Previously – Chapter 42

"I still hate you," Samuel said, lowly.

"I know," Dean said.

Dean turned to get on his horse when he was hit from behind. Samuel collided into his back. Dean, dropping his small bag, turned around and wrapped his arms around his brother.

"I love you, Dean," Samuel mumbled into Dean's chest. "Take care."

"You too, Sammy," Dean said. "And nothing foolish."

"I won't," Samuel promised, shaking his head.

"Good."

Dean stepped back and Samuel released his brother. Dean climbed onto the horse. Castiel leaned over and shook hands with John.

"Take care of my son," John said. "Get him better and bring him back home to me."

"I will, Sir," Castiel said. "I promise."

John nodded and they released each others hands.

Dean took a deep breath as he and Sir Castiel rode off the property. He was leaving again. Leaving his family and home, but it wasn't going to be away for long. That he promised.

Chapter 43

Castiel and Dean rode only for two days. It was faster than last journey to Winchester's mannor. They didn't much taking break for resting, just rode and rode. They really wanted to get home soon.

Dean couldn't hold his emotion. What he was going the expect? Would he get well? Freed from those trauma? Would Mr. Singer give him shelter? Was it right to leave Sam and his father? Could he forgive his father? He was not sure. Not for now. All he knew, he couldn't live on that house at the moment. He could only hope, he really got better, and come home soon.

"We are home, Dean..." Sir Castiel's voice jumped him up. He looks towards, and saw a house.

Was that Mr. Singer's house? He didn't recognize it. He barely went out, and he just got out once- when he left the house to run.

Dean smiled. His second home. He nodded and Sir Castiel smiled relived.

"Come on, Dean!" Castiel rode his horse faster to the house.

Dean took his breath and tried to catch.

Bobby Singer was really surprise and confussion with their coming. He was on shooting training in the frontyard, when they passed the gate. At first, he was really glad, Castiel home, but didn't expected Dean to come along with him. He could sense right away, something went wrong.

"Dean?"

Dean looked the oldman nervously. "Sir Bobby..."

"Son...?"

"Uhm can I stay here for awhile, Sir?" he asked nervously.

"Huh?" Bobby stunned. There must be something hapenned that make Deam come back here. He looked to Castiel with curiously.

But Castiel shook his head and got down from his horse. "I'll tell you later...," he whispered.

Bobby got the note. "Aahh! Sure, Sonny! Of course you can stay. This is your home too," Bobby welcomed the boy cheerfully.

Dean sighed relief, and got down.

Bobby pulled the boy to his arms and hugged him tight. "How you doing, boy? You okay?"

Dean nodded in smile, "Yes, Sir, I'm fine, thankyou."

Bobby nooded satisfied, even so clear that the boy was not alright. Well, he had to leave his house again. What happened? What that bastard Wincherters had done? Screw him, if he ever hurt the boy again. But Castiel showed no emotion. Got to be something else. But that could sort later. Now, Dean needed to stay calm, and this was the place.

Bobby let off the hug and starred at the boy. Dean looked much fresher and healthier than the last time he met him. But still there was stressfull in that face. What happened Dean?

"Are you good?" Bobby asked again.

Dean nodded, "Yes, Sir, I'm good. Thankyou."

"Okay, then," Bobby sighed in relief. "Well, come in boy," he embraced dean and lead him to the house.

"But the horse, Sir? Let me take them to the stable..."

"Naah, leave it on Castiel," Bobby replayed.

Dean looked with hesitation to Sir Castiel who's already took the horses to the stable.

"It's okay, Dean, I'll get them. You go in." Castiel nodded with a smile.

Dean just nodded with the order, and got inside with Sir Bobby.

Castiel took a glance to the boy with sympathy. It would be a long road to heal. But hopefully not that long. The boy would get anything he need here. He'll make sure that.

"Ellen! Look, who's here!?" Bobby shouted when they entered the bar.

Ellen was still hands full of serving the guests that didn't quite pay notice. "Yeah? WHO!?" Then she turned his head to see who's coming.

Her jaw dropped with the bright eyes, "DEAAAN!?" Full of relieved she pulled the boy onto her arms, and hugged him tight. "You back, son."

"Uhuk. Yes, Ma'am...,"

But she sensed something. Why would Dean come back? She let off the hug, " Hey, why come back, Dean? Are you okay?" Ellen starred the boy worriedly.

Dean swallowed. Guess, he should ready with the same question.

"Yes, Ma'am, I'm okay, thank you."

"And you come back because...?"

"Because I love staying here...," Dean answered nervously.

Ellen didn't buy it. She looked to Bobby for a story, but he shook his head with 'not now'. She took it right away,

"Naah, forget it," she waved his hands. "Glad to have you back, Dean. I'm so happy." She kissed him on the peek. She loved the boy, and it's like having her own boy home.

Dean smiled nervousely. "Thankyou, Ma'am." He then noticed the unserving tray. "Which table, Ma'am." As he took the tray.

"Wow, what are you doing, son?" Ellen grabbed the tray from Dean's hand.

"Delivering the order...?"

Ellen shook her head. "Not today, Dean. You just got here. You should eat and rest first."

"But, its happy hours, Ma'am. I can help..." Dean looked at the full guests.

Ellen kept refuse, "No, Dean. Bobby, take the boy inside before he's fussing me around."

"But, Ma'am?" Dean tried to insist.

"Dean..., get in the house. Get some rest. Or go meet Lilly..., she missed you so much. Go, play with her, honey..."

"Ma'am..."

"Just do it, Dean!" She's a bit stern now, "Bobby, take the boy out off here!" And she left with the tray.

Bobby nodded, "Okay, boy, you heard her. Let's go out off here..."

Dean could say no more but to follow. He walked out the bar.

"And don't forget to eat, Dean!" They still could hear Ellen shouted, before dissapearing to the house.

"Lilly is in her room, I guess...," Bobby said. "You go meet her, I'll make you and Castiel some dinner."

"I'll help you, Sir...," Dean offered as he didn't feel right to see Sir Bobby making him food, and Sir Castiel putting the horses, and not him. He should be doing that all, not them.

But Sir Bobby shook his head. "No. You go with Lilly, son."

Dean wanted to insiste, but again, he got a stern look that he couldn't objected. "Yes, Sir." With that he went upstair.

Bobby still could see the boy's back as Dean walked up the stairs. He sighed hard. Castiel has to tell everything.

Slowly Dean walked to Lily's room. He had expect to find the girl was playing with her doll. But no, the little girl was napping. He had to smile, with that little innocent face, reminded him so much with Samuel. And he loved them two, he just like having two little siblings now.

Dean noticed the thin blanket was on her waist. He creeped inside and pulled the blanket to his chest, covered her.

But as he walked out,

Kriek...

The floor was krieking where his foot step in. He jumped little and stopped his step.

"D..Deaann?"

Dean bit his lips with the little crack voice.

"Its that you...?"

Dean turned his head and smiled to the little girl. "Yes, Miss, it's me..."

"You came back...?"

Dean nodded and walked back the bed. "Yes, Miss, I'm back."

The little hand reach out for him.

Dean took him and held it tight.

She opened her two hands for an hug. With a smile, Dean hugged her with she's still laid down.

Lilly smiled happily, "Don't go again...ok..."

Dean nodded, "I'm here, Miss. Won't go anywhere."

She smiled, and let off the hug. Slowly she closed her sleepy eyes again.

Dean felt the grip of Lily's hand on him, he knew, she wouldn't let him go.

He sighed, the sat on the floor right beside the bed. He would stayed for a while.

Resting his head on the wall, Dean looked at the angelic face. The gripping hand was still tight. And however he felt safe here. Peacefull. This little house was full of love and warmest. He liked it, he needed it. Maybe he really should come back here to make everything alright again.

"Forgive me, Sam."

He sighed with full of relieveness, and slowly closed his eyes due to tirednes of the long journey home.

It didn't need long for Bobby to have the dinner ready.

"Dean! Dinner's ready. Chow, chow, boy!" Bobby shouted loud that can be heard through the second floor.

No replay. Yet, so silent. He decided to check it up. He had guess the boy was in Lilly's room, playing with her.

Well, he was not all wrong. Dean was there, but not playing. He's sleeping. Sitting on the floor, lean on the wall, with his head fell to the bed beside him. His hand holding on Lilly's hand. Bobby had to smile, melting with the sight.

He was ready to wake the boy up, but as he saw the tiredness washing that face, he had no heart. The boy probabely need to rest a while.

He then took a thin blanket on the rocking chair, and covered the boy with it.

He sighed watching the young face, "What happened to you, son? But whatever it is, you safe here. No one will hurt you again."

He brushed Dean's head fatherly, then stood up and leave the two sleeping peacefully.

Bobby walked back to then kitchen, and saw Castiel just got inside from the stable. He need to ask about Dean now.

"What happened to him?" Bobby asked right away.

Castiel turned his head with the voice. His was too tired to start the conversation after the long journey home, but he knew he couldn't avoid it.

"Where's Dean?" Castiel asked, as he didn't sense the boy apperance.

"Sleeping, at Lilly's room. He's so wasted up."

"Yeah, he bet." Castiel nodded.

"What the hell happened, Cas?" Bobby demanded. He started to lose his patient.

Still no answered. Castiel sat on the chair. Bobby gave him glass of water. He knew Castiel was tired as Dean's, but he couldn't wait any longer. He dyed to know.

"Did the bastard hurt him again?"

Castiel emptied the glass, then he stood, walked to the liquor saving. He took the scotch and filled his glass. He needed this now.

Bobby waited. And now he could read, this wasn't good.

"He did it again, didn't he? That's why you took him back!? SON OF BITCH!" Bobby couldn't hold his anger.

"No, he did not," Castiel stated.

Bobby stunned. "So?" He didn't get it.

"Hey, what is this?" Ellen showed up in the kitchen. Her eyes bumped with only two adult men. "Where's Dean?"

"Sleeping with Lilly," Bobby replayed. "Seperated, of course." He added right away.

"Huh?" Ellen didn't get it at first. "Ah, yeah, of course, what'd you think? We knew Dean..."

"Yea, sorry." Bobby cursed.

"Good," Ellen smiled. Then she turned to Castiel. "Okay, young man, mind to explain why you brought him back? Not that I'm not like it, coz, hell, I love to have him here. But i knew something not right, boy."

"That's what I'm asking, Ellen," Bobby grunted.

Castiel looked to his surrogate parents. They needed an answer. Now, both of them had sat in front of him, ready to listen.

He sighed. "Nope. He didn't hurt him at all, if that what you ask. The fact, that oldman tried his best to make everything right. Made Dean comfort at home. He really want to pay it all. And yea, he did best...

"But...?" Ellen waited.

"That house still not good for him. The memories over the places."

Both Bobby and Ellen bit his lips. They knew what it meant

"That house still taunted him."

Castiel nodded. "It tortured him."

"He spent hell of life in there. Suffered and feared." Bobby could see that.

"No matter how hard John tried to ease that phantom, didn't work. Not, as long as his was still haunted with his own fear to be punished or hell of treatment there. The house still an hell for him," Castiel explained.

"Eight years of a slave, at his own home." Ellen couldn't imagine. "Owh, my poor boy."

"He coulnd't live there." Bobby stated.

"No," Castiel shook his head. "Not at this moment. He need to get out. To get his strenght back. Ease those wounds, the memories, till he's ready to get back."

"Actually, he did try to take it. Facing all his fear, and tried his best to get comfort. And for a while, he did great. BUt something happened..." Castiel paused.

"What happend?" Ellen asked impatient.

"The oversheer, he whipped Dean again, treated him like a slave."

"He did not..." Elled gasped in shock.

"WHAT THE HEELL!? Did John know?" Bobby couldn't hold his anger.

"Not at that moment. He wasn't home. And it happened soo unpredictable, shocked ourselves too. And my fault, I couldn't protect him."

"And what John's reaction?" Bobby asked.

"Bad. That the worst one. Lord Winchester punished the oversheer as hard as they punished the slave. Dean saw it, and that shook him hard, and devistated. We all back to square one. Enough to make Dean needed to get out from that house," Castiel explained.

Both Bobby and Ellen sighed hard. Couldn't believed.

"So..., Dean asked to leave, and come home with me."

"Yea? How's John take it?"

"Hard. But he finally realised, that's what Dean needed. The boy can't live there. He had to admitt it. It's not easy, but he had to let Dean go, for the boy sake, to ease all the wounds."

"And Samuel? That boy couldn't live without Dean." Ellen remembered the little brother who so dependent on Dean.

"Yea..., that was hard too, but he had to take it anyway. They need to seperate for a while."

Ellen bit her lips. "Poor Samuel. It must be hard for him to be seperated again with Dean."

Castiel nodded with a sigh. "It had to be done. Dean need to get out. Heal everything, till he's ready to come home."

Bobby nodded. "He'll get through it. We will make it. He safe here. He'll be okay."

"Yeah, that will do," Ellen nodded.

Castiel smiled full of relieve.

Fo a moment, they were drowned on thier own thought. One thought, Dean. How they sorry about the him. That boy stole their attention and love with his unpleasant and horrible life story. The long suffered of 16 years being a slave and treated worst than animal. No one would believe it, but it happened. And with love they would embrace him. Offered him the love and the normal life he never had. Dean had been a family now, and family would be there for each other.

Ellen wiped her tears. She felt the love for the poor boy.

"Mom?"

Their head whipped to the little voice that entered the kitchen jumped them. They found Lilly with Dean of course. They straight head immedietly.

"Dean...?" Castiel sense the boy's nervous. His gesture were all like used to. Full of fear.

Dean looked at them with nervous eyes. The strange athmosphere vibes in. What are they talking? Did he interuppted?

"Uhm, forgive me..., I didn't mean to interupt," Dean spoke shakingly.

"Mommy, what are you all doing here?" Lilly aske with her curious eyes.

Ellen got up and walked to them, "Nothing, Love." She smiled at Lilly. She then turned to Dean.

"It's alright, Dean." She touched his cheeks, and starred him softly. And she pulled him onto her arms, hugged him warmly.

Dean was a bit shocked. He hesitated to hug back.

"Don't be scared, everything is gonna be okay, Love. You are just gonna be fine. We all love you..."

Dean absorbed the words. Sir Castiel probabely had told them everything. He looked at Sir Bobby and starred him with flat face, couldn't read what the old man think about. He didn't know what to say.

"Forgive me, for this burden..." Dean hoarshed.

"Oh, no, dear...," Ellen let off the hug, and starred the boy softly. "Remember, you are part of this family. And we all love you here. There's nothing to worry now. It's your home too,Dean, we are your family too."

Dean smile relieved. "Thankyou."

Ellen nodded with a smile. She kissed him on cheek.

Dean smile blushing. He then looked at Sir Bobby. Does he mad at him?

But then Sir Bobby nodded, "Yea, it's your home, Dean. You are gonna be safe here. No one will ever hurt you again. Everything gonna fine."

Dean nodded believed. How he was soo grateful met this kind family. Such a loving people. For now, he couldn't ask more.

"Well, okay, let's eat now!" Bobby exclaimed happily.

"Yea, you have to eat, boy," Ellen pulled Dean to sit. "And you too, young man," directed to Castiel.

Castiel just nodded with a smile.

They then sat together, having their early dinner.

"Samuel..., would you come out, please...? Let's have training, boy..." John knocked that big door. He tried so hard to keep his voice low, kept his patient, and kept his anger, even he really want to pull that spoilt boy out of his room.

"NOO! I DON'T WANT TO!" A loud shout came from inside as a replay.

John sighed hard. "Come on, Son. You have to come out. See that beautiful bright sun? It's so perfect for training."

There's no reply.

John still waited. It had been three days, since Dean left. Back as used to be, just two of them. And Samuel still acted like a spoilt brat. He hasn't come out of his room ever since.

'There's no point to come out, coz there's no Dean. I've no friend to talk to, i've no friend to play with', that what Samuel always said.

John tried his best to keep calm, to put his anger down. Now, he was not just doing it for Dean, but also for Samuel. He didn't want to give another wounds to the boy after his brother left. John would make sure everything gonna be fine at home, until Dean's back.

With a sigh, he decided to get in anyway. Fortunately, it unlocked. And he found the boy sat at the edge of window, starring out to the field.

"Hey, Son..., you okay there...?" John asked with a soft voice.

Still no replay.

John sighed. He sat on the chair next to Samuel. Honestly, he felt like loosing his mind. This past month had drained him, sucked him mentally, his strenght, his patient, his pride. He didn't know how would this be last. But he promised, he won't lose it. He made a big-hell no-giant mistake to repair. He had to fix it. This is his redemption, no matter what it takes. He needed to change, for Dean when he's come home. Some day. And he promised to make Dean felt safe at home. He had to canged. For his boys.

"It's beautiful out there, Samuel, we can have training together, maybe shooting or combat...?" John offered softly.

Samuel turned his head slightly, and looked at his father. Something changed. His father didn't as stern as before, and he didn't forcing.

"I want trainig with Dean..."

"Sure, you can do that..., but maybe not at the moment..., after he's home."

"Yea, IF he's home," Samuel stated, with the big if.

"He will, Samuel. This is his home," John for sure.

Samuel bit his lips, then sighed pissed off. "Why did you let him go, Father!? You should say no, you should hold him down!"

"I did, Samuel. Believe me, I did, but that would make him even hurt. I can't do that, Samuel. We can't do that."

Samuel snorted, "You changed, Father. You used to so easy forcing people to do anything as you wanted."

John bit his lips, and nodded calmly, "Yes, that true, I used to force, but now..."

"You can't, coz you've changed," Samuel finished it.

John nodded. "I'm trying. I'm still learning."

Samuel went silent.

"Well, so it's hell of nothing then! I went to find him, risked my life and almost die, but then, when i found him, brought back my brother, you let him go, Father," Samuel went balistic.

John shook his head, "No, son, there's something. I knew everything now. Knew my mistake, knew that I've ruined your brother's life, and I have to fix him."

"By letting him go? And it's not just ruined his life, father, but my life too, father. Its all your fault. I hate you."

John held his breath. Tried to keep it cool and his anger down. He wouldn't lose it.

He nodded. "I know it's all my fault, Samuel, and I knew you probabely hate me. But you are my son, and I'm your father. This is my family, and I want to fix my family, fix my sons, you and Dean. And I hope you could help me."

Samuel bit his lips. He loosen. He knew his father need his help. It's his father, his family, no matter how bad he used to.

"We have to wait till he gets well and come back to this house," John added.

"This house is cursed," Samuel pouted.

"And you both born in this house."

"Bad luck."

John had to smile. "No, not bad luck."

"Believe me, Dean will get better. They are good people, they'll gonna fix your bother, and Dean's gonna be back."

"What if he's not? What if he's not willing to come home?"

"I'm sure, he'll be home. This is his house."

"How sure?"

"100%."

Samuel didn't response.

"And when he's back, you'll gonna teach him how to be a great hunter. You'll be training together. I'm sure you want to teach him, right? You'll be a great hunter, Samuel."

Samuel still hadn't replay. But his father's words had went through his head.

John was still waiting.

"Come on, son, let's have training. Beside, you need to be outside, let the sun washed your skin. I won't let you having this pale skin like a vamp."

"Yea? And you locked me for two weeks, father..." Samuel reminded his father.

"Aah..., yeaa, that's my mistake, forgive me."

Samuel a bit hesitated, but then nodded.

"Okay?" John looked surprised. "We'll training now?" He made sure.

Samuel nodded. And to John suprised, Samuel hugged him tight. It needed a second for him to absorb it, then he felt the love but yet there's a fear of being alone.

John hugged him back tightly. "I'm here, son..., I'm here, i promise everything is gonna be okay. Your brother will be alright. And don't worry, he'll be back, he'll be back."

Samuel nodded in his father's arms. The hug he used rarely have and now he wouldn't let go.

John absorbed them. He loved this feeling. Never thought would be this great. He took a deep breath and kissed Samuel's head, before let off the hug.

"Come, son..." John smiled gladly as he rose up.

Samuel nodded and followed his father out to the wood for hunting training.
