a jolly tone which it's underlying hint of him reminding her that she was to be obedient and not embarrass her in any sort of way.
"This is Captain Aizen, the leader of the fifth division"
Delilah's eyes fell onto her daddy and her smile grew a little wider, as she stepped forward and eagerly shook hands with him. And Captain Kurotsuchi probably had his answer now.
Once they released each other's hands, her father went only introduce Gin.
"And this Captain Ichimaru, the leader of the third"
And Delilah did even hesitate to shake his hand, as his usual grin was starting to grew wider and wider and wider.
She then looked to her father and then her daddy and Gin, and Jūshirō's blissful complexion didn't alter at all. And as she continued to shake Gin's hand, she realised that her senses were starting to become numbed.
You have done well little Lielee…our secret is safe…
Delilah continued to grip onto his hand.
We can start your training now…
Even thought she had processed the words she heard, it would take her many years to realise that Gin had not spoken those words but rather he had projected them into her mind. And this ability was something that could only be done with her as they shared a bond, a bond which could only be broken with the death of the other.
So Delilah has meet Mayuri (his surname is so tedious to write) and he seems to have realised that Captain Aizen was her daddy. Who knows maybe he's been spying on her when she left Ugendō, and he could have even made sure that she didn't accidentally get caught by the wrong people. Also Aizen and Gin have appeared, and Jūshirō seems just as ignorant of what has been going on behind his back as ever. Fortuantley for Delilah that means she can start her training now and start to reclaim some of that freedom she had whilst her mother was still alive.
I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS CHAPTER AND PLEASE REVIEW, THEY'RE THE ONLY REASON THIS STORY HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SO LONG!
On a side note, I have decided that I am going to take a one or two week break from this story. DO NOT PANIC! I am not giving up on this story but I really need some time to read back over some of my old chapters and start planning the next large segment of this story. From your wonderful reviews and the many ideas I have been having, I need to put it down in writing and reestablish the direction of this story. After all I am half story weaver and half story planner, and so that I don't miss out anything crucial to this story, I have plan.
So thank you all so very much for all of your ongoing support and I'll start posting again in a week or so, when Delilah starts her training and learns what exactly makes her zanpakuto so unique that none other like it have been registered in the soul society before.
Until next time!
