Chapter 54 "To Party or Not To Party"

Lily nudged Severus' arm and smiled. "C'mon. You should go."

Shifting uncomfortably in his office chair, Severus shook his head uncertainly. "I don't know."

"It's next weekend...Damius is going." Lily wrapped her arms around Severus from behind and rested her chin on top of his head. "After everything that happened last week with Draco, you could use some fun."

"I would hardly call getting drunk while watching naked woman dance around 'fun'." Severus said wryly, pulling a stack of student tests toward himself.

"You know Remus wouldn't want to do something like that for his bachelor party."

Severus shook his head. "Yeah, Remus might not want to, but look who's planning it. I'm sure Sirius has no problem with it."

"Just go, Sev. Whatever happens, happens."

Scribbling notes and grades onto the papers he was marking, Severus still was not convinced. "I have work to do."

"I can help with that. I've done it before." Lily ran a hand under Severus shirt so it met his bare skin. "For me, Sev. You'll have fun."

Severus leaned his back so he could look up at Lily. "You're really manipulating, you know that?"

Tossing her fiery hair back, Lily laughed. "Yup."

She squeezed herself between the desk and Severus' chair so she could sit on his lap. Green eyes were speckled with lust as they met Severus' twinkling black ones. Leaning down, Severus began pressing soft kisses to Lily's neck. He worked his hand under the hem of her shirt so it rested right on her hip bone, and he squeezed tightly.

Lily let out a soft moan in his ear that caused his legs to turn to jelly. If he was standing, they would not have been able to support his weight.

Two distractions caused them to suddenly break apart. Number one was Draco popping his head out from under the desk. Both had forgotten he was there. Damius had started classes, and obviously could no longer babysit Draco if Lily wanted a break.

Number two was the office door suddenly bursting open, banging against the wall.

"Hey!" Sirius said loudly, then noticed that Lily was hastily trying to get off of her husband and retain some kind of composure. "Oh, sorry. Didn't know I was interrupting."

"You weren't." Lily said quickly, to spare Severus the embarrassment. "What's up?"

Sirius had bent down to say hi to Draco. The boy giggled as Sirius swung an arm gently around his neck to pull him close and run his hand through Draco's hair affectionately.

"Hey, how's it swinging?"

"I ate cookies for breakfast."

Sirius laughed. "You didn't save any for me? Now I'm sad."

Draco turned to Lily, a pout on his face. "Lily? More cookies?"

"Sorry, honey. I don't have any more." Lily sat on the edge of the desk.

"But Sirius wants one!" Draco cried shrilly.

"Oh for pete's sake." Remus stepped into the room behind his friend, rolling his eyes. "Causing mayhem where ever you go, Sirius."

"Hey, Remus." Lily through her arms around him. "Are you doing ok? Where's Tonks?"

Remus waved hello to Severus and patted Draco on the head before replying. "She's working."

"It's actually amazing to see Remus without Tonks." Sirius interjected. "Usually they're connected by the lips."

Remus reddened with embarrassment, but still managed to punch Sirius in the shoulder. The other man rubbed the spot, but grinned mischievously.

"Not that I'm not glad to see you two, but is everything all right?" Lily asked, a bit of worry in her voice.

"Yes. I just wanted to make sure Severus and Damius were still coming to the party. It's going to be awesome. If they said no, I would persuade them." Sirius said, twirling his wand in the air.

"You do know I'm right here, don't you?" Severus said, raising an eyebrow.

"Sure I do, old chap."

Rolling her eyes at the men's foolishness, Lily said, "Damius wants to go, and so does Severus."

Before Severus could open his mouth to protest that he had work to do, Remus' face broke out into a smile. "Great. You know it's just going to be the four of us..I don't really have any other friends. I don't know if I could have handled Sirius on my own."

Lily eyed Severus, waiting for him to argue, but there was nothing. She patted Remus on the arm. "So I guess it's set then. Next week my boys are going to party."

"Yes, we will." Sirius kissed Lily on the cheek. "Hate to run, but I have to go to work. I just wanted to pop by."

"So mature, Sirius." Lily laughed. "You actually don't want to be late."

Sirius shrugged. "Duty calls, Madam Lily."

He bent to hug Draco goodbye. "Too bad you're so young. When you're older I'll take you out and I'll teach you how to pick up the ladies."

Lily snorted. "Like I'd ever let him go out with you. You're a troublemaker. You'd probably get him into a barfight."

Severus stood, clearing his throat. "Listen, I hate to throw everyone out, but I have a class in a few minutes."

"Right." Sirius pulled on Remus' arm. "Will you stop chatting, Moony? Jeez. This guy never shuts up."

Rolling his eyes, he tugged Remus out. They could hear the two bickering back and forth about how rude Sirius was.

Lily smiled and turned to her husband. "Couldn't say no, huh?" she touched his cheek. "Thank you. I know you'll have a good time, and I'll take care of your paperwork so you don't have to worry about it."

"Who can say no to Remus? I mean come on. The guy practically wears that puppy dog face every minute of the day." Severus grumbled.

Lily kissed him, smiling against his lips. "I'll see you later. Maybe I'll give you some more incentive to want to go."

She touched his face again before whisking Draco into her arms and leaving. Severus shook his head as he cleared up the papers on his desk. The pull that Lily had over him was way stronger then magic. He smiled to himself. He wouldn't have it any other way.
