Second to last chapter, I did try to end it but it just wrote itself. I'm also having internet issues so please be patient while I finish this thing. Super sorry it's taken this long guys. The other plot bunnies didn't help. They keep wanting me to write another story for Link and Zelda. I hope you guys like it. It's super long and all in one instead of other chapters.

Fierce deity shook his head again. Link was really being too good, for his own good.

There was only one being, possibly two that could resolve this. Deity stood, decided. Then closing his eyes he teleported.

Bum bada, ba dada, bum bum. La la la laaaaaaaa.

Fierce deity smiled at the familiar song of gerudo valley. Before grimacing as the sand battered at him, stinging his eyes, and the desert dry heat was almost unbearable until he adjusted.

Holding his breath he strode fighting the with the sandstorm the entire way into the spirit oasis, where the sandstorm died off. Fierce turned back at the wall of howling sand. Very very tempted to stick his tongue out at it. But that wasn't why he was here.

Looking around he spitted the sand colossus and started towards that. The cactus sand monsters got close before ducking back under the sand. Even with a quick pace, and long legs it took the better part of an hour to get to the old temple, entering the darken entrance lit by torches Fierce again looked around trying to spot who he had come to find.

A door with bars opened, and two gerudo women came out. They were strong, and tall. Yet Fierce deity topped the two by an extra half foot. This became a disadvantage in smaller spaces.

The one on the left was armed with the double curved swords that the gerudo favored. The other had a spear. The only difference was in clothing, one was wearing green, the other a more orange.

The spear one moved a step closer, while the other guarded the door. Unless, because the bars had slid down after they had entered. Fierce deity had a very strong aversion to barred doors. Even more so to keys that broke after only one use. He should really have his Sheikah teach him how to lock pick and bypass all the hunting for keys.

"State your business and identify yourself stranger. How did you come into our borders?" The green clothed one stated in the musical gerudo language.

Fierce deity smirked, reaching into his pouch and pulling out a large pearl with Din's symbol on it, "I've come to discuss the current hero, regarding a quest of mutual interest. If Din the dancer will see me." He stated calmly, completely at easy with the two warrior women. A hylian man at this point would problem-ly be, well, Fierce deity didn't know but if the carpenters were any indication, in cells at this point.

"Who shall I say is calling?" The spear one said questioned.

"Oni- link, Fierce Deity, is how I am addressed at the moment." Fierce deity answered non-surplussed. He rather enjoyed the gerudo. They were straight to the point. The spear one turned on her heel, the bars lifted and she opened the door, heading inside before the door closed and the bars went down again. Fierce deity had to remind himself that this was by Gerudo fortress. If they hadn't moved most of their resources from the fortes to the oasis they soon would.

Fierce deity watched the curious gaze of the remaining gerudo.

"Want to spar?" He asked casually. The gerudo's eyes lit up. Fierce deity smiled, a little wistfully, they were so young. The gerudo became very excited, "I don't have any keys on me so you can't defeat me to open the door." She pointed out honestly.

"That's fine." Fierce deity agreed, "I was planing on waiting for Din to come out regardless. Could I have a spare sword? I don't want to use this big one for training."

"What big one?" She asked curious.

Fierce deity reached behind his back and pulled out his double helix blade, the blue green and the black sides were suited only for a being of his size. It's blade was as tall as the gerudo was. It was a sword for defeating temple bosses and monsters. Not for sparring with a being shorter then it was.

The gerudo blinked once, realizing why he had asked for a spare sword. "Sure." She pursed her lips, "Might be a little small for your hands though."

"If you'd permit me to use my original form?" Fierce3 deity asked nicely.

She nodded.

Fierce deity concentrated, then instead of a behemoth, that he was turned into a middle aged man. Instead of blond like the hylian were used to, the hair color was a more brown, and the ears were more of a rounded point going a finger-length back. Easy to hide under hair. 1

He wore a green leather tunic, that was padded for added protection, travel boots, pants and a light chain mail over a cream colored tunic. Along with a green cap to finish the ensemble.

"Shield?" He asked. His voice still a commanding regal baritone but now more her size had a distinct playful boyish quality to it.

"Your gonna need it." The gerudo answered grinning, winding up for a spar. Fierce deity pulled his arm around and the shield was attached with thoughtless expertise. Thinking that while not an easy fight would be a good warm up.

"Would you like to attack or defend?" Fierce deity asked politely.

She charged, the ringing of steel on steel was heard across the oasis.

Back in the chamber, the spear gerudo knelt by a pillar of fire. Waiting for Din's mediation to complete. The vibrant red haired girl sat quietly breathing in and out on a rug. After a short while garnet red eyes opened and met with the kneeling gerudo.

The gerudo bowed lower, "Aveil." Came the playful words.

"There is a man here to see you. He brought you this." Aveil held out the pearl. "He said he was Oni-link, and there was something he wanted to discuss with you."

There was a ringing of metal, Din's elegant face turned, Aveil stiffened, "Is there a battle going on?"

Din closed her eyes then opened them, "No." She smiled, then stood, "I think that Fierce deity has just been challenged to a gerudo pile on."

Aveil blinked, "Isn't that a little dangerous for him?"

Din laughed and it was like the sound of chiming bells, "He's having the time of his life. He was a weapons instructor for knights. He loves having students to teach." Din chuckled, meeting Aveil's eyes knowingly, "And you have to admit the home guard was getting a little overconfident and sloppy."

"Gerudo are excellent learners." Aveil agreed with pride.

"Let us go see." Din stood and walked with a dancers unconscious grace to the door, then out the entry into the open sunlight.

Din noticed Aveil frowning at the entrance. "They had to move out where there was more space Aveil." Din answered the question. "He's over there by the fairy fountain."

They made a quick walk over, "Why out side?" Aveil asked keeping at Din's pace. Din answered, "He's not used to the heat, it wears him down. In a closed area he has the advantage all he has to do is wait and swing his sword around if he get's frustrated and he'll hit his target." Din grinned over at Aveil, "He doesn't necessarily like smaller areas though. It's a sportsman. Likes to give his opposition a reasonable chance. It comes back to bite his rear from time to time." Din watched the expression on Aveil's face again, "Did you think he couldn't defeat monster bosses? He got through the cave of ordeals."

"Impressive." Aveil blanched, "And he's fighting our home guard?" Now slightly alarmed.

"He won't hurt them." Din assured, "Just bruises to ensure the lessons will stick. He matches his blade-work with his opponents." Din chuckled again as both noticed a flying leap move, "He also doesn't do very well with multiparty opposites so they are giving him a run for his rupees."

Aveil stood next to Din where they could both see the sand flying. At the moment it was three gerudo against Fierce deity. Who was blocking with his shield more then using the scimitar.

Aveil did a double take at where the panting but recovering gerudo sat. Clearly 'defeated'. Aveil frowned then looked back at the battle, Fierce deity had done gotten in close and had used the non-blade end to hit one of the fighting gerudo in the side. She had wheezed, then took herself off to the side sitting down in the proffered blanket covered sand seat. Aveil noticed that there was a five second delay then the remaining gerudo circled again.

Aveil looked over to Din, but not taking her eyes of the fight. "Why isn't he using the scimitar? He's much better at it then his use of it suggests."

"He was using it wrong." Din answered, also not taking her eyes off the battle, "He's used to a lot more force, and it's a maneuvering weapon. It's meant for blocking and wearing down an opponent not bludgeoning them. A scimitar is a multi-use sword. Good for a little bit of everything. But not for one specific thing consistently. The steel will become weak." Din's eyes tracked Fierce deity's hand. "He thinks he had about three, possible four more blocks before it breaks."

Aveil nodded and tried to look at Fierce deity's scimitar. Training ones she could understand breaking. She had done it a few times herself, but a honed blade? Granted he had been using it incorrectly as Din had said then it would have gotten weaker with each strike, but if you could adjust by using a different part of the blade.

Fierce deity struck, smacking a scimitar out of one gerudo's hand, she trotted to the blankets, bracing her hand with another.

Fierce deity raised his sword again, legs braced, and scimitar held in front of him in a two handed fashion.

The gerudo waited, then attacked. Launching herself at the Fierce deity. He released one hand off the sword, and caught her blade with his shield, then swung his blade at her exposed side, twisting it to the flat instead of the sharp end. It hit, then shattered on contact, it was a clean break. The gerudo bowed in respect, and Fierce deity also bowed thought not as low, and turned giving the same bow to the group he had fought. Then bent down and picked up the smaller piece, and the bigger one.

Din waved them to go into the fairy fountain. While the fairy water could restore physical health, mental and emotional as well if required. It did nothing for exhaustion. For that sleep was required. Along with food.

Possibly milk too.

Din walked over to Fierce deity who came back up. Holding the broken scimitar. Aveil held out her hand for it, and Fierce deity obediently handed it over. "Sorry Din. I didn't mean to break it."

Din lifted a eyebrow in mock affront. "Well what did you expect when you started sparring with one of my gerudo. Naturally they all want to join in."

Fierce deity rubbed the back of his head. "Yea." He admitted. The gesture made him seem far younger then he was. "I guess I did bring that upon myself."

Din chuckled, then waved Aviel off, "Make sure Veritas' hand heals correctly." Aveil nodded then walked into the fairy fountain to attend the other gerudo that had been injured lightly.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" Din asked. "The pearl was quite the gift."

"Do you remember how shadow link was in the water temple?" Fierce deity asked.

"Yes." Din nodded. Not seeing where he wanted to go with this.

"You could reverse that couldn't you?" Fierce deity asked intently.

"You want a potion? Why?" Din asked suspiciously.

"My grandson is acting too much like a hero." Fierce deity sighed, "I have no opposition to such a worthy endeavor, but it's causing him, and his family a lot of strife. I want him and Zelda happy and together." Fierce deity stated.

"And how will shadow link help with that?" Din questioned.

"Shadow link, or dark link, what ever you want to call him, is my grandson's suppressed emotion. I want to release that." Fierce deity explained.

"You want your grandson to be emotional?" Din asked.

"I want my grandson to be in touch with the feelings he's been suppressing. The tip-toeing cutesy love is one thing." Fierce deity rolled his eyes.

"So no more puppy love only a torrid love affair?" Din teased. Fierce deity's ear tips turned a little pink. She took mercy on him, "I admit that I'm very direct. I don't have the layers of planning that you and your wife do."

"They are already married, them walking up in the same bed isn't necessarily wrong." Fierce deity pointed out.

"Wait are you blushing?" Din peered closer at Oni-link face.

"Din." Fierce deity answered in a flat dangerous, slightly strained tone.

"All right I'll drop that." Din leaned away, she tapped her chin, "Tell you what I'll get Kotome and Kotake to brew you a potion, on the condition that, you drink one too."

"If you want me to get back with Na-?" He pulled his lips together, and growled out, "I've been trying." Fierce deity stated, sadly and frustrated.

"It's a different potion that you'll be drinking and no I won't tell you what it is." Din set her hands on her hips, "You might be tired of all the tip-toeing cows eyes that Link and Zelda are making to each other, but I'm sick of you and my sister not being together. You are both miserable. Raven and Farore are happily together."

Fierce deity considered it, "Any harmful effects? Nothing that would disrespect or damage my dignity?"

"Nothing more then what you've already done to yourself." Din rolled her eyes at his expression, "You will be physically and mentally fine." What I won't tell you is that I'm going to spike my sisters drink and lock you both in a room.

Fierce deity nodded, a little worried, "Alright I trust you Din."

Din nodded, "So," She pulled out a check book, "That will be one instant dark link potion and one mystery potion for you."

"Don't tell me your going to make me pay for it."

Din had gone to Kotume and Kotake shortly after. Luckily the witches had already had the foresight to brew both potions. Din picked up the blue one, swirling the bottle to notice all the little flecks in it. It was a good plan. First she'd get Fierce Deity and Nayru to drink there's. Nayru would attend a party, even if was duller then the dullest sleep inducing story ever, Luckily for Din. She smiled, Skyloft was just above Termina at the time. It would be easy, after Nayru feel asleep listening to the story of the giants, Din would just casually teleport her up to Skyloft. Thereby summoning Fierce deity, having him drink the power suppression potion, and then they'd both wake up and have to try and get down. Meaning-

Din beamed at the image in her mind, and anyone who saw her that she was crazy or a maniac, -they would have to work together to get down. Having to spend time with each other as they were before and not as the whatever hylands and sheikah called them, they were now.

Din felt the summons, and teleported over to Termina by the clock tower. Opening the door, she spied the carpenters rushing around getting nothing done, the dogs and deku shrubs. The daily hub-bub that was life in clock town. Din raced over to the stock pot in, looking though a window to see Nayru dozing off. Din raced to the door, and fining it locked, quietly set it on fire.

Disintegrating the door. Who needed dungeon keys when you could just take down the door? Had the entire map and compass layout. Din quietly extinguished the flames. Then entered. Coming over to Nayru, more like the disembodied blue flickering light ghost that looked very similar to a fairy, thank heaven it wasn't Navi. Thought Nayru looked like a blue version of Navi without the wings or the very annoying, 'listen' thing. Din cast a spell and teleported Nayru up into the sky castle. Skyloft.

Done with her errand, she snuck out, feeling her eye lids begin to get heavy with the droning story of the giants. Din with a last burst of energy flung herself out of the inn. Her eyes immediately clearing, and got lighter as she was able to get away from the droning voice. She stared around as whatever she was one slowly gave way. Din looked around to see the wall, that she was on, on the ground. She looked around wondering if anyone had seen her do such a thing. Then embarrassed instead of running away, she teleported. Using one of the owls.

Din landed and was buffeted by winds, she plunked down on her rear end and waited for the winds to stop. Hiding behind a wall wasn't beneath her dignity. Since the alternative was getting pushed off into the very vast area of empty air below, the land far, faaaaaarr underneath.

Din catching her breath, and huddled behind a stone wall to buffet the wind, mentally summoned Fierce deity.

Who after a long minute appeared via shot by cannon. Appearing from the sky in an arch.

He looked around, "Why are we here?"

Din shrugged, "Because it where I decided to have my plan." She handed Fierce deity the bottle with the blue liquid. Along with a piece of paper. Din waited and Fierce deity looked at the potion dubiously. Then looked back at Din, "What about my grandson?"

"That requires my full attention." Din beamed, "You don't." Free as the winds the were buffeting the two, "Once you start fiddling with people's dark sides a steady hand is required to keep them out of trouble." Din's eyes danced, "I'll take care of Link and Zelda. You drink that and find the answers to my puzzle."

Fierce deity looked worried, "Somehow that doesn't make me feel any better. In fact it just makes me more worried." But true to form, he pulled the stopper out of the bottle and drained it in a few gulps.

Din clapped her hands delightedly. Fierce deity stared at her, then hiccuped. Before covering his mouth. "I'm going to help Link and Zelda now. Oh, before I forget." Din made a hand motion, "There you go. Outfitted like Raven was when he was in the era of twilight princess."

Something clicked in Fierce deity's mind, "Wait twilight princess?"

"Bye!" Din teleported.

"Din wait!" But she was gone. Fierce deity looked around, he really hopped he didn't have to fight that twili-dragon thing.

Din dropped back into the undercurrent of where she and he sisters sometimes lived. Then cheerfully went into her room knelt down by her bed and started pulling out objects from under her bed, scimitars, a trident of power, "I wondered where I put that." Din then tossed it across the room, pendents of power, lots of broken keys. An old paint smelling bracelet, Din reached under her bed again, pulling out a bottle, she stared at it, "Why do I have hatched zora eggs under here?" Din shrugged, adding it to the growing pile, before pulling out the rod of seasons, a brick from the black tower, then another brick from Gannon's tower. Din felt something move and she pulled that out, "You." she growled at the small red boat, that had caused her so much aggravation. It was roasted in her hand and was reduced into cinders. "Demented creepy boat." Din growled. A wind baton waker was pulled out after. Along with a fairy ocarina.

Din tossed that backwards as well. Sitting away from the bed, "I really have to clean this out more often."

"Hey!"

Din turned, and Farore came into the room, grabbing the fairy ocarina, "This is mine! Where did you get it? I thought I had lost it."

Din shrugged, "One of the evil kings, took it from a hero and he gave it to me." Din gave a silly expression, "And you know I can't resist gifts."

Farore sighed and started poking around the pile of assorted things, "What are you looking for? I live in a tree and it's not this bad."

"If you want to know, I've put Fierce deity and are lovely sister in the sky castle. So they can sort out their directness."

"I'd imagine that didn't work very well."

"It did actually." Din was rather proud of herself. "I got Nayru after the story of the giants, the one that puts everyone to sleep, and Fierce deity drank a potion that negates their powers until they need them in defense of the other."

"How." Farore was incredulous, "Did you get him to drink it? The two have been at each other throats for ages."

"Since I don't know what started the fight, I figured some quality time wouldn't hurt. For the first question. He came to me about this whole blown out thing with Link and Zelda. He wants them back together too." Din got a mischievous look on her face.

Farore shared the smile, "Naturally you used it to twist to your advance and let the rest of us get some peace up here."

"Yep."

Farore shifted, picking through the pile, "What did he trade you?"

"I'm looking for my potion that unlocks, short version. You know how Gannon got a hold of Raven's dark side?"

Farore eyes darkened, "Yes." She said slowly.

"I'm strong to find that potion so I can alter it, and have Link's emotions come out. He's like Nayru, too restrained."

Farore sighed then slumped in her seat. "I see your point." She thought about it, "First you'd need the water medallion, that reveals true, or hidden self, then the sheikah eye of truth."

Din dove under the bed, Farore looked a little alarmed as a harp was flung away it's notes plunking against silver rupees, then a picory blade, Farore snatched that from the air, a deku shield, Farore didn't want to know where the red boxing gloves had come from. A giant maku seed, Farore pocketed that for later. A bag with strange seeds in it, Farore also took that, was her's originally. Evil kings and villeins really did like to take a hero's things.

Farore left the thunder drum, along with the pendent of power, that was tied to a pirates charm. Farore wondered if that was a new type of gossip stone.

"Found it!" Din crawled out from under her bed, slightly sandy. Din handed Farore the blue sage medallion, and brushed herself off. Absently plucking out the eye of truth from the pile. Farore stared at it. She hadn't seen Din throw that one across the room.

"Din." Farore called getting Din's attention.

"You should really clean under your bed every century or so."

Din shrugged, "I tired but I just got lost in there."

Farore sighed. "At least now I know why the gerudo dissappered between one game and the next."

Din not one to be deterred, "So what else do you need?"

"Just the potion." Farore said teasingly.

"Yea." Din looked around, "That, I can't seem to find, and Kotome and Kotake say they gave it to me already."

Faroe shook her head a bit annoyed, "It's on the shelf right by your bed. Don't you put things there that you won't forget them?"

Din laughed, then walked over picked up the potion and handed it to Farore, "Yet it seems I always do."

Farore shook her head, "So we just," She set the potion bottle with the liquid on a table. Then set the water medallion on it's side, the biggest part facing the potion. Once it was stable, Farore set the eye of truth by the medallion so the three items were in a line, potion, medallion and eye of truth. Farore looked over at Din, "Would you mind?"

"Not at all." Din summoned a small flame of power, and set it close to the eye of truth. The light went through the lens, and was starting to heat up and cause the medallion to glow. As it it the blue glow rested on the liquid in the bottle, and it slowly started to change it's chemistry and color.

"So tell me again why this works?" Din asked.

Farore pointed to the flame, "Power or compulsion to do something." Then to the eye of truth, "This is what truly happened, without any emotion just what is." Moved her hand to the water medallion, " This is what really needs, not just wants." Farore moved to the bottle, "This is hidden mutual desires."

"Sooo, its a compunction to see the truth, and act on what both mutually want." Din rephrased, then looked up at Farore, "Is it an aphrodisiac?" She asked innocently

Farore blushed, "No. Well it can be but." She shook her head, "It's for repairing broken soul bonds, or friendships." Farore tilted her head, "I'm surprised you didn't use this on Nayru and Fierce deity."

Din shrugged, "Their bond isn't broken. It's just strained."

Farore snorted, "And Link and Zelda's isn't?"

Din's eyes flashed, "They have been killing their true selves, suppressing what remains ever since they last saw each other."

Farore blinked, "Wait at Fierce deity's place?"

"No, after the stupid king sent Link off into battle, with idiot Bryal trying to replace him."

"Oh." Farore leaned back, "That explains so much."

The flame dimmed, as did the firelight in the eye of truth, then the water medallion went cold. The liquid in the bottle turned a red, green, blue, then a purple. The colors shifted, swirling to one color and then another.

"It's rather pretty isn't it?" Din observed. Farore nodded. "Are you going to give it to Link or to Zelda? That's my next question."

Din studied the swirling, noticing bit's of gold. Then silver. She smiled, "Link first." Din turned, "If he takes after his grandfather as much as I think he does I might have to use twice the dosage and then drop a cow on him until he gets the idea."

Farore nodded again chuckling, "I'm going to be recording the entire thing to watch later."

Din grinned back, "I know they are in Termina. Any chance you'd tell me where?"

"By the farm." Farore answered. Then stood, "I'm going to get Raven and Leia. They are by my tree anyway."

Din's eyes glinted, "Are you by any chance going to monopolize Raven for a while?"

"Not before I get Leia and Aiden safely married." Farore answered smugly. "Your not the only one who can get couples together."

"Good luck."

"And to you Din. Just don't let Link get out of hand."

Din grinned, "Oh I fully intend to put it in his head to kidnap Zelda."

Farore sighed, "No doubt he's going to take her to some temple."

"Bit more romantic then that."

"I'm just glad I don't have to clean up after you anymore."

Din smirked and teleported. Landing by the farm. Keeping to the sky, not her preferred place but it was easier to see where Link and Zelda were coming from. Din spotted their auras with little difficulty, and they were already headed towards her. She held out the bottle looking at it.

Time to be sneaky.

Din landed, keeping herself hidden. Waiting for the two to get closer, Din stared at the wolf. Before mentally shielding them from outside influence, and physically sitting on the side of the tree they couldn't see. How was she going to get Link to drink the potion if he could only lap up water like a dog? Wait. An idea come into her mind. She shifted back looking at the two. This was good.

Zelda would have to give him water, in a bowl, and Link would drink from that. She could dump a lot of it in the bowl of water.

Yes, that was it. Would just have to wait till they got thirsty. That lasted for two seconds and Din started heating up the area around the two.

Link started at Zelda's reaction. Then took the mirror she handed to him. Raising it up so he could look at his reflection. The red eyes were his own, they blinked when he blinked, and the face was still his if a little bit paler. He pulled a lock of hair down, it was silver, an almost platinum blond color.

"If this is a color change then why would my clothes by changing color too?" Link asked. Gesturing to his tunic that was becoming a darker green.

"I have no idea." Zelda admitted. Then chewed her lip. Reaching up and touching her hand to his forehead, he froze at the touch. She laid her entire hand against his forehead. She frowned, "Your not feverish." She moved her hand to feel the back of his neck. Still wearing a puzzled expression.

Link didn't move in fear of causing her to move away from him. He really liked the contact and Zelda being so close. But he didn't want to chase her off. He surprised himself at just how much he wanted her to feel comfortable with him.

If she'd stay close he'd gladly play the invalid, he'd play the sick patent too, if that got her to willingly dote on him. He missed caring for someone, being cared for was a new experience. It really was an old one as she used to make sure he was alright all the time.

He missed those days.

Unconscionably he felt his eyes fix on her eyes. Then with shocking clarity he realized that she wasn't looking with a perplexed expression, but was rather. He blinked slowly. Then felt a very male smile on his lips, she was looking at his lips. Her gaze darted up to his, then away, blushing. He knew he didn't imagine feeling the temperate spike in her hand. Even as she withdrew it.

They didn't move, both feeling as unsure of themselves as when they were first courting. The easy friendship had shifted, they had both realized and both were unsure how to proceed and what the other one had wanted.

The moment was interrupted by a horn blaring. Link stiffened, and got to his feet, absently Pulling Zelda to hers.

"That was a mobin horn." Zelda stated. Link strained to hear from what direction it was coming from. Then pulled Zelda after him in the opposite direction. They ran in silence for a short while, Link heard another horn. Then paused, Zelda slowed behind him, then he pulled her off into trees. Covering her by crouching, his now black tunic giving much better camouflage then her Sheikah(dress) attire.

The mobin moved past them growling, then snorting following the trail where they had come before diving into the trees. Link's eyes tracked the monsters. Then satisfied they were out of hearing range, "Zelda. They are smelling your disguised power."

Zelda shifted beneath him. He wished she wouldn't do that right now, and she had no clue what that was doing to him. "But Link," He leaned down to better hear her. "I'm in my court dress in my real form. That's going to make me stick out in these trees. I can't run very fast in that dress either."

"It's better then us losing them and they pick up our trail." Link's eyes hardened, "I'll protect you Zelda. Trust me." He asked softly.

Zelda nodded once. Closed her eyes and took a breath. Link felt rather then heard the disguise fall away. He looked around keeping a close eye on anything that might resemble an enemy. Then looked down at Zelda. As she had said she was in her court attire, a long white dress, with a blue top. Embroidered with golden thread in the fashion of a royal queen.

The white shone against the dark grown making her look heavenly, and Link conceded that she stood out even when completely still. The blue and cream made her hair stand out more then it normally did, accenting her golden hair into a comfortable braided crown, that she was thank God not wearing her actual one, she looked beautiful and regal.

She stayed still watching him as he studied her. Allowing him to come up with a plan that would get them both out. Zelda didn't tell him that she couldn't run as far as normal because she hadn't been eating very much either.

Link on the other hand, knew she couldn't run very fast in court attire, even the lighter weight one. That this blue dress seemed to fall into. Even so the dress wasn't made to run in, or for long outdoor use. It was specifically made for informal state visits and the like.

Not for ease of moment or from running from monsters.

Link gave her a boyish grin, one that promised trouble, and then leaning forward, he wrapped his arms around her, lifting her up slightly then,

He tossed her over his shoulder, with only a small sound of protest from her. Link couldn't tell if the noise was peeved because he hadn't taken advantage of closeness, or because he had tossed his wife over his shoulder without warning.

She couldn't see his face and that was probably a good thing because the silly grin would have made her either shake her head, or kiss him. Right now running from monsters he couldn't afford the distraction. It had been a favorite game of the two when they had been secretly courting. Distract the other when then other was working. For Zelda it had been in the court or addressing nobles, Link would alternatively hide on the ceiling, sometimes in the chandelier, and make exaggerated parodies of whomever Zelda was talking to or looking at. The long-shots had seen a lot of good use in those days.

Link picked his way through the forest, keeping a steady quick lope that ate up a lot of ground very quickly.

For Link, Zelda had taken to sitting in a tree or window ledge, innocently reading a book, but mentally commenting on all sorts of things. Telepathically having a running conversational monologue, the topics varied from the giant's story from Termina, to how swords were made. Link had needed those lessons in the first few days because he had just been so overwhelmed with everything that Zelda's steady presence had kept him sane and from running back into the kokori forest and living like a hermit. He could also talk about things without fear of anyone overhearing or thinking him crazy. Because he wasn't nearly as precise as Zelda, he could only communicate with images and thoughts, not so much words. This Zelda was nothing like the other older Zelda.

Link however had found he was gifted with training others, soldiers for the king's army, so having his attention diverted was essential in some cases comical, when dealing with the idiots that made up the army. Link had however had risen in ranks and was able to choose more adapt pupils. The soldiers in turn were very loyal, and didn't shy from danger or from non-routine craziness.

Like helping to deal with a lady and her dog, or fighting re-deads or pig-monsters. Things that freed up Link's time and made the townsfolk happy.

Link smile grew, then his eyes furrowed, what was that feeling, he mentally touched it. Realizing that it had been Zelda. He gently prodded, and then when her mental grip loosened, he pulled the image into light.

Zelda felt Link's chest and shoulders shake with suppressed laughter. Glad for the dark woods and that Link was facing opposite her. Certain that she was blushing.

She had been thinking of a similar situation that Link had insisted upon in case of danger. The king had agreed to it, and she had spent the remaining week, being a practice dummy in case anything happened to the castle.

She had been thrown onto horses, carried in all sorts of ways. All in the name of 'rescue the princess'. Link had insisted that if the kingdom was attacked she would need to be taken to safety, or kept from battle.

The king had felt such training was beneath his dignity, but not hers. The practical experience and not just being told what to do in such an event had made going to certain places and acting in certain ways instinctual.

Link did not go easy when it had come to her safety.

Quietly Zelda wondered if Link intended to put her down.

Link might not be very aware of it, but she was getting rather aware of sweaty muscles.

To distract herself, she mentally, lightly touched his mind. Where are we going?

For the ears I think of the Link in Oracle of ages and seasons.

Please tell me what you liked most about it, and what would you guys think of a possible story with Fierce deity's back story? Possibly another charter as well. Please share your ideas with me because I'd love to hear them. Have a Merry Christmas it's only 10 days away.
