~Chapter 50: The Real Reason~
Alara scratched the back of her head as a frustrated look clouded her face. Her eyes darted between the various items that were spread out on her bed. It wasn't much that she had pulled together, but she felt as if she needed more than what she had. She already knew she was going to have to get more things, but she could push that off for a couple of more days. Her isolation for these last five days was already starting to draw the attention of the others so she was going to need to get out with them for a little bit to make up for it. But it couldn't be helped that she had gotten a couple of more visions that ended up showing more things, and helped to actually push her in the right direction for her to get things ready ahead of time.
'Seriously whatever project you've been working on for these last couple of days has had your mind all locked down. Why won't you let me come over and help you?' Atem questioned for the millionth time it felt that week.
'Like I tell you each time you ask it's something I need to work through on my own. You wouldn't be of much help anyways,' Alara responded trying not to mentally roll her eyes. She made sure as she talked to him that her mind and her thoughts were tightly locked down so nothing would accidentally slip out. Especially if he found out what she knew about he wouldn't be happy at all, and would try to put an immediate stop to it. Of course she wouldn't let him because what she was preparing for was something she was going to have to face, and it was most likely going to be just her. Of course by what she could figure out is if just one of these things happened just like the vision then she would know the truth about them all. Then all of her preparing wouldn't be for nothing, and if it didn't then she could probably find a use for it at another time.
"What the hell?" Alara groaned as she felt a sharp pain in her stomach, but was gone almost instantly the next second. She felt Atem alert to her pain as her block on her mind slipped slightly, but she pulled it back immediately before anything could slip.
'What're you even doing over there, and are you alright? I just felt that small flash of pain.'
'I'm just getting something put together, and I'm fine. It's probably nothing, but a small stomachache coming on.'
'Fine, but if it gets any worse I'm coming right over. You know I can get into your apartment whenever I want.'
'As horrible and criminal as that sounded I know.' Alara gave up on the things in her room as she left it alone until later. She had done just about all that she could for the moment so until something showed up or she got something new she needed she would put it up until later. She needed some time away to do something else.
As the day passed Alara took some time out to mediate, but every time she would find her peace she would be pulled out of it by the pains in her stomach again. She eventually gave up on it not being able to find the peace she needed to work on her gates. Next, she turned to stretching and just some minor training, but again as she did more work the pain kept returning and kept growing stronger. With a sigh of frustration she stopped doing that just convinced that her body was telling her that she just needed to take some time to relax. With a small growl of her stomach she headed to the kitchen to get something to eat just in case she needed to take some Tylenol later to help.
A couple of hours passed and the pain was just not going away, and was starting to make her feel extremely nauseous. As she tried to force herself to relax and take a nap she kept feeling her stomach rolling and twisting. It didn't help that Atem was now hovering over her mind with worry, and she had to keep swatting him away saying he wasn't helping.
'You know what you can barely move without shooting pains, and it's starting to make you feel sick. I'm going to come over there in a few minutes, and take care of you until you start to feel better.'
'I keep telling you I'm fine. It's just a stomach ache, and it could even be possible that I'm catching some kind of cold or something.'
'I don't care I'm still coming so don't you dare move either.' Alara felt a small spark of uneasiness flicker through her as she remembered everything that was still lying out on her bed. With a deep breath so pushed herself off the couch, and stumbled her way towards the bedroom as the pain came rushing back tenfold. By the time she was finally able to get in there a sweat was starting to drip down her face as she pushed through the pain. She threw everything into the large bag that sat on the floor before carrying it to her closet, and throwing it to its hidden area at the back of the closet then dropping a box on top of it.
"Damn it why does this hurt so much," Alara growled as she pushed herself back towards the kitchen. She fell against the wall as her breathes came out in short gasps while she tried to build up the strength to move again. "I have to get to the kitchen…" She weakly pushed off the wall, but only was able to take a couple of stumbling steps before collapsing onto the floor into a ball. The waves of pain were so bad now they were shooting through her entire body, and she didn't even dare to move now as to not aggravate it even more. As her vision began to black out as she saw a small amount of movement, and was actually hoping that Atem had finally showed. At that second she was grateful that he was being so adamant about coming over.
Atem stopped dead in his tracks when he was about half way to Alara's apartment. He had picked up the pace getting over there when he felt her pain leaking through starting to increase. He had originally not used a portal so he gave a little bit more privacy on her part, and he wasn't just randomly popping up in her apartment like usual. Even he was just outside the building when he felt the connection to her die off complete, and he instantly knew that something was wrong.
'ALARA!' he cried out as he rushed up the stairs, but he got no response. What worried him even more was he wasn't even feeling her mind at all now. He tried to go through the door only to find it still locked before he quickly brought up a portal and stepped through.
"Alara," Atem called out, but only received silence in return. He moved further in as he heard loud meowing knowing it was from Nanu. She was normally a quiet cat only crying out if she was hungry, wanted attention, or something was wrong. A small bell jingling signaled Nanu's approach before she rounded the corner darting around Atem's feet before heading back down the hallway. He followed her and was shocked to see Alara at the end of the hallway curled up in ball on the floor. "ALARA!"
Atem dropped to his knees next to her immediately pulling her into his arms and getting no response out of her as he tried to wake her. He let out a curse under his breath that he let her keep him away when he had a feeling something was wrong. He picked her up, and started to carry her over the couch as he let Yugi know what was happening as he was just as worried about her. He replied that he'll be over soon to help out however he can, and hopefully she'll wake up her soon so they can try to figure out the source of this.
"You know it's been a couple of hours now, and I'm starting to wonder if she's not actually sick," Yugi spoke up as he glanced as his phone.
"What do you mean?" Atem asked as he returned from the kitchen with drinks.
"Well she's been passed out for so long, and just looking at her nothing actually seems to be wrong. I mean besides that painful expression she'll randomly get she seems just fine. I'm thinking the pain was from another girl that was about to show up since something like this has been happening with each one."
"That makes complete sense." Atem looked over at Alara as another look of pain flashed across her face, and she started to grab at her stomach before something else caught his eyes. He rushed over as he fought with a fit of coughs from where he started to choke on his drink.
"Are you alright?" Yugi asked in surprise.
"We're not now!" Yugi jumped up to see what was causing him to be so concerned all of sudden, but he stopped immediately as his eyes grew wide to what he was seeing. All he could do was see the dark stain that was starting to spread across Alara's shirt.
"How's that possible? There's no way we were here the whole time…..unless she was really attacked within her mind." Yugi tried to reason out.
"It doesn't matter we've got to stop it right now! Go grab some towels or something so we can put pressure on whatever's bleeding," Atem growled bringing Yugi out of his frozen state. With a nod he darted for her bathroom, and Atem began rolling up her shirt to see what damage had been done to her stomach. It didn't make sense because she wasn't acting like she was at all in pain. He stopped when enough had been revealed, but he just stopped and stared at what he saw in front of him.
"Alright I got two that should be enough," Yugi said as he rushed back in to see Atem in a slightly shocked state. He looked down to get a look of the damage himself, but stopped dead in his tracks confused about what he saw. "What the hell?"
"I don't understand it either," Atem whispered as he gently ran his ran down her undamaged skin. "We both saw the blood start spreading across the shirt, but yet she's doesn't have a single scratch on her."
"What about the shirt?" Atem touched the spot and immediately felt the warm, wet blood, and when he pulled his fingers back they were tinted red.
"It's actually on the shirt."
"Alright that's officially frigging screw up," Yugi huffed out as he dropped to the ground. "She's got to stop scaring us with this crap even if it's not intentionally."
"You're telling me I think one of these days she's going to end up giving me a heart attack. I'm going to assume that was the death of that girl so she should be waking up just about any minute."
"Atem," Yugi whined as his stomach let out a loud and obnoxious growl. "It's been another hour, and she's still not awake. I'm getting hungry you should make something."
"Oh quite your damn whining," Atem snapped as his stomach let out a growl of its own. "Do you not think I'm hungry as well? Besides why the hell do I have to make the food anyways?"
"You basically live here, and I don't so it would be better if you did." Atem let out a snort as he rolled his eyes, and made his way over to the kitchen to look for something to make. He didn't find a whole bunch of things that what make enough for at least three people so he settled on something that would work.
"What're you making?" Yugi asked as he heard the banging of pans and the click of the stove turning on.
"Hamburgers and fries," Atem answered. "It was the only thing that she has that can feed more than at least two people."
"Mmm my favorite." A few minutes later a small noise caught Yugi's attention, and dragged him away from the game he was playing on his phone. He looked back towards Atem, but he kept cooking like he hadn't heard anything. He looked over at Alara to see her face scrunched up before her eyes shot open, and she took in a deep breath as she sat up.
'Oh Atem…'
"Really your less than three frigging feet from me, and you're so lazy you can't open your mouth to speak, but used your mind."
'HEY!...I was just trying to say Alara's awake' Atem whipped around to see her looking straight ahead with a confused look on her face.
"Alara are you okay?" Yugi asked drawing her attention to him.
"Yea, but how the hell did you get in here? You weren't here when I passed out," she said with confusion before noticing Atem looking their direction.
"Well when you passed out I rushed the rest of the way here, and when I found you on the ground in the hallway I called Yugi over," Atem said as he went back to finishing the cooking." Since both of us got hungry from sitting here all day, and whiny pants over there started it I made us all something to eat. I hope you don't mind."
"No that's fine." Alara begin to get lost in her thoughts as everything she just witnessed began to play through again. She couldn't help the smile that pulled at her lips realizing what this meant, but the smile fell as she remembered a truth that was shown to her. She was brought out of her thoughts as she saw the plate that was set down in front of her before Atem sat down next to her.
"So are you going to fill us in on what happened?" he asked before taking a bite of a fry.
"I'm sorry to say, but it's going to have to wait," Alara chuckled before digging into her own food.
"What?" Yugi asked as him and Atem shared a glance.
"For what I've seen, and discovered it's going to have to wait until tomorrow when we tell everyone else."
Alara was slowly pulling her clothes back on after taking a nice long bath, and finish pulling her thoughts together. She stopped to look at her fuzzy reflection before wiping the glass to see a little bit better. She ran her fingers down the scar on her chest as she looked at it with confusion.
'I don't understand,' Alara quietly thought. 'Just about a week ago it was light to medium gray, but now there is barely any color to it at all. Unless you were really looking at it you could basically say it looks like it did after the first time. The only thing is what exactly is causing it to get better while everyone else's doesn't look any worse, but doesn't look any better at the same time.'
'Maybe with the past lives and opening the blocked memories in our mind is helping to clear it up,' Lanea suggested.
'Maybe, but when I let Kimi and the others know I won't have a true explanation to why so we can try to help them.'
'What if there is something that in their own minds that they are struggling with, and the shadows are pulled towards those negative thoughts. Which is then making it concentrate around their items because of that difference of magic on top of what we were already thinking?'
'Wow that would actually make sense and began to explain why this is happening. Even if that's the cause for all of them or it couldn't be, but maybe for just one it doesn't fully explain it.'
'We keep trying to find explanations for everything, but maybe this time it's something that's just happened. I feel as if later on down the road something of this nature that we can't explain will show up again.'
'That's also true,' Alara sighed as she finished in the bathroom before heading towards her bedroom. She was walking through the door to her bedroom, and was immediately grabbed from behind. She started to let out a scream of surprise before a hand wrapped around her mouth.
"Shh it's only me," said a low whisper in her ear before a pair of lips gently pressed her neck.
"Atem you can't do that shit!" Alara said still muffled by his hand.
"Why can't I?" he chuckled sending a shiver down her spine.
"You know that I'm jumpy, and hadn't you said something I probably would have tossed your ass to the ground like last time before attacking."
"Good thing I did speak up then," he said as he nibbled at her ear lobe before tracing his hands lightly across her body.
"Atem…why?" Alara whispered as she already felt herself began to melt into him.
"Hhmm that would be because we haven't had any fun and time alone since we got back. I figured why not now that Yugi's gone back to the shop, and you smell wonderful after your bath." She bit her lip as she tried to decide on if that was such a good idea, but what if he saw the scar and started questioning it. What if….she stopped as she realized that something was missing.
"Where's the puzzle I don't feel it?"
"Already sitting on your bedside table all it needs is the bracelet to join it," he said as his hand slipped between her thighs, and made its way upwards before stopping just below that area. Her breathe hitched as he gently rubbed her leg, and just barely brushed against that sensitive spot just above it. "Come on I can feel you caving in."
Atem gently bit down on her neck, and she let out a surprised gasp before knowing it was all over. She reached up pulling the bracelet off, and her hand fell back to her side where his hand was waiting for it and took the bracelet out of her hand.
"Good girl," Atem whispered as her arm snaked up and around his neck. She grabbed a fistful of hair as a quiet moan escaped into the air. "That's it…" In one swift movement he swept her up into his arms before taking a few short steps to the bed, and dropping her down on it. She glanced up to see him set the bracelet on the table next to the puzzle where the moonlight coming through the window was just barely hitting it making it glisten.

In the next second Atem covered Alara's lips with his own as his hands ran up and down the side of her body. He pressed against her harder as it became more heated and passionate before he hooked his finger under her shirt and began to pull it up. Their kiss only broke for a second while they took in short breathes of air, and he removed the shirt to toss it across the room. His fingers immediately set to work playing with her sensitive nipples and raising them before breaking the kiss to replace his fingers with his lips.
Alara arched her back as she let out a deep sigh. She slowly wove her hands into his soft spikey hair before he lifted his face back up towards hers. They sat there staring into each other's eyes before a gentle smile spread across Atem's face before he placed a gentle kiss on the tip of her nose.
"I don't want to rush or pressure you so if you don't want to that's fine," he said as his smile faded away. Shock flashed across Alara's face that he would stop all of a sudden. With small smile she leaned up to him lightly pressing her lips against his, and immediately feeling him wanting to press back to deepen it.
"Its fine," she whispered making their lips brush as she reached down to the edge of his shirt, and giving it a quick tug signaling she wanted it off. A smirk spread across his lips as he pulled it over his head and tossed it to the ground. Alara traced the lines of his muscles just admiring his body before she placed an ear to his chest, and listened to the soothing deep beats of his heart. She kissed the spot over his heart before replacing her ear to his chest, and looking up to see him looking at her with nothing, but love in his eyes.
Atem lifted her face towards his, and kissed her slowly and deeply as he set to work removing the remainders of both their clothes. When everything now laid on the floor Alara laid back, and made herself comfortable as he settled himself between her legs. He paused as his eyes raked over every inch of her body before locking with her eyes.
'Please don't let him notice the scar,' Alara thought as she suddenly remembered, but she grew confused as he let out a low chuckle. "What?"
"It's just you look just as beautiful as the first time laying out underneath me." Alara felt her face burn hot as she pulled her arms across her chest, and tried to make herself smaller. "Why are you doing that?"
"It's embarrassing," she pouted as he leaned down over her, and she felt him push into her. She let out a small cry of pain, but she was just glad it was as bad as the first time.
"It's embarrassing that I'm admiring the beautiful woman that I have."
"When you stare at me like that when I'm like this."
"I can't help it when I see this true beauty," he sighed as he fully press himself into her, and waited for her to adjust. It only took a few seconds before she wrapped her legs around his waist, and he took the small cue to gently begin moving. In no time he picked up his speed and power in response to her moans and cries of pleasure.
Alara let out a loud cry as he slammed into her deep and hard before continuing a few seconds later. He leaned down to brush his lips against hers, and letting his bangs lightly tickle her face. A small idea popped into his head that he had originally thought of earlier as he slammed hard into her again, and she arched her back pressing her body against his that was just inches above it. Quiet pants filled the air as she gave him a questioning look.
"Why did you stop?"
"I thought about something to try different, but it would be by your choice."
"What?" He pulled himself out as he unwound her legs from his waist.
"Roll over" She did as he said curious to what he was doing. She looked back at him as he pulled her waist up, and setting her up on her hands and knees before pressing himself against her. "This…"
Alara thought about it for a second before nodding her head to go ahead. In one swift motion he pushed himself all the way, and they both let out moans to the similar but different feeling. Wanting to immediately feel more Atem began his fast speed, and continued driving himself off of the pleasure filled sounds coming from her. In no time he began to feel the end of the both of them as she grew tighter, and the tightness began to build in his stomach.
"Atem…"Alara moaned unable to control anything, but just enjoying the feeling of pure bliss of this pleasure.
"I know," he growled as he picked up his speed even faster. It was just a few minutes later as Alara screamed out his name, and he felt the tightening around his member. With just a few more thrusts he pushed into her as deep as he could with a groan of her name as he found his own release. Tired pants filled the air before he pulled out of her, and the both of them collapsed over feeling the exhaustion settling on them.
~End Lemon~
"I'm so tired…" Alara whispered.
"You're telling me," Atem sighed.
"I don't want to move."
"Then don't just sleep and relax." As he watched her doze off with a nod of her head he pulled the blankets up and over them.
The next morning Alara woke as a cold breeze washed over her, and instantly chilling her to the bone. She pull the blankets up and over her noting that she could have sworn she had clothes on when she went to bed. As the memories of last night surfaced a blush began to creep across her face, and she glanced over to see Atem fast asleep. With a quick glance she noted that the blankets had fallen off of him as well like she had been just a minute ago he was fully exposed. With quick work she covered him back up before moving against his warm body to heat herself back up.
"Thanks…" Atem mumbled making her jump.
"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you up."
"No it's fine. It was more of the cold air that was getting to me anyways," he said as a small smirk spread across his face. "I was about to do the same thing before you beat me to it. So what time is it?"
"About ten we should probably get up," Alara said as she looked over at the clock. She felt his arms snake around her before pulling her close against his body, and she couldn't help but be thankful again for that warmth.
"But I'm so comfortable and happy cuddling with you." A vibration filled the air causing a pout to fall onto Atem's face. "I'm going to assume that's Mr. Mother calling to figure out where I'm at."
"Well we do need to meet up so I can tell everyone about what I found out."
"Right," Atem sighed as he sadly crawled out of the bed, and headed towards where his pants got tossed. He pulled his phone out to see he was right as he gathered the rest of his clothes, and begin to pull them on as he answered. "Yes mother?"
"Where the hell are you?"
"Do you always have to ask that every time you wake up and I'm not home?"
"Uh yes I think I will until the day either or both of us move out of here. It doesn't help that grandpa's always worried too."
"I don't see the big deal since you both know the one and only other place I could really be at."
"Well how could I be certain I couldn't contact you mentally…oh wait now I know why if I remember right?"
"Yugi if I'm assuming correctly where your mind is going just stop that's none of your business."
"Well that just proved it I'll see you two in a little bit. BYE!" Atem looked at his phone with a scowl before sticking his tongue out at it.
"You know he can't see you," Alara said as she pulled shirt on.
"Damn you dress fast," Atem said as he looked at her fully dressed. "I only really got to pull my frigging pants on."
"Well when you starting to get into an argument with your mother you kind of did get distracted. Me of course on the other hand was another story," she smirked while crossing her arms.
"Smart ass"
"But you love it," Alara said as she headed out of the room after grabbing the bracelet.
"Sure do," he smirked as he watched her leave.
"STOP IT AND GET DRESS!"
"Alright Alara who'd did you get to meet this time?" Kimi asked as everyone got settled. Since Alara had said she had big news to tell she tried to get as many people there as possible so she didn't have to repeat anything later. Luckily enough no one was truly busy so they had a full party squeezed into the game shop's living room. Alara and Atem were sitting on the love seat, Solomon was in his armchair, Yugi sat on the stairs, Sorran, Kimi, and Tea took the couch, Joey and Tristan had chairs by the doorway to the kitchen, and Moru and Rikku stood by the doorway to the shop.
"The memory that I experienced this time was from Meili during the end of the Ming Dynasty. Although my experience with her was a little bit different from the others. This time she spoke to me before the memory began instead of after, because she didn't want to watch and relive all that much of her final moments. She told me a portion of her general background of her and her family, and the causes that ended up leading up to her death. The only thing she really showed me was the brief moment before her death, and then the death itself. Which also reminds me she's one of the few girls that actually got to live to her sixteen birthday before dying a short time afterwards."
"How long did she make it?" Tea asked.
"Two months, it was longer than the others."
"Hold up a second Alara," Kimi stopped her as she picked up on something. "You keep speaking as if you've talked to more than one girl."
"So you picked up on that," Alara smiled as she looked down. "It wasn't fully individually because most were still rather nervous, but yes I've now spoken and met with every single girl all the way back to Lanea." Shocked looks flickered across everyone's face as the silence filled the room.
"Your chakra?" Moru was the first to speak up.
"Not opened yet, but I feel more of an understanding about all of this. I have answers to question now that we didn't have just a week ago. Even with all of this information in my head I can feel as if there's just one more thing I have to face before that gate will open."
"Then get on with it my girl we must know everything," Solomon said. "We're all here and excited to hear what you've discovered." Alara nodded before taking a deep breath to begin her story.
Alara opened her eyes, and was immediately confused as to why she was in her soul room. She looked around for a clue, but she couldn't see any one in sight. She started to take a few steps forwarded to move deeper in to see if she could find at least Lanea, but a voice stopped her in her tracks.
"Alara" She whipped around to see a new face now in front of her, but couldn't deny that it was another past life. The girl's bright violet eyes that matched a part of her skirt held so much sadness and hurt. Her hair was done up in an elegant up-do with decorative beads hanging down. A white skirt could just barely be seen peeking out from under the violet overlay, and the bright red jacket that was long enough it just barely brushed against the ground.
"Who're you?" Alara questioned gently.
"My name is Meili, and as you can already tell I'm another one of your past lives. Unlike when Rhoslyn and Eliana showed you their memories I wanted to talk to you first before I show you what I can."
"Sure that's fine, but you don't have to push yourself to show me if you don't want to."
"It's alright I can stand showing you what I will, but it will be no more than that and what I tell you. Besides I will be the last for no other girl is willing enough to directly speak out about what has happened to them for most it still pains them too much."
"If you're going to be the last one then how am I going to learn about everyone else?"
"You shall see very soon, but first I must show you my past. My father was the Emperor during the Ming Dynasty, and up until its fall. My father was a great emperor, but the people and other rulers did not think he was fit to rule. My father did try to eliminate the rulers that wished to see him over thrown, and tried to salvage the best that he could. The years of having internal corruption and an empty treasury made it almost impossible for him to find people who were capable enough to run the open posts.
"During my last winter alive we had terrible weather that ended up causing famine, drought, and farmer uprisings come the time to start our harvest. As it continued to grow later in the year the uprising grew worse, and it didn't help that a general had been moving through China conquering it. My father refused to face him properly for he feared that he would be captured, humiliated, and probably executed. Instead he pulled together a feast for the entire imperial household and went mad trying to kill everyone before hanging himself in a tree afterwards. The only one to survive was my older sister, but she lost part of her arm, and then ended up passing on a few years later due to sickness."
Alara felt a shooting pain through her stomach like earlier as a bright light flashed before her eyes. Music and talking filled her ears as she opened her eyes to see she was now in large and greatly decorated dining room. She looked around the room and easily spotted Meili, and another woman who looked just like her that could be easily assumed was her older sister.
Alara moved closer to the woman who were having a happy conversation, and it made her heart hurt that none of them knew about their impending deaths. As if almost on cue a distant shout could be heard silencing all conversations, and drawing everyone's attention to one of the doors. Within a few seconds they were thrown open as the emperor rushed in waving a sword around.
"I SHALL NOT BE RIDICULED AND BROUGHT DOWN LIKE THIS! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BE BORN INTO THIS FAMILY?" the man shouted as he made his way towards his daughters, and taking out every person in his path. Meili and her sister tried to run, but they didn't get far due to their skirts not allowing a lot of mobility.
Meili was the first to be hit as she felt the splitting pain in her stomach, and she cried out as she looked down to see the end of the sword sticking out through her stomach. It was pulled out the next second as she collapsed to the ground, and her sister's scream for her filled the air.
"Run sister," Meili whispered as she pressed her hands against her stomach. Her world faded to darkness quickly as she felt the blood leaking from the wound.
"To be killed by your own flesh and blood," Alara whispered sadly as everything faded away. She waited the few seconds would probably take for her to wake up, but when she blinked she found herself back in her soul room once again. "Wait, why did I come back here again instead of waking up?"
"There are some final things to be discussed." Alara turned around to see Lanea behind her, but something about her was different. She seemed a little brighter and a look of knowing and understanding was on her face.
"Lanea what're you talking about?" As if on cue the lighting around them died away to nothing as spirits began to appear one by one around them. Alara looked at each one in awe as she picked out the various time periods and estimated the ages of each girl. Her eyes fell on familiar faces towards the front of Rhoslyn and Eliana, and Meili now stood just behind them. "What does this mean?"
"It means while not every girl wished to step forward to share their memories directly enough was shown that you have an understanding the sacrifices that have been made throughout the years. It also means that through me you can actually see all of their memories and their lives if you wish."
"So all of your memories of every girl have been unlocked, and you remember everything?"
"Yes," Lanea nodded with a sad smile.
"It's pleasure to finally meet all of you," Alara said as she turned around looking at everyone. "To think that just a short five years ago that I'm almost joined you. Now that the Pharaoh has been awakening instead I can now fight for the sake of all of us, and bring down this great evil that has cursed us. I will make sure and promise that none of yours and my almost death will not be in vain."
"Will you actually be able to defeat him?" Rhoslyn asked. "He is the creator of darkness and the shadow realm himself. He wields great power that could make him undefeatable."
"I know and with each passing day I'm always trying to figure out what I can do to stop him. It's hard now not knowing where they are actually lying in wait. Plus I know I'm strong, but I know I'm nowhere ready just yet, but I feel as if the answer lies with my locked powers. I'll find the answer to finish this one way or another."
"We will stand by you the entire way, because we trust you that you'll end this for good," Eliana nodded. "Once you do you'll set us free and send us into the light right?"
"What do you mean?"
"It's a part of what was still being hidden from us," Lanea sighed. "Something that I didn't realize and no one else did until a few minutes ago." Alara jumped as she watched a glowing transparent chain appear from the bracelet, and shoot through all of the girls around her. It touched every single one of them and connecting them before ending up back at Lanea.
"What is this?" Alara questioned.
"Yes the curse was stopped of every girl dying before or during their sixteenth year when Yugi solved the puzzle, but it didn't break the other part."
"This part can only be broken once Zorc is defeated, and all of our souls are finally released to move on to the afterlife where we can finally rest in peace," Meili said as shock flashed through Alara.
"So that's what you meant Eliana when you said you couldn't find your parents and brother," Alara realized as the young girl nodded sadly. "So then the pictures of everyone on the walls are not only who has passed between me and Lanea, but where you're actually trapped within here."
"Yes," Lanea whispered. The new information whirled through Alara's mind as she pieced everything together, and an overwhelming sadness fell onto her. Within seconds she felt new determination rise in her as she made a decision and promise that should hold onto until the end.
"While I wish I could change and control how this has happened I know there is no way to. You're all free, but yet you're not at the same time as you're chained down to me and the bracelet. Mark my words right here and now I will change this and set everyone free. I may not know the full answers yet, but I will defeat Zorc not only saving the rest of the world, but setting the souls free of everyone that is trapped here."
"You promise you'll do that?" Eliana asked as hoped glistened in her eyes.
"Of course I will until the very end, and everything has been defeated for good."
"Then I think I speak for everyone that we'll stick with you until the very end no matter what. We'll help you with whatever we can that's within our power until then," Rhoslyn nodded and words of agreement echoed through the crowd as the chain connecting them faded away. Not too long later all of the spirits began to fade away, and the light returned revealing that they were still within Alara's soul room.
"I know it's a lot to take in, and add to our already overwhelming plate. But I could feel the hope that sparked through all of them when you promised to release them to the afterlife so they could join their loved ones."
"I know I could feel it too, and I can't wait until that day. That'll be a good and hopefully happy day."
Alara looked around the silent room as the information that she shared sunk in.
"The fact that we didn't know this all along makes me feel terrible," Kimi sighed as her brother and Moru nodded.
"It would have been impossible for you to know really, because technically Lanea didn't know until everyone's memories and past was unlocked to her. It was part of what was being locked within her own mind, and only the other lives knew it technically."
"Even then they couldn't tell me because they were blocked from making contact with me until recently," Lanea added.
"Right so where are we supposed to go from here?" Rikku asked.
"We've already been trying to find a way to get rid of Zorc now we have another reason to push us along. Right now I have to figure out the last thing that's holding me back from this chakra, and that'll put me one step closer to unlocking my full power and ending this for good."
Okay so one I'm super excited for the next chapter because it has a very special scene in it, and I'm can't wait to share it! XD
Anyways onto the important business ATTENTION PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ ME!
Okay due to me working two jobs, and people being out sick and me having to help cover shifts I've had very little time to write. So as of right now you guys are only six chapters away from where I'm currently working and I'm not very comfortable with that. It doesn't give me a lot of wiggle room to work with even though it could be worse. So in attempts to try and make some progress to get ahead I'll be skipping the posting for next week. Hopefully I can get ahead by at least a chapter or two. This may be a one time thing, but it might go for a couple of weeks until I get past some of these tough spots.
So all in all we are probably going to be moving into a every other week posting until I get rather far ahead or get this finished. Which were actually getting fairly close to, but still have a quite a ways to go. So I hope everyone understands and they keep riding through this journey with me! Please don't leave, but be patient for I have no intention of dropping this story until it's finished to the VERY end!
Thanks a lot everyone! If you want more specific updates please like my small FB page where I try to keep things a little more up to date there!
Kiyomi: Until we see everyone in two weeks please favorite/follow/review!
