The family were back from their holiday to Tenerife. They'd all had a really nice time away, and they all felt a lot better after a nice relaxing week.
After spending the day unpacking and doing lots of washing, Rachel was deciding on what to cook for tea. Eddie was at the football with some of his mates.
"What do you fancy Jack?" Rachel asked as it was just the two of them in the kitchen
"Can we have pizza?"
"Yes I suppose we could, do you want to come to Tesco with me and pick which one you want?"
"Can't we make them?"
"Well I don't see why not" Rachel said as she hadn't really done anything with the kids today so wanted to do something fun with them
"Do you want to come to Tesco with me or stay here and Taylor will look after you"
"I'll come with you"
"Okay let me go and ask your sisters what they want to do"
Daisy and Emma were playing nicely together with LOL dolls and didn't want to come. Taylor said she'd look after them whilst Rachel went shopping.
Rachel then popped into Ivy's room.
"We're going to make pizzas for tea love so I'm just going to Tesco with Jack"
"Okay" Ivy said sounding fed up
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine, just bored"
"You can come shopping with me if you like?"
"Oh that sounds thrilling, exactly what I want to do on a Saturday night"
"Well we're making pizzas soon, that's something to do"
"Great"
"Anyway, I'll see you in a bit"
"Okay"
Ivy was really fed up. Ever since falling out with some of her friends, she'd been really struggling at school and had ended up spending most of her time on her own.
She was scrolling through Instagram and looking through pictures of everyone else having a good time.
As much as she'd had a lovely holiday with her family, she needed some time away from them for a bit. She just wanted to do something with her friends.
But she had no friends, so she couldn't go and do something with them.
Ivy heard Taylor walk through her bedroom door so called her in.
"Do you want to do something tonight? Go to the cinema maybe?"
"I would have but I've just arranged a last minute night out with my friends"
"Oh"
"Sorry Ives, maybe we can do something tomorrow. If I'm not too hungover that is"
Ivy went downstairs with Taylor.
She was so fed up though and in the end she text one of her old friends to see if she wanted to do something tonight.
It was one of the girls in the group that Ivy thought was a bit nicer, so she thought she might be able to have a nice time if it was just the two of them.
Ivy sighed when Jade text back saying she was going to a party.
There was no way Rachel was going to let her go to a party and she didn't even know that she really wanted to. Luke would most likely be there along with a fair few girls that Ivy did not want to be around.
Jade tried to persuade Ivy to go but Ivy was putting her foot down, it really wasn't what she had in mind.
"Ivy, will you come and help me decide what to wear tonight please?"
"Yeah I guess"
"Can I help too?" Emma asked
"Yeah okay"
"And me?" Daisy said
"Come on then"
Ivy sat on her sister's bed helping her pick out an outfit for tonight was making her really jealous.
In the end she text Jade and said she would go to the party. Maybe then she'd end up making some new friends. Anything was worth a try right now.
Luckily she had a bottle of Malibu from a while ago that Taylor had bought for her but she'd been ill but hadn't ended up going to the party.
"Ooh yeah I like that, you should wear it" Ivy said to Taylor
Taylor picked up on Ivy's change of mood at once.
"Oh have you finally got over your grump?"
"Shut up"
Ivy then went back to her own room to decide on what she was going to wear herself. She soon heard Rachel come through the door.
As soon as they heard Rachel come in, Taylor and Ivy were both straight down the stairs as they both had something to ask her.
"Mum" they both said at the same time
"Hang on a second give me chance to get in the door"
Ivy and Taylor followed their Mum into the kitchen.
"Right what was it you wanted Ivy?"
"I've been invited to a sleepover tonight, please can I go?"
"Who's?" Rachel asked as Ivy had spent a fair amount of time lately moaning that she had no friends
"A girl in my year, I sat with her at a few lunches before Easter"
"Urmm well yes I guess so. Are you eating there?"
"Yeah I think so, she doesn't live far from here so I don't mind walking over"
"Okay love, I'm sure someone can give you a lift though"
"Right Taylor what did you want?"
"Well I was wondering if I could go out tonight with my friends?"
"I suppose you've both had enough of me after spending a whole week with me that you want to get out for a bit?"
"No it's not that, but I hardly ever go out with my school friends now"
"I'm only joking, of course I don't mind love"
"I have another question"
"Go on then"
"Could I have my friends over for some pre drinks first?"
"How many of you are there?"
"I think there's only six of us going"
"I suppose so, but don't be too loud because I don't want you waking up the little ones"
"We won't be, and we won't leave too late"
"Good"
"I'm going up for a shower"
Taylor helped Rachel to make the pizza bases and prepare the toppings.
"Jack, Daisy, Emma come and make your pizzas"
"What time are your friends coming over"
"About half past 8 if that's okay"
"Yeah that's fine"
Rachel and Taylor helped the little ones to make their pizzas.
"Do you know what I reckon it may even be warm enough to eat outside tonight"
"Yeah I think it is actually" Taylor agreed
Eddie got home when they were in the middle of making their pizzas.
"Right Eddie are you alright to cook them?"
"What are you going to do?"
"I was going to go and sit in the garden with Taylor and have a gin and tonic"
Rachel made them both a gin and tonic and got Eddie a beer and then she went in the garden with Taylor.
The three little ones were playing in the garden.
Ivy came down and said she was going to leave now.
Rachel said someone would drop her off but she insisted on walking.
She was feeling a bit bad about lying to Rachel, but she knew her Mum would say no if she asked her. She wasn't planning on drinking much though and she was going to try and avoid her old friends and make some new ones.
Ivy went to Jade's and ended up having a really nice time with her. Jade's Mum cooked them some pasta to eat before they left.
"So are you sleeping back here tonight Ivy?" Jade's Mum asked
"Yes please if that's okay"
"Yes of course, your Mum does know you're going to a party though doesn't she?"
"Yeah I told her"
"Okay good, I just wanted to make sure"
After they'd eaten the girls went upstairs to get ready.
Ivy had got really good at doing makeup so did Jade's makeup for her.
"You're so good Ivy, I can never make my eyes look as nice as this"
"My brother bought me some gin for tonight, shall we start drinking it now?"
"Yeah okay, I only want a bit though"
Ivy had a glass and it went straight to her head. She was already feeling tipsy before they even got to the party.
Jade's Mum dropped them off at the party.
They had a few more drinks and Ivy was getting very tipsy, even though she hadn't drank that much.
Ivy's old friends spotted Jade so came straight over to them.
"What are you doing here?" one girl asked looking disgusted
"Leave her alone, she has just as much of a right to be here as you do"
Jade was also getting really fed up with these girls, but a bit like Ivy just didn't have anyone else to hang around with.
Ivy just walked away and poured herself another drink. Things got even worse though when she saw Luke arrive.
Ivy made herself a strong drink and downed it before pouring another one.
Rachel was at home and had no idea Ivy wasn't at a sleepover and was in fact getting incredibly drunk.
Taylor's friends had arrived and were in the kitchen having a few drinks.
"I need the toilet" one of Taylor's friends Hannah said
"Yeah me too, I'll come with you"
They both went up to Taylor's en suite.
When Hannah went to the loo she realised she'd come on her period.
"Oh Taylor I completely forgot my period was due, can I have a tampon please?"
"I used the last of mine the other day but I'll go and get you one from my Mum's room"
"Could I have a few to take with me please?"
"Yeah sure"
Taylor went and got some for her. Once Hannah was sorted they went back downstairs.
They played some drinking games.
Rachel came into the kitchen.
"Are you leaving anytime soon girls?"
"Yeah we've booked a taxi, it should be here soon"
"Okay"
Rachel was about to go out but Taylor's friends stopped her. They all really liked Rachel and loved having a chat with her.
Rachel stayed and talked with them for about ten minutes and then the taxi rang and said it was outside.
"Have a good time girls, be sensible won't you"
"We will don't worry"
The girls were all quite tipsy now.
"By the way Rachel Taylor let me have some of your tampons because I forgot my period was due and didn't bring any with me" Hannah told Rachel
"That's fine" Rachel said laughing
The girls left so Rachel went back into the lounge with Eddie.
At the party Ivy was now incredibly drunk.
She had on a tight dress and was trying to pull it up and flash everyone.
Jade was trying to stop her. Jade was quite tipsy but nowhere near as bad as Ivy.
Everyone was laughing at Ivy.
Luke came over and tried to take Ivy into one of the bedrooms.
"Don't you even think about it Luke, you had your chance with her and you blew it"
"I only want a bit of fun"
"Yeah and have you seen the state of her? She's not in a state to do anything"
All of a sudden Ivy started throwing up on the floor.
Jade quickly dragged her to the nearest bathroom.
She quickly got her inside and locked the door behind them.
"Oh my god Ivy, I can't believe what a state you've got into" Jade said whilst Ivy was sick in the toilet
Ivy stopped being sick and sat back against the bath and started sobbing. After a while she got quite hysterical.
"I'm going to have to phone your Mum to come and get you ivy"
"No you can't, you know she thinks I'm at your house"
"You need to go home though, my Mum's not going to want you if you're throwing up everywhere"
"Please don't, I'll be fine"
Ivy then got up and unlocked the bathroom door before darting out. Jade sighed, she really didn''t know what to do.
Ivy got another drink.
When Jade found her she was passed out on the sofa.
She knew she had no choice other than to ring Rachel.
Jade found Ivy's phone and unlocked it, luckily she knew her passcode.
Jade didn't really want to ring Rachel as she didn't know what to say, but she knew she needed to.
"Hi Ivy, is everything okay?"
"Urmm it's not Ivy, it's Jade"
"Is Ivy okay?"
"No not really, she's had way too much to drink and she's passed out on the sofa. Would you be able to come and get her please?"
Rachel was so angry with Ivy. She couldn't believe Ivy had lied to her. She was also extremely worried though, and right now she just needed to check that Ivy was okay.
Rachel wrote down the address and then she had to call for a taxi because she and Eddie had both had a few glasses of wine.
She went to the house. Jade let her in and took her straight to Ivy who was still passed out on the sofa.
"Thank you so much for looking out for her Jade"
"That's okay, she's not going to be in too much trouble though is she?" Jade asked feeling bad for calling Rachel
"She will be in a lot of trouble tomorrow, but tonight I just want to make sure she's okay"
Rachel got Ivy to the taxi as quickly as she could as the meter was still running, but she was struggling with the state Ivy was in.
She was praying Ivy wasn't going to be sick in the taxi as she the last thing she wanted for a bill from the taxi company. She had brought some plastic bags with her just in case.
Ivy came round a bit when she was in the taxi.
"I'm sorry, please don't hate me"
"You know I'd never hate you, but you are in a lot of trouble young lady"
"I just wanted to make some friends. I don't have anyone at school. No-one likes me"
"Well there are much better ways of making friends than getting completely off your face"
"I'm sorry"
"We'll talk in the morning"
Ivy leant against Rachel and slept for the rest of the journey home.
When they got back Eddie was waiting to help get Ivy inside.
They managed to get her up the stairs but suddenly she started throwing up again.
"Great, just what I need" Rachel sighed looking at her cream carpet
She went into the bathroom with Ivy and held her hair back despite the fact it was already full of sick.
"Do you think you're finished?" Rachel asked and Ivy nodded
"Right well we're going to have to wash your hair now because it's all sicky. Let's take your dress off as well because that's covered in sick too"
Eddie knocked on the door.
"Don't come in Eddie, Ivy's only in her underwear"
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah I'm going to wash her hair because it's got loads of sick in it"
"Okay shout if you need anything"
Rachel washed Ivy's hair over the bath and then took her into her bedroom and got her sorted for bed.
Ivy went to sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
The next morning, when Ivy woke up she was very confused. Suddenly bits of last night started coming to her and she suddenly felt sick with worry. She was in so much trouble.
Ivy turned over and tried to go back to sleep as she just wanted to forget about all the trouble she was in. It wasn't working though, her head was too full of worry. She couldn't believe she had got herself into such a state last night.
Rachel poked her head around the door, but Ivy pretended to be asleep.
Rachel went in, deciding to wake her up as she didn't really deserve a lie in.
Ivy turned around and faced her Mum, her face etched with fear.
"I'm so sorry Mum"
"So you bloody well should be, do you have any idea of what a state you were in last night? Not even to mention the fact you lied to me"
"I was just trying to make some new friends"
"And as I said to you last night, there are much better ways of doing that. The state you were in last night, absolutely anything could have happened to you. Jade told me that Luke was trying to take you into a bedroom and take advantage of you?"
"Seriously?"
"Yes, so you are very lucky that Jade was a lot more sensible than you and was in a fit state to stop him taking you anywhere"
Ivy started to cry, she was feeling absolutely awful now.
Rachel was really angry with Ivy and this was making her cry even more.
"I'm sorry Mum, I promise I'll never lie to you again and never get that drunk again"
"Too right you won't, what is it with you lately you seem to constantly be in trouble"
Ivy was properly sobbing by this point and Rachel realised she may have been a bit harsh on her.
"Despite how much trouble you are in, I was your age once and believe it or not I also had a fair few times where I also drank way more than I should have. Everyone makes mistakes, so we'll put it behind us. I want you to know that I am incredibly disappointed in you though Ivy"
"I know, and I really am sorry"
"I know you are. Please don't lie to me again will you?"
"No next time I want to go to a party, I will definitely ask you first"
"And not drink as much?" Rachel said but if Taylor was anything to go by then there would probably be several more times when Ivy would drink too much
"No definitely not"
"Good. I hope you're prepared to do a lot of jobs and help me out today"
"Yep, I'll get up now"
"Good"
Ivy was surprised that she actually wasn't feeling hungover. She didn't think it was possible to drink that much and not have a hangover.
"Sore head this morning?"
"No I actually don't, surely I should have the world's worst hangover after last night?"
"It's because you're young, trust me you'll feel it a lot more once you're older and just you wait until you get to my age"
"Jade really stuck up for my yesterday, I hope I haven't ruined my friendship with her because I really like Jade she's not like the others"
"Text her in a minute and just say sorry. And then maybe you could invite her over here one night this week and actually have a sleepover"
"Yeah that would be really good"
"I'm really sorry again Mum"
Rachel could tell how sorry Ivy was, and knew there was no point dwelling on it too much. She really did hope she had learnt her lesson.
