The Child No One Wanted - Epilogue
Today was the day! Olivia and Alex were finally getting married! The house was complete and utter chaos! They had packed boxes everywhere because they were in the process of moving into a bigger place and there was a donation pile in the middle of the living room of things they weren't taking to the new house.
"Genesis! Come in here, I need to curl your hair!" Olivia shouted. She was sitting around in her strapless slip and bathrobe. Her hair was pulled into an elegant bun on the top of her head and her make up was flawless.
Genesis came into the room, hopping into her pantyhose. "Wow! Mom...you look beautiful!" She said. She finished pulling her pantyhose on and sat down in front of her Mom's vanity handing, her the brush.
Olivia began brushing through her daughter's hair and smiled at her through the mirror. "Thank you baby girl! But, I'm not even in my dress yet."
"You still look beautiful Mom." Genesis said.
After Olivia curled Genesis' hair and sent her off to finish getting dressed, she slipped out of her robe and pulled on her ivory, sweetheart, floor length sheath dress. She twirls around in front of the mirror and decides she approves of how she looks. She wouldn't admit it, but she was nervous. Wasn't every bride? "Take a deep breathe. You're Olivia Benson. SVU detective. Bad ass Mom!" She said, giving herself a pep talk.
Genesis and Haylee were in the living room, dressed in matching emerald green sweetheart strapless knee length dresses.
"You both look so beautiful!" Alex gushed, stepping out of the office and into the living room.
"Thank you Mama." Genesis said.
"Thank you Alex." Haylee said.
Alex was dressed in an ivory v-cut dress that stopped above her calves. Her hair was in waves over her shoulder, with light make up. She was a vision!
"You look pretty too Mama." Genesis said.
Haylee nodded in agreement.
The cars arrived and Alex left first, followed by Olivia and the girls.
They had decided to rent out a conference room at the Four Seasons for the ceremony. They weren't doing anything too big. It was just fifty of their closest friends.
Alex walked down the aisle first and stood at the archway they had made with the officiate and waited for her future wife.
Five minutes later...
The music started, Genesis and Haylee started walking down the aisle, ending with Haylee standing beside Alex and Genesis standing where Olivia would stand. The song changed and everyone stood up and looked at the doors. Olivia walked in with Capt. Cragen, her honorary father.
"Olivia, you look beautiful. I'm so happy for you." Capt. Cragen said.
"You're gonna make me cry Captain." Olivia said back. She finally reached Alex's side and took her hand. She handed Genesis her bouquet and focused on the officiate.
"Join me in celebrating and witnessing the love and commitment shared by these two women today..." The officiate began. "...Alex, repeat after me: Today, I take you to be my spouse, I promise to uphold the individuality and equality of our spirits, to share your joys and sorrows, to care for you in times of sickness and to love you no matter what happens in our lives."
Alex repeated the words, choking back tears. And she slipped the band on Olivia's finger.
The officiate looked at Olivia, "Your turn."
Olivia nodded and bit her quivering lip before repeating the same vows to Alex. She slipped the ring on her finger. She grinned when the camera flash went off.
"You may kiss now." The officiate said.
Alex cupped Olivia's face and kissed her passionately, with a little tongue and a nip to her bottom lip.
"I present to you Alexandra and Olivia Cabot everyone!" The officiate announced.
Everyone stood and clapped and threw white rose petals at the happy couple.
Olivia looked around and caught sight of Genesis and Haylee making eyes at each other. Her little girl was growing up! She swallowed the lump in her throat when it dawned on her that Genesis might marry Haylee one day, if the way they were looking at each other was anything to go by. It was years away! All that mattered was she was safe, happy, loved and on her way to recovery.
Genesis was becoming a survivor. And with the love of her Mother's and her girlfriend she would never be a victim again.
That's that! Remember to hit me up for one shot prompts. I'd be more than happy to write them! Was the ceremony ok? I'd never been to a same sex ceremony, so I had to look it up. I'm sorry it's short!
