Yuu massaged her temples. Renji had called a division meeting as rumors that Captain Kuchiki had betrayed the Gotei 13 began to spread. Yuu couldn't decide if she was excited at the chance to prove that she could keep a secret from a whole group of people or distressed at the prospect. She did know that she felt slightly sick; she really didn't want to lie to her division.

Right before the meeting Renji dragged her into his office. Renji sat down and sighed. Yuu noticed the tea service on the desk. She poured them both a cup of tea. Renji took his cup with a nod of gratitude. Yuu sat down.

Renji sighed again and said, "Yuu. I've heard the reports from Rangiku and Momo so I'm not asking for a chain of events. I'm asking what happened."

Yuu could feel a hand around her heart. Maybe she wasn't as good at keeping secrets as she thought. Yuu felt her thoughts race. She couldn't tell Renji what had happened; that would be disobeying an order. But she just couldn't let that look of pure confusion stay on her friends face. Then Yuu came up with an answer.

Yuu spoke slowly, "Captain Kuchiki betrayed us. His honor demanded it."

Renji started to swear, "Damn. Damnit."

Yuu swiftly cut him off, "Captain." Yuu placed all the emphasis she could on that one word. "Kuchiki betrayed us." Yuu wanted to make sure this next part sunk into the red-headed Lieutenant's brain. "His honor demanded it."

Renji looked at Yuu in confusion. The Third seat could see the gears working. Slowly Renji deciphered what Yuu was saying. Yuu waited in tense anticipation; her hand was tight around her cup.

Slowly Renji nodded, "I understand; I think."

Yuu breathed a sigh of relief, "Oh thank fate!"

Renji got up, "Based on the evidence presented we have to assume that Byakuya Kuchiki has betrayed the Gotei 13."

Yuu was sure her distress was plainly visible, "Until further evidence is presented I have to agree with that assessment."

Renji massaged his temples, "Sometimes I'm very glad I'm not you."

Yuu furrowed her brow, "Is that a compliment?"

Renji answered as he poured himself a measure of alcohol, "I don't know."

Yuu asked, "Would you like me to tell the division? I was there."

Renji gulped his drink and shook his head, "I'm the Lieutenant; it's my responsibility."

Yuu told him, "I will be there to support you."

Renji nodded a tired nodded, "Thank you." Then Renji scowled, "It doesn't help that this come right on top of the news that if someone else kills your Zanpakutō its lost forever."

Yuu shook her head, "I don't know what to say to that."

**Scene Change**

Yuu had managed to get a nap outside of the Fourth division. She had slept for a few hours in her office and was woken by Renji and Rukia. They had come to search for clues in Captain Kuchiki's office. Yuu joined them at Rukia's request. Yuu wasn't worried that they find any anything. All of the answers were in the Kuchiki Clan Archives at least ten miles from here.

Then Yuu found a book. She had seen it before but, hadn't been able to read it. Yuu flipped though it to see profiles on each member of the Sixth division. Yuu noticed that each one had been annotated by Captain Kuchiki himself. Yuu put it back on the shelf before she had a chance to read any of it. There were some things Yuu didn't want to know.

Then Yuu looked up as she felt both Captain Kuchiki's and Senbonzakura's spiritual pressure. Yuu rushed to the window to see the Captain and his Zanpakutō land. Yuu rushed to the courtyard and Rukia followed her. They ran into Captain Kuchiki as they were headed into a hallway.

Yuu called out, "Captain!"

Rukia began to yell but Yuu was in the wrong position to tell what was being said. Just then Senbonzaura held a broken Zanpakutō by Rukia's head. Yuu looked at the blade. It was Sode no Shirayuki.

Rukia was frozen but Yuu could react. She rushed forward as she brought her fist back. With a strangled yell Yuu slammed her fist into Captain Kuchiki's nose.

Her hiss was barely a breath, "I hope you have a plan to fix this because what you are planning is not worth this price."

Captain Kuchiki whispered back, "I stood still didn't I?"

Yuu snorted in disgust and turned to Rukia. The Lieutenant of the Thirteenth division was clutching her dead Zanpakutō to her chest. Yuu bent down to offer comfort. Yuu kept both of her eyes on Senbonzakura. The Zanpakutō swung his sword at Rukia and Yuu reacted.

In a moment Yuu had shifted to her combat form and drew Shinsō. She managed to block Senbonzakura's blade. Captain Kuchiki prepared to swing his blade and Renji was just in time to stop that one.

Renji used a signal Yuu and he had created that meant back to back. Yuu pushed Senbonzakura away and stood. With a flick of her wrist Yuu sent Murasaki no Ryū to Renji.

Renji said, "We appear to have intruders Third seat Katsu."

Yuu responded, "With your permission, Lieutenant Abarai, I would like to remove them from the barracks."

Renji nodded, "Granted. Mind if I assist you?"

Yuu's eyes turned to ice, "Not at all."

Renji laid out a basic plan, "Zabimaru and I will fight Captain Kuchiki. You, Kakuchū no Ryū and, Shinsō take Senbonzakura."

Yuu nodded and threw Shinsō towards the samurai. Shinsō switched from his sword form to his physical form and began to engage Senbonzakura in battle. Yuu flew around to send Aka no Ryū at her enemy's exposed back. Senbonzakura crashed through a wall and started to flash away.

Yuu yelled, "Ban Kai! Kamishini no Yari!"

Shinsō shifted into Kamishini no Yari. He grew about two feet and appeared even lankier. His jumpsuit shifted from black to white and, his skin became black. The pink ribbon on his right arm, that had been there since Yuu had become his primary Soul Reaper, wrapped around all four limbs and his torso.

Yuu had done this for speed. Senbonzakura wasn't getting away now. Kamishini no Yari could move at 500 times the speed of sound. Momoiro no Ryū was the only one faster than that and, that was only when Shūhei had given Yuu most of his spiritual pressure.

Yuu mentally heard what Kamishini no Yari said to Senbozakura, "You won't get away. Shoot to kill!"

Yuu sent a plethora of red spears at Senbonzakura as Kamishini no Yari caused his sword to extend. Senbonzakura flashed away and Yuu flew to meet him. With a yell Yuu swung a red ax at the Zanpakutō's head.

The next thing Yuu noticed is that she was surrounded by hundreds of swords coming up from the ground. It looked like Senbonzakura had activated his Ban Kai. Yuu swore and took to the sky.

Murasaki no Ryū brought Yuu a message from Renji, "Yuu, look out!"

The message didn't come soon enough. Yuu turned to see Captain Kuchiki pointed his finger at Yuu. Yuu used Kuro no Ryū to absorb the incoming Kidō but Captain Kuchiki had used the one moment Yuu was distracted to land a blow. Reflexively Yuu dodged but that lead her straight into the blades of Senbonzakura's Ban Kai. Yuu pivoted but it was too late; the pink membranes of her wings had been slashed into ribbons. Yuu crashed into the ground across from Renji.

Yuu looked up just in time to see what Captain Kuchiki was saying, "This is your final warning; stay out of our way."

Captain Kuchiki began to walk off as several more Zanpakutō spirits appeared. With each eye blink Yuu figure out the name of each one. The one dressed like the peacock had to be Ruri'iro Kujaku. He even looked like his master, Yumichika Ayasegawa. The next one Yuu recognize was Kazeshini, Shūhei's blade. Yuu remembered Tenken from the night on Sōkyoku Hill and Hōzukimaru from the night she had figure out what was going on. The only one she didn't know was the one dressed like an Eastern traveler.

The Zanpakutōs flashed to surround Yuu, Rukia and Renji. Yuu pushed herself to her feet; the only injuries she had were her vocal cords and her wings. To be honest Yuu didn't notice that she had torn her still healing vocal cords again.

Yuu whispered, "Ao no Ryū, can you fix my wings?"

Ao no Ryū told her, "Only as a patch job."

Yuu nodded, "Do it."

Ao no Ryū flew out of its earring and mended the tears in the membrane. Yuu tested her wings by opening and closing them a few times. Yuu held out her right hand and Kamishini no Yari simultaneously flashed over to her and condensed into his sword form. Yuu shifted into a battle pose as Aka no Ryū came out to land on her head. Murasaki no Ryū left Renji and returned to its earring. Kuro no Ryū and Shiro no Ryū wrapped around Yuu's right and left arms respectively.

Just then the Onmitsukidō showed up and surrounded the Zanpakutōs. Yuu looked around to see Captain Suì-Fēng, Third seat Madarame, Fifth Seat Ayasegawa, and Lieutenant Kira. A moment later Ichigo flashed next to Captain Suì-Fēng.

Yuu read Ichigo lips, "Rukia you all right?" Then Ichigo noticed Captain Kuchiki, "Byakuya!"

Then the scene exploded. The Zanpakutō spirits rushed to attack the members of the Onmitsukidō. One by one the spirits were confronted by Officers. Yuu was about to join the battle when an arm appeared in front of her. Yuu looked to see Kensei.

Yuu inclined her head in greeting, "Captain Muguruma."

The Captain of Ninth division got straight to the point, "We need your help Yuu. Others are handling the situation here."

Yuu narrowed her eyes, "You've found your Zanpakutōs."

Kensei nodded, "Yes."

Yuu took a moment to observe the scene. Ichigo had left to chase after Captain Kuchiki. The rest of the Zanpakutō spirits and Officers had scattered to various battle scenes.

Yuu gave a swift nodded, "Lead the way."

**Scene Change**

Yuu landed next to Shinji and Rose. Kensei flashed to appeared next to them. Yuu observe her three Visored friends. Shinji had cut his hair to hide the scar Kaname Tōsen had given him. He was wearing a white scarf around his neck. Kensei had let his hair grow out and was wearing a metal belt. Rose had cut his hair and swept it away from his face. A single lock fell between his eyes.

Yuu asked, "Where's Lieutenant Kuna?"

Kensei answered, "She's sitting with Shūhei. Don't tell her I told you this but she actually cares about him."

Yuu nodded as Rose told her, "Look."

Yuu looked at where the Captain of Third division was pointing. The four members of the Gotei 13 were in a dense forest. Yuu looked through the trees to see Sakanade, Tachikaze and, Kinshara. The three Zanpakutōs were discussing something.

Yuu turned to look at Shinji, "Why do you need my help?

Shinji explained, "We need to separate them. The plan is to have you appear and draw one of them away using your illusions."

Yuu clarified, "I'm not going to have to attack any of them am I?"

Shinji shook his head, "No. As soon as you get them away we'll step in."

Yuu could see a million and one things wrong with that plan but she didn't voice any of them. It wasn't like she could think of a better plan. Yuu nodded and moved away to work. Yuu had practiced this a couple of times; she didn't know when it would come in handy. As a result she could do it faster and with less spiritual pressure. In moments she had a pair of clones in front of her.

She armed one of them with Aka no Ryū and the other one with Shiro no Ryū. With a flick of her wrist she sent the clones around so that way the Visored's Zanpakutō were surrounded. Then as one the three Yuu's made a dramatic entry.

Sakanade swore, "Which one of them is real?"

Kinshara scolded, "It doesn't matter! They all can attack us."

Tachikaze ordered, "There are three of them and three of us. We should each attack one at the same time."

Yuu had been very careful not to speak; she wasn't a ventriloquist. Yuu and her two doubles turned as one and flew off into the forest.

Aka no Ryū spoke, /Tachikaze is following me./

Shiro no Ryū reported as well, /Kinshara is after me./

Yuu swore as she looked over her shoulder, "Yep Sakanade is after me." Yuu said, "Just get them far enough apart that they can't help each other."

Yuu received confirmations and continued to fly. Kensei must had entered the battle because Aka no Ryū flew up and landed on Yuu's head. Yuu looked over her shoulder to see that Sakanade was still chasing her. Up ahead Yuu could see Shinji.

Yuu put on an extra burst of speed and landed next to the Captain of Fifth Division at the same time Shiro no Ryū and Kiiro no Ryū came back to their piercings. Yuu turned so that way she could see what Sakanade and her master were saying.

Sakanade raged, "It was a trap to separate us!"

Shinji smirked, "Yep." Shinji turned to Yuu, "Third seat Katsu, I'm ordering you to fall back."

Yuu nodded, "Yes Sir!"

Yuu hurried away. She did not want to be caught in Shinji's Inverted World; she liked her sense of direction the way it was. Besides she wanted to go visit Shūhei. He was still at the Fourth division so, maybe Yuu could get her wings looked at.

**Scene Change**

Shūhei blinked his eyes opened and groaned. It looked like he was still in the Fourth division. Shūhei pushed himself up in bed and rubbed his eyes.

"Are you feeling better?"

Shūhei turned to look at his Soul Mate, "Yuu!" Shūhei put all the love he had for her into his voice, "You're okay."

Yuu flick her hands, "Move."

Shūhei moved over to the side of his bed and Yuu crawl in next on him. Yuu put her head on his chest and wrapped her arms around him. Shūhei brought his hand up to cup her head. It was a position they knew by heart.

Yuu spoke again, "I wouldn't say I am okay. Captain Unohana's is mad at me."

Shūhei flinched as he wrote the words on Yuu's palm, "What did you do?"

Yuu explained, "I keep tearing my vocal cords. And my wings were torn to streamers."

Shūhei sighed, "Did you at least rescue Kakuchū no Ryū?"

Yuu push herself up, "You just asked for a full report."

Shūhei signed, "I could use it."

Yuu told him everything. Well almost everything. She didn't tell him about Captain Kuchiki's true plans.

Shūhei asked, "So right now there's a, how did you put it, team death match going on?"

Yuu nodded, "I think Izuru is fighting Kazeshini."

Shūhei groaned, "I'm never going to hear the end of it." Then Shūhei burst out laughing.

Yuu scowled, "What is it?"

Shūhei explained, "I'm kind of mad; I didn't get to see you order Kakuchū no Ryū."

Yuu stuck her tongue out, "I'm sorry."

Shūhei pulled Yuu into his arms. Yuu leaned forward and pressed her lips to Shūhei's. For a few minutes the two Soul Mates participated in intense make-out session. Yuu placed a hand on Shūhei's chest and pushed out. Shūhei broke away with great reluctance.

Shūhei took both of Yuu's hands in his. He looked Yuu straight in her strange blue eyes. Yuu felt lost at sea.

"Do you remember when we meet?"

"I asked you about tenné."

"And oblivion."

"I got away from you."

Shūhei asked, "Marry me."

Yuu answered, "I thought that was obvious."

Shūhei pressed the issue, "I want you to say yes. I want to set a date."

Yuu nodded a slow nod, "Yes Shūhei. I'll marry you. I can't set a date. I do want a small ceremony so I need to look at my calendar. But I will marry you as soon as possible."

Shūhei pressed lips against Yuu's in a brief and chaste kiss. This time he ended it.

"Thank you."

"I love you."

"I love you."

Yuu and Shūhei flipped to the window as a burst of intense spiritual pressure. It tasted like frenzy and bloodlust.

Yuu identified it, "Captain Zaraki."

Yuu turned to read Shūhei's lips, "I think we can breathe a sigh of relief."

Yuu yawned, "I'm taking a nap."

Yuu crawled down to place her head and right hand on Shūhei's chest. Shūhei observed his fiancée. She was dangerously low on spiritual pressure. As Yuu started to breath deep breathes Shūhei pushed just a bit of his spiritual pressure into her.

"Have good dreams."

**Scene Change**

Yuu knew she had to be dreaming. She would know this place anywhere but, this scene had never happened before. Yuu was in the alley where she had meet Shūhei. Yuu noticed a strange figure and went to see what it was.

Yuu felt her eyes go wide with shock. The figure was sitting with its back to the wall. It had its arms wrapped around its knees. The most stunning thing was that the figure was Yuu.

The figure was made out of spiritual pressure. It was the same color as Yuu's spiritual pressure. The figure was dressed as Yuu when she was wearing her Soul Reaper's uniform expect it looked like it was wearing a Lieutenant's badge on its right arm. There was also a ring on its left ring finger.

Just then a Shūhei-figure walked up. This figure matched Shūhei's spiritual pressure. The Shūhei-figure sat down next down next to the Yuu-figure. The Yuu-figure was crying. It was clear that the Yuu-figure was trying to tell the Shūhei-figure something.

Then there was a pause. The Shūhei-figure said something. The Yuu-figure reached out and grabbed the Shūhei-figure's uniform and started to cry into the Shūhei-figure's chest. The Shūhei-figure wrapped his arms around the Yuu-figure and held it.

Then Yuu noticed something gold in the Yuu-figure. It was a sphere of gold spiritual pressure inside the pink spiritual pressure of the Yuu-figure. The sphere rested in the Yuu-figure's abdomen.

Yuu's face wrinkled in confusion, "What?"

Before Yuu could puzzle it out she woke up. Shūhei was going through her sketch book. Yuu shot straight up. Shūhei looked at her in worry.

Shūhei asked, "Is everything okay."

Yuu answered honestly, "I don't know."

Shūhei pushed the issue, "How can you not know if you had a nightmare or not?"

Yuu shook her head, "This wasn't a nightmare; it was too real. But it wasn't a dream either."

Shūhei reasoned, "So a memory."

Yuu nodded a slow nodded, "I think so."

Shūhei reminded Yuu, "Memories can't hurt you."

Yuu agreed, "No, they can't"

Yuu settled back into the position she had been in. Yuu was attempting to figure out what the dream had meant and, her face was one of extreme concentration. Then Yuu felt a burst of spiritual pressure and her attention flitted to the battle. The dream was discarded on the floor of Yuu's mind.

Author's note: LadyAnnaLee here. So I was looking at my calendar and I relized that today is the one year anniversary of The Man of Honor and the Best Maid. How cool is that? In honor of the momentous occasion I decided to post an extra chapter. The user, aliceyuky, made both me and this story a favorite. They are also following this story. So now I will see you next Wednesday. Please review. It is the anniversary. Love, LadyAnnaLee.

Btw I don't own Bleach but I did think up Yuu and her Kakuchū no Ryū.
