Hello Friends!
I hope you all had a fabulous week. There is ONE MORE CHAPTER before I go on. Chapter 56 will end on a Sunday and then I will be going on hiatus. I WILL continue writing during the hiatus, but I am going not going to be posting until January 1, 2016. That will be when I post Chapter 57. Please know that I am 100% dedicated to this story. I encourage you all to READ CAREFULLY!
First off, MAJOR thanks to my girls Tina and Sheila - you've both been so helpful!
Now we move into the standard section. If you know this well, then please move on to the WARNINGS and NEED TO KNOW sections below!
~ THIS STORY IS NOT SEXUAL AGE PLAY! The girls are NOT little girls. They are NOT little girls. You can act young without being a little one. I work with twenty seven year old women who have three year old tantrums, on a regular daily basis, because they didn't get their way. They whine and complain and literally throw a tantrum. The girls in this story DO NOT go into a different mind set, they just act like younger girls and in this case, it's only when they need comfort. So let's go with the statement that sex or sexual games will not be used for comfort. I know this isn't making sense, but I don't know how to phrase it any other way.
~ NONE of the girls will have sex with Will or Shelby. The training they have, may result in them having orgasm, but they are NOT HAVING SEX with their Master or Mistress, BECAUSE they call them Mama and Daddy at times. Again, NO SEX between, the pets and the Master/Mistress. Any sex the pets have will be with each other or other members of the circle. Any sex Will and Shelby have, for this story, will be with each other only. For this story, Sex is defined as Consensual meeting of genitalia between two people.
~ THIS STORY IS A/U. Rachel is NOT Shelby's daughter. Again, Rachel is NOT Shelby's child. I WILL put this up in the warnings when the two of them start interacting more. She WILL eventually call her Mama, as the other girls do now, but it's a term of endearment/safety, NOT BECAUSE it's her true mother. Rachel is NOT Shelby's biological child.
~ The four girls did NOT go to school together. Quinn, Brittany, and Santana came to know each other and form a tight trio approximately a year ago. Rachel is slowly integrated into the trio as the story continues.
~ For this story, sexual orientation doesn't matter. Sex is just sex, the story is more about the lifestyle and the relations between the Masters/Mistresses and their pets, and not at all about who they're having sex with.
Need to Know:
~ This story started on a Thursday evening. It is currently Sunday. Three weeks and three days later. As a general reminder to everyone, it took me 16 chapters to write one full week, and I did say the story would be 6 - 8 weeks long. In simple terms it's slow!
~ Flashbacks are in italics and they tell a story! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
~ Rachel has chosen to make herself younger. She is just above baby status under "normal" circumstances, however, at parties, she's as young as Courtney and Mackenzie. It's what's safe for her. I don't think that's changing anytime soon.
~ NONE of the girls are on Parent Time. They have however been shocked into a very uncomfortable place therefore, EVERYONE IS SLIPPING INTO TODDLER HOOD!
~ Rachel has been conditioned for bell tones. All bell tones. This has not and will not change for quite a few chapters.
~ Rachel's previous Sirs are back in jail and have been there for a while now and they aren't thrilled. We are now leading up to a trial! I am asking everyone to live in my world of fantasy law, as I am not well versed in reality law. Suspend what you know and just go with it please.
WARNINGS: READ THIS CAREFULLY!
~ All the girls are flipping out. All the girls are acting as toddlers. THERE WILL BE NO SEX BETWEEN THEM AND ANYONE ELSE UNTIL THEY ARE NO LONGER ACTING LIKE TODDLERS! Again, NO SEX between Faberittana and any other person.
Again, if you have any questions at all, please PM me so I can explain anything you don't understand. I hope you all read and enjoy.
Thanks for reading the story I want to tell.
Be well friends
The rain was still pouring down when the Corcoran/Schuester family woke up late Sunday morning. Santana was still mute for all intents and purposes and she was whining softly because of the pain from her bruise as she kept shifting to find a comfortable position. Rachel was simply mute, but was happy to follow any direction or shake her head at any yes/no question. Quinn and Brittany were seemingly tired, but not difficult to deal with and Will noticed that Shelby looked a little more peaceful than she had the night before.
Will stood up and stretched his body. "Okay my lovely girls, since it's nearly lunch time, why don't we all get up, get dressed, and go out for lunch. We haven't done that yet," he said.
"Ow sigh, Daddy?" Brittany asked yawning and Will and Shelby both perked up. They weren't sure if she was just tired or if she was young like her sisters.
"That's what I was thinking baby, yes," he said calmly and he saw the look on her face. "Bree, talk to me sweetheart, tell me what you're thinking please," he told her and she chewed on her bottom lip a little bit, trying to form her words carefully.
"What if Miss Cora is out there, where ever we go, I mean," she said softly and Shelby felt some relief go through her when she realized that Brittany was her normal "six year old" self.
"Well Miss Cora likes to eat at very snooty places and we don't like going there, so she won't be there," Will said.
"What about the bad men Daddy?" she asked softly.
"The bad men are in jail baby. They are stuck there and not getting out, until it's time for trial and at that point, they only get out to go to the court room and then back to prison. They will be escorted by guards who are heavily armed with guns and lots of bullets," he said kindly, being sure to use words that would reassure her she was safe. "On top of that, there is a woman sitting right over there," he said pointing to Shelby. "Do you know what we sometimes call her?" he asked.
"A Mama Bear," Brittany grinned.
"That's right, and what do you think would happen if anyone tried to touch any of her cubs," he asked her and she grinned brightly and then growled protectively. "Exactly," he smiled. "Now, do you have any other questions?" he asked her.
"What happened to Miss Kate? I don't want her to come and find us," she said honestly.
"Let her try and get to my four cubs," Shelby spoke up. "Bree, come here baby," she told her and Brittany went over to her and Shelby shifted her girls so that Brittany was cuddled up tight against her Mama, her Miss, the lady who swore to protect her in all circumstances. "Bree, I have four girls, whom I love a great deal. Daddy and Mama, your Sir and Miss, we will forever love and protect our girls. That has not changed since the day you came into our lives and if you decide to leave this house and start families of your own, we will still be your Miss and Sir, or Mama and Daddy and your protectors for the rest of your lives," Shelby said and she was very quickly surrounded by both Quinn and Santana as well. They'd heard that speech many days during their visitation when they first joined Will and Shelby and they continued to hear that once they moved in with them. It never changed. It was always the same speech, made with love and conviction and even if it didn't stick, in that moment, every time, the girls believed it. Shelby kissed them all and then spoke gently. "Rae baby, how many cubs do I have?" she asked.
"Four Mama," Rachel said.
"Yes, I do, and how many are with me right now?" she asked.
"Fee, Mama," she said.
"Would you like to come join us?" she asked, and the girls shifted a bit to make room for her. Rachel very carefully crawled over to Shelby and got up to her lap and snuggled in where ever she could fit. Once she was settled, Shelby wrapped her arms carefully around all four of her girls. "I love you all, so very much, but I think maybe Daddy feels left out. Will you all go snuggle with him while Mama gets dressed for the day?" she asked and they all nodded, giving her a kiss and went over to Will, who wrapped his four girls in a very large embrace and kissed each of them.
"You four are the best things to ever happen to me, after Mama," he told them and he noticed they were all starting to look tired again. "What if while Mama gets dressed, Daddy tells a story," he suggested and they all nodded, rested against him, and he heard Shelby go only halfway up the stairs. She was curious to know what story he was going to tell. "Several years ago, in a house much like this one, a man and woman, made a discovery," he started and Shelby sighed. He somehow managed to work their life story into his little stories, every chance he got. She shook her head, rolled her eyes and went upstairs to take a shower and get dressed. She knew this story, she didn't have to listen to details.
"This is very strange," Shelby said, sitting at the island counter of Kelly and Justin's kitchen as the four had just finished a lovely meal together.
"I know it's strange Shel, but just keep reading, keep learning, this may be the path that we need to travel down and at least we won't be traveling alone."
"I think I'm more worried about the riding crops and the leather," Shelby said laughing nervously as she looked over a brochure. Inside the brochure were a large number of paddles, riding crops, dildos, vibrators, and plugs, all listed to bring some version of both pain and pleasure to whomever was using them.
Kelly looked over and smiled. "That's just the toy section, move into the other parts. The parts where it talks about adopting a pet," she smiled.
"Yeah, I don't know about that. That sounds very heavy. To be in control of another person," she said thoughtfully.
"Excuse me, but you are talking to your best friend and we both tried to be mothers. Isn't that the same thing? Being a mother means you're still in charge of another person," Kelly said.
"Yeah, but they grow up and become self sufficient, or at least they are supposed to," Shelby sighed and her heavy sigh and stress faded the second she felt Will wrap her in a hug and Justin moved in to take the same stance with Kelly. Will did it to help Shelby calm. Justin did it, to help Kelly calm as well, but Kelly was ready to start debating and that was something he wanted to avoid.
"It's not something were asking you to jump into with us immediately. That would not be fair," Justin said. "We do however feel that if we explore this together, at least talk to someone, maybe we can figure this out for us. Maybe this is something that would help us all fill that void that we have, as far as wanting children goes," Justin said.
Kelly smiled, leaned forward, took Shelby's hand and spoke kindly. "I don't know how you felt, but when I found out that not only did I have a miscarriage but that I was also not able to ever birth my own children, I was crushed," she said. "It took me weeks to figure out that there was just a different plan for me and I had to research other means of gaining children. In my research, I was at the library and I met this woman. It was all very strange and mysterious and the young man with her called her mom. We talked a little bit about life and I don't know why, but I told her my life story," Kelly explained.
"So she gave you a sex brochure? Kelly, I don't think that's normal," Shelby said.
"You're turning into your mother baby, calm down," Will said kindly and Shelby turned to give him an angry look. In return, he simply kissed her and smiled. "We need to be patient, listen to the whole story," Will told her.
"Look, I don't know any more about this than you do. I do know, that you haven't flipped past page three, and until you flip forward and read more, then we can't discuss this, the way I think we should. You and I were meant to be mothers. The four of us were meant to be parents. I think one of the ways we can accomplish that, at least at this point in time, is to talk to the people in charge of this community, and then we can either walk away and go another route, or we can take it to step three," Kelly said.
"Wait, what was step one and two?" Shelby asked.
"Step one, was me getting this brochure, for reasons that none of us will ever understand. I don't know why she gave it to me, but she did. Step two is giving this to you, so that you can flip past page three, and then we can go talk to her together, if that is what you'd like to do," Kelly said.
"You're in?" Shelby asked. "You're just going to go in and talk to her and you really don't know anything more than what's in this brochure?" she asked in surprise and skepticism. Kelly and Justin were their best friends as far as couples went, and they didn't seem like the type to just jump into something without knowing details. "You told me it took you three weeks to pick out your kitchen countertops when you redid this kitchen two years ago and you just got this brochure last week. It doesn't sound like you," Shelby said as calmly as possible.
"We're up for talking," Justin said before Kelly could jump the gun and say they were in. "We were going to call Sir Miller over the weekend and we though that if you two were into it, then we would like for you to join us," Justin told her.
"I'll flip past page three," Shelby sighed and with a very heavy sigh, she turned the page.
"Daddy?" Quinn asked softly. "What was on page four?" she asked and Will smiled and kissed her temple. She didn't raise her hand when she asked and her voice was extremely soft and quiet. She was feeling little and much younger than six so he proceeded with caution. Santana however, even in her mute state, reached forward, pushed Quinn's arm up in the air, shook it once, and glared at Quinn.
"Hey, hey, hey, we are nice to each other," he said kindly. "Respectful and polite," he explained. "We don't just push people's arms up and glare at them Sanny. We speak gently and explain things," he said and he watched Santana carefully. She took hold of Quinn's hand and carefully drew a question mark in her palm. Then she raised her hand again, held it there and drew the same question mark. Santana was extremely stubborn. "Close enough," Will thought to himself.
Quinn rolled her eyes and raised her hand up a little bit. "What was in the rest of the brochure?" she asked.
"That was very good sweetheart," Will smiled and then turned to Santana. "That was also good communication Sanny, thank you," Will told her. "So, to answer your question, the entire brochure talked about the club that Mister Bruce owns and the different scenes that could be had there. The other part of the brochure described how psychologically, some play could actually be used as therapy and once we read that, we decided that talking to Mister Bruce and Miss Anne would be a good idea," he told them.
"Where did you talk Daddy?" Brittany asked raising her hand.
Shelby paced the floor of the little cafe, burning off her pent up anxiety. "Shel, honey, it's just talking," Kelly tried.
"About a lot of topics that I'm not sure I'm comfortable with," Shelby said.
"Why don't you come sit next to me. We have a lot of questions to ask and I've found that it helps me to write down all my questions ahead of time," Justin offered, trying to help while Will ordered everyone teas, coffees, and hot chocolates. "Come on, you can read over my questions and then add your own to them," Justin offered.
Shelby sat down and looked over his questions, thinking that her friends had been smart and thoughtful with their questions.
How do you gain your clients?
How is it determined that clients need therapy vs. play?
How are the therapists chosen?
She only saw the three questions, but she was sure that those three questions would lead to other questions. "You're shaking," Justin said kindly.
"I'm nervous and cold," she said.
"Honey," Kelly said softly. "Who do you think is going to walk in that door?" Kelly asked knowing that Shelby was rarely cold and rarely this nervous.
"I don't know, maybe a couple of people dressed in nothing but leather who are looking to recruit more people for their occult. I already have three brothers who will not talk to me, because I chose to have him as my husband," she said nodding toward Will who was now waiting on drinks.
"Knowing what you know now, would you do it again?" Justin asked her.
"In a split second," she said honestly, almost offended that he would ask such a question. She loved her husband and she wanted to make him a father.
"So then you have a very good, strong, gut, that you need to listen to. You're cold because they have the air cranked up to polar vortex level and your nervous because this is new. The good news is, you are not alone," Justin told her.
"The better news, is they aren't dressed in leather," Kelly smiled as she watched a sweet couple in their late forties, walk through the door. As if they knew they should, Kelly and Justin stood, and Shelby quickly followed and was joined by Will a split second later and he pulled Shelby close, wrapping an arm low and tight around her waist, knowing that helped her to calm sometimes.
"They look nice," he said.
"We just turned thirty and they look like they could be our very young parents," Shelby said softly as the couple got closer and closer to them.
"We'll just smile and listen if that's all you want to do," Will assured her and in return, she gave him a kiss. He was the best decision she ever made.
"Well, I take it you are are the Summers, and the Corcoran/Schuester families," Bruce smiled and Kelly nodded. "I am Bruce, this is my wife Anne, and it's lovely to meet all of you," he said. "Annie, did you want tea or cocoa?" he asked her kindly.
"Tea's fine please dear," she smiled and Shelby felt her body relax a little bit as Anne sat down and motioned kindly for everyone else to sit.
There was a slightly uncomfortable silence that was interrupted when the phone rang and Anne sighed. "I'm sorry, that's probably one of my children," she said. "Hello? Yes darling, you may. Thank you for calling to ask," she smiled and then there was a bit of a pause. "No my love. We talked about that, before your Sir and I left the house this morning. You are not allowed," she said simply and the other four people at the table smirked a bit when they heard a loud whining voice on the other end of the phone, begging for permission. "No my darling, and you know what your punishment is if you keep pestering me about it," Anne said. Shelby was amazed that her voice was so kind and also so commanding all at the same time. Anne had to be a mother with a voice like that, she was convinced of it. "Yes my darling, I love you too, and the answer is still no. We can talk more about why when I get home, but right now I need to have a very important meeting, so is there anything else we need to discuss?" she asked and after a brief pause, she said I love you and disconnected, just as Bruce arrived. "I'm so sorry about that," she said kindly as she set her phone to vibrate, and then put it out on the table, where it would be in reach if she were needed.
"Honestly Annie, in a meeting?" he asked her.
"I'm sorry," she said. "First of all, we haven't technically started yet. Secondly, if the kids call with an emergency, I want to be reached, and lastly that was Kevin. He is very intent on playing with certain toys in the house, unsupervised, and is whining at me, because I told him no," she said.
Bruce sighed and sat down with a tea for Anne and a hot cocoa for himself. "Well," he said addressing the table. "First I want to thank you for your time, your interest, and this meeting, and secondly I'd like to apologize for our pet. He's a very good boy and he is still new," Bruce said.
"My husband lies. Kevin has been with us for three years now, and I refer to him as my son when I'm out and about with people or company we are not familiar with. He is as much a part of my life, as my children are, it's just a very different relationship. He has just graduated a level and therefore, the newly put in place rules are both challenged and/or not remembered," Anne said.
"And he's your pet Miss?" Shelby asked bravely.
"He is," Anne said proudly. "I have two biological children and a few years ago, my husband and I started a small circle of people into the Dom and Dominatrix life styles. We incorporate as many aspects as we can and we are very big on safety. Everything is done with everyone's safety in mind. When Kevin joined, he had a history, but also a desire, and so slowly we are working on satisfying the desires and accepting the history," Anne explained.
"I don't believe you can just leave baggage at the side of the road somewhere. It always seems to come back and bite you in ass, so I have reached out to several people whom I feel will best help Kevin work through his issues. It's a lot of work, and requires a lot of patience, but there are also many benefits," Bruce smiled.
"Is Kevin very young Miss?" Kelly asked.
"No, not at all. He just turned twenty two. He's been with us for three years now, and knows that he may stay with us for as long or as little as he wishes. Our biological children see him as an adopted son and that's all they need to see him as. They all get along very well when we get together," Anne smiled.
"You talk so highly of him," Justin smiled. "Was it easy to form such a tight relationship?" he asked. "I mean, jumping into a lifestyle immediately, does not sound like the best plan of action, especially if Kevin has a history to still sort through," he reasoned.
"You make a very good point Sir. It's Justin correct?" Bruce asked and Justin smiled and nodded. "So to answer your question, not everything has to be or should be about sex and power. Everything, in every aspect of life, should be in moderation. Kevin has come to learn that with great trust, comes great reward," Bruce smiled.
"That is very vague," Shelby sighed.
"Honey," Will scolded gently.
"No, it's okay Will," Bruce said. "What are you concerned about Shelby?" Bruce asked kindly.
"Everything I know about this lifestyle is all about power and trust, and for someone with a history, I feel that taking away their power, is not the best way to earning their trust," Shelby explained and Will was both surprised and impressed with his wife's demeanor. "Great trust and great reward are both wonderful things, but if you're a person with great trauma or a horrible past, you have to deal with that to get to those parts of great trust and great reward, and I'm very sorry for my bluntness; I just feel that not every great reward should be something sexual."
"She makes you smile with her choice of words?" Anne asked kindly and Will nodded.
"She does," he said. "She makes me smile all the time, and the reason she makes me smile now is because I know how hot blooded my wife can be, and she makes me very proud by staying so calm right now," Will said.
Shelby gave him a grateful smile and didn't notice that Anne and Bruce were giving the same smile. "Well," Bruce smiled. "I'd like to get to know each of you as couples and individually, over time, should you all want the same. I will also tell you Miss Shelby that you are partially correct. A lifestyle such as ours is all about trust and power. The thing I want you to learn as we get to know each other further, is whom holds which," he smiled and the six of them, finished their drinks, and began to get to know each other.
"Mama and I decided in that moment that if nothing else we could use some friends, so we sat there, with Aunt Kelly and Uncle Justin and got to know Mister Bruce and Miss Anne," Will said and all the girls seemed to snuggle in further and relax into him. "And now that Mama's dressed, we can all get dressed and go have lunch," he said noticing that his wife was now downstairs and looking ready to go.
"Mama, you was a bear all the time?" Brittany asked.
"I guess I was," Shelby smiled helping her up to her feet and then holding a hand out to Santana so she could be guided upstairs as well.
"Who was you 'tecting?" Brittany asked and Will's heart sunk a little bit. She just sounded so little.
"Well as it turns out I was protecting the four of you, I just didn't know it yet," she smiled.
"Did Grandpa Joe tell you we were coming?" Brittany asked. She believed in all that higher power, spirituality stuff. It would be really nice to know if her Grandpa saw her and guided her to the right people all those months ago.
"Not at that time, no. He'd already passed away and Mama and Daddy were just learning about everything that could possibly come our way. I did have a dream about him just before you showed up though, so eventually yes, I believe he did," Shelby said.
"Cause you loves us?" she asked hopefully.
"Yes. I love all four of you, with every fiber of my being, and that means, I have to be super protective all the time."
"Mama," Santana said softly as Shelby guided Santana into putting her shoes on. The rest of the family was in the car, in the garage waiting for them, and Santana was the last one to be ready as she was the one begging for the most assistance. Currently she was seated on the small bench near the door, getting ready to go.
"Yes baby?" she asked and Santana just looked at her expectantly. "Sanny baby, you are my love. I have four of them, well five. Santana, Brittany, Quinn, Rachel, and Daddy. The five of you are my loves and that will never change. At the moment, you are all my hungry loves, as am I. So we're all going to get in the car and go to Applebee's, as we discussed," Shelby explained and Santana shook her head no. "Why sweetheart?" she asked. "Talk to me love, it's okay to tell me anything you want to tell me," Shelby said but Santana remained her stoic, stubborn self and didn't say another word. She simply stuck out her sock covered foot, looked at it and then looked at Shelby. "Where are your shoes?" Shelby teased her and Santana grinned. "Okay, so then, Mama will help you put your shoes on and then we'll get in the car and go to lunch with everyone else yes?" she asked and Santana nodded.
"Mama," Santana said softly and she reached forward and hugged her tightly.
"I love you very much sweetheart," she smiled and hugged her tight and rubbed her back. "You are so special to me Sanny, and I love you more than I will ever be able to tell you," she told her and Santana simply nodded. "Now, I know you're maybe a little bit nervous and you don't want to admit it, but the rest of us are very hungry and we don't want to leave you behind, so will you kindly come with us to lunch please?' she asked her and Santana nodded yes. "Thank you baby girl," Shelby said and she helped Santana to the garage and then into the car.
"Hello my loves," Will smiled. "Are we all ready to go?" he asked buckling himself into his seat.
"Daddy must be super hungry," Shelby stage whispered and Santana smiled. Shelby helped Santana into the car and waited for her to buckle herself in. Once she was buckled into her seat, she looked at Will. "Okay, let me see, I think we're all here," she said and she pointed to Will, herself, Brittany, Quinn, Rachel and Santana, with a very sweet smile on her face. "One, five, four, four, three, two," she said and Will rolled his eyes. He knew exactly what she was doing where as the girls thought she was just being silly.
"Mama needs to watch more Sesame Street," Will laughed.
"What?" Shelby asked. "We count like this he said pointing to each person in the car, and spoke kindly, "One, two, three, four, five, six," he told her, and she nodded.
"I thought I said that," she smiled and he nodded at her.
"Well you said something," he said and she leaned over and gave him a kiss. It was an entire conversation with a secret coded language that only they seemed to understand. "Mmmm, can I have you for lunch?" he teased once the kiss broke.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Shelby smiled, shaking her head and with that they went off to lunch. The car was extremely quiet except for some soft music coming from the radio. Will had peaked in the rear view mirror twice to find all the girls stuck in their heads. They all looked scared, or sad, or lost somehow and he wanted to fix them. He wanted to make everything okay, and he knew that before that could happen, it was going to get worse. The girls were going to have to speak to lawyers, they were going to have to be brave nineteen year olds, they were going to have to talk in front of a jury, and they were going to have to face the men who hurt them. Rachel had it the worst, Santana was next in line, and Quinn and Brittany were in a tied position. They had run into the men at the store and were scared, and Brittany had been physically handled by Vincent, but nothing to the point of severe physical injury. As he drove he hoped they were doing the right thing. From now on, the girls were going to have to be pushed outside their comfort zones, slowly and steadily so that when the trial did come to pass, they would be not as scared. He was afraid they would handle it like a six year old, and while that wasn't wrong, in his mind, it wasn't the most effective way to put these men where they belonged for good.
He pulled into the parking lot, turned off the car and got out, opening up the side door for the girls, while Shelby did the same thing on her side of the van. Dual sliding doors were a miracle as far as Will was concerned. However, opening the door, revealed a whole new scene. What were moments ago, calm girls, were now four scared girls, who had no reservations in expressing their fears. "What if we know someone 'side?" Brittany pushed out quickly.
"Such as?" Shelby asked kindly.
"Anyone. Jenna, or Miss Cora, or Mis'er Bruce, or Pop-Pop, or someone we go'ed to school wif, or da people who created us," she said and Rachel quickly looked at Brittany taking her hand and Brittany jumped and then calmed down when she knew it was Rachel.
"Cre-ated?" Rachel pushed out slowly with a lot of confusion and Brittany nodded.
She pointed first to Shelby and then Will. "Miss, Sir," she said and then she pointed again. "Mama, Daddy," she said and Rachel nodded her agreement. "Dey 'tect us," she said softly. "Created is bio-local," she said quickly and then made a face, knowing she said the wrong word.
"Biological," Will offered kindly.
"Yes, dat," Brittany told her her and Rachel nodded her understanding.
"Bree baby, if any of those people are in there, what do you think would happen?" Will asked holding out hand to Quinn to help her out of the van but she shook her head no; she wasn't budging. None of them were, until fears were put to rest.
"Um, I," she said thoughtfully. "I don't know. I don't wanna see dem. I don't wan' dem ta see me. I not 'portant," she said.
"To them," Will told her and Brittany looked puzzled. "You're not important to them, the people you just mentioned, well some of them. To other people you are. To Mama and Daddy you are," he told her.
"That is very true Bree," Shelby said, "In fact it goes for all of my girls. To Mama and Daddy, you four are some of the most important people in our lives and that will be from now until the end of time. I also want to say that I am very proud of you Bree, for voicing your concerns. You make some very valid points, and I'm proud of you for thinking about all the options that are out there. Now I want you to focus on one option. I want you to think about all the times we've gone out of the house as a family. Have we ever met some of the people who gave you life?" she asked.
"No, just Sanny's people," she said sadly.
"And where were we when that happened?" Shelby asked her softly.
"Home," she said simply.
The doorbell rang and Shelby was in the office going over some paperwork for an upcoming client that evening. "I'll get it miss," Santana called out and when she opened the door, there stood a very angry woman, an even angrier man, and in their arms they held a box. "Yeah?" Santana asked them, her mood immediately changing to sour.
"You wanted out, here, this is the rest of your out. Everything else was burned!" the woman said shoving a box into her, so hard that Santana recoiled and was slammed into the wall. The loud noises brought Shelby from her office and she quickly took a hold of Santana, keeping her in a protective embrace.
"Excuse me, who are you, and why are you abusing my daughter?" Shelby asked in her most commanding Mistress voice. Santana was nearly ready to drop to her knees as Shelby spoke.
"Your daughter?" the woman laughed. "Yeah, and I'm Mother Theresa! You didn't have her, you didn't go through hours of labour to get her. You are not her mother! You may be the whore she's sleeping with, but you are not her mother," the woman yelled.
"Well I don't see anyone else claiming her as their daughter, and the people who let her go were fools, so either tell me your business or get out of my house," Shelby said.
"You are not her mother! I am her mother! I raised her. I put a roof over her head, clothes on her back, and got her an education, and this is how she chooses to repay me? By sleeping with another woman and now it's not just another woman, it's someone who is at least twice her age!" the woman shouted and Shelby simply waited for the woman to stop screaming.
"Oh so then you would be the fools who let her go?" she asked, eyeing the woman carefully. "Santana is this your biological mother?" she asked gently and Santana nodded but only slightly.
"Little brat! I taught you better. Speak to her. Answer her question. Tell her that you're the ungrateful little wretch who lived in me for nine months and gave me eighteen years of nothing but hell and attitude !"
"Gee, I wonder where she learned attitude from," Shelby smirked. "Look, you came to do or say something, so get it over and done with, and leave, otherwise, I will call the police to have you escorted off of my property," Shelby said and by this time Quinn and Brittany had come to find out what was going on. They wanted to drag Santana away from Shelby, but they weren't sure that was the best course of action, so they just watched.
"Punta," the gentlemen growled and with that, he walked away, got into the car and laid on the horn waiting for his wife to join him.
"You are nothing but an ungrateful little wretch and I hope you burn in hell, because that is exactly where you are going!" she said and she stormed off. Shelby shut the door and kept Santana very close to her. She had a protective and possessive grip on her wrist and Santana kept staring at it, not sure of what to make of things.
"Sanny baby, let's put this box on the kitchen table and go through it together okay?" Shelby asked kindly. The box seemed to have what would normally be sentimental items in there and she wasn't going to just get rid of it. Santana would have to be the one to make that decision.
"Yeh, yes Miss," Santana said suddenly and she placed the box on the table and took five steps backward.
"Sanny, would you like to go through this box together?" she asked and Santana looked unsure for a moment.
Finally deciding that facing that stupid box was more important than being sad, she nodded and opened it up. Shelby watched as Santana opened the box with trembling hands, unfolding the flaps carefully and then Santana looked inside, to find a stuffed animal she once owned torn into chunks and there was a note attached to what looked like the bear's stomach, right arm, left leg, and one on it's tongue. "What's that Sanny?" Quinn asked startling Santana out of her stupor.
"I used to have this bear when I was little and the people who gave me life just dropped it off," she said, keeping her voice completely steady and Shelby sighed softly. This could get very bad, very quickly.
"What do the notes say?" Quinn asked kindly.
"Um," Santana said softly and she picked up the face. "A serpent's tongue. The snake was evil," she read and then she picked up the stomach. "Once grown in my womb, to show love and devotion. Ripped me to shreds, and now evil only resides."
"Sanny, you don't need to read any more if you don't want to," Shelby offered.
"No, it's fine, it just goes on to say that the legs that carried me should be broken off and this arm is apparently the one I bit off after it fed me," she said. "You can throw it all out Miss. I mean I can. I don't need it," she said.
"That's right, I did meet Sanny's," Shelby started.
"Life people Mama," Brittany said quickly. "But you saved us," she continued and Rachel nodded her agreement. "I don't wanna go in, if any of da scary people are dere please Daddy," Brittany begged and the rest of the girls nodded their agreement.
"Well, I would agree with you on that point, because I wouldn't want to go into that place if those people were there either, however, I am super hungry and we did agree for lunch, so maybe we go in and we stay together, as a family and we just take it one minute at a time. Right now our minute is getting the six of us, into that door, and I think we should go in threes. I think Mama should have two girls and Daddy should have two girls as well," Will said. "This way, if we both are holding on to two of you, you will know for sure that we are not leaving you. We can't walk into the place without our partners and we can't walk out of the place without them either, do you all understand?" he asked kindly and that seemed to be a good solution somehow.
"Daddy? Hole where?" Brittany asked.
"Well I know that when we go shopping in the stores, the place Mama and I like to hold is your wrist, right here," he said demonstrating on Brittany and she smiled.
"Is safe, cause it makes you feels our hearts," Brittany grinned. She was incredibly young, but she seemed to be the only one talking, so Will and Shelby didn't really care. They had expected it actually. These girls had been pretty much contained to the house and people they knew for a while now. Expecting everything to go super smooth while out and about, where anyone could be, was not realistic. Taking their girls out for the first time in a while, was definitely going to be a challenge. Things had to be done slowly.
"That's right, so if we all walk into the restaurant in that manner, holding wrists to be connected together, by our pulse or heart rate, then we should all be safe together, yes?" he asked.
"Okay," Quinn spoke up quickly and she reached forward, took Will's hand and carefully walked out of the car, standing up next to Will, gripping his hand tightly. Rachel seemed to like this, so she very carefully moved out of the van and toward Will. Her knee started to buckle but Will reached out and caught her in time and she sighed.
"It's okay love, I gotcha," he smiled. "Now, very slow," he told her and he helped her out of the van and took her wrist the same as he held Quinn's. "So, if you feel you need to hold on to me for extra support or you want me to hold you for extra support, you just let me know and we'll make sure you're kept stable, okay?" he asked and she nodded at him. "I've got my partners, your turn," he smiled at Shelby.
"Whenever you're ready girls," Shelby said kindly and Brittany moved out of the van and Santana sat looking at Shelby with pure fear in her eyes and Shelby sat down and spoke gently. "Okay Sanny, look at Mama," she said. "When Mama and Daddy make a promise, we keep it, right?" she asked and Santana nodded. "So then, this promise is no different. I don't think there are any scary people in the restaurant that we're about to go into. I don't know for sure, but I'm gong to make the assumption that there are no scary people in there. Maybe some mean ones, or maybe some hungry ones, or maybe some of both. I do know that if there are by any crazy chance some mean people in that restaurant, Daddy and I will protect you," she said. "I also know that if my girls, any of my girls, are nervous to speak their orders to the waiter or waitress, Daddy and I will order for you. I know that we can make up some incredible stories as to why you are not talking and if anyone says anything bad about my girls, they will have my wrath to deal with," Shelby explained.
"Sanny never admits when she's scared," Quinn whispered to Rachel. "Mama just knows us all really well," she said and Rachel grinned and leaned her body into Quinn. Quinn wrapped her in a hug and they continued to watch, both smiling as Santana carefully slipped out of her seat and into Shelby's lap and then out of the van and stood on the pavement, holding Shelby's hand in that very special place.
"You are one of my four brave girls Santana Aurora, and I love you all very much," Shelby told her and with that, they closed up the van, and walked inside the restaurant.
The six of them stood at the hostess stand and a young blonde greeted them and asked how many. Will asked for a table for six people and they were quickly seated, which was only a short walk away. Rachel wobbled a little bit back and forth, but Quinn moved in close and somehow, she was able to help her, while still holding tight to Will's wrist, as he held both of theirs. The table was a small round one, so Shelby sat across from her husband and guided the girls into chair. Santana was to Shelby's right and Brittany was on her left. Rachel took the seat on Will's right and Quinn moved to his left side. It made it easy for a parent to surround two children at a time, because only the heavens knew how calm lunch was going to be. Parents needed to be close. The waitress came over, introduced herself and then asked everyone for their drink order. The girls remained quiet and Will smiled. "Can we have a moment more please?" he asked.
"Of course, let me go deliver my other table their drinks and I'll be right back," she smiled and then she left them alone.
"Okay my girls, either tell me what you'd like, or you may simply point," he told them and they all pointed to the menu, indicating a soda choice. "Okay, so then Daddy will order two cokes, one sprite, one lemonade, and I know Mama likes iced tea, shall I order for her too?" he asked and Brittany smiled and leaned into Shelby for comfort.
"I can order for myself, and I want to help the girls too," she said. "You order for Rae and Quinnie, I will order for Sanny and Bree," she said.
"Well who's going to order for you?" he asked.
"Me, and you will order for yourself too," she said.
"Yes Ma'am," Will said and while Shelby rolled her eyes, the girls giggled. It was very funny to think of Will taking orders from Shelby. The waitress returned and the girls remained quiet while Will and Shelby gave the drink orders.
"Great, I'll be back in a little while for your orders. Would you like any appetizers put in?" she asked.
"Yes please, the spinach dip and two orders of the mozzarella sticks please," he said.
"You got it," she smiled and she left them alone for the time being. Once she was gone, Will spread his menu out over the table and spoke softly to Rachel. "Rae baby, look over the menu and pick out which dish you think you want to try sweetheart," he said kindly and he gave her the chance to browse over the menu. When she looked a bit confused he smiled and spoke kindly. "What are you most in the mood for Rae? See, when Mama comes here she orders their french onion soup. Daddy, Bree and Sanny like burgers and Quinnie likes a variety of things and tries many different dishes, depending on what she's in the mood for. Are you in the mood for something specific?" he asked her and she pursed her lips and twisted them off to the side in thought and Brittany grinned.
"Mama an Grandma Karen make dat face too," she said softly as she smiled.
"Well it's a good thing we know that because it means, Rae is one hundred percent a part of this family," he smiled and Rachel gave a soft smile, glad to be told such lovely things. "I also know three other young ladies who make that face," he smiled and Brittany blushed and leaned into Shelby for comfort. "It's a good thing Bree, it just means you're all right where you're supposed to be," he smiled. "So what do you think you would like sweetheart?" he asked Rachel.
"Sanny an' me get da avocado burger Rae, but you has to like avocados," Brittany offered. "Do you? Like avocados?," she asked and Rachel nodded.
"Well there are four burgers with avocados here baby, and there is a chicken, shrimp and rice dish with them in it as well," Shelby told her and she looked down when she felt Santana grip her hand. "What baby?" she asked and Santana pointed down to the dish Shelby was talking about. "Thank you sweetheart," she said and she flipped Will's menu, so that Rachel could read the description for herself. "Look here honey. You read this and let us know if you'd like this," she said and then she looked at Santana. "Sanny, show me what you want baby," Shelby said kindly and Santana pointed to the avocado burger and Brittany nodded her agreement.
"Me too please Mama," she said softly, leaning in for comfort and Shelby agreed.
"Alright, so then we're having two avocado burgers, one french onion soup and one side caesar salad," Shelby smiled.
"Would you like a gold star for being first?" Will teased her.
"Yes," Shelby smiled and Will rolled his eyes, before focusing in on Quinn. It concerned both Will and Shelby slightly that Quinn was shaking. So many things had gone wrong, and they just didn't feel safe out in the world. Shelby decided to take things upon herself then, and do for her girls, what she knew would at least ease their nerves a little bit. Shelby stood up and when the girls squeaked, Shelby took a deep breath. "Everyone calm, Mama will be right back, you'll see me the whole time," she said and everyone watched her go to the hostess stand and ask for four coloring packets and then she quickly returned. "Everyone is very nervous, so we're going to do, what we do at home when we're nervous," she explained and she gave each of the girls a coloring packet.
Rachel set to work immediately and Will smiled. "Rae sweetheart, let's decide what you want to eat first, then we can color," he told her gently and she paused for a moment, moved things around, and pointed to the Chicken and Shrimp avocado dish that she'd been told about. That seemed like a very safe bet to her. "Thank you for choosing sweetheart," he told her and with a kiss to her temple, he let her go back to coloring. Beneath the table though, he reached his leg out, found Shelby's foot and wrapped his lower legs around it as best he could. He wanted to give his wife praise, and this was how he knew to do that. Speaking anything to her out loud could potentially set the girls off. Santana was already near tears since Shelby had left them. Right now, they just wanted a calm lunch, and then they were going to go back home.
Lunch went surprisingly well and Will and Shelby decided to skip dessert. The girls were doing well, but if they stayed out much longer, someone, if not all four of the girls were going to have a melt down. Will paid the check and then they headed back home. Once there, all the girls went to snuggle on the couch. Lunch wasn't terribly heavy, but they hadn't been sleeping well recently and the rainy weather had enough influence on them, that if they laid down, they could all take a nap. Will and Shelby left the four of them alone and went to the kitchen. She wrapped herself around her husband and gave him a passionate kiss. "I love you," she told him.
"I love you too," Will smiled and then he looked over to the living room and saw their four girls snuggled in a pile on the floor, surrounded by pillows and two blankets. Will took a heavy sigh and then looked at the clock. He had to leave in a few minutes to make his appointment at the boxing ring. "Are you going to be okay alone?" he asked.
"With our children?" Shelby asked raising an eyebrow.
"No, with the zombies," he laughed. "I mean are you okay being alone with them, while I'm gone for a few hours," he said.
"Go to the ring and fight out your aggressions. I have to do homework with Rachel and I'm sure the girls will help me, but you do not leave until you talk to Santana," she said.
"And risk, getting her hysterical? Are you sure?"
"We don't hide our whereabouts from them. She is extremely attached to us and almost mute, however, she deserves to know what's going on and she's the biggest Daddy's girl we have. Go," Shelby told him seriously and she gave him a playful smack on his ass.
Will gave her a kiss to her cheek and then stepped into the family room. "Okay girls, Daddy has to run out to the gym for a little while, can you all be super good girls for Mama?" he asked.
"No," Santana gasped and she stood up and ran to Will and held on tight, climbing up his body as she began crying instantly.
"Ugh, Sanny," he said gently and he sat down and spoke gently to her. "Sanny, I know your scared, but Daddy is coming back and you and Mama and your sisters are all going to be here," he said. "Plus Rae has to do her exercise homework, so maybe while Daddy does his exercise, you can help Rae with hers, can you do that?"
"No, Daddy," Santana begged.
"No? You don't want to help Rae?" he asked her gently.
"Daddy," she cried.
"It's just for a couple of hours baby," he assured her. "I love Mama and you girls much too much to leave you for a long period of time," he told her and she clung to him, shaking, afraid that he was leaving and never coming back. "Okay baby, let's calm down and when I come back, you and I can cuddle," he told her. She didn't quite follow directions though. Instead, she made her body as still and stiff as it could be, to force herself to stop crying, and just held on to Will, terrified to have him go. "It's only a little while Sanny, I promise my love," he told her.
Shelby was watching from the little landing and was quickly hugged by Brittany. "Mama, does Daddy have ta leave?" she asked softly.
"Daddy has to go out to the gym. He's going boxing with Mister George. He will be gone for a few hours and then he will be back sweetheart," Shelby explained.
"I don't want him to go Mama," Brittany whimpered softly.
Shelby took a seat on the little landing that lead into the family room and pulled Brittany down to her lap. "I can't force you Bree, I never will, but I'd love for you to tell me why you don't want Daddy to go," she said.
"Sanny be sad," she said softly and Shelby nodded her agreement.
"Any other reasons?" she asked and Brittany shook her head no, earning herself several tender kisses to her temple. "You're a very good sister Bree, and you make me so proud," Shelby told her lovingly. "Daddy still has to leave and then he'll be back. While he's gone though, we have some things to accomplish. Rae has to do some therapy work, so she's all ready for tomorrow. Do you think you and your sisters can help me with that?" Shelby asked. She felt bad. Brittany had been so good and didn't need a lot of extra attention. Now that Santana and Rachel did though, Brittany reverted to her three year old self; completed by cuddling on her Mama's lap, tucking her ear next to Shelby's shoulder and putting fist to her mouth, tentatively sucking on her thumb and then stopping almost immediately. "I love you Bree. I will love you from now until the end of time my love," she said and Brittany calmed almost immediately, lowering her fist away from her mouth.
Will got Santana slightly calmed and then moved to kiss each of his other girls. Once he did that, he went back to Santana and brought her over to Shelby and Brittany. "Sanny, I love you all very much," he said and then he left, leaving a hysterical Santana in his wake.
Once he was gone, Shelby took a deep breath. Santana was by the door, screaming and howling that she needed her Daddy, but touching the doorknob was too scary. Shelby took a deep breath, kissed the top of Brittany's head and looked at Quinn. "Quinnie baby, can you get me my cell phone please? It's on the little shelf right next to you," she said and Quinn did as asked and moved back to Shelby cuddling into her side and handed over the phone. Shelby cuddled her blonde beauties close, and smiled when Rachel crawled carefully over to Santana, and tried to get close but Santana screamed and pushed Rachel away by pressing her own back up against the door.
"Rae baby, just be careful," Shelby said kindly and then she spoke into the phone. "Hi," she smiled. "Yeah, that's Sanny. Yes please," she smiled. "Great, see you soon," she grinned and then she hung up.
"Mama, who was dat?" Brittany asked softly.
"Mama called over to Miss Alli and Mister Mark, because Mama needs some help. I need to get to all of you and I haven't figured out how to split myself into four pieces, so I decided to call for help," Shelby said.
"You can does that?" Brittany asked.
"Absolutely. In fact, I think not doing it, makes me a hypocrite. Daddy and I always tell you girls that it's okay to ask for help and get reassurance right? So the same goes for us. Mama and Daddy are allowed to ask for help and reassurance too, and sometimes that means we have to call our friends."
"Is we bad helpers?" Brittany asked worriedly.
"Not at all. All four of you are wonderful helpers," Shelby praised, "and if your sisters were closer, they would get kisses too," she said giving one to Brittany and then to Quinn. "And because I want all of you to feel safe, loved, and cared for, and I'm the only parent in the house, I decided to call for some back up," she smiled. "There are a lot of parents in our little protective circle who love all you girls, just as much as Daddy and I do. So when Miss Alli gets here, she's going to sit with you two, and hopefully Sanny and I'm going to help Rae with her exercises and if any of you want to help. you may," Shelby said kindly.
Allison walked in the back door, as instructed, and then went over to hug the girls who were cuddled with Shelby. "Well hello my friends," she smiled. "I haven't seen you in three whole days, how are you?" she asked taking a seat next to Shelby. "Hi Rae," she smiled at her and Rachel simply waved a hello.
"Say hi girls," Shelby pushed gently.
"Hi Miss Alli," Quinn said softly and Brittany quickly followed suit, her voice extremely soft and young that Allison immediately understood why she had been called.
"Well, I know Mama called me because Sanny is very upset, and I know Rae has to do some therapy exercises and your Mama loves you girls so much she didn't want you to feel neglected. I was thinking that maybe we could all go to the kitchen table, so we could still see everyone and color a picture together?" she asked showing them what was officially an adult coloring book.
"Ooh, where did you get that? I like that one," Shelby said honestly.
"Corey and I were at Barnes and Noble and there was a large pile of coloring books. I've never seen books with these types of pictures before, so I bought it. It's very relaxing actually," Allison explained.
"What do you say girls, do you think you can sit at the table with Miss Alli and color while I help Rae and Sanny?" Shelby asked.
"I color Mama," Rachel announced from her spot over with Santana.
"Of course you can color baby. You can color as soon as we finish your homework," Shelby told her.
"No, color now," Rachel said.
"No sweetheart, homework first, then we can color," Shelby said calmly, smiling inside. Rachel was fighting her. She was fighting her for all the wrong reasons but at least she was fighting. Shelby could see from her body language. Rachel thought Santana was in trouble for being so upset that Will left and she was acting as though it were her fault. None of that was true, but Shelby already had one perfectionist daughter, so she knew exactly what she was looking at. It was confirmed by Rachel's next statement.
"No, Mama hold Sanny," she pouted and Allison hid her smile. She saw her own girls do this all the time and it was a good sign that Rachel was doing it too. Shelby also understood that was Rachel was doing this to put herself last on the list. She was doing anything and everything she could to make sure she came last and her newly found sisters didn't resent her taking up a lot of Shelby and Will's time.
"I will absolutely hold Sanny, while we go through your homework and then we can all color with Miss Alli before she goes home to her girls," Shelby explained.
"No," Rachel said shaking her head for extra emphasis.
"Rae, you hassa listen," Brittany scolded.
"Hey, hey, hey, calm down, you don't need to yell at Rae like that. Mama will handle things. Thank you for trying though," she told her. "Tell Rae you are sorry for scolding her. That is not your job," Shelby said.
"I sorries," Brittany said softly.
"I'm sorry Rae," Shelby corrected.
"I sorries Rae," Brittany said and Shelby nodded.
"Good girl. Now, will my two blonde beauties go color with Miss Alli please?" Shelby asked and Quinn moved closer to Shelby, needing a hug and a little extra reassurance while Brittany moved over to Alli for a cuddle as well. "Thank you for coloring with Miss Alli baby, I appreciate your help so much," Shelby told her and Quinn nodded, smiling when Shelby covered her in kisses.
"Alright my loves, shall we go color?" Alli asked and Brittany and Quinn went with her easily and Shelby stood up and moved over to the front door.
"Oh my Sanny," she said gently and she picked her up, causing Santana to scream. "Shhh, shhh, it's just Mama baby, come on. We're going to help Rae with her therapy and Daddy is going to be home very soon," she told her and Santana fell against her Miss and just whimpered softly. She didn't have enough energy to cry any longer. "Okay Rae, come on baby, let's do homework and then we can all go color with Miss Alli," Shelby said, glad that Santana wasn't screaming anymore.
"No, Mama," Rachel pouted.
"I know, it's no fun, but you have to do it, so you get stronger," Shelby said and she sat down, put Santana in her lap and then patted the floor. "Come on, just lay down here for me, and I'll help you as much as you want, but you have to do this today. Tomorrow we go to therapy with Mister Scott and he's going to want to make sure you're doing your homework," Shelby said.
"No Mama," Rachel pouted.
"Why not baby?" she asked her kindly, adjusting Santana to sit in front of her while Shelby wrapped herself around her from behind and was much better able to now assist Rachel.
"No Rae," Rachel told her. "Mama wif Sanny," she said.
"Mama has four girls and right now, Sanny and Rae both need Mama to be with them. Sanny needs comfort and Rae needs guidance if nothing else with her exercises," Shelby told her.
"Sanny cry," Rachel said.
"Yes, Sanny is very sad, but she's going to be okay," Shelby said. "Now, Mama needs Rae to lay down on her back," Shelby said sternly and Rachel pouted. She hadn't meant to anger her Mama, but that was exactly what she did and now she was going to pay the price for it, so she did what she thought was wanted of her. She got down on her hands and knees, turned around, put her head on the floor and her bottom high up in the air, presenting her body.
"No Rachel," Shelby said calmly and she gave Santana a kiss to her cheek and stood up. Then she helped Rachel up and lead her to the kitchen to have her sit in time out.
