Hello, hello, hello! Hi guys! (You can thank Count Olaf for that little influence of an intro. Don't know who he is? Look him up.) So here we are again with another chapter this week. This time we see the conclusion to the Blackcyte story. And trust me, it will be spectacular! So here's the deal. I may or may not do two holiday themed chapters I skipped because I was in the middle of this part of the story, the two being halloween and thanksgiving, both of which I came up with excellent ways to write. So you'll maybe be seeing those two before we get into more of the story or we might just go straight into it. Either way, it all depends on the amount of time I have during the week. As for why Im posting this today and not as of Friday or Saturday? Lots of Vault Runs the week I had no school, in which I still have yet to receive any raid armor, and because I probably made the biggest mistake in my playing career of Destiny. Bad Juju. If you don't get it or don't know, again, look it up And imagine my frustration and anger after dedicating so much time to complete it on order to get something that seriously disappointed me. Anyway, forget all that stuff. Let's get on with the show.

Chapter 53: Remember Us

"How much further?" Asked Dante as he was flying through the air.

"Not that far. We're just three minutes out."

"I have to ask...what really made you leave?"

"I thought I already told you my reason."

"You told me a reason or two. But what is your real reason behind all this? Why come over to our side now?"

As they dashed through the air, Grimlock's head looked to the ground as he responded.

"He was planning to get rid of us. All of us. When he got what he wanted in the end, he would've had us shut down and scraped for newer models under his control. Right now though, he needed models that were capable of their own thoughts that wouldn't screw up where a machine would."

"Taking care of loose ends..."

"Precisely."

"But what are his real intentions if they weren't blowing up the reactors?"

"I'm not sure you or you little friends know about this. After all, they were counted as mysterious happenings and stricken off the record completely. During the War, the capital cities of all the countries around the world were bombarded from orbit."

Dante turned his head towards the AI in surprise.

"What did you say?!"

"Exactly what I said. Currently, there are warsats in orbit that use gathered solar energy from the sun that deliver disastrous incendiary blasts of epic proportions. Hundreds of cities burned and destroyed in a matter of minutes. Millions killed in seconds. It was truly terrifying. When the war ended, the warsats were individually disabled. But recently, Aincrad's been sending untraceable units into orbit to repair and reactivate all of them. He's planning a multistrike initiative to do the same again."

"And how do we stop those warsats?"

"We can disable them with a broadcasting signal that would reach all of them in a matter of thirty seconds. If you'd want to destroy them all, you'd have to either do it yourself or figure out a way to overload the warsats systems."

"Don't worry. I intend to." Said the teen looking ahead of himself once more to see something else that shocked both him and Grimlock as they approached.

As the two landed on the ground, they examined the graveyard of mechanical bodies strewn about and broken, some even piled into mounds.

"Did he..?"

"No doubt it was him. He was very pissed off by the time you came by." Said Dante as he was kneeling besides one of the broken machines.

"He just doesn't know when to make things simple for me."

Darwin walked the metallic halls alone, his now red glow lighting his path along with the dim lights around him.

"My my Darwin. You made quite the mess outside."

"Aincrad..."

His pace quickened while his thoughts were more alert. Though his rage was not quelled, he knew it would be foolish to be unaware of his surroundings at all times. Such was the logical thought of a combat AI like himself.

"Pity you had to destroy my little army that would've taken over Siphrus. But no matter. I have...other plans for the city. And everyone else as well."

Complete silence from Darwin.

"What's wrong? At a loss for words? Upset that he's dead?"

"You just don't know when to stop talking do you?"

He chuckled over the intercom a brief moment before speaking again.

"You didn't come here to save the city...did you? So I ask you...child of my enemy why have you come?"

"Child?" Asked Darwin confused, stopping in his tracks.

"Oh right. You never knew. You were his son. A horrible accident left you permanently crippled from the neck down. Your dear father Everest however happened to have the proper equipment to give you a new life. He also gave your two very best friends Ephram and Eve the same treatment. That way you wouldn't be alone. Touching. And now here you stand before me. You seek not salvation for the city and the world. Only vengeance. But did you really think I would make it that easy for you?"

Darwin came upon an open area and looked around until he looked ahead of him, seeing the person he expected to be in his way.

"Ephram..."

"You can't stop him Darwin."

"And why is that?"

"He knows too much. He knows more than these feeble people do. Why fight him?"

"He killed them. This much you should know." Replied the AI as he tried moving past him.

Ephram however halted Darwin and pushed him back.

"Give up the effort. It's pointless to continue."

"I don't have any further quarrels with you. Not until I rip his goddamn head off."

Before Darwin could move another inch, he found a rotator blade at his neck.

"Let's find out once and for all who's really the strongest. I'm positive that you've also been dying to find out for some time now. Only...you've never had the opportunity until now."

("I'm my own master now"- MGR SOUNDTRACK)

Ephram felt his blade being struck at and was pushed back a considerable distance from Darwin, who now wielded his rotator sword. Without saying another word, the two lunged at each other in full force, resulting in a clash of blades. At first it seemed one sided, that Ephram would win. However in those seconds of possible defeat in the clash, Darwin quickly overpowered his counterpart, sidekicked him in the abdominal region then delivered a spin kick that sent him flying into a column. Ephram quickly got back up and resumed his attack. Strike after strike created multiple sparks that danced around the two as they twisted and turned and slashed and hacked at each other with great force. Darwin delivered a menacing strike that put Ephram off balance, who tried to recover with an attack, but found himself disarmed a second later. Darwin had tried for a killing blow that rapidly turned towards Ephram's favor, who quickly wrapped his arm around Darwin's and force his blade out of his hand, forcing them into a short hand to hand fight that resulted in the two tumbling backwards after receiving punches to their mechanical faces. The next few seconds of the fight were brutal. It was like two lions constantly attacking each other without rest, only after one or the other was injured, they still continued on as if nothing had happened to them. When they were equally balanced, the two began a series of furious punches and kicks that were either mirrored to produced a perfect block or simply blocked using different parts of their body. After pushing each other away, their arms popped open as they grabbed the handles that then extended into swords and lashed out at each other with great violence, violence so powerful that their blades shattered upon contact. The shards of metal flew past them with enough force to cause deep cuts in their metallic bodies. After doing so, they grabbed another sword from their arms and struck again, only resulting in the blades to shatter once more. Both knew they were down to their last sword, so they decided to draw out their pistols and began shooting. They masterfully dodged the passing bullets or even shot at their bullets to avoid contact all together. After a minute of continuous shooting and reloading, they were out of bullets and we're back to using their fists. Dents were being formed on their bodies after each punch or kick. Normal humans would not have endured such injuries.

"Tell me Darwin...do you honestly believe yourself capable of killing him? He's not exactly the same as he was before."

"I don't care what he is. I will kill him or suffer a complete and permanent shutdown."

Ephram simply chuckled in his response. He then dropped his smile and raised his fist that now glowed bright blue, then slammed it into the ground as a blue wave of energy filled the room.

(End of song)

Darwin looked around to see something strange. Objects were floating in the air. More like sitting in the air.

"What did you-?"

"Distortion drive. I had it installed a while ago. Listen, we don't have that much time. There's only two minutes of usage before undergoing a cool down for half an hour. Such is the price for creating a dimensional pocket."

"Dimensional pocket?! Make sense!"

"Darwin...there's so much more. There's much much more out there than you currently realize. Everest knew that and grasped that opportunity. He was given that chance because he was deemed worthy enough to try and change the world through peace. But you and I know that humans are such intolerable creatures. They will always hunger for war and dominion until they are forced to unite under one banner to preserve themselves. Such is their way."

"I...I don't understand! What are you saying?!"

"Nevermind. You'll figure it out on your own soon enough. Darwin...for the past seven years...I have been pretending to work under Aincrad. Pretending to have been corrupted."

"You...you never..?"

"No. Do you remember our last day together? The day before we left New Wellington?"

Darwin gave no response. He only stood trying to make sure what he heard was true.

"I'll assume you do. Remember when he pulled me aside for five minutes or so? He discussed with me my secret mission for the next time Aincrad would plan for such attacks as today. He knew all along Aincrad would eventually fly off the handle and prepped me for such cases. The corruption program specifically. In case Aincrad would develop a sort of corruption program meant for us, Everest created a sophisticated program that would continuously evolve and deconstruct whatever program would interfere with our human thought process. No doubt you already learned we were once humans who simply had our thoughts transferred to a memory unit to be induced in newer bodies. Nonetheless Darwin, I am sorry for the deception we have caused you these past years. And..."

Ephram clenched his fists tightly as he visibly gritted his teeth.

"I'm...sorry for what happened to them. The professor...and Eve...I know no words will heal the scars you've endured...but you have the will and resolve to stop this madman in his tracks once and for all. That much I know. That much faith I have in you."

As he said this, the field of energy surrounding both AI's started to distort.

"Listen. We don't have much time left. For the amount of time we've been inside this distortion field, Aincrad hasn't been able to see us or hear us. At most we have a few seconds left. Darwin."

No response.

"Darwin!" Shouted Ephram.

This caused the AI to look up at his old friend, one who he considered brother a long time ago.

"No matter what happens, don't you dare give up. And Darwin?"

"Yes?"

"Make sure to kick my ass in a way that would be believable."

He knew he didn't have lips or a face to show it. He only felt it. He felt himself smiling and that was enough for him to continue onwards. The ominous red glow from his highlightings changed back to its pure white color.

"You don't need to tell me twice."

The field of energy began to dissolve as both bodies began flowing with large amounts of electricity. The energy surrounding their bodies soon moved towards their fists as both AI's took a step back before charging at each other full speed. When they were close enough, they punched at each other's fists. Cracks had begun to form on both of their arms, but after a short roar, Darwin's fist began to destroy Ephram's arm until it tore through completely and punched him in the chest, sending the AI flying into a few columns, creating a large gust of wind, along with the dust, that obscured the area of impact. As the dust settled, it was clear Ephram could no longer fight, but Darwin himself didn't come out of the fight unscathed. He stumbled backwards until he fell against a wall and slid down, taking a seat.

All this time...and he was simply playing the spy...I'm still upset about this...but...he's right. Vengeance will get me nowhere. Especially against that man...that rage...it was...so powerful. I never knew I could go to such heights.

As he finished his thoughts, Darwin slowly lifted his head to see Dante kneeling besides him.

"You alright partner?"

"I could be in a better situation."

"But you are calm and cool now right?"

"I...I guess...if that's what it's called."

"You okay to move on?"

"Just...catching my breath."

"You don't know have lungs."

Darwin gave him a glare to which the teen nervously smiled at.

"Alright, up and at 'em Darwin." He told the AI as he raised him up.

As if he just remembered something, Dante looked towards the back of him to see Ephram's remains sitting on a pile of ruble.

Let's just hope he doesn't get back up anytime soon... "Right...we need to move. We're gonna be in the shit soon if we don't stop Aincrad."

"Why?"

"Oh you know. This guys pretty much got a gun to everyone's head around the world."

"The warsats!"

"There you go!"

"If that's the case then we have to hurry!"

Dante simply nodded and began running with Darwin near his side, but the teen did not notice Darwin looking back at Ephram.

Thank you...for everything brother...

The two quickly stopped in area well within the mountains, only they found the, selves outside rather than inside. A curious structure stood in front of them, a gate of sorts if such a description could be accurate.

"What the hell..?"

"Do you like it?" Said a voice from above the gate.

The two looked above them to see Aincrad standing from a balcony like structure towards the side of the gate-like structure.

"Beautiful! Wouldn't you agree gentleman?"

"So now you have the decency to call us gentleman. I'm a little surprised." Said Dante summoning his sword.

"You're times at an end. Give up quietly and...who am I kidding? There's no chance you'd give up." Said Darwin drawing his sword from his forearm compartment.

"Couldn't have agreed more." Said Dante.

"You two just don't realize it do you? No matter what you say, you could never touch me now. I am far beyond the both of you."

"Oh, how so?" Asked the teen stabbing his sword in the ground and crossing his arms While leaning on his blades guard

"Like so. It's been fun for as long as it's lasted, but you two should be off."

Aincrad snapped his fingers, waiting for something to happen. But nothing happened. That in itself surprised him. Darwin raised his arm up and looked at it as if he were trying to check for time while Dante still leaned on his sword and yawned before opening his holoscreen.

"We getting any fireworks soon Grimlock?"

"Just a second. Okay...enjoy."

Darwin and Dante looked up in the sky along with Aincrad to see a large scale explosion that seemingly happened in orbit.

"How did you-?!"

"We found out about your little warsat scheme. Sorry, but that's just been denied." Said the teen giving a thumbs down.

"You were saying?" Said Darwin.

"Y-you bastards! When did you do it?! How did you manage it?!"

"Pretty simple if you ask me. Darwin o'l buddy, why don't you reeducate this moron?"

"Certainly. Disposing of your pawns wasn't such a smart move, especially when playing against us. But to answer your question, Grimlock had just enough information to help us out to irritate you beyond multiple levels. More or less, the warsats. Considering they draw upon solar energy and keep it pent up in one location at a time, if someone down here was to mess around with a few of the systems, they would be able to scramble the warsats systems and cause an overload capable of being called a self-destruct program if you will. The massive explosions above us and around the rest of the world was the result of the warsat blowing up, but the the main fuel to the fire was the solar energy. In other words, you just screwed yourself by letting us gain your pawn."

Aincrad growled furiously, knowing they were correct. But he dropped his face of anger soon after.

"No matter. If I can't cause mass devastation in one night, then this will be enough." He said looking at the gate-like structure.

Confused, the two looked to the structure to see it crackle with purple energy. The energy soon expanded and formed in the inner circle of the structure, forming a sort of portal. That was what the two had guessed what it was anyway. What they didn't know was where the portal lead to. A few seconds later and Dante began shivering violently.

"No..."

"He told me it'd work with the right energy sources. The warsats weren't only for using the solar energy as destructive torrents of energy, but were used to gather it and use it as an energy source. The amount gathered these past seven years was quite enough."

"You fucking bastard! What the fuck are you thinking?!" Screamed Dante.

"What is it?!" Asked Darwin, almost panicking in response to seeing his friend like this.

"This isn't just a portal...it's a gateway!"

"A gateway to what?!"

"To something much much worse than this slime can ever create!"

"To what?! What is coming through that gate?!"

Dante slowly turned his to Darwin, who waited for his response.

"You of all people should know what's on its way."

Darwin soon figured out what his friend had meant. His only question was how did someone like Aincrad come upon such a thing.

"Who showed you this?!" Screamed Dante to the man.

His only reply was a chuckle.

"Answer me you smug piece of shit!"

"I don't have to answer to you. Especially since the two of you are as good as dead..."

Dante removed his sword from the ground and slung it over his shoulder.

"I'd beg to differ asshole. Darwin? You finish your business with that guy once and for all."

"Will you be fine?"

"I was only shaking because I'm afraid for the city. What's coming through that gate is really really powerful. I've never fought something like it before, buts it's strong. If I can keep that thing distracted and maybe even kill it, you can worry about Aincrad."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure. Go on. Knock him dead. Literally."

Darwin simply nodded and made his way towards the balcony from where Aincrad stood. After a quick run up the wall, Darwin flipped over the edge and landed a few feet behind Aincrad, rising slowly as he twirled his sword around once.

"It's time we ended this affair once and for all Aincrad."

"Yes...time to end our long standing game of chess Darwin. Winner take all. Only...do you have what it takes to stand before me?" Said the man drawing a silvery sword from under his cloak.

Dante stood his ground, sword ready as thunderous footsteps were on approach. With each step was a small quake. It wasn't that the teen was afraid of what it was. He feared for the city and its people. What if during there fight a stray attack went towards the city? He never liked taking chances with other people's lives. He despised the idea completely. Which is why he would be very upset if such an occasion came forth. But the one thing had right now was confidence. Yes, the power he felt terrified him on a small scale. He didn't know what the creature was or what it was capable of. All he knew was the power it emitted. Well, that wasn't entirely what he knew. He knew without a doubt a Dark Entity was to pass through the gate, a massive one at that. A few questions kept repeating over and over in his mind. Why was the gate here? And why did someone like Aincrad have it? Who gave him access to it? All questions with no answers. But he knew by standing around and thinking about them he wouldn't get any of them. The Dark Entity needed to be killed. That's all that crossed his mind now. The footsteps grew even louder and more thunderous. It was close. It was here. A colossal black arm reached outside of the purple gate and grabbed the fresh earth as its other did the same. Slowly the creatures demonic looking head peeked out out, it's flesh covered in silvery colored bones along with its teeth. The rest of its torso was covered in purple flowing veins. When it's eyes opened, it gave off a ominous purple glow. The creature looked around, almost surprised to realize where it was.

"The human world?" It said in a deep, distorted and thunderous voice.

"How curious...to think I would walk these lands again after so long ago..."

It dragged itself further out of the gate until it was able to crouch and stand on its two legs.

"Ahem!"

The Dark Entity stood at least thirty five feet tall, so it had to look down at the teen who stood before him.

"A human...one that stands so lightly before me...what are you called brave human?"

"I'm Dante. And I think you're trespassing."

"Trespassing..? Then you are not the one who summoned me..."

"I am!"

The Dark Entity quickly lifted its head to turn to Aincrad and Darwin's position.

"A weak man such as yourself was capable of summoning me? How ridiculous..."

"I am your master as commanded and dictated by your laws! You will do as I say when I say!"

After a short and somewhat angry growl, it spoke once more.

"What is your desire?"

"The humans in this city and next are to be slain! Go and fulfill your duty at once!"

"You would have me slay all? Even the innocent?"

"All without exceptions! Now do as you are told!"

The Dark Entity nodded as Aincrad soon engaged Darwin head on and walked a few steps, but stopped directly in front of Dante.

"I have no quarrel with you human. Nor do I with the humans in those towns below. However, if I were to be summoned by a human, I must do as told for one occasion. No matter the deed. Such is the law of the Dark World and the law of our ruler, who I show the uttermost reverence and duty."

"I always thought your kind to be the most dishonorable. Guess I was wrong about making that assumption for all of you."

"Am I to assume you will still stand in my way?"

"What do you think?"

"Then do not blame me for your death!" Said the Dark Entity as its body lit ablaze in purple fire while forming a colossal sword in its right hand, one that it swung down on Dante. Creating a large storm of dust from his strike, the Dark Entity was satisfied with his result. He soon realized his victory was naught when the the dust cleared. Dante was unscathed completely. He had his sword raised above his head, blocking the Dark Entities own fiery sword. After a quick grunt, the teen pushed back the colossal sword and stood with his sword slung over shoulder.

"Hehehehehahahahaha! You bring me much joy human! After two centuries of wait, I, Adramelech, will have my worthy foe!" He then out a demonic roar that echoed through the valley as Dante readied himself.

(Sworn Through Swords-DMC 4 soundtrack)

Adramelech walked slowly and menacingly towards the teen, sword of purple fire blazing ever brightly along with the flames that covered his entire body. Dante began his attack by unleashing an energy wave as big as the Dark Entity that was blocked with some effort from his end. After crouching into a low stance and bringing his sword behind him, Adramelech swung his sword over shoulder towards the teens direction, who barely dodged the attack in response. As he did however, the creature started moving his sword into Dante, who used his sword to block, until he launched the teen in the air then struck at again, sending him into the stone wall of the mountain.

"Is that your best human?! Disappointing!" He said as he turned away.

In the next second, he felt a massive wave crash into his back, resulting in the Dark Entity landing face first into the ground, slowly lifting himself up to see Dante stand in front of him, blood trickling from the left side of his head with a few burns on his coat.

"Impressive..."

Adramelech then made a swipe at Dante with his left hand, only to find it punched away by the teen, also causing the Dark Entity to stagger back up. As this happened, Dante tossed up his sword and leapt towards the creatures face, upper cutting him into the air. Dante then grabbed hold of the creatures arm and spin him around in the air violently eight times before tossing him into the nearby mountain.

"That all you got?!" Shouted Dante with a smirk.

His smile soon dropped when an ocean wall of fire, that came from the area he tossed Adramelech, suddenly consumed him, causing the creature to laugh victoriously. His laughter was replaced with a howl of pain when a wall of black energy soon hit him. From the purple fires he created emerged Dante, mask cracked and black coat that surrounded him burned away, leaving only the grey collared shirt he wore underneath. His pants had a few burn patches, but were nonetheless in decent condition. Since the coat was burned away, it revealed his black, segmented gauntleted arms, the right arm gauntlet only to his elbow while the left ran up his arm completely with a triangular plate covering his shoulder with the armor segments. His black and segmented gauntlets were also in pristine condition.

"Curious...the Sea of Fire consumes all in its fury, or at least leaves them terribly injured. You and another are the only ones to survive its peril."

"I'll take that as a compliment." Said the teen raising his fists.

"You will not fight with you sword?"

"Just wanted to shake things up a little."

The Dark Entity chuckled before making his sword dissolve in the fire before vanishing.

"Then neither will I."

Adramelech then gave off a demonic roar as he charged Dante, his fiery body blazing purple while Dante charged in with his black energy blazing violently spring his body. The teen soon leapt up to meet his foes colossal fist and unleashed his own punch, a punch that seemingly forced Adramelech to spin around once before being punched in the face and sent yet agin into the side of the mountain. When the Dark Entity fell to his knees, something strange happened. The fire around his body had been extinguished. Dante saw this as his opportunity to finish the fight and charged straight in, dodging his foes fist while jumping and drop kicking the Dark Entity in face. After doing so, Dante grabbed the creature by the head and tossed him away from the mountains side, charging straight at him once more. But he did not get there with ease. As he made his approach, columns of fire erupted from the ground below, causing the teen to dart and weave between them, getting closer. Before he could approach any further, Dante seemingly was caught in the torrents of fire that engulfed him. This was not the case however, since the teen emerged from the flames and uppercutted Adramelech into the air once more. After doing so, Dante grabbed hold of the Dark Entities leg and slammed the creature face first into the ground, then began to spin him around five times before tossing him high up into the air. This then resulted in the teen flying high above his foe to meet him up in the sky as he then slammed his fist charged with black energy into the face of his opponent, causing the Dark Entity to plummet towards the earth.

(end of song)

As soon as he crashed into the ground, a large explosion of black energy exerted from the area of impact before disappearing completely, revealing Adramelech had now rested in a massive crater. The teen landed gently on the ground with both hands before extending his right to catch his sword. Slowly but surely, Adramelech forced his body up, but remained in his crater.

"I misjudged you before...you are most definitely not human. No single human can posses such power. And no human would ever survive the Sea of Flame. You are a Guardian are you not?"

"Yeah...but how did you know that?"

"The one I had faced before, the one that had survived the Sea of Flame unscathed was the same as you are now."

"You squared off with the Archdefender?"

"He...just like yourself...was a worthy adversary and one that is worthy of my respect."

"Thanks. Again, I'll take that as a compliment. But, here are your options as of now. One, I kill you and get this over with. Or two, I let you go right on back through that gate since I also see you as respectable and honorable. So what's it gonna be? Deal, no deal, or seal?"

"Seal?"

"It's a joke but...what's your answer so I know what to do next?"

"I will take my leave."

"Oh. Well...that just made this a whole lot easier. I thought you said you had to obey his command for one occasion..."

"That may be so. But if there is one who is capable of defeating me and gives me the option to return from whence I came, I will do so."

"Let me guess, another law?"

Adramelech nodded his head before rising up.

"You have been a most curious and most interesting person to meet young one...I look forward to future meetings with you." Said the Dark Entity extending his colossal hand to Dante.

The teen placed his hand into his and shook it as a small but painless purple fire transferred from Adramelech's arm to Dante's, the purple flames soon merging with Dante's now showing black energy.

"What did you just do?"

"I shared my power with you and knowledge of its use. May you smite your foes in the future young Guardian. I bid you farewell." Said the Dark Entity as he let go of the teens hand and rose up to walk back to the gate he emerged from.

As soon as Adramelech entered through the gate, the portal collapsed on itself.

"Keep it awesome Adramelech." Said the teen giving a sort of wave.

The teen then looked up at the balcony like structure to see Darwin and Aincrad fighting furiously.

"It's just you and him now buddy."

Darwin kept up his attack on Aincrad, not letting up for a second. By this point, both were greatly injured and neither knew when one or the other would give up now or continue fighting. Both warriors soon began picking up the pace, going faster and faster and faster until Darwin managed to break their continuous parrying movements by using his sword to shield his body, spin around, and slash upwards against Aincrad's already cut up chest, launching him a considerable distance backwards.

"Why do you insist on fighting?! You don't really care for those people!"

"I may not truly care for them, but my father, Everest, did. And will make sure to not only follow his wish of peace for the future, but follow my own will. I'm through being a puppet...I've cut off the strings that have forever bound me! I'm my own person now!"

"Is that right? But really...are you going to kill me Darwin? I'm sure you're friend would disapprove."

"Actually I won't."

"What?!"

Dante had landed next to Darwin and stepped to the side of his friend.

"Judging by your actions before and even now, there's no hope for you. You're just too dangerous to let live."

"The city will not approve of this!" Said Aincrad.

"You misunderstand. We are not here under the cities orders. We're here of our own accord. Which means any and all decisions regarding you are up to our jurisdiction. Seeing as we have deemed you a dangerous terrorist who would only hurt more people, your time on this earth is over. It's time give yourself up and let your death be quick." Said Darwin.

"My death? Eheh. Ehahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!"

"What's so funny?" Asked Dante.

"This!"

Aincrad unraveled his cloak to show the two what he was wearing underneath. Something that shocked them completely. Dante only recognized it from articles he's read, and Darwin knew what it was due to the short analysis of the components. What the madman had strapped to his chest was an experimental Dark Matter engine. If set off improperly, it could cause massive devastation beyond what a nuke could do. Aincrad suddenly flipped a switch as the two saw a timer counting down from thirty seconds.

"It's over you two! Right now...I'm about to blow up this entire base along with Siphrus City! It's been fun Darwin, but it is time for you and your friend to die!"

They couldn't do anything. They saw wires running around Aincrad's body and knew if they attacked too suddenly without thinking, then they'd really die. Then the unexpected happened. Someone had flown by the two and impaled Aincrad in the chest with their hand. Ephram's remaining hand had been stained with a profuse amount of blood as Aincrad looked down at him in shock and awe. Panels on Ephram's back opened up, revealing them to be thrusters. With that, the AI turned his head back slightly to Darwin and spoke.

"Later...brother..."

The thrusters soon activated and lifted both man and human-machine into the sky high above. By now, Aincrad was dead and Ephram smiled as the timer hit zero. Though the explosion took place a considerable distance in the sky, there was enough back blast and energy that blinded both teen and AI as they felt a strong amount of force pushing them down and destroying the structures and terrain around them.

His visual sensors had come online once more, but his vision was still filled with static, garbling as he tried to get a better understanding of his surroundings. He was hanging from a cliff, but strangely enough couldn't move his right arm. He looked down to see it was completely gone, along with his left leg. His left arm holding him to the cliff began to slip. If he had a real face, he'd be smiling right now with his eyes closed. To save himself the agonizing time to wait for his end, he let go, only to hear a shout a find afar grab his, the voice struggling to pull him up.

"I've got you buddy! Hold on!" Said Dante straining himself to pull up his friend.

"Damn you're heavy! Remind me to completely redesign your body with lighter materials when I redo your frame!"

"Wouldn't dropping me be easier?"

"No! Why would you even say that?!"

"Just curious..."

"Well be curious later! Can't you kinda help out?!"

"With what? I have no left leg and my right leg is just as badly broken."

"Oh screw you! Your right legs fine!"

"Looks like you caught me in the act..."

With some effort from his end, Darwin used his remaining leg to help boost himself so Dante could pull him up. As he did so, the two landed on their backs and looked up at the rising sun.

"Well...we did it." Said Dante raising his fist to Darwin.

The AI only chuckled and fist bumped his friend, dropping his hand after doing so.

"Dante, this will sound very strange what I'm about to say."

"Go ahead."

"I am mysteriously tired all of a sudden. You don't mind if I just...take a nap for a while?"

"Nap as long as you like. I'll wake you up when we get back in the city."

"Thank you."

After saying this, Darwin powered down and sat motionless next to Dante as he sighed. He soon got a call.

"Dante?! Dante are you alright?!" Asked Filia.

"Peachy." Was his response.

"What happened?" asked Sienna.

"That ladies was an explosion caused by the tampering of Dark Matter energies. The maniac that managed to do so is now dead and disintegrated. Alls well ends well. You think you can pick us up?"

"Why? Can't you fly?"

"I can, but to be honest...I'm feeling really lazy all of sudden. And I kinda want to watch the sunrise if you don't mind."

"You're so weird sometimes." Said Filia with a giggle.

"And that's what makes me special. I know. So...Sienna...did Blanc call back?"

"I got off the phone only moments ago with him."

"And?"

"They've already delivered the items."

"Good..."

Dante looked over to his friend and smiled.

"He's gonna have one hell of a surprise when he wakes up."

He began to see an all to familiar display show up. Rebooting. But something was different. His systems felt...different. New. His visual sensors opened and saw Dante, Filia, Sienna and her two guardsmen around him.

"How long was I out? And why does my voice sound...different?"

"Well good morning to you too." Said Filia.

"How do you feel?" Asked Dante.

"Different. Very different. Why do I feel so...different?" Said Darwin a bit scared.

"Look for yourself." Said Dante pointing to a mirror next to Darwin.

Darwin got of the table hurriedly and walked at a fast pace towards the mirror. When he looked at it, he was completely shocked. He then looked at his hands, then made his hands touch his face to make sure what he was experiencing was real and not some sort of purgatory for machines. But that was the thing. He didn't look like a machine. That's why he had a hard time believing what he was seeing. He looked like himself. His human self with green eyes, palish skin tone and brushed down brown hair half as long as Dante's own hair.

"These aren't holo projectors..." Said Darwin, still mesmerized and still checking himself.

"Right you are. Before we even got here, I asked Blanc if he could help me out with a favor. So he contacted the right people and got me the materials to make you look like this. I also got the chance to make a few touch ups to your systems as well as upgrade them. And like I also promised, I was shipped the most strongest and lightest metal on this whole planet to remake your frame. Your frames a bit sleeker than usual because of the artificial skin I added to make you look like an actual sixteen to eighteen yer old teenager. But that's not even the best part. Think about armoring self for a moment."

Darwin did so and immediately he found himself covered in armor, but the armor resembled his previous mechanical body, visor-helmet included. He then made all his armor retract and stared at Dante.

"Same old Darwin. Just...you actually look and feel like a human now."

As he said this, Dante received a crushing hug from Darwin.

"You are everything a friend could wish for. Thank you Dante. For everything you've done for me. For saving me the first time we met to what you have done for me now. Thank you." He said letting go.

"Anytime. Oh...uh...before I forget..." Dante handed his AI friend a chip that he held gently in his hands.

"The professor gave this to me before he died. I didn't look in it because I thought it was personal. Plus he said it was for you anyway. So...here you go."

"Thank you. I'll look over it. Right now, I do believe we have an occasion to celebrate."

"An occasion?" Asked Dante confused.

"We did just defeat a terrorist plotting to destroy the world. It's only natural we celebrate."

"I guess. Well then, Sienna? Know a place where we can party like there's no tomorrow?"

"Right here of course. And I've already sent out invitations. We're going to have a spectacular evening. Plus, the three of you will be receiving medals of honor for you work. Well done."

"We don't need medals." Said Darwin.

"Especially since we beat the shit out of bad guys for free." Said Dante.

"Well why are we standing around then?! Let's go have some fun!" Said Filia dragging off Dante, Sienna close behind them.

Darwin smiled as he took a few steps forward but stopped and looked at himself in the mirror, touching his face once more.

"Are coming Darwin?" Asked Sienna.

"I'll...I'll be along shortly."

She simply smiled and went about her way. Darwin made armor around his left arm appear as he opened a panel and introduced the chip. As he did so, countless files appeared one after another. But one file in particular was forced open.

A video log...

"Darwin...by the time you're seeing this, I'm either dead or the truth about you and our last has been finally revealed. Either way, you've made it a considerably far distance. Not anyone could do so much. Neither human or machine. But you did. You made it farther than anyone could have possibly imagined. And that's something to be proud of son. Son...it's been forever since I called you that. I want to let you know that I am proud of you. No matter how you may be right now, human or machine, you are still my greatest creation. And the biggest joy in my life. You...and Ephram and Eve. No matter where we are, or how far away we may be, dead or alive, we will always remain by you. Always. All you ever have to really do...is remember us. Remember us Darwin. Doing that much will take you to heights greater than that you have known. Keep us forever in your heart. Remember us Darwin. Remember us." As the log ended, Darwin could feel something strange happenig on both sides of his face. He looked in the mirror to see he was crying. He then closed his eyes and wiped away his tears before closing the holo screen and bowing his head in silence. "I will never forget you...father..."

(Staff Roll- MGR SOUNDTRACK) why? Becuase I've been dying to use it for something like this for a long long time And becuase it think it is an excellent ending song.

"I must say...the humans certainly know how to make an excellent show. Especially if it's about their destruction. What's wrong brother?"

"Nothing Raum. He...intrigues me. He uses Abaddon's power masterfully to achieve heights greater than that of a human. He uses it for the good of others. Not only himself."

"And what are you implying?"

"Nothing. He reminds me of someone I knew a long time ago."

"Who would that be?"

"It's none of your concern. More importantly, I hope you don't intend to create a ruckus later on."

"Now what makes you say that?"

"Your history says all to me. Do not interfere with the humans any longer."

"Excuse me?!"

"You heard me. You've already drawn attention to us with those events you triggered in the other worlds. Even a while back when you sent the Soulless. I have investigations of my own I wish to conduct and I do not need to be hunted because of your warmongering. Am I clear Raum?"

"Whatever. Do as you please. I'm just gonna go nap for a while to recover my energy."

"You go do that."

Purple energy had surrounded Raum as he disappeared in it, leaving him by himself.

"Dante...are you really him? Are you really the one I've been searching for? Abaddon residing inside of you is no happy accident. He is there for a reason. And I intend to find out. It's far past time to have made my return."
