Charlene's POV…

As soon as the TARDIS came to a stop, The Doctor grinned at me from where I sat at in the captain seat. "Here we are then, love! Let's see where we ended up! I think you'll enjoy it!"

"I don't doubt it," I told him with a smile as he moved to the TARDIS doors, a bounce in his step. Wherever we were, he was obviously very excited about it.

The Doctor opened the doors but paused, letting out a, "ah."

An amused look crossed my face. "Let me guess … it's turned in the wrong direction, isn't it?"

The Doctor closed the doors and turned around to face me. "Of course not." He scoffed and I gave him a look and he heaved a sigh, "Oh fine! Yes I parked in the wrong direction."

"See? That wasn't so hard to admit, now was it?" I teased.

He faked glared at me, going over to the console. "I'll just turn it back round," he told me simply.

I leaned forward, "Great. I wanna see this great place you took us to." I playfully shoved him on the shoulder. "Get to it, love."

"Why don't you do it?"

"Really?" I squealed, clapping my hands. The Doctor nodded, grinning at my excitement.

He gestured to the console. "The TARDIS is at your command," he said dramatically, still grinning at me.

"As it should be." I winked at him. "Since I will be a better driver than you." He pouted at me.

"Oi! I drive the TARDIS just fine."

"Says the man who parked it the wrong way," I teased again.

The Doctor pouted at me again and I couldn't help but kiss his pout away. I felt him smile against my lips and his hands rested on my hips to drag me to him. Keeping my lips and pressing them more against his, I managed to find the lever to turn around and pulled it down. The TARDIS didn't shake all that much so I was able to keep kissing the Doctor too which was a plus. Once it landed again, the Doctor broke away from my lips and grabbed my hand, a childish look in his eyes, as he grinned at me excitedly.

"Let's take a look now!" he told me.

I laughed as he tugged on my hand towards the TARDIS doors. We opened the doors together.

"Ah!" he said loudly, stepping out of the TARDIS, bringing me along with him since he was holding onto my hand.

I looked around the place we were at, taking notice to this white fense that had a Shanye Ward poster on it, advertising his greatest hits. I went over to get a closer look at it, looking over at the Doctor.

"So, we're in the near future?" I questioned curiously. "Why did you pick here?"

"I had a passing fancy. Only it didn't pass, it stopped."

I went back over to him, grabbing his hand, our fingers curling together like always.

"Follow me," The Doctor told me with a grin as he led me down the street that we were standing on through this normal looking neighborhood. "Now, look up there, Carly." Still grinning, he pointed up with his free hand and I followed his finger, up to the banner that had the words, 'London 2012.'

It was my turn to grin as I laughed excitingly. "No way! Why didn't I think of this, this is great! I always wanted to go to the Olympics!"

The Doctor beamed at me. "Only seems like yesterday a few naked Greeks blokes were tossing a discus about … wrestling each other in the sand with crowds stood about, begging … no, wait a minute." He paused for a moment, "That was Club Med." He joked, laughing at his own joke as he nudged me in the side. I shook my head at him, sniggering under my breath. "Just in time for the opening duo dah – ceremony … tonight, I thought you'd like that."

"I love it," I told him softly. "Really it's great."

He beamed at me some more squeezing my hand before he continued speaking, "Last one they had in London was dynamic. Wembley, 1948. I loved it so much, I went back and watched it all over again. Fella carrying the torch…lovely chap, what was his…?"

I wasn't listening anymore to the Doctor when I noticed this 'Missing' posters tacked onto the lamp post. I let go of his hand to investigate while he carried on obliviously with talking to himself now.

"Mark…? John…? Mark…? Legs like pipe cleaners, but strong as a whippet."

"Doctor—" I called, eyes trained on the Missing posters of kids.

"And in those days, everybody had a tea party to go to."

"Doctor?"

"Did you ever have had one of those little cakes with the crunchy ball bearings on top—"

"Doctor!" I exclaimed louder, looking over at him. He stopped walking and looked over at me. I pointed at the posters. "You really should take a look at this, I think we have another mystery on our hands."

A curious look crossed his face as he slandered over to me. He looked at the posters, reading them.

"What's taking them, do you think?" The Doctor asked. He nodded scanning the street. "Snatching children from a thoroughly ordinary street like this." The wind picked up making it grow colder. "Why's it so cold…? Is something reducing the temperature…?"

I felt the cold too and shivered, rubbing my arms, wishing now that I had brought a coat, but it went away, feeling a coat over me. I didn't have to know it was the Doctor and I slipped my arms into the sleeves, pulling it over me. It was warm and toasty. I crossed my arms, smiling up at the Doctor in thanks. He smiled back at me as he wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me to his side making me feel even warmer. I snuggled against him, looking at the posters.

"It says they all went missing this week," I pointed out. "It must be some sick person to do something like this."

He looked over, considering me. "What makes you think it's a person?"

Before I could answer, I heard the sound of a door opening and I turned to see a woman dumping a recycling sack on the pavement outside her house and hurried back inside, casting furtive looks around her the entire time.

"Whatever it is, it's got the whole street scared to dead," I said to the Doctor, who I didn't know was not there anymore. "Doctor, what—" I turned to see that he was already at the other end of the road and I sighed exasperatingly. "And he tells me not to wander off." I muttered to myself as I hurried down the road to catch up with the Doctor without tripping over the Doctor's coat. How he ran in this thing, I had no idea.

As I hurried down the road, a car – a red mini cooper to be exact – halted to a stop and I stopped to watch curiously as a man named Kel propped his broom up this white van and approached the car.

"There you go," he said. "Fifth today. Not natural, is it?"

"I dunno what happened, I had it serviced less than a month ago."

"Nah, don't even try and explain it, mate. All the cars are doing it. and do you know what? It's bonkers. Bonkers." The driver got out of the car and Kel clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Come on then, pal. I'll help you shift it. Quicker you're on the road, happier you'll be." He pushed on the car from behind, straining, while the driver pushed from the driver's side.

I decided to help. Maybe I could get something out of these guys about what was going on.

"Do you need a hand?" I asked, following as they pushed the car.

"No, we're all right, love," Kel panted out.

"From the way you're panting, I don't think you are," I teased. "Really, I'll help. I'm stronger than I look…trust me." I positioned myself behind the car and gestured for him to move over with my hand. When he did, I helped him push the car. I didn't have to help him for long because the car's engine sprung back to life and I stopped immediately and took a step back. But Kel didn't and he fell over flat on his face. I winced as he stood up and brushed himself off. "Does this happen a lot?" I questioned curiously.

"Cheers mate!" The driver called from inside the car as he drove off.

"Been doing it all week," Kel answered disgruntled.

I realized something. The kids began disappearing this week. I wondered if there was a connection, but I didn't wonder for long because I knew that it was.

"Since those children started going missing?" I asked to see if he saw the connection as well.

He clearly didn't from the look on his face. "Yeah, I s'pose so…"

"Every cars cuts out," Kel was telling me as we walked along together down the road. "The council are going nuts. I mean, they've given this street the works. Renamed it…I've been tarmacking every pot hole." I nodded along as he gestured around the street with a proud look on his face. "Look at that. Beauty, init?

I went to answer but he continued speaking before I could, grinning now.

"Yep! And all that is because that Olympic Torch comes right by the end of this close." He pointed at what he was talking about, "Just down there. Everything's got to be perfect, ain't? Only it ain't."

It was then we came across an old lady. "It takes em while they're playing," she said eerily.

I frowned at her, "What takes them?"

"Danny… Jane…Dale…snatched in a blink of an eye."

Before I could ask what she meant, I heard the Doctor's voice and it sounded pleading. I looked to see that he was backing away from this man who looked like he was ready to beat the Doctor up. I sighed esasperatedly.

"Oh, what's he gone and done now?" I asked myself, shaking my head.

"I'm – I'm a police officer! I've got a badge – and – and a police car…you don't have to get – I can – I can prove it! Just hold on –"The Doctor went to fish for the physhic paper in his pocket. Just as I did, I was the one who had the physhic paper … he must have forgotten to take it out of his coat pocket before putting it around my shoulders.

"We've had plenty of coppers poking around here, and you don't look – or sound – like any of them," the man said roughly.

Since they were near us now, the Doctor pointed at me. "See look! I've got a colleague! Lewis."

I gave the man a policeman-like wink. But the man still didn't look convinced.

"Well, she looks less like a copper than you," he said.

"Well, we may not look it but we are the police," I told him, nodding my head. "'Cept it's the other way around, he's my colleague and he's kind of…" I spun my index finger around my head, making the crazy gesture. "Mad."

The Doctor's mouth dropped and his eyes widened in disbelief at me.

"And he likes to think that he's the boss, but he's not." I showed the physhic paper, moving it around for everyone to see, more specifically the man who was going to beat up my Doctor. "As you can see, I am." I put the paper back in the Doctor's coat pocket, ignoring the look the Doctor was giving me.

"What are you going to do?" A woman asked, joining us.

Before I had time to respond, the old woman spoke up. "The police have knocked on every door – no clues, no leads, nothing."

"Look, kids run off sometimes, all right? That's what kids to do—"

"Dale Hixon in your garden, playing with your Tommy, and then…!" The old woman mimicked something disappearing, "Right in front of me, like he was never there! There's no need to look any further than this street. It's right here among us."

"Okay." I nodded, clearing my throat. "Here's what we should do—"I said at the same time as the Doctor said,

"Why don't we—"

"Why don't we start with him?" Another neighbor interrupted us with a sneer, jabbing a finger in Kel's direction. "There's been all sorts like him in this street, day and night."

"Fixing things for the Olympics!"

"Yeah, and taking an awful long time about it."

"I'm of the opinion that all we've gotta do is just—"The Doctor tried to cut in but he was once again cut off by Kel, this time.

"You don't – what you just said, that's slander!"

"Maybe we should just calm—"But I was cut off too.

"I don't care what it is!" The other neighbor exclaimed, glaring at Kel.

"I think we should just—"Again the Doctor was cut off.

I rolled my eyes exasperatingly. "Would you stop—"

"I want an apology off of her!" Kel said loudly, interrupting me from finishing what I was saying.

"Stop picking on him," The old woman said.

"Yeah, stop picking on me!"

"And stop pretending to be blind! It's evil!"

The other neighbor continued to glare at Kel, "I don't believe in evil."

"Oh no, you just believe in tarmackers with sack loads of kidnapped kiddes in their van—"Kel angrily said.

"Ay, ay, ay, that's not what she's saying."

"Would you stop ganging up on me?!"

"Feeling guilty, are we?" The only neighbor said shrilly.

"FINGERS ON LIPS!" The Doctor shouted over the babble.

He put his finger on his lips and glared at everyone as if daring them to not do the same. I smiled proudly. That's my Doctor, right there. The council worker behind Kel had already obeyed, and after a moment of bewitherment, Kel and Tom's Dad put their fingers on their lips too.

"See told you he was mad but this is why I keep him around," I said brightly, earning a pointed look from the Doctor. My mouth made a 'o' shape, recognizing the look as he wanted me to do the same. I put a finger to my lips. Now everyone had their fingers on their lips and silence fell over us.

The Doctor took this time to speak. "In the last six days, three of your children have been stolen. Snatched out of thin air, right?"

"Er…can I…?" The old woman asked, gesturing to ask permission to take her finger off of her lips. When he motioned her to go ahead, she continued, "Look around you… this was a safe street 'til it came. It's not just a person. I'll say it if no one else will. Maybe you're coppers – maybe you're not. I don't care who you are. Can you please help us?"

As the Doctor told her that we were try to help, I took notice that someone was watching us from a window nearby. It was little girl and she had her hand on the window. I got this really off feeling from that little girl and I continued to stare, trying to figure out why I had this feeling about this girl. The woman – who asked what we were going to do – noticed my staring and she spun around to look up at the window. I frowned as she hurried back inside what was her house. What was that about?
